I came in on my lunch break as I forgot to bring my lunch today. This place is quick, convenient and healthy, however the service was subpar. The staff was EXTREMELY rude to me, which was completely unnecessary. I have hard hearing as-is, and the music in this place was very loud, so couple that with lots of LOUD banging sounds (metal tongs hitting metal bowls, the throwing of things around, etc) I could not hear what the person was asking me while making my build-your-own salad. When I asked them to repeat themselves the first time, they immediately began giving me an attitude. Well that happened a few more times because they were speaking softly and I COULD NOT HEAR THEM, so they got increasingly more aggressive with me. At one point I stopped and told them that I have bad hearing and can't hear them, to which they didn't seem to care. Saying that was a total waste because they continued to be rude to me. The food was average and the convenience of this place is nice, however there are many other similar places nearby that I will check out next time. I really did not appreciate how the staff treated me. Note to the owners: lower the volume of the music and train your employees to be more patient and empathetic with your customers. I chose the Southwest Crunch salad, which was a perfect combination of textures and flavors! The place wasn't that busy since it was dinnertime, and I'm guessing more people come there for lunch. So, ordering took very little time, and it was easy to find seating. The layout of this location was a bit odd, and the restaurant did not have a very cozy feel at all. Accidentally ordered from the just salad further away from my office. I usually go to the 39th street location which is so packed and crazy. This one was more calm. This most recent time, I requested no romaine in my chicken Caesar salad, as well as bread and half a lemon. My salad was missing the chicken, bread, and lemon. It also came with more Romaine than kale. Super disappointing. I reached out to Corporate and didn't even get a follow up. Watch out Sweetgreen! Just Salad is great - all fresh ingredients and they don't skimp. I tried the California Salad which is a nice low calorie, low sodium option. I came here as part of a Yelp event, and am looking forward to coming back. I decided to get the Beyond Tex Mex salad, one of their entirely plant-based options. It came with the "supergreens blend" (which seems to be just spinach and kale), black beans, corn, pickled red onions, chipotle vinaigrette, and the star of the show, beyond meatballs. It was filling and delicious, although a little pricey at $13.49. Next time I will probably get the chipotle cowboy salad with vegan chicken nuggets and avocado, which seems like a better deal at $10.99. Overall, the salads here seem to be a little less complex than at sweetgreen (my usual haunt for a healthy lunch), but the prices are correspondingly also a little cheaper, which I really appreciate. I'm a huge fan of the salads and this new store conveniently located close to Times Square is a wonderful addition to the chain. Just salad is doing a great job of reducing their impact on the environment by offering reusable bowls for $1, using recycled content for their napkins/cutlery and offering a variety of meatless meats! This location is very clean, and the service was fast and friendly! Manuela was very helpful with my clumsy ordering (I was debating between 2 salads and mixed up my words) and Franco the manager was lovely and welcoming as well. The sign on the door stated masks were optional but encouraged. (The staff were masked). Just amazing! I had a very positive experience ordering for pickup online - I loved the both the Spicy Tofu Crunch and the Tokyo Supergreens with tofu! I love being able to customize and add / remove ingredients, and the total price was also very fair for the area (~$13-$15). My favorite might have been the Spicy Tofu Crunch, with added avocado, kale, and furikake - one of the best salads I've had to date! I love how the tofu is perfectly marinated - super tasty. With a mix of grains (rice or quinoa), the salads are pretty filling as well. The store was crowded when I picked up my salad during lunch hour - definitely recommend ordering for pickup to skip the wait. It's really convenient how there's a separate pickup area, and the eco-friendly containers + lids are all compostable ++1! I don't like it. I feel you as bad, I used to go to there flat iron location. Haven't been to just salad in years. I stumble upon a Midtown location I walk in and I'm instantly confused. There line process is weird. They don't explain things to customers which is weird because not everyone is a repeat customer. I like the reusable bowl concept, but why do I have to walk to the counter with a bowl without a lid on it? So many questions I'm just confused I'm not a fan of the salad and I doubt I'll be back.
