Me and my boyfriend came in based off of the reviews. Neither of us have ever had British food before but now we found our favorite spot ever. We had Walt as a server and he was beyond kind, helpful, and right on the money with his recommendations. We had the Robin hood sandwich and the fish & chips. But the star of the meal was dessert: the Biscoff bomb. We love dessert and we have never ever had anything as amazing as this. The food was super well priced for what we got and the food was filling. We also got a nice cheap cocktail that was well made, balanced, and not overwhelmed with a bunch of ice like other places try to do. This is a very charming place. Not what you expect to find in a strip mall. The menus also was a nice surprise, they offer way Bristol food than the normal fish and chips. When the food was served we were suppress how much care and professional the plates and meals looked. This is not like the other places around this neighborhood where they just slap food on a plate from a grill; I would call it fine dinning at incredible prices. Had lunch there earlier today. I got the Steak & Mushroom Pie. Very tasty. Beef was very tender, gravy full of flavor. Side was chips. For dessert I had the Spotted Dick. Yes, that's a real British dessert, so get your mind out of the gutter!! It was good. My server was very nice and did a great job. To me, the only negative was the interior. Looked more like a Beef O'Brady type sports bar that an English Pub. But that would not stop me from returning for another meal. Next time I think I'll try the Fish & Chips. This is by far the best spot for English food in central Florida! Forget all the various "British" pubs around, this restaurant takes the cake. The sausage rolls are just like the ones grandad makes, and the pies are out of this world. Owners are nice, personable, and bit cheeky but they're the best. I'll cut straight to the chase. I ordered the roast beef and cheddar sandwich accompanied by the potato salad. The sandwich was nothing special with little meat and was rather dry. It actually looked nothing like the pictures I saw on Yelp. The potato salad was overpowered with dill and mayo. The cottage pie ordered by a few in our group said it was very good. Another in the group ordered the steak and mushroom dish and said it was ok but never saw a mushroom. The child's cheese sandwich was fine, but was only a sandwich, no side or drink with it. Service was slow which seemed odd as we were one of the only customers in the dining area. The gentlemen serving us were very nice but lacked in following up on our service after we finally received our food. Chances are we will not return as there are many other options for dining that I personally would prefer. I know the business will be fine however, as I have read many nice reviews. Stopped by here for lunch after checking out the cat cafe down the road. Coincidentally his sister texted while we were waiting for our food saying that their family was thinking of checking it our for dinner. We took a picture of the front door from our seats and said we'd tell them how the food tasted. I got the chicken curry pie and my boyfriend got the cottage pie. I tried a bit of his and both were delicious! The crust on the curry pie was nice and flaky. The overall flavor of everything was delightful. It was so good that we decided to come back for dinner with the rest of our family a few hours later. Totally glad we did. I got the fish tacos as my entree and my goodness, I think it's the best fish taco I've ever had. With the food as good as it was we figured the desserts had to be amazing. Went for a Sunday proper roast dinner. I would have been better off microwaving a frozen dinner. The special was pork roast. They were barely bits of pork shoved under a heaping lump of stuffing that looked like they were scraps from the bottom of the pan. There was no roast pork anywhere to be found on my plate. The mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a can. The roasted potatoes were like rocks And the veg was from a tin. Very disappointed. Even the Yorkshire pudding was a soggy lump. read more

It looked like it would have been good food but they refused to allow us to order (not even to go) since they were closing in less than 10 minutes. Maybe the closing time should be 2:50pm not 3pm. This place is such a great spot to grab a cup of coffee and eat a fresh eclair. I went there for lunch twice and the food was phenomenal. I highly recommend the little john sandwich. I've been hearing a lot of good things about The Friar Tuck and we finally got a chance to try it today. We ordered the Chicken Pot Pie and the Cottage Pie and they are both delicious! The vegetables in the pies are perfectly cooked. The green beans are perfectly cooked as well and have just the right bite to them. The mashed potatoes are pure heaven. They are easily up there with best mashed potatoes I've ever had. They have so much flavor. We can't wait to come back and try more from the menu. read more

The server suggested some HP sauce to go on top. Holy sh!t! WHERE HAVE SCOTCH EGGS BEEN ALL MY LIFE??? So good! We both had sandwiches for our main meals and they were great. The potato salad is quite good. We were stuffed but we did make room for a "donut" that the server suggested. It was like an éclair topped with the lightest cream you can imagine. SO. GOOD. MY. GOD. My only "complaint" is that the menu is not that extensive. I wish they'd had more dishes that I'd seen when I was in the UK. Still, I'd go back just to eat like 34 Scotch Eggs. Bonus: they have a small area where you can buy sauces, jams, cookies/biscuits, chips/crisps, tea, etc. I wanted to buy everything. Blimey!! The Friar Tuck has it going on. This is authentic British food that goes well beyond Shepard's Pie. It is a fun British atmosphere and the proprietor is charming, generous, gracious and truly cared about our experience. In all my trips across the pond, I have never had food this good and, in fact, would complain about the state of British cuisine. I recommend all Brits to try The Friar Tuck and bring home some of that Nottingham charm to the restaurants there. For us Americans, The Friar Tuck is the only instance we might regret the revolution but hey, now we have the food anyway and just a few miles from Disney!!! Take a glance at the menu on Yelp. Everything we tried was delicious. We had sausages in pastry rolls, sundried tomato and brie pillows with berry sauce, meat pie (mmmm), crumpets (not at all an English muffin I learned), scotch eggs (sage and onion sausage wrapped around a hard-boiled egg), baked bean bag (heinz baked beans in a pastry bag), tuna melt on Jackson's white bread and more. We could not get enough. The kids were happy with their meals as well. I had Emily's Tour of England myself (could easily have served two) which provided me with extra to take home. There are fun British signs and chotchkies throughout the restaurant. Displays on one side provide a British mini-mart with candies, chocolates, take-home crumpets and other delicacies. We were here as refugees from Hurricane Irma and we were blown away by this experience. I want to emphasize how wonderful was the caring service and extra touches. I felt like we were in a British Bed and Breakfast. Loved it! We will return every time we come to Disney or are in the Orlando area. What a fantastic place!!! We were treated like royalty at this excellent little place! The tomato basil soup was just delicious with a side of crunchy bread and a Parmesan crisp! We followed that with a roast beef and cheddar for him and sun-dried tomato and Brie pastry for me! The roast beef sandwich had a very generous helping of meat and the perfect mix of flavors with just a hint of horseradish on freshly baked bread! The puff pastry was stuffed with cheese and tomato and made a decadent, delicious plate! With a bit of encouragement from our lovely English server, we indulged in homemade bread pudding, a fresh cream doughnut and an eclair! This was just an amazing afternoon! We came here to eat lunch one day after reading the rave reviews. Upon entering the place, we saw that it was a cute looking restaurant. Hubs ordered the Steak and Kidney pie and thought it was pretty good but didn't think it was extraordinary. Daughter ordered the Brie and Tomato Flip Flop and liked it. She thought it tasted ok. I ordered Cheese and Onion Pasty and thought it was ok. We also decided to try other items on the menu as well. We also ordered Scotch Eggs and thought sage and onion sausage was a little tough because it was possibly a little too lean. We also ordered the Sausage Roll and thought that was the best item we ordered. Owner was very friendly. She gave us the 10% off our bill for checking in with Yelp. I always get the chicken and mushroom pie and the crust is so light and flakey, but tonight it was rather heavy and doughy. It definitely was not freshly made.
