Fantastic little spot to grab a healthy and delicious meal or sweet treat. Family owned and dog friendly -- literally could not be a more welcoming environment! They were out of the chickpea salad by the time I got there, but were super kind about helping me switch my order. I ended up with the pesto panini and added chicken -- fabulous!!! Will 100% be back :)

I was walking around initially to find a bathroom and came across this cafe! The interior is like no other. It felt like walking into a home. The matcha latte I ordered was made right on the spot and had a lovely gradient. I want to come here again to try the other foods! Service was thoughtful and kind. There were also other crafts and accessories that were being sold. The warm welcome to dogs was much appreciated as well. God bless you all!

Nestled in a suite next door to a wellness boutique in the Bird Rock neighborhood, you will find Honey Cafe. It's a cozy little space run by a local couple. The decor was very simple with a surfboard hanging on one of the walls. The menus behind the service counter were written on butcher paper rolls while a couple of other chalkboards hung to the side and front of the counter. Flatbread, sandwiches, salads, omelettes, and paninis were the food offerings. Coffee, tea, smoothies, and vitamix juices were the beverage choices. Since I had finished a meal elsewhere, I decided to just order one of the seven smoothies. The Rock Smoothie was made up of peaches, banana, yogurt, milk, and honey. The blend was whipped up quickly and tasted fine. My issue was the price for the 16 oz serving size. All of the smoothies were either $11 or $12. The volume needed to be at least 50% more to match some of the local shops less than a couple of miles away where at one place, a 24 oz product cost less than $10. Other than that, the service was cordial, and I would return to try one of the eight different omelettes.

Phenomenal phenomenal coffee and pastries, lots of middle eastern/Turkish flavors. Great variety and great service. Highly recommend this place. Also have cute stuff for dogs, and the whole decor and atmosphere is beyond amazing.

Beautiful space and incredibly friendly service (from the owner, Çem). We were walking in the area after a stroll by the beach, and the sandwich board on the curb, with promises of Turkish Breakfast, drew us in. The interior of the shop is bright and airy, and the menu is equally inviting. Çem couldn't have been friendly or more welcoming (and shared the various stories of his rescue pets, photos of which are featured prominently in the cafe). We opted for a zucchini omelette, which was fresh and flavorful, and topped with sprigs of dills and dashes of feta. Yum. We'd already had coffee earlier in the morning otherwise we would've downed a Turkish coffee...and been wired through the afternoon. Çem mentioned that his mother-in-law would be visiting soon, and would teach him and his wife how to make traditional borekas. Can't wait to stop back and try those out, especially with patliçan (eggplant). Teşekkür, Çem!

We came in to get a quick bite and some coffee before hitting the beach and this place was great! Cute birds on the patio, an adorable shop golden retriever, and a delicious maple latte. Thank you!

The cafe is very cute and aesthetic , it looks family owned . I went on Presidents' Day , and the owners kids were all there, their toys were on the ground . I think the kids were there because there was no school . They were touching the pastries , which I found a bit gross since I had just ordered a croissant . The croissant tasted like a Costco one ,definitely not baked there . The barista was a bit frustrated managing the cafe orders and her kids . Very unpleasant experience .

    Salmon Bagel

Cute and cozy cafe with a relaxed ambiance. Tried the salmon bagel which was really good with an iced Americano. Ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Very friendly owner with great customer service. Will definitely be returning when in the area, highly recommend.

This place is the sweetest. The owner (I believe) is so kind and thoughtful, my boyfriend and I decided to enjoy our coffees and breakfast in house. They really put effort into how they serve every drink and even something as simple as a croissant. I may need to know where they get their coffee cups and plating! Anyway 10/10 it's so cute here.

This place is so cute and charming! The food is homemade and they offer a few specialty Turkish options. There's plenty of seating inside or outside by the parakeets. There's food, coffee and service are all wonderful and it's very dog friendly as well.

With the owners' friendliness and the beautiful design of the place, I think this is the best spot around for coffee and smoothies. Also, don't leave without trying the chickpea salad -- it's incredibly delicious!

    Mango matcha

I adore this place! It's family run and they are so sweet, feels like they're making you a homemade meal. The cashier always takes time to make suggestions which is how I discovered the mango matcha! The spinach feta sandwich is my other favorite. If it's the weekend there will be a wait but it's worth it and you can just relax inside or on the patio (usually accompanied by pups or the resident parakeets!).

A hidden gem in La Jolla! Honey Cafe & Store is a place you won't want to miss with great customer service approach. Their Turkish breakfast is a true "Turkish Delight. Vibrant, authentic, and bursting with fresh flavors. The Börek, their signature stuffed pastries, are a standout--crispy, golden layers filled with savory perfection. And if smoothies are your thing, this spot has some of the finest in town: refreshingly smooth, full of natural taste, and blended to perfection. Whether you're in the mood for a relaxed breakfast or just grabbing something on the go, Honey Cafe offers a warm, welcoming vibe and memorable eats. Definitely a must-try!

Retro vibes, free arcade games, and an atmosphere that feels more like a hangout than a restaurant, in a good way. Extra credit for actually letting you play the games instead of just using them as decor. I was not very hungry, so I went with the Arctik Monkey smoothie with peanut butter and chocolate. Straight up delicious and absolutely something I would order again without hesitation. My wife ordered the Feta y Verdes veggie wrap, and even she was surprised by how good it was, which says a lot because she knows her veggies. Fresh, flavorful, and genuinely satisfying. Veggie lovers, consider this your official heads up. The arcade lineup is solid too. Pac Man, Mortal Kombat II, The Simpsons, a classic Star Wars Atari cabinet, plus others. Waiting for food did not feel like waiting. It felt like killing time in the best possible way. One quick warning. The hip hop playlist is not radio edited. Totally fine for adults, but if you are bringing kids, just know you might be explaining some lyrics on the drive home. Overall, fun spot, good food, strong throwback energy. I would definitely come back.

We finally stopped by and boy was it an experience. We decided to indulge and got the Poke Bowl (2 scoops), Nico Burrito, and Calamari Filet. Their Poke Bowl is spicy ahi, seaweed salad, ginger, and a drizzle of sauce. So fire! The fish is super fresh. No notes! The Nico Burrito features battered white fish, rice, beans, and pico. Mayhaps the best fish burrito I've ever had. Lastly, the Calamari Filet which I think is a limited time special. Super tender, thick pieces of squid! Everything was just so fresh. The ingredients really spoke for themselves!

We stopped in for an early dinner around 4:30 PM, and it was already fairly busy. There aren't a ton of tables inside or outside, but we were able to find a spot. Shortly after we ordered, the line stretched out the door, so I was glad we arrived when we did. The menu is fairly simple and focuses on a handful of fresh seafood options. We ordered the Grilled Shrimp Burrito, an 8 oz Red Snapper Ceviche, and the Crispy Rice Poke. Our food came out quickly. The shrimp burrito wasn't enormous, but it was a good size and came with guacamole, which was a nice addition. The shrimp was cooked well and nicely seasoned. The ceviche was fresh and flavorful, though I did find it a bit pricey at $15 for the portion size. My favorite dish was the Crispy Rice Poke. The crispy rice was topped with tuna, ginger, seaweed, and several sauces that added a lot of flavor and texture. Every bite had a nice balance of savory, tangy, and fresh flavors. Overall, the food was good, and it's definitely a solid spot if you're looking for fresh poke or seafood. Just keep in mind that the menu is intentionally simple, so there isn't a huge variety of options if you're looking for a more extensive selection.

It was absolutely packed when I visited, and finding a seat felt like a challenge. I eventually snagged a little desk in the corner. Sure, it was next to the bathroom, but honestly I was just happy to have my own little workspace. I ordered a lavender ube latte, half sweet, and it was so good. The flavors were perfect, and the temperature was spot on. Also, can we take a moment for their ceramic cups? So cute! For food, I tried their Cali vegan sandwich. It was okay, but I was hoping for a little more flavor. It felt a bit dry, and the fries weren't very hot by the time they arrived. Given how busy the place was, I'm guessing that may have played a role. Overall, it's a solid place to hang out, grab a coffee, or get some work done if you can find a table.
