My friend and I check out a new Cafe every week and we decided to check out Honey Cafe. To me it was a one and done but it is cute if you want to check it out. We both got a peanut butter latte mine was cold and hers was hot. If you're looking for a sweet drink this is not the drink to get. I don't mind that so mine was fine. But my friend did not like hers so she asked for some sweetener in it and the only thing I had to make it sweeter was honey. I do find that odd they did not offer her sugar or anything. They have a store that connects to the cafe where you can purchase some candles or jewelry etc. We walked around there where we waited for our coffee. I'm assuming it's the same owner but I'm not sure. They do have food to order as well but we did not order any. Parking is street parking only but we found some a block away in the residential area. Nestled in a suite next door to a wellness boutique in the Bird Rock neighborhood, you will find Honey Cafe. It's a cozy little space run by a local couple. The decor was very simple with a surfboard hanging on one of the walls. The menus behind the service counter were written on butcher paper rolls while a couple of other chalkboards hung to the side and front of the counter. Flatbread, sandwiches, salads, omelettes, and paninis were the food offerings. Coffee, tea, smoothies, and vitamix juices were the beverage choices. Since I had finished a meal elsewhere, I decided to just order one of the seven smoothies. The Rock Smoothie was made up of peaches, banana, yogurt, milk, and honey. The blend was whipped up quickly and tasted fine. My issue was the price for the 16 oz serving size. All of the smoothies were either $11 or $12. The volume needed to be at least 50% more to match some of the local shops less than a couple of miles away where at one place, a 24 oz product cost less than $10. This place is super cute and clean. They also have THE CUTEST golden retriever that greets you and is super chill and welcoming. Very good boy. Food and drinks are unfortunately very mid and overpriced. I was disappointed because I ordered a smoked salmon flatbread and in the menu picture it had avocado so I ordered it based off the picture but upon receiving my order and more carefully reading what the smoked salmon flatbread included, avocado was not in the ingredients so the picture is very misleading. Service is okay. Looks like this joint is ran by a couple so they're taking and making the orders so it was a bit of a wait for our food and drinks to come out despite only two small parties being there. Parking wise, you'll need to find street parking, it's located around a residential area and we didn't struggle too much to find parking a short walking distance. read more

Beautiful space and incredibly friendly service (from the owner, Çem). We were walking in the area after a stroll by the beach, and the sandwich board on the curb, with promises of Turkish Breakfast, drew us in. The interior of the shop is bright and airy, and the menu is equally inviting. Çem couldn't have been friendly or more welcoming (and shared the various stories of his rescue pets, photos of which are featured prominently in the cafe). We opted for a zucchini omelette, which was fresh and flavorful, and topped with sprigs of dills and dashes of feta. Yum. We'd already had coffee earlier in the morning otherwise we would've downed a Turkish coffee...and been wired through the afternoon. Çem mentioned that his mother-in-law would be visiting soon, and would teach him and his wife how to make traditional borekas. This was a very odd experience for us. The owners kids had their toys all over the cafe and the staff was not friendly. It felt like we were invading their home lol.
