I work just down the street so figured I'd walk over to this joint and see if they were viable place for lunch. I couldn't decide if I was in the mood for sweet or savory so I got both an acai bowl and a turkey wrap. It is extremely difficult to get a well-priced acai bowl at other places in La Jolla. I've actually gotten one from a certain juice bar that I will not name... that was no joke $14 and change. In any case, the acai was a large portion of the frozen kind (doesn't look like they blend it with bananas, milk, or anything like that) and then they top it with strawberries, banana, coconut, and honey. It was delicious, especially when the acai started melting a bit and became more like an acai bowl and less like a dessert :D Again, not a problem for me that it was frozen. Even the lady standing at I'm the register commented, "Mmmm now that looks good" as it was pushed onto the counter. On to the wrap - now I don't really know what I was expecting but the wrap was very basic. It actually looks exactly like the photo they have on their takeout menu or in their window. And for $4.99 I guess you can't really expect anything extravagant. But it is very simply a few thick slices of turkey deli-style meat, a bunch of lettuce, a sliced tomato, some avocado, and chunks of white cheese. I don't know if it was that I was expecting the turkey or cheese to be warm, but it really felt like something I could have made at home. It wasn't bad, but it was exactly what you would expect for $4.99. Overall I would definitely go back and I'm looking forward to trying more things on the menu. read more

I had walked by this restaurant hundreds of times without ever trying it. The building looks so-so and the place never has many people in it. But one day I finally went in and now I have been back three more times. The prices are very reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area. And on top of that, just when I was thinking the portions for this "healthy" venue would be small, they go and give you large sandwiches and wraps. The tortas and wraps are way bigger than I expected given the cheap price. Not to mention they're delicious. Do yourself a favor and visit this place. read more

I work nearby to Be Fresh and get their wraps and smoothies at least every other week and I am never disappointed. The service is always fast and friendly, the food is freshly made - you can literally watch them grilling their chicken for the wraps as you stand there - and it's always delicious. I've never tried their online ordering but a few times, I've called ahead and it's been ready in five minutes. Also, for being in La Jolla, the prices are really reasonable for the amount of food you get. I'll keep going back! read more

As their name would imply, everything was very fresh and tasty. I've done their chicken torta twice now and both times it's been more than I could finish. Delicious and refreshing. I had heard from my friends about this unassuming eatery in La JOLLA. As I stopped by yesterday I was amazed at the VARIETY AND FRESHNESS of their food products!! Ordered an AMAZING mango smoothie and today went in for oatmeal with flax seed COVERED in fresh fruit for UNDER $5.00!! It was DELICIOUS!! Brought home a "shrimp tostada" as I kept watching other patrons enjoying theirs, and had it for lunch....FANTASTIC!!! And I come from peru, where great fresh seafood and fruit is an "everyday day thing"!!! People should be standing in line!!!! read more

Came in today (with my boyfriend) at 7:30 pm, knowing what I wanted in mind. Cashier Karla then says "Just so you know we will be closing soon" I said "Okay that's fine". So I order my food and a couple walks in. Karla then says to this couple "Just so you know we will be closing soon" the couple then asks "What time do you close?" Karla responds "You need to be out of here by 7:45pm" Karla then looks at me and says "I'm going to go prepare your food" she does not let this couple know anything about helping them out shortly after she's done with me. I don't know about y'all but service is everything to me, especially if you have zero people in your snack shop/restaurant. It's not what you say, it's how you say it. The couple walked out shortly after Karla advised them they need to be out by 7:45pm. On top of it all we ordered a quinoa cookie and wasn't handed to me, this cashier Karla chick said "Did i not give you a napkin" my fucken bad shit didn't know I worked there too. read more

After my workout I was craving a juice but I left my debit card at home (perks of Apple Pay) and this juice bar is the ONLY one in the area that accepts Apple Pay! Food was fresh, the tostada order included 2 tostadas with very flavorful chipotle tinga. One of my favorite places. The menu is interesting fresh food with a Mexican twist that is packed with flavor. Some of our family's favorites are the wake-up breakfast sandwich, the lomo torta, and the tinga torta and wrap.
