Came here on a Sunday for brunch and it was all so yummy and fresh! They really nailed it with the name haha. We came with our non-vegan friends and we all had a great experience. One of them ordered a vegan dish, like us. Everyone was super satisfied with their meal and the staff where was super nice and friendly - always a plus, makes the experience that much better. I can't remember what everyone had, but I know we got the turtle for dessert and wow! Incredible. I definitely recommend and want to come back when I'm in Fort Lauderdale. read more

Upon entering the restaurant I noticed 2 things: the person acting as unofficial hostess was short and snippy and inattentive, and, there was a smoky aroma like a recent grease fire had happened. She told us that we could sit at any table that seated 2. It looked like there were only a couple of tables like that so we took the one right next to the door. The one problem with that table is that anytime someone came in or went out of the restaurant the door stuck in the open position, we'd freeze every time thIs happened, and I'd have to get up to close the door. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. The menu is extensive and full of healthy choices (see pic of menu). I had the egg and quinoa hash which was very tasty and satisfying, perhaps a wee bit pricey ($11.25). My mom said her Belgian waffle with bananas and walnuts was probably the best waffle she's ever had ($8.95). Again, many healthy delecta options. I was really impressed with this place for a few reasons. First off, I was pretty shocked to learn it was a gluten free building. A couple of my friends have celiac and they would love to have a place like this nearby. Next, I noticed that all of the staff were extremely friendly and personable. They seemed to have relationships with their customers and genuinely care. Big points there. And then finally, the food and drinks themselves - delicious food (shocking that it's all gluten free) and I love their French pressed coffee. Highly recommend this spot! read more

Wow this place is a dream come true for us gluten free folks. A dedicated 100% gluten free restaurant, yes please! I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon before checking into my hotel. I sat at the counter and received friendly and efficient service. There were so many great options to chose from and with breakfast being served all day on Sunday it was hard to choose! I settled on the tuna melt which is served on housemade gluten free buttermilk waffles! Holy moly was that delicious, and the portion was huge! I wish I could have eaten it all but it was a lot of food. I hope to stop in here again before I head home. Hidden Gem Alert! We were in town for a seminar and during our lunch break decide to walk here from the convention center. Definitely glad we made it here. Chicken burger was juicy and the chutney served on it was to die for. Cauliflower was the soup de jour and something g new and light I'd never tried. The chicken Caesar was so good my colleague had to save the rest for the next day!! The chicken salad on waffles didn't even stand a chance against my team member. My wife and I drove up to Ft. Lauderdale this morning specifically to have brunch at Fresh First. My wife has Celiac Disease and I'm a Vegan so this seemed to be an ideal restaurant to try out. We arrived at 11:30am to a full restaurant with several more parties waiting to be seated. We put our names on the list and were told that it would be about a 25-30 minute wait. Fortunately, the hostess had overestimated and we were seated in only 15 minutes. We had had ample time to peruse the menu while waiting for a table, so when the waiter approached us we were already prepared to order. My wife ordered the chicken and waffle with an egg on top ($12.50) and I ordered the sweet potato burger served on "Vegan waffle bread" ($11.75). According to the menu, the entrees came with a choice of handcut slaw or a house salad for that price, or red & sweet potato salad for an upcharge of 50 cents, or a cup of soup for an upcharge of $2.50. We both decided on the cup of soup, which today was a tofu chili. After not too long of a wait, our meals were brought to us. Well, I should say our main courses were. More on that later. My sweet potato burger between two waffles was unique and looked a bit strange, but was quite delicious nonetheless. My wife liked her dish as well, but thought it a bit dry so she asked for an additional little cup of hollandaise. Now back to our side dishes. For whatever reason, we didn't receive our cups of chili until we had almost finished our entrées. I kept trying to get the attention of our waiter, but he was quite busy. When we finally received our side dishes, we both found the chili to be a bit of a disappointment. It wasn't that it tasted bad, it was just sort of bland. It's definitely not something I'd order again. Other than that, we enjoyed our meals. Truth be told, my rating should be closer to a 3.5, rather than a 4-star review, but the restaurant deserves the benefit of the doubt, especially since they go out of their way to being Vegan friendly and 100% gluten free. read more

A gluten free girl's dream come true!! Everything is 100% gluten free so if you're on a gluten free diet you don't even have to go into the restaurant and play the game we all hate playing asking and reasking to confirm the contents of the food do indeed not contain gluten. Rest assured you will be safe to eat here! We started out with the the orange juice. I asked the server for her recommendation on a juice that would be sweeter and taste less vegetably and that was her recommendation. It contained orange, carrots, ginger and one other ingredient I can't remember. It still tasted super healthy and fresh but delicious. Just wish it could've been served colder but we just scooped some of our ice out of our water into our juice and it was perfect. I got the eggs Benedict which was served on a waffle and I loved it. My guy got the American Breakfast and he enjoyed it as well. It was a pretty happening place even on a Monday when we showed up a little after noon. Omg, my new favorite spot! My husband comes here all the time because he works in the area and is always telling me about it. Today, I was finally here and decided to stop in with my mom. We both ordered veggie burgers, I got the raw walnut (but grilled upon the servers suggestion) and she got the sweet potato. We split so we could each try both and I don't even know which one was my favorite because they were so good. We both got the potatoes on the side and those were soooo good. I love this place! Came here on a weekend trip and shared a couple dishes with a friend. The tofu and quinoa hash is amazing- normally quinoa is so hard to flavor but they really did an awesome job of making the whole dish flavorful and incorporate different fruits and vegetables. I don't have celiac disease but I acquired a gluten sensitivity after years of poor diet choices. We found Fresh First by looking for a place to eat that wouldn't flare me up. The menu is fantastic. As a breakfast lover, I immediately felt drawn to the breakfast all day option & I thought I would never taste waffles again. Fresh first changed that for me. For a while, I tried GF frozen meals or tried creating substitutions at home...but my cooking could improve. So, Fresh First was the first safe haven I could actually try food that I could eat and no worry if I had to take an Allegra that day. Now, apart from the goodness.... They make condiment. There own hot sauce is amazing. The desserts are so delicious, the consistency is amazing. You will ask yourself why the rest of society eats the way they do. Well done is all I have to say. Extreme eye contact avoidance: Ate brunch there Sunday feb 11, 2024. Food is excellent. Portions small to medium. However: upon entering we were directed to a table by pointing and once sat, were ignored for 20 min. No menus, no water, no setups. This is a small restaurant. The staff passed back and forth while avoiding eye contact and contact of any kind until I waived down one waiter by raising my voice. I explained that the waitress served the tables 12" to our right and left while completely avoiding communication or acknowledgement. It was so stark that the gentleman at the table beside us refused to leave until we received our dishes. Ultimately the male waiter over-compensated and took good care of us, but not before the initial irritation cast a cloud over the experience. I came here after stepping off a plane and I was starving! I wanted a filling meal that was healthy and found fresh first. It was really packed at 8:30 in the morning on a Saturday! The seating area itself is smaller but I saw at the bar because I was solo! I started off with the french press coffee. When I saw the price, I was a little confused at the just a cup of coffee but I realized it's about three cups worth! Definitely worth it and the coffee was delicious. They have signs stating that they don't have a microwave or frozen food. Everything is made from scratch. It is labeled as vegan friendly but they have options for meat eaters. I got the the veggie omelette with the mashed sweet potatoes instead of apples. The omelette was a nice size portion and it came with sprouts on the side. I liked how they have you a mini waffle too. I was more than full for hours after eating here. They offer a wide range of options including smoothies, acai bowls and juices made from scratch. The only reason that this review is five stars is because I could not give it any more. I was lucky enough to be staying at a hotel within a short walk from Fresh First, a 100 percent gluten-free restaurant. My biggest problem was deciding what to order because everything looked great. I had a rice bowl with mango, avocado, tomatoes and more for lunch. It was amazing. So good, in fact, that I went back the next day for lunch. I ordered the veggie omelette and added a potato side for just 50 cents. So totally worth it. My only complaint was that my order took a long time to get to me. While I understand that the restaurant was packed at lunchtime, the gentleman next to me ordered at the same time and he was halfway done with his meal before mine showed up. Regardless, mine was delicious. My omelette also came with a potato waffle, which was a nice addition. But the omelette really stood out. The vegetables were really fresh and worked well together.
