Came in to get some suit rentals for my groomsman and I for my wedding. Suits looked decent that they had on display, so we went ahead and got fitted to place an order. They had us sign some paperwork and sent us on our way. Now be warned, these guys will try to give you your suit TWO DAYS before your wedding. Thank God I got them to agree to at least let me try mine on a few weeks in advance, which they did as a "courtesy". And good thing I did, because not only did they order me the completely wrong suit, but the thing looked like a pair of hand-me-down pajamas that you'd get from your great-grandfather. Not to mention the rental shoes they give you look like plastic bowling shoes. It didn't look formal at all and my fiancées face nearly sank when she saw it on me. It fit fine, but the suit was just horrendous... definitely not fit for a wedding. So I ended up canceling all of our orders and renting at Men's Warehouse (which has been a MUCH better experience). I then find out that two of my groomsman had paid deposits at Friar Tux, but they won't refund them because they're apparently "non-refundable" deposits which was never mentioned to us when we first signed the contracts. The associate even had the audacity to say that my other groomsman "lucked out" because they didn't pay the deposit up front, insinuating that they wouldn't have received refunds, either. WTH? Anyway, if you're looking for prom rental or middle school dance outfit on the cheap, then MAYBE this place is ok. But if you're looking for a wedding suit for a formal occasion, I'd carefully explore your options. read more

Tux looked nice but fit poorly for the cost of the service. The clothes seem to be off the shelf items. It seems they just have as many sizes as available and just send whatever is closest. (Please note I did get my measurements from a professional tailor). On returning my suit via mail I was charged for missing shoes. I can say with certainty they were in the package considering they were about a third of its volume and half its weight. furthermore, I get paranoids about this kind of stuff and tend to triple check its all in the package at home and once more before actually shipping it. So.... yea, in total between fees for a late/missing shoes, shipping, and the tux itself it cost me about 295 dollars for an ill fitting although nice looking suit for a single night. That's about $27 per hour worn. My advice, just buy your own suit. you will likely wear it multiple times, you could actually have it modified to fit you properly, and in the long run, it will be far cheaper (only exception would be if you need something unusual). Over all I have been left with a very bad taste in my mouth and will be recommending to everyone I know to avoid friar tux when looking for formal clothes. read more

I've got to say I had a very different experience for my wedding than my friend Alex G. It's been almost 3 years since my wedding and I've put off writing this review. I am so disappointed that we used Friar Tux for our wedding. The tuxedos were in poor condition, some were dirty and many were missing items. The limo with the groomsmen actually had to stop here on the way to the wedding to retrieve the missing items. I also never got the gift cards that were promised with my package. Unfortunately I can't recommend them to anyone, and wish we would have just purchased suits instead. read more

My fiancé, Ian and I went in to look at some options for our wedding. We looked at a book, but never got any service. We got a greet at the door and asked what we needed. But as soon as he figured out it was a gay wedding, that was the last time we saw him. We then waited about 20 mins for him to come back. We looked for another place and finally walked out the door. Terrible service toward the LGBT community. This was the first time I had been discriminated against. read more

I was a little skeptical about this place at first, but the minute I walked in I was greeted by Michael Robles who introduced himself to us and right away asked us what we were looking for. We told him our ideas and he instantly helped us immensely! He took the manikin of the suit we wanted and was able to switch out the vest the manikin was wearing and put on another one we saw! He matched the suit, vest, and tie with what we were thinking of and also gave us his professional advice with what looked great. He went out of his way and went to the back to find us other colors that were not on display! He was amazing and made our experience better than we could have imagined! Even with prom season being so busy they took the time to help my son and get him what he needed. When we went to pick up the tux there was a lot of people in the store but everything was organized and done in a very efficient manner. Thankfully my son's date didn't wait till the last minute to get her dress so we were able to go early this week and get the style and color tux he wanted. My Grandpa and my Dad had gone to this store to look for a tuxedo for my sisters 15th on 3/10/19. This store had a variety of options to choose from and they were interested in renting from them. Customer service was HORRIBLE!!!! We were not greeted and 3 employees were working that day. A bunch of people were in the store. 2 out of the 3 workers were attending to customers before and the lady worker was just looking at everyone standing around not doing anything!!!! I highly don't recommend going to this particular location in Tustin. read more

Nice and friendly staff but unfortunately I wasted a lot of time here. Went in to purchase a tuxedo shirt on a Friday. Told me it will arrive Monday morning. Monday noon, I drove to pick it up. Was told it wasn't there yet and it should be in the van coming in around 3pm. Decided to just come in the next day (Tuesday) instead...came in at 3:30pm. Again, "oh its not here". Employee was very apologetic, but I wasted 3 trips to the store for nothing. Just canceled order and will find shirt somewhere else. read more

A very convenient place to go if you haven't got much time on your hands to get a nice suit or tux. When I got my bought my suit they had it ready the day after! Whether you pick up a suit from their store or you have them prepare one for you, don't worry, you won't have to wait forever to get your suit! Customer service is very good at this location. The taxes are not high end but very serviceable for a wedding or the occasional black tie gala. Based on the rental price you would be better off purchasing your own custom fitted tux if you plan to use it more than once a year. read more

After being fitted and trying on the tuxedo I wanted for my wedding, I walked out of the shop before paying and committing to a tuxedo that was way too big for me because the man (Jonathon) working there was very rude. He had me try on clothes way too big for me, after telling him I wanted a slim suit. I honesty felt like I was in a parachute suit. He had me try on a 3Xl shirt, when I wear a size large shirt in my every day life. The part that really bothered me is he was wearing a slim fit suit, so he should know what I was looking for. read more

My fiancé and I came to this store with a set appointment that was made online for 4pm that day. We arrived and we weren't greeted, we noticed that an older man and another younger employee were helping a party of about 5 guys which was fine and we asked if we had to check in anywhere and the older guy replied with no you guys need to wait a while until we are done. This is fine, we began looking around the store for a potential tux for my fiancé. But 20mins later we still didn't get helped. The older man finally came and asked for our names rudely, I told him I had made an appointment online and received two text messages to confirm my appointment. He began looking us up online and said he couldn't find anything. I proceeded by showing him the text message confirmations and he said that was sent from corporate and he wasn't told! At that point we were getting annoyed since we had waited and now he was telling us he couldn't find our appointment. But we decided to keep our cool and tell him that we had looked at a couple of the suits in the store and my fiancé wanted to try them on. The older man then began telling us that that location was a showroom and that my fiancé couldn't try anything on! At that point we were enraged! We basically wasted all this time waiting around for nothing! Why weren't we informed before?! He told us we could go to the Anaheim friar tux to try things on. We left the store and called the Anaheim location, they were so accommodating. Desie the manager took us in and gave us a great experience! Overall, avoid this orange location, they are rude and don't care for costumer service! read more
