We live ~5 hours away and when we visit the area it's the first place we eat every time! I don't think we've ever had anything bad here. This past trip I discovered the honey mustard baked sea scallops. A day later I went back for more. Fried clams, scallops, & calamari all delicious. A family favorite is the baked seafood casserole. I will say having to walk through the attached fish store is shocking. The smell is overpowering. The place starts to fill up around 6pm on a Friday night. There's always a line when we leave. Love the seafood store that butts up to this place. Everything is so fresh and delicious. My son always gets the king crab legs which is something he won't even eat at home but loves them here. Their fish and chips are amazing and the prices are reasonable for the delicious food. Delicious oysters and good prices on drinks as well. The only thing I would complain about is that last time we were there, my uncles steamers were filled with sand and had to be sent back and not reordered. Purchased 2 stuffed haddock from store today - $10.00 each Manager should sit down and eat this before selling it to the public. It contained 90% stuffing and a tiny amount of fish. Didn't taste even remotely good. Ended up throwing it out and cooking supper all over again. What a waste of money. read more

My husband and I love this restaurant and always take out of towners here. We always have excellent food and great service. We had Elise this last time and she was superb and extremely friendly. We were laughing the whole night with her. The food is great and the portions are extremely large. We has the cioppino which was well seasoned with a spicy kick to it stuffed with seafood. The fried platter was enormous and we had a lot leftover for the three of us. The only problem we found was the homemade lemonade was not worth the 4$ with no refills. Skip that next time. We just picked up a take out order of steamed clams and clam chowder. The chowder was hot but the clams were missing. The steamers were filled with sand, do they not clean them first?!? The whole meal went into the trash, what a waste and super disappointment! read more

So good. Everytime I'm visiting the area I stop in for dinner and have never been disappointed. My only recommendation for the owner is the get the take out workers trained up on the menu. Sale ad says steamers $2.79 got there and were $3.99 No where in ad does it say market price. if I hadn't of already invited people over I would have walked away, as It was didn't end up inviting others that I wanted to. both sides have gone downhill the past couple of years. portions much smaller and cost more. Although I haven't eaten in the sit-down restaurant, I have ordered take-out from the restaurant, Sushi Bar, and also purchased from the fresh fish market. Without fail the food is superb: always high quality, fresh, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend purchasing fish or sushi from them, either in the restaurant, as take-out, or to prepare at home. They also have another location in Attleboro where I have eaten and ordered take out, and not only was the sushi and food amazing, but they also have green tea ice cream (something very difficult to find outside of NYC). read more

This is not a high end seafood restaurant. It's a family style restaurant, come as you are. We've always had mid-level to good waitresses, too. That's important. Excellent and fresh seafood, including Sushi and meats. Very tasty. Awesome linguini with white clam sauce. We love fried calamari. There's is very good. Sushi was nice. Not high end but creative and fresh sushi. Clam boils and seafood platters are very good. Like being at the shore. They have a very nice seafood and fresh meats retail market in the front. Inside and out the quality is 3 out if 5. If you like a place to take the family from the finicky kids to the seafood lovers it's a great place. Great to me is I've been back several times. I choose Fresh Catch often. I love their sushi and they have really interesting specials every day. They are great with their baked scallops, and anything with lobster. It is loud in there, as others have pointed out. I like to sit at the bar and have an appetizer and a glass of wine. Lucky to have this locally. read more

The interior is neat, the portions and specials are great, the fisherman platter or whatever is the size of a small rowboat, its very reasonable, in a descent area, kind of a hole in the wall, Id deffinently go back, I also work at the courtyard down the road and usually reccomend my guests go in that direction especially if they like seafood and want to save money from the more upscale restaurants at Patriots Place!! read more

I live in San Francisco and have been here three times and will continue to do so whenever I am in New England. The seafood here is so fresh and plentiful. As it should be, being a fish market. What a JOKE!!!!!! I've lived in Mansfield for a couple years now and my girfriend and I have always talked about trying out the Fresh Catch as we're both seafood lovers, and finally went tonight for dinner. The atmosphere was pretty dull (Lots of old people) and overall the place seemed about as clean as a gas station bathroom. We were seated by a smoking hot blonde hostess, which was the highlight of our outing, and things really went down the urinal from there....For a place always advertising about dinner specials our waitress did not inform us of any. I ordered the Baked Haddock and Baked Potato, and g/f went with the Shrimp Scampi. We waited about 50 min before we got our food. I see someone wrote about free soda refills, well I guess you hafta get up and get them yourself because we both sat there with empty cups the entire time we waited for our food. When the food finally came I just wished it hadn't. I staired down at this huge white plate that had a little piece of what looked like over cooked fish and this little rinky dink baked potato. I mean the size of this baked potato on this big plate was a joke. They rave about their portions on their TV ad and that is just fraudulent!!! Being an avid cook I could tell they just destroyed this fish and was dead on when I took a bite and it was dry and the flavor literally baked right out of it...I never send food back but this time I had no choice. I called over the waitress and let her know the problem and she kind of looked a little embarrassed when she took a deeper view of what my plate looked like..They took it off the bill and asked if I wanted anything else.."NO THANKS.." I actually don't have 2 and half hours to sit in a dirty restaraunt that smells like a nursing home. My g/f said her scampi was edible but nothing she'd ever order again. My advice to anyone in the area craving seafood is to hit the drive thru, order a couple McFish sandiwches, tip the cashier $20, and you will have a way better seafood experience.....The only appetizing looking thing in the restaraunt was the blonde piece of chicken behind the hostess desk.....huge portions lol....THOSE FRAUDS!!!!! read more

Fresh Catch has always been a good place to dine. Unfortunately, my past two dining experiences ended in disappointment. I decided to give it another go.... I went in for a late lunch. My party was seated at an unwashed table (gross). Waitress was a little slow at first but very pleasant. I ordered a cup of lobster bisque and the chicken salad club which was one of their specials of the day. My bisque was served lukewarm it was taken away and nuked. My club was loaded with lettuce and had no tomato.I found the bisque a huge disappointment. I love lobster bisque and this was so bland! I couldn't find one piece of lobster in it. My friend who loves RI clam chowder couldn't get past the oregano and was finished after only three spoonfuls. Another friend ordered the clam roll and while the clams were good, the bun was not toasted. My husband enjoyed his meal, Haddock Nova Scottia. I would suggest to Fresh Catch to remove the painted specials on the windows if they can no longer honor the advertised deal. And neaten the uneven curtain valances it looks sloppy. I really wish my experience was different this time but after three strikes, I'm afraid I'm done. read more

Been here a few of times and enjoyed each visit. Parking lot may look full but usually can get a table quickly. Fried clams are delicious, light battery and sweet, and the Alaskan seafood chowder is a must try. Scallops are big and cooked just right, and salads are large. Excellent service. Very quick. Selection is ok. We ordered oysters, lobster and shrimp for a family get together. We are new the area so did not know where to go for seafood. Then we drove up the road to the Big Y for other fixins. The Big Y up the street had better prices, selection and fish is very fresh.
