3.5 stars is about right for this spot. I came in for a smoothie and salmon avocado toast. It's NY pricey and what I got was just OK. I got the berrylicious which was fine. Typical smoothie, not too sweet but not super well blended. The salmon avocado toast didn't need the cream cheese. Also, they cut the bread in half and then put everything on it so when you tried to eat it, everything fell off and it was awkward to eat. I eat at this shop frequently when I'm working at Hudson Yard. It is convenient, the service is fast and friendly and the food is fresh. I've had breakfast more times than I can count here. Their DIY salad is also a favorite. I'm usually all about posting the pictures, but I was so hungry the last time I was there, I totally forgot, but the salad I ordered was very good. Casual. This fresh&co is in my work area and I recently noticed a sign outside saying they have a special from 3-5pm where their smoothies are all half price. I decided to check this out. This location is a good size. When you enter the counter where you order is right in front of you along with a display of sandwiches. To the right is a salad prep area. Wood is the order of the day in terms of decor and there are plenty of seats along the right side of the store. All the way in the back is a fridge with food you can grab and go. That's where the smoothies are. The smoothies are not premixed. Rather, the core ingredients are already in cups which you bring to the counter. There you pick which milk you want and whether or not you want protein powder. They mix it up and put it back into the cup you handed them. It's not a bad system and it saves time. I like the pb booster which includes banana, cacao nibs and peanut butter. When mixed right, this smoothie is fantastic. However, I highly recommend looking carefully at the cup you pick. Try to get the one with the peanut butter sitting on top and not on the side. Why? Because the staff just dumps the contents into the blender without scraping the sides, meaning barely any peanut butter will get in. If it's on top, it should all go in with the other ingredients. The staff is always nice at this location and considering I tend to be there when they're getting ready to start closing up I appreciate that they've never rushed me out. RUN. Do not be fooled by the "fresh" in it's name. This F&C is anything but fresh. If food poisoning is high on your list this is the place for you. We ordered two salads (make your own), with shrimp ($48 for two salads at the equivalent of a McDonald's or any fast food place) and end up vomiting and having stomach issues all night due to food poisoning. Service is dismal. The people behind the counter (except the cashier) look like they are so miserable, it's no wonder the place isn't fresh (or air conditioned). With Chop'd two blocks away at the new Moynihan Train Hall at Penn Station, and Sweetgreen a block away near WholeFoods, you have so many more options and places that 1) don't overprice or rather not tell you there are extra charges for items when they ask you to pick, 2) have a better selection of options or 3) have FRESH ingredients, as well as employees that seem happy to be there, you really need to go anywhere but here. read more

I visited F&C for lunch with a colleague while attending a trade show at the Javits. It's a traditional Salad chain with the "build your own" concept along with sandwiches and wraps. Service is average and a smaller dining area. We ordered salads and 2 drinks and were impressed with the various options. Food was fresh and a good size as well. Was was t good was the price : $63 dollars for 2 salads and 2 drinks. Naturally it is NY but it's a bit much as far as value for money . Needed something fast, but I'm not into fast food. Fresh&Co fit the bill. In a rush and not wanting to be late to a meeting at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, I ran in for a Cobb Salad. The person at the counter was fast and efficient as was the person making the salad. All the ingredients were fresh and the quanity plentiful. Small seating area, but comfortable, clean and airy. one of the worst food experiences I have ever had. They are only open until 6 at the time and we got there at 5:40 and the girls looked at us like "you are really coming right now?". They were so incredibly rude to us. My fiancé asked for no tomatoes on his salad and they forgot, and he reminded them. They had to start over and they threw the pan hard into the dirty dishes pile. They then lied to me saying they didn't have any falafel left. I said that was fine, and then another worker came over to tell her that she should make it. She rolled her eyes and made it for me, but they were rock hard.. like I thought I was going to break my tooth when I bit into it, type of hard. I can't believe people can act like that for coming well before the close time and we were nothing but nice to them. We should have not paid for our meals and left.. Everything about the place screamed average. Salads were fine, nothing to write home about - the lemon juice is a nice touch to the kale caesar. The hot food was good but not worth the prices ($15+) - best thing on the menu is the blackened chicken. I've been to the Fresh&Co a couple of times. Menu is the same as the other many locations. The upside to this spot is that I think they built it in anticipation of the 2 office buildings, 2 condo buildings and shopping center that are all opening in about 3-4 months, because this location is never super busy. No long lines or harried staff. The one downside is that sometimes the staff level is a little light even for the lighter foot traffic, so although there is only a couple of people being waited on, it still can take a bit longer than you would like. That said, I definitely recommend for some quick, cheap eats in the area. read more

Had such a awesome quick sandwich tonight at Fresh & co. Tommy the manager says to me as he asked "for here or to go?" And I paused... cold, tired from the day and wanting to just slump down and finish my work- he says- "let me heat up your sandwich- have a seat, and enjoy your meal." That gentleman was so nice and so right, and what was supposed to be just a quick sandwich turned out to be this awesome find of fresh food, fresh avocado and Turkey and bread that had just the right crisp from the roasting. I've got to say they make a good breakfast. I had the hardwood smoked ham croissant which was great and my sister had the bagel with lox cream cheese. The bagel was only ok, but the cook mixed the lox fresh into the cream cheese which I was very impressed by. Iced tea was nice and strong and the interior was clean. Staff were very efficient. It was neat and looked like an average "healthier" fast food place a la sweetgreen. So I decided to go in and check it out. Although the Puebla grilled cheese was calling out to me, I decided to be good and got the veggie sandwich instead. They were so generous with the avocado and I think there was atleast half an avo in there. I got my sandwich to go and just sat there and waited for it to be time for the bus without realizing that they were closing. But they were so nice about it and didn't ask me to leave or gave any indication that I was overstaying my welcome. I really appreciated that. On the bus I took a bite of the sandwich and I was literally so fresh. I scarfed down the whole thing in no time. I was left feeling happy and full. I will definitely keep this place in mid the next time I need a fast fresh meal. I also think that this spot would be ideal to grab lunch at, if you work close by. read more

There was a salad stand, a sandwich stand, and drink stand. I chose the the healthy tuna salad and it was pretty bad as well as overpriced. My wife ordered a salad and it was really good and priced well for the amount of food. I will average out the two items I tasted to get A-OK. There are tables to sit at and also some bar seating. The restaurant is pretty clean and service was fairly quick. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again, but I wouldn't be against eating here either. It is just eh. read more

All the reviews said this place was like a NY version of Sweet Green and that is an accurate assessment. They offer a variety of grains, salads, and drinks. I went for the grain salad with quinoa and falafel salad. The dressings were really yummy and added a lot of flavor to the salad and the kale. The falafel was a little dry. I've been coming to Fresh&Co for lunch on a regular basis for a couple of reasons: 1. Its on MealPal 2. They take care of their customers 3. Its not far from my job 4. THEY HAVE REALLY GOOD SALADS If you knew me and my boyfriend, the word diet and "healthy eating" are not necessarily in our vocabulary when it comes to food. Unless I really focus on something like the whole 30. So me coming to fresh and co for a salad 3 times a week is not because I want to lose weight or to eat healthy, but because they have a great menu option. If you think about it, MealPal allows you to go to multiple places to eat in your area, and I go her at least 3 times out of the work week - THAT IS SAYING SOMETHING. By far my favorite meal that I get there through my MealPal is the south by southwest bowl. Its feels like a healthier Chipotle bowl, so you don't hate yourself when you finish the entire bowl. They offer you a piece of bread with our salad and I recommend you take it, mainly because its bread and who doesn't like bread? Even though I eat here because of MealPal, it has made me curious about their other salads or bowls like the BBQ Jackfruit Bowl (which is seasonal) or the Korean BBQ Bowl - W]which I might get today. For a chain restaurant that you can find in other locations, each one is going to be different. I trust this location because of the people that work there. They have never given me a hard time nor have I seen anyone else complain. If you do have a MealPal there are days when you do have to wait longer than the 3 minute standard but Dayana, one of the cashiers, always makes sure that they are working on the meals even when they are busy. She will literally shout out " MealPals?!" between each transaction if its taking too long. A coworker of mine has a health problem where he can't eat too much kale, and they accommodate his diet for the MealPals that have kale. Like I said, think it's the people that make this location great and not just the menu. Things to take note: - You can always substitute if something doesn't work for your diet - Good People - GET THE BREAD. read more

I work near Hudson Yards and Fresh&Co recently opened up their doors a few days ago. They were handing out $5 off cards for your meal which was a great deal for giving it a try. I ordered the turkey chili bowl with quinoa. The overall dish was alright. Not entirely sure who came up with the idea of mixing chili with brown rice or quinoa on a bed of raw kale. The kale definitely made no sense in the dish so I wasn't a big fan of it at all. I will however stop by again and try some other items instead and will update my review if it's worth updating. read more

I came here with my girlfriend for a quick refuel before we headed back to Javits center to take on NYCC. The interior is very welcoming, and the staff was super kind here. Also, a huge compliment to their staff because the service is very fast and efficient. Since it was a bit chilly, we decided to go with the lobster bisque. It was a bit pricey for a regular size, but it was a decent portion. The lobster bisque was more on the saltier side and tasted a bit too thick and creamy for our liking. Fortunately, there is a decent amount of seating inside, and there are lots of great locations where you can sit and people watch. Overall, this place deserves more of a 3.5-star rating because the staff is very professional and courteous, but the food could use a bit of improvement. read more

I chose the Avocado dressing over the Tahini, which is Ahhhh-MAAAA-zing. Next time, I will go for the Chipotle dressing. The store is clean, and the staff is lovely! So this place popped up while I was working in Hudson yards. There has been not one good food place you can trust for fresh organic food until now. It gets crazy busy at lunchtime (noon) so get there early unless you want a line out the door. Great sandwiches, great salads, great ingredients. The staff is all very nice and help with any problems I've had. I come here daily despite the prices being a little steep but it's New York City so what do you expect. So if you find yourself in the Jacob javitz center or Hudson yards area this is your only option for food that you can trust that also tastes great. read more

Sure it's fine. But with no explanation as to why, they WILL NOT put what you purchased in a bag. NOPE, they don't bag things there. You will have to grab all your items and bring them to the small condiment stand and place all your items in a bag yourself. When I questioned this by saying "I don't understand the bag thing?" The answer I got from a guy behind the counter "oh, yeah, sorry" and he redirected me to the bags. Very weird. Not sure what kind of time they are saving. I always stop here before taking the Megabus home because it's 2 blocks away from the stop. You can sit and eat and there's also a bathroom which is great before boarding the bus. In terms of the food, I've only had the salads but they are fresh and delicious. You can order a pre-made salad that they make fresh in front of you (like Subway) or you can get a custom one. I've gotten the California Cobb without mushrooms both times and been satisfied. The employees are also great - very friendly and happy to customize whatever you want in terms of a salad. Nice workers but not great at making the salads - everything tasted frozen, they don't care to properly chop or mix. My avocados are in whole slices?? Where I have to cut myself and whole chips not crushed. I went at 1:00pm so not even close to a rush hour time or closing. When it's my turn, I ask for a sandwich without the cheese but he said he can't take it off because it's pre-made. It's not even melted, you can't just take it off before you warm it up? So I decide I'll get a salad instead. I go over and am ignored. Finally they start to help me and I as I go to order, the worker starts talking with two other staff members instead of helping me.
