I found Fresh Leaf Dental by looking at Groupon & reading online reviews. They had the best reviews, but most importantly I read that Dr. Amer & all of her staff were gentle & kind. I had been avoiding the dentist for years after a painfully bad experience with my last dentist. I have to mention that when you make an appointment they will call if they have an earlier opening, which is an amazing feature. My first interaction was with Estelle when I called for an appointment and that was my first indication that I was in good hands. She is a true professional and absolutely wonderful. Thanks to Dr. Amer and her staff I am actually happy to go to the dentist, which I never thought I would say. All of the staff are patient, compassionate, and most importantly so very knowledgeable at their jobs. They take the time to explain & walk you through procedures. I explained to them that I have fibromyalgia which makes me hypersensitive, they emphasized on being gentle. When Wendy cleaned my teeth, she really went above and beyond making me feel comfortable. I needed a partial crown, which turned into a full crown (my tooth was worse than could be seen). Dr. Amer is amazingly kind, personable, and an incredible dentist. She walked me through everything, helped me be at ease. Even when I had to get shots, she was as gentle as could be. Connie was absolutely fantastic, she truly helped put me at ease when I got nervous (unfortunately my last bad dentist experience still left me nervous at times despite my complete and utter trust in Dr. Amer & all the staff). I honestly still can't believe what a pleasant experience it was, I mean it's dental work! Also I have to add that when you walk in it's like a breath of fresh air, it is welcoming with warm contemporary decor. When you go into the exam room you get pleasantly surprised by the continuing decor mixed in. You get a nice view of growing vines (looks like a hedge a bit). Personally I always found typical exam rooms to be uncomfortable & unpleasant. Not the case here. I really can't say enough nice things about Fresh Leaf Dental, they are the BEST!! Thank you again!!! I had the best first experience with a new dentist today. It began with their office manager over the phone. Estelle, is awesome and a believer. We hit it off quickly, her professionalism and concern for my welfare was awesome. Green Leaf Dentist is natural and holistic in their approach to dental services. Dr Amer was awesome too, she was full of personality and really listened and took her time. They also have a referral program, so if you mention my name you will get $50 in your dental bucket to pay for work. I had my cleaning with Wendy, and asked to have my scaling done manually since I am very sensitive and she worked on me without the machine for a long while getting to know me. Kindest staff and did a great job helping my grandma out with a teeth cleaning and X rays for her teeth! We came around a half hour late so were unable to get her the exam that day but they said we can come back another time for the exam and were very understanding and nice! I found this place when I needed to have a crown replaced. I was in desperate need of getting my tooth fixed and looking for a place in the area I live. I called Fresh Leaf Dental told them my situation and they were able to squeeze me in that week! Dr. Amer and her staff were very friendly and helpful. I had my first appointment with Dr. Amer yesterday, and I could not have had a better experience. Estelle at the front desk is warm and welcoming right off the bat. I'm pretty shocked with any negative reviews made about her since she's friendly and helpful from the initial phone call to leaving the office. Kelly, my hygienist, was incredible. I told her about my fear of x-rays, and she made it so easy. The cleaning was quick and painless. Dr. Amer is so informative and honest. I highly recommend choosing her as your primary dentist. I avoided the dentist for a few years (eek, I know) because I have major anxiety surrounding it. Now, I have a couple procedures coming up, and I'm actually totally as ease about them. read more

I will start with the good because Estelle has always been very accommodating with my hectic and unusual work and school schedule and always tries her best to fit me in. The assistant to Dr. Amer is very nice as well. I also found Dr. Amer to be pleasant as well. Now onto the cons. I had my first Invisalign treatment here. I say first because I got Invisalign again at another office because I was extremely unhappy with my results. After my last tray, Dr. Amer just went ahead and started fitting me for my retainers without even asking me if I was happy with how my teeth turned out. The whole process was rushed and wasn't explained to me what she was doing. She just took impressions and decided she would be done with me. I expressed to her I was still unhappy and didn't like the way my teeth looked. She kept saying to me that they look really good and this and that, but I know it was because she didn't want to do further work on them to get it to how I want them cause that would mean more work for her. I got multiple consultations at other offices and pretty much every dentist agreed with me that one of my front teeth was 3 mm in front of the other and not completely straight. It could be seen when I turned to the side and smiled that one was more forward than the other. I also didn't like how my teeth looked jagged and had spaces between them after the treatment (which I understand is supposed to happen with Invisalign, but the dentist does something called reducing inter proximal among other dental jargon I am unfamiliar with) I know this because the dentist I have chosen for my second Invisalign treatment did phase 2 after my first set of trays to fix what I wasn't happy with and also did a phase 3 for me to close the gaps. He also filed my teeth so they wouldn't look jagged. I appreciated that my current dentist goes the extra mile and above and beyond for me instead of just saying they already look good to try and convince me to not pursue further treatment to avoid more work on their part. If she honestly believed my teeth looked good after phase 1 of my treatment, then I would not recommend getting cosmetic work done by her cause she does not have the eye for it. read more

Ridiculous.... got a coupon from groupon for the cleaning. Called in to schedule an appointment and they tell me that they booked for the next 2 months. You kidding me right? Well wait so i went ahead and did cleaning else where and moved my date to the latest available appointment and told them if anything opens up let me know in advance. Lady called me twice with in 2 months with 3 hour notice. Really lady? You do realize that people have day full time jobs and cant just leave. Anyways appointment she gave me last time after i checked my coupon expires a day before. But guess what nothig is available again so my money went to waist after almost 4 months of waiting cant even accept it a day after it expires and cant schedule an early day!!! Not to mention attitude she has. Talking to people like she is doing everybody a favor. I hope you choke on that coupon and basically stolen money. At least mention that you have 2 months minimum waiting line so that people like me wont waste their time and hear that receptionist attitude. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about this office. I decided to go to Dr. Amer after finding a groupon deal and having a not so great experience at the DDS I have through my insurance. I am so very happy I found them. Booking an appointment with Estelle was a breeze, and she gave me all the necessary details at the time I called to schedule. (Location, parking, etc) The office is located off Irvine Blvd, a quick 30 seconds or so from the 55fwy. Parking is located in the rear of the building, and patients enter through the back. The office is easy to find, smaller in size, and very tidy. Estelle was very friendly and welcoming (just as pleasant, if not more, as when I first called) and after a small amount of paperwork, I was taken back to start my cleaning. Tiffany took very good care of me; she was kind as well as informative. After my thorough cleaning (which impressed me as I did come in on a groupon) I met with Dr. Amer. Dr. Amer greeted me with a smile and took the time to explain what she had seen on the X-rays, as well as during the examination. She has a very caring demeanor, and I felt at ease with her. I never once felt like I was being treated differently b/c of the groupon deal, nor did I feel as though I was being "up-sold" at any moment. Like I said before, I have insurance, but unfortunately the office doesn't take the HMO I regrettably signed up for. That doesn't matter, however, because I will be returning within two months for additional services that I will be paying cash for. Yes....the staff, physician, and services were that good. I am very happy to have found this office, and as crazy as it sounds, look forward to my next dentist appointment.
