Had a great and fast experience today with a teeth cleaning, Adriana was very helpful and kind.

Ruined my family's and my own teeth. They chipped one of my teeth. They unnecessarily shaved down some of my teeth that were fine when they could've adjusted the veneers. Messed up on my veneers and so then they said they had to give me crowns. Didn't place veneers or crowns on correctly. I left with a gap inbetween my crown teeth when my teeth were perfectly positioned before the process. They also left gaps at the roof of the crowns where the gums are so food gets in. They also convinced me to get a crown over a very very very tiny chip in the bottom of my front tooth (but this one chip wasn't caused by them, they caused a different chip). They didn't even tell me thoroughly enough what a crown was, just that I should get one... Had I known they were going to shave my tooth down that much I would have kept the tiny chip in my tooth. Then they mess up the veneers and then the crowns... and thats just my mouth. they messed up on my family too. I didn't want to post the review because I feel bad for leaving a bad review but everyone deserves to know the truth. I don't recommend this place. read more

I had enjoyed this office for some time until recently. I had a very difficult experience with this dental office regarding my oral surgery referral. Despite following up multiple times, I was never given a clear answer or proper help. Because of the delays, time passed and I was left in pain that I believe could have been prevented if there had been better communication and follow-through. They hold grudges against you and ignore refuse to help you for things that are completely out of your control. I went in for a consultation everyone was so sweet and nice. I scheduled my appointment and told the dentist that I would need anxiety medication ( i needed to get a tooth pulled) the dentist said that she would contact the pharmacy and get me the anxiety medication. The day before my appointment to pull my tooth I had not heard from the pharmacy, so I called the dentist and the front desk lady said they didnt call in the anxiety meds for the appointment because she thought I already had them. I told her no, I only take them when I have dental procedures. We laughed it off and rescheduled the appointment. This time I picked up the prescription paper to drop off to the pharmacist and the pharmacist said the doctor put the wrong date on the prescription and that they would not be able to give it to me because it was a controlled substance, so they tried to call the dentist office to get the proper information. I tried to call to. But this happened on Wednesday (the day before my appointment) and I didnt realize they were closed on Wednesday because I am a new patient and my appointment was Thursday morning. I had everything set up for the appointment. I called the next morning and told the front desk lady that I would have to cancel again because they dentist made a mistake. And that I could not come in because the medicine is supposed to be taken at night but I did not have it. The front desk lady said she would call me back. She never did. I called and left a voicemail on that Friday and asked if they would still see me they never called me back. Its been 2 weeks. I even have a crown that was approved by insurance for them to put in. I was never disrespectful towards them. Yes I was a little bit upset but never disrespectful. The appointment wasn't canceled because I did anything wrong. Yet they completely ignored me and its so unprofessional and unkind. Also this is a dental group you would think that someone else would reach out. Its just really sad to be treated like this. Eveyrone seemed so kind but you cant trust a smiling face. I think the dentist was upset because of the cancelled appointment messes with her money. But its like it wasn't my fault. Anyways just felt like everyone should know that this is how they treat their patients. Well I wouldn't even feel comfortable beings seen by them anymore since they are angry with me. This world needs way more compassionate and understanding people. I never expected to be treated like this. read more

I've been coming to Mehta Dental Group for over 2 years now and they are the absolute best! I wait less than 5 minutes in the waiting room and once I am in the chair, I get attended right away. Today I was helped by Andrea and Dr. Kim. They were both very nice and gentle. Dr.Kim answered all my questions honestly and was genuine about the suggested treatment. Came in for a teeth cleaning and was recommend to re-do a few fillings. Agreed to all and one of the new filing got infected after a week. They recommended I get a root canal at an endodontist and come back for the crown. Came back after visiting the endodontist and paid extra for their top of the line crown. Within 2 years, it fell off twice. Second time gluing the crown back was done by the father dentist who told me it shouldn't come off again. Got frustrated because it was a waste of time going back and forth and not being able to eat on one side of my mouth. So decided to go to another dentist. Fast forward another 2 years, it fell off AGAIN. So within 5 years, the crown fell off 3 times. This recurrence is giving me nightmares of my teeth falling off... read more

Just moved to Tustin so I decided to check out this place due to its high rating on Yelp. Although Dr. Mehta was knowledgeable and pleasure to talk with, I didn't enjoy his cleaning. It was done in such a fast manner and hurt. Seemed like someone was chasing him. My teeth still have some stains on it! Not to mention that I spent more than three hours at the place and the cleaning was probably 30-40 minutes. I didn't think it could take that long. Their prices seem a bit high as well. My first experience getting a cleaning with Dr Mehta was so so great. He did the cleaning himself which was fast and pain-free. I wrote them a great review soon after. I came back about 6 months later with a cracked tooth. In the course of about 2 painful months and several appointments, I ended up needing a root canal and a crown. My temporary crown fell off once or twice and I felt like I was in their office every week. It was an extremely frustrating and traumatic time. Even though the staff was always nice to me (sometimes dr Mehta was too nice. I was pregnant and he made a few comments about how I was staying in shape, which though I'm sure were innocent wa little off putting), being in the office automatically made me feel very anxious. I decided to go to a different dentist after that. Less than a year later, my permanent crown fell out. My new dentist told me that because my tooth was so short, I should have had a crown lengthening surgery before the crown was placed, and recommended I go back to dr Mehta to get it fixed. I went back in and they glued it back temporarily, then made me come back AGAIN to have it glued permanently (using the same crown). I have 2 babies and it was really annoying that they couldn't take care of it in one go. In addition, they made me sign paperwork that said they would only fix the crown in the future if I came to them for cleaning every 6 months. So now that they were holding my crown hostage, I went back there for a cleaning. The office still makes me feel so much dread and anxiety (and I'm not an anxious person otherwise). They took my x rays and dr Mehta checked me out and said everything looked good, then his new hygienist came in to clean my teeth. She proceeded to be very condescending to me about wearing lip balm and flossing (both of which I do everyday) and told me I'd need to come back for a "deep cleaning" (which is more money) because of the amount of tartar i had. It felt like such a money grab to me and such a pointless attack. By this time I'd already been in the chair for an hour and no one had cleaned my teeth. I'm so disappointed because when I first came to dr Mehta I felt like I finally found a dentist who was kind, efficient, and not greedy. But now I'm on the hunt again for someone that doesn't make me feel horrible every time I go in. Update: Just went in to my new dentist because the crown fell off again and found out that my root canal needs to be redone entirely. Smh. read more

From the beginning of our customer relationship - it became very evident that pushing the highest transaction, regardless of my preferences or feedback, would always be the highest priority. I have little to no doubt that my teeth need substantial work (I hadn't been to a dentist in 18 months), so this review is not about the work that was recommended. It was about the process in which I was placed to quickly approve complex billing items and codes, after an initial consultation which only included X-rays. After about 20 minutes with the Dentist, the billing/accounts representative immediately brought me a line-item'd estimate for thousands of dollars including cosmetic dental work (I have small chips in my front teeth for example). Instead of spending time educating me on the various procedures or separating what was crucial for mouth health vs. for aesthetic purposes, I was asked for a signature on something I barely understood the scope of. Because I've had multiple issues related to financial clarity in the health care sector (doctors saying they're in network, when the procedures they're offering are out of network), this was my first red flag. When I was brought into the accounts office - instead of justifying their recommendations, I was pushed toward opening a credit card to finance the recommendations. Thankfully, I have dental insurance of some kind and enough savings to handle such work, but the lack of any empathy toward thousands of out-of-pocket costs (after insurance), felt like being shoved down an assembly line versus what we all are - human. Because I actually employ the practice of getting second opinions, a nice end cap to this relationship was a $35 charge to receive digital files of the x-rays - since my insurance doesn't cover any additional x-rays for a full year. This is in addition to the billing of my insurer for said x-rays already. As a salesperson - I might be more privy to the nuances of sales, but the best comparison to this experience was a hotel/real estate time share presentation.
