So, My BF and I walked in here expecting good service since he needed to get his tux fitted (we were already in their system), but wow. Talk about worst service ever! There was literally only one person working, and apparently he was the manager. I forgot his name, perhaps, David, Daniel, or something along those lines? (I'm bad with names) He told us that it would take a little while for him to help us since he was helping another customer who was ordering tuxes for his wedding (he had no clue as to what he wanted for his wedding). Therefore, it took forever. I waited for almost 45 minutes, and we honestly just needed to get his tux fitted which would have only taken 15 minutes. My BF had to go to the doctors, so we had to leave. Yeah it took THAT LONG. What a waste of time! I would have understood if I was given an approximation of when he would be able to help us, or just ask for us to come back, rather than allowing us to wait for almost an hour and have to leave. I suggest that the manager needs to hire more people, at least have another person working there as well. It seems a little illogical for there to be only one person working. What made me even more upset was the fact that he just kept talking, on and on (excessively) with the other customer, as if we were nonexistent. Please, learn how to manage your customers. This was truly disappointing. I would recommend for everyone to go to the other Friar Tux Shops, definitely NOT THIS ONE. read more

So I'm looking for a tux for the wedding and we stop in at Friars for a look around. The guy who helped us, Al, was extremely informative about the different cuts to a tuxedo and the small differences. He was extremely helpful. I gave this place only 3 stars because they didn't have that many styles and you can't even try on the different jackets to see what cut fits best. I know when I went suit shopping, all the styles of the jackets and pants fit differently for each brand and I'm sure its the same with tuxedos. Don't you think that people will want to try on different styles of tuxedos before their wedding to make sure they find the right fit? I don't really understand how you can choose something without trying something on. read more

I used them for my wedding recently. Great interactions in store. But, When my husband picked up his suit, they unfortunately did not have the right pants that were fitted for him initially. This was 2 days before the wedding and it sent me to panic mode. We got them the next day, but as a bride, hearing the groom not have the right pair of pants can get a little stressful. After the wedding. All I heard from my husband was how horrible it was when the guys started putting their suits on the day of the wedding, some realizing that buttons were missing as well as cufflinks. If I had any attention to detail and if these things were that important to me, I probably would have given 1 star. But, again in store interactions was amazing. Logistics and operations. I normally don't do reviews but i feel like i have to because the customer service was non existent when i came here. I've been here before for my brothers wedding and everything went smoothly and all 10 of his groomsmen and family were able to come and get fitted all at the same time. But when i went for my wedding and brought 3 of my groomsmen, we couldn't get fitted or anything. And i had to pay 60 bucks to set an appointment for the guys to get fitted one at a time? Nothing made sense and almost everything was out of stock. The hours don't make sense either. During the week you close at 8 but on Sunday's close at 5. That's a huge difference. And they locked the door when we were inside. That's called a fire hazard. I'm never coming back to this place again. Don't bother responding to this. I don't want to hear it. The lady who helped us was no help. I told her we were there for a wedding and she was like ok what do you want? And in my head I'm like what do you mean what do i want? Ok so we went to men's wherehouse to rent tuxs for me (groom) and 8 other guys who needed tuxs for our wedding which was under 3 weeks away. Well needless to say don't go to men's where house unless you need to buy a suit, so with lil time to spare my brother found friar tuxs around the corner and we showed up un announced 1 hour before close...not knowing what to expect we were helped by Mark B. This guy was awesome!!!, showed us everything we wanted to see, gave us a few tips and made everything so smooth. Actually the entire team was great!!...but Mark was the hero of the night, we left after closing, everyone was measured and the perfect tuxs were picked out. Friar Tux saved me! I was looking for a french cuffed slim fit shirt at South Coast Plaza and went to the department stores, which only had one or two french cuffed shirts that weren't tux shirts, but they didn't have any slim fit ones, they all felt like I was wearing bedsheets. Stores have adapted to modern slim fit fashions for the most part but are still lacking that for slightly dressier occasions. All the other stores I went to (J Crew, Banana Republic, Express, CK, etc.) were no help either, and most didn't even have french cuffed shirts. I didn't want to drop $200 on a shirt and didn't want to get it altered but luckily, just when I gave up hope, the Bloomingdale's salesman suggested Friar Tux. I'd driven past it before (it's not connected to the main mall, but it's near the new Din Tai Fung they're building) so I went in there and they had a perfect one for $40! The service there was fantastic. Angel, who helped me out, was attentive and quick and friendly, and then I started asking him questions about some of the other things they carry. It seems like they just have one set of suits/tuxes that come in regular, modern, or slim fit, and in different colors. So it's pretty basic in selection but varied enough to adapt. I tried on a slim fit jacket and it fit amazingly well, and I'm tall and skinny and have a difficult body that doesn't fit a lot of stock dress shirts/suits but they staff were knowledgeable and helpful. The prices are extremely reasonable at $189, but the materials on the suits are a blend (though there's a 100% wool tux available for slightly more) so it's not super high end stuff but you get a great looking suit that won't blow your budget. I spent some time talking with Angel about ties and cufflinks and pocket squares and he even showed me a few different folds on the pocket squares, and I picked up a tie and a pocket square for a really good price. Excellent service and affordable clothing if you know what you want. You won't get the selection of a department store but I'm coming back here in the future for sure! read more

The service and knowledge varies, depending on who helps you with the fitting. ASK QUESTIONS, and do your research before hand, and know the difference between the different styles of lapels. The woman that helped me didn't know difference in lapels, and didn't how their buttoned shirt received studs and cufflinks. TRY EVERYTHING ON. When I went to pick up the tux, the coat and pants didn't fit. Luckily the wedding was driving distance away. But I had to force them to have the corrections done by the following day, because of our schedule. They don't leave much room for errors being resolved. read more

Walked in and was instantly greeted by Felipe, I was there to get fitted for yet another wedding I'm in (not in love with getting fit for tuxedos). Felipe quickly pulled up the information and we got to work. I expected to only be quickly measured and then be out the door like some other tux rental locations. I was ushered into a changing room to actually try on everything. Came out and Jose was there to assist and ensure that my rental tux would fit appropriately. I can't say enough about their professionalism and care. They made a great impression on what customer service is all about. I go back today to pick up the tux for the wedding this weekend!
