    Açaí bowl
    Angela B.

We were coming back from windnsea beach and decided to stop here and try their açaí bowl. I was sorely disappointed. It was pretty mediocre and expensive for its size. My pic says it all. Not much else to say but we won't be coming back

Top notch salads and sandwiches. I was impressed by the Arugula Salad on my most recent visit.

Food is fresh and huge in size at a reasonable price. Service is self-serving, but I am lucky today because he brought it out and served it at the table. Ambiance includes outdoor seating.

If you want to wait 30+ minutes for an açaí bowl when it's not crowded come here... staff did not even communicate that they were behind had to go up and ask. Horrible service, will not be coming back. What the heck!

    Margarita Pizza with Bacon

I recently dined at Lark & Owl with my husband, cousin, and our dogs. It was the first time with our puppies eating out, so Lark & Owl was a perfect spot to test how they would do given the outdoor seating is spread out and that we could order ahead of time. I ordered through the Slice app and our food was ready when promised, maybe even earlier. The folks at Lark & Owl brought out our pizzas and a chicken parm sandwich. He offered us plates, but we just chose to eat from the pizza boxes. Grated parm and red pepper flakes were provided along with peppers for the chicken parm sandwich. My husband enjoyed his chicken parm. My cousin liked the philly pizza and I ordered the margarita with bacon. Not only did the pizza taste delicious, it looked great too! Service was very friendly. You can also order through UberEats or DoorDash to get it delivered, but if you're picking up, I recommend ordering through the Slice app. I did order once through DoorDash on a Saturday morning (after 10AM) and hoping to pick up after walking there, but they weren't open. My order was eventually canceled when it wasn't confirmed, but I wasn't notified by DoorDash until 20 minutes later when I was standing at Lark & Owl. So, I recommend calling ahead to make sure they are open since their website hours state they are open every day (pretty much all day). Note, they operate out of a kiosk, so seating is only outdoors on the sidewalk.

My dog and I came here for breakfast and had a wonderful experience. The customer service was great, the lovely girl working helped me pick what to order and prepared it promptly after. She then brought over my sandwich and smoothie to my table which was greatly appreciated. The ambiance and asthetic was very calming and my meal was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to come back and try more options! We ordered the caprese sandwich and cleanser smoothie, both which I would highly reccomend.

The meatball sandwich was really good good flavor and not too much sauce. I ate the leftover and heated it up in a toaster oven and it was delicious crunchy and flavorful. The caprese sandwich was just as delicious. I got it with out the olives and it didn't disappoint. The pizza was average. Not excellent but not bad either. I'd eat here again.

Lark & Owl is a kiosk stationed near one of the roundabouts along La Jolla Blvd in the Bird Rock neighborhood. The menu offered a range of smoothies, acai bowls, sandwiches, salads, and pizzas. A few tables were available near the establishment where you could enjoy your food and drink on-site. Given their location, I was impressed that they stay open until midnight because the foot traffic dwindles after sunset. My choices were The Vaccine for a beverage and a Pastrami sandwich. The smoothie consisted of orange juice, tangerine juice, mango, banana, and turmeric. The tangerine was a unique component as its juice is not one I have seen offered elsewhere. Tart and tangy would be the best way to describe the drink. As for the sandwich, their version was served on French bread instead of between two slices of bread like rye. Yellow mustard, provolone cheese, and onions were the accompaniments. It was more like a compact hoagie than a traditional pastrami sandwich that I have purchased at delicatessens. For the price, I would like to have seen more slices of meat.

Have lived in LJ for many years and this little hut has had many businesses come and go. I decided to try this place for the first time after reading reviews and was pleasantly surprised. My salad as excellent! Was sitting with other people that had a sandwich and pizza and they also said their food was delicious. Will definitely be back.

Could you tell me a bit about the salmon and where it's sourced from?

The salmons name was Madison. Madison was raised non binary from vegan parents and went to an ivy league school. Madison could have been a little more fatty but overall he,she, him, her was alright.

I just tried to place an order for either delivery or pickup. Are you closed on Sundays? Yelp would only let me pre order for tomorrow.…

Hi Nancy! Sorry we missed your question until now. Yes we are open on Sundays

The interior is very chill filled with history about the location and a mostly blue/white palate. There is a display of the fishes of the day in the front although usually there is a line, especially during the summer months. Nico's has several menu items centered around their seafood - poke, a plate, tacos, burritos, oyster shooters, and ceviche (think I most of them but may be forgetting a few). They get their seafood fresh every morning. Once you order, you can find a table both inside or outside and wait for your order to be called. Usually the line isn't too long and pretty efficient. And the staff is super nice in telling you about their favorite fishes of the days and recommendations. They also have some drink items including beer, sparkling water, and sodas along with water stations near the front and their signature Nico sauce. Here's a few items we've gotten over the couple years we've been here: *Fish Ceviche: The ceviche comes with some chips and in different sizes (4, 8, 16 ounces). For two people, the 4 oz. usually is good to tide us over until the meal is ready. It is a good balance between being lime-y and full of nice herbs/spices. *Taco: They have a few different taco options. I've tried the Nico which is delicious and is their constant panko crusted snapper item. But I really like to usually go for some of their fish of the day options like the salmon and swordfish which are even tastier. It comes with items you'll find in many of their other items like the Lily mayo-like sauce, pickled onions, melted, avocado and corn tortilla. It's delicious and is even better with their Nico Sauce. *Plate: This though is my usual order where you get the fish of your choice blackened or with lemon garlic butter with a bed of rice, pico de gallo, pickled onion, avocado, Lily sauce on the side. It helps the seafood sing more on its own and like all the items separated. For two people ordering two tacos + a plate + 4 oz. ceviche and a sparkling water, it came out to around $55ish which felt fair. Parking is a bit hit-or-miss around the immediate area. During the summer months in particular, we usually aren't able to find parking nearby and have to park across the street or at adjacent streets. Nico's is a fantastic stop that we constantly come back to for nearly each of our San Diego trip.

It's easily one of my favorite breakfast and lunch spots in PB whether I'm grabbing something quickly on my way to work or having a cute morning brunch with the girls. The food is always fresh and delicious, everything is beautifully presented, and the staff is always so sweet and helpful. The space itself is on the smaller side with both indoor and outdoor seating, but that's honestly part of its charm. It's cozy, intimate, and almost feels like you're going over to someone's cute house for breakfast. It's one of my favorite spots for a morning with the girls or even a birthday brunch. My two favorites are definitely the protein pancakes and the chicken tacos with coleslaw instead of beans they honestly fight for the #1 spot depending on the day I also love the pesto eggplant sandwich, mahi tacos, and chilaquiles. And if you love tacos, definitely come on a Tuesday because they're 50% off for Taco Tuesday! As a personal trainer, one of the things I appreciate most is that they list the protein content of different menu items. I recommend Armonia to my clients all the time because it's somewhere you can find nutritious, balanced options that actually taste amazing. They also make it super easy to order online and grab something between clients or on my way to work. I love supporting a small local business that has become such a staple in my routine. After all these years, it's still one of my absolute favorite spots in Pacific Beach

I…read moredidn't get a chance to read others reviews first but did notice that they had a stellar Yelp rating, so here goes: Armonía Kitchen has a cute little cafe like feel to it. You walk up and order at the counter and then take a seat. Space is very limited inside--one or two high tops and a few regular tables. They also offer outdoor seating with a nice patina garden vibe out front adjacent to Garnet. I was a little confused by the menu and asked if it was a vegan restaurant. They explained it is not but that they have plenty of plant based options. I ordered the mushroom carnitas Skinny Burritos and a Chaga Latte. The burritos were good but not what I expected. They are smaller burritos (yet very filling--one was more than enough for me). Very savory. My brain was confused though. Don't get me wrong, they were tasty, but there is something I can't put my finger on that didn't work for me. The ingredients were all very fresh and love the fact there was guacamole included in the burritos. The Chaga Latte was among the best I've had. They make their own Chaga powder here and I could feel the difference. It was a little sweet for my taste but the mushrooms were potent and I felt great after just a few sips. The heart decor was a nice added touch. People all around me to amazing looking pancake, bowls and egg dishes. I will definitely return to try again and see if we can add one more star!
