My friends whole wedding party was not measured right just neck and arm. They are big stalky guys and put in a slim fit rental and to top it off they tried to make my friend the groom feel like it was all his fault for the whole situation. When it was a new guy doing the measurements and inputting the information who was a manager that's supposedly not working there now and they have new ones. They had to reorder all the wedding party's rentals which still weren't great. The father of bride picked up his rental and the person who was helping him disappeared and then the person that finally helped him forgot to put his pants back in bag so day of wedding someone had to get them and they still didn't fit. So too many blaming on the customer and not the employees and trying to push the groom off like it's no big deal. I've worked in tux rental and never had this many problems. During getting ready there was buttons popping off so they had to make due because wedding was starting. Also they weren't cleaned or checked before rented out found stuff in pockets. I have to give this place 5 stars because of the ultra superior service we received when we called them last minute for a photo booth. Did all of you know that they rent out photo booths for events like weddings and proms? Well, guess what? They do and if you're planning an event, a photo booth is a unique addition to any party! I called them in a tizzy because our other photo booth vendor backed out at the last minute. I remember how much fun we had at my best friend's wedding and decided to try to get them for my wedding. Not only were they so accommodating, but they gave us the tux rental discount. By the way, if you rent tuxs' at this shop, you get a crazy discount on the photo booth. And they don't skimp either. It ended up being about $500 LESS than any other photo booth company I checked out. They not only did an awesome job with the pictures and entertaining our guests, they gave us a REALLY nice photo album and had our guests put their pictures in the book and sign it. They brought all kinds of props, pens for signing the book and tons of decorations. After our wedding was over, they gave us the flash drive, our album AND gave us login info for the online gallery. We got so many compliments on our photo booth and it was just the extra touch that we needed to make our wedding unique. Thank you Friar! Service was kinda blah. But, they seemed to know what they were doing. I'm always expecting really good service in a recession because you'd figure they be really trying to drum up business or make sure they keep their jobs in these tough times, but didn't really get the sense of urgency from the staff. They're all kinda just standing around. It's also pretty hard to park there. You can't really get into the parking lot coming north on Tustin, so you have to go around the block or flip a U and turn into the small driveway heading South. read more

This location Friar Tux Shop is just the place. I recently got married and went here to rent my Tux and those of my groomsmen. HUNTER (the agent) provided great service and is definitely a person one can converse and relate to. He will provide his honest opinion and even tailor your Tux in a last minute emergency fixture. Went in today (3/15/14) to select a suit for my fiancé and his groomsmen to wear to our wedding in July, 2014. Thinking it was appropriate we made an appointment for 1pm so we would get the attention that we needed seeing neither of us knew what we were in for. We walked in and we're not greeted with a hi or hello for a few minutes. Finally, once we were helped we were told the girl we were working with was going to be bouncing back and forth between us and another appointment. Fine, I guess we would have to deal. Our sales associate asked what color we were interested in and I said a gray suit for sure. They had 1 suit and 3 tuxes! The suit that we liked only came in slim fit. I couldn't believe it! Against my liking my fiancé tried on the slim it and it was horrible. The pants were WAY to big at the waist and too small at the ankles...the sales associates suggestion (oh, a different associate by now because the other one was too busy and left us alone for a good 10 minutes) suspenders! Wth?! Suspenders?! Who wears those anyone?! Anyways, we decided against using Friar Tux and went to Men's Warehouse right after we abruptly left the Friar Tux appointment and found his perfect suit! I would suggest if someone makes an appointment they have available staff to handle the appointments made, plus walk-ins, plus people picking up orders. Also, I would suggest making a wider range of fits in more colors. Not everyone wants black tuxes for their wedding. Wouldn't recommend if you are looking for a suit/tux in a color besides black. read more

I went in to find a vest and found just what I needed but then the gentlemen pointed out that I had the wrong buttons on my jacket to match the vest so he just gave me some extra buttons for free. Came in to get some suit rentals for my groomsman and I for my wedding. Suits looked decent that they had on display, so we went ahead and got fitted to place an order. They had us sign some paperwork and sent us on our way. Now be warned, these guys will try to give you your suit TWO DAYS before your wedding. Thank God I got them to agree to at least let me try mine on a few weeks in advance, which they did as a "courtesy". And good thing I did, because not only did they order me the completely wrong suit, but the thing looked like a pair of hand-me-down pajamas that you'd get from your great-grandfather. Not to mention the rental shoes they give you look like plastic bowling shoes. It didn't look formal at all and my fiancées face nearly sank when she saw it on me. It fit fine, but the suit was just horrendous... definitely not fit for a wedding. So I ended up canceling all of our orders and renting at Men's Warehouse (which has been a MUCH better experience). I then find out that two of my groomsman had paid deposits at Friar Tux, but they won't refund them because they're apparently "non-refundable" deposits which was never mentioned to us when we first signed the contracts. The associate even had the audacity to say that my other groomsman "lucked out" because they didn't pay the deposit up front, insinuating that they wouldn't have received refunds, either. WTH? Anyway, if you're looking for prom rental or middle school dance outfit on the cheap, then MAYBE this place is ok. But if you're looking for a wedding suit for a formal occasion, I'd carefully explore your options. read more

I've got to say I had a very different experience for my wedding than my friend Alex G. It's been almost 3 years since my wedding and I've put off writing this review. I am so disappointed that we used Friar Tux for our wedding. The tuxedos were in poor condition, some were dirty and many were missing items. The limo with the groomsmen actually had to stop here on the way to the wedding to retrieve the missing items. I also never got the gift cards that were promised with my package. Unfortunately I can't recommend them to anyone, and wish we would have just purchased suits instead. read more

Tux looked nice but fit poorly for the cost of the service. The clothes seem to be off the shelf items. It seems they just have as many sizes as available and just send whatever is closest. (Please note I did get my measurements from a professional tailor). On returning my suit via mail I was charged for missing shoes. I can say with certainty they were in the package considering they were about a third of its volume and half its weight. furthermore, I get paranoids about this kind of stuff and tend to triple check its all in the package at home and once more before actually shipping it. So.... yea, in total between fees for a late/missing shoes, shipping, and the tux itself it cost me about 295 dollars for an ill fitting although nice looking suit for a single night. That's about $27 per hour worn. My advice, just buy your own suit. you will likely wear it multiple times, you could actually have it modified to fit you properly, and in the long run, it will be far cheaper (only exception would be if you need something unusual). Over all I have been left with a very bad taste in my mouth and will be recommending to everyone I know to avoid friar tux when looking for formal clothes. read more

But as soon as he figured out it was a gay wedding, that was the last time we saw him. We then waited about 20 mins for him to come back. We looked for another place and finally walked out the door. When we went to pick up the tux there was a lot of people in the store but everything was organized and done in a very efficient manner. Thankfully my son's date didn't wait till the last minute to get her dress so we were able to go early this week and get the style and color tux he wanted. Nice and friendly staff but unfortunately I wasted a lot of time here. Went in to purchase a tuxedo shirt on a Friday. Told me it will arrive Monday morning. Monday noon, I drove to pick it up. Was told it wasn't there yet and it should be in the van coming in around 3pm. Decided to just come in the next day (Tuesday) instead...came in at 3:30pm. Again, "oh its not here". I was a little skeptical about this place at first, but the minute I walked in I was greeted by Michael Robles who introduced himself to us and right away asked us what we were looking for. We told him our ideas and he instantly helped us immensely! He took the manikin of the suit we wanted and was able to switch out the vest the manikin was wearing and put on another one we saw! He matched the suit, vest, and tie with what we were thinking of and also gave us his professional advice with what looked great. He went out of his way and went to the back to find us other colors that were not on display! He was amazing and made our experience better than we could have imagined! My Grandpa and my Dad had gone to this store to look for a tuxedo for my sisters 15th on 3/10/19. This store had a variety of options to choose from and they were interested in renting from them. Customer service was HORRIBLE!!!! We were not greeted and 3 employees were working that day. A bunch of people were in the store. 2 out of the 3 workers were attending to customers before and the lady worker was just looking at everyone standing around not doing anything!!!! Customer service is very good at this location. The taxes are not high end but very serviceable for a wedding or the occasional black tie gala. Based on the rental price you would be better off purchasing your own custom fitted tux if you plan to use it more than once a year. read more
