"It's a rental, not a purchase," said a female senior staff. These words, uttered with disdain and disrespect, is what set me off. We ordered and measured for a suit for my son's graduation last Saturday, and Renee, the seamstress, did a very thorough measurement for my son. We went to try it on yesterday afternoon, and it wasn't nearly perfect. Renee told us to expect this, and that final minor adjustments would be necessary. My son switched from a medium to a small on the shirt, but the vest was too big, and they didn't have anything smaller for us to switch to. The suit jacket sleeve was a bit too long, so we asked them to shorten them. However when it was shortened, the cuffs looked flared out. So, we asked them to bring in the seam, so it'd look normal and straight. The guy thought it looked fine, but I did not agree. So, he brought out a senior female staff for a second opinion. Without even really looking at the suit jacket, she says, "It's a rental, not a purchase. We don't do such service." This is contrary to their claim that they make alterations for a perfect fit. $150/day rental, with a 20-30 minute measurement, and they can't bring in the seam? If they are going to shorten the sleeves, what's the big deal? I see that this place has good reviews, but I wonder how, based on such a customer-UNfriendly attitude. If you are paying $150/day for the mere "privilege" of wearing the clothes, they should be willing to make alterations so that the suit looks it's best, not just "good enough." This place had the perfect suit as well as the perfect price. Thing was that the suit was too big or too small so we got the bigger size so we can alter it. The reason I'm not giving it a five star is simply for the fact that there recommended alteration lady charged us $12 more to the original $40 invoice. Why would they ask for my number and not notify me on this change? That is what irritated me the most. Also, the young lady who helped us asked some other lady if the alteration lady accepted debit & she said yes but that was a lie. Mislead and informed. Didn't like that. Will update to a five once I find out if they give correct information regarding alteration references. I asked if they accepted debit and they said yes and once I got there they told me no, cash only. read more

My son looked into a couple of places to rent suits for his wedding party, after checking them out he went with Friar Tux. It was a great decision, everyone there was professional and courteous. They followed up with him without being annoying. With only a slight hiccup with my pants, they were able to fix by the next day with options, everything fit like a charm. My husband and his groomsmen looked so sharp and handsome in their suits for our wedding. The team at the Rancho Cucamonga store were very helpful and made them feel comfortable. Our ring bearers look so adorable in their matching suits as well. One of our ring bearers little brothers, who wasn't in the wedding but wanted to try a suit on as well. Rental prices here are extremely high. You would be better off buying your tuxedo from one of many local retailers or in LA, trust me you won't be able to notice a difference in quality. You will probably spend half as much and not have to worry about all the hassles that come with working with Friar. If you do come here expect them to be way understaffed near the end of the week when most people are picking up tuxedos, something you think they would plan for. Don't be surprised if crucial aspects of the business don't work such as their credit card readers. You can also expect other minor issues like them misspelling your name causing added difficulty finding your reservation. read more

What a waste if time even walking into this store. They employees did not want to help us at all. I don't think they even greeted us when we walked in, mind you the store is about as big as a walk in closet. Anyway, we told them what we were looking for and they basically pointed us to two suits, said you can't try them on because they have to order the size, then said we have plenty of time and don't really need to get anything yet. Really?! We are coming into the store to buy the outfit ahead of time so that we don't have to do it last minute. Get fitted, with great recommendations on the latest style and trends, but ultimately went with the clean classic look. Wow. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody!! I chose them to rent all of the tuxes for our guys in the wedding and all but 1 had a problem with there tux. My wedding was in April of 2015, we booked our rentals in January. My dad is a big guy (wearing 3XL) so I asked if they could send out a tux for him to try on before the wedding , they said no because they only send out tuxes 2 days before the event. I knew right then I should have walked away, but my husband loved there Michael Kors tux. Of course nobody contActed us to double check sizes and colors so thankfully I called about 3 weeks before the wedding to make sure everything was ready to go and THEY HAD THE WRONG PICK UP DATE IN THE COMPUTER!!! I was super upset being that we booked them 3 months prior. On the day of pick up, It was prom and there were about 50 people waiting to pick up tuxes. Friar could have giving us a warning and given out time frames when they know there going to be this busy!!!! It took us 2.5 hours to get 3 tuxes! Everything (shirt, jacket, pants and shoes) did not fit my dad and my husbands shirt was too short!! How does this happen when you take measurements??? All in all I would never recommend this place or give them a second chance because they all act like poor customer service is expected. Go to men's warehouse! read more

Best Customer Service EVER!!! If you are looking to rent/buy a suit or get an entire wedding party fitted this is the place!! After having an awful experience across the street at Men's Warehouse we drove right over and were helped immediately without an appointment and an hour before they were closing. Eileen welcomed us in and was beyond nice and helpful! She helped us pick out everything showing us what is would look like on a mannequin and made sure we were happy the entire time. She then sized my fiance, dad and elderly grandfather and she could not have been more thorough or nice!! Never enough associates to help. Originally got wedding party fitted in Las Vegas store. They were quick attentive and still had staffing to support the high demand. Had the suits shipped to rancho location. First fitting waiting 45+ minutes and then they took another 45 min because they just seemed to want to talk. I just wanted quick and get out of there. Today waiting in line to just pick up. Called ahead. They said they would call me back in 10 min. An hour + later still no call back and here in line waiting just to pick up suits that are literally on the rack ready for pick up. Highly disappointed with this location read more

We decided to go for an impromptu tux visit to Friar Tux on a Wednesday evening. We figured it wouldn't be busy at all...gees were we wrong. We had no idea tux shops are so busy during the week. Surprisingly, even with the flow of people the staff at Friar Tux was handling all of the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Erica attended to us and was extremely helpful, sweet and thoughtful. She helped walk us through the process and provided ample ideas on what would work for our party. She was amazing! She even took the time to call Deborah's Bridal in Upland where I purchased my bridesmaid dresses to ask her mother, who happened to work there, if the handkerchief that we were ordering would match our bridesmaid dresses. Had a HORRIBLE experience, we went to check in to select a tux for prom and after we had signed in they crossed our name out and didnt check us in for another hour. We finally get fitted for the suit, schedule an appointment, and arrive a couple days later to pick up the suit. An hour and a half of waiting and being skipped over by people who barely show up after we made an appointment for 4pm. We make sure the suit fits and nothing is wrong and leave the place at 6pm. The day after prom when we were assigned to return it failed because of my job, which in general having paid 160 bucks to wait several hours and have to return it within my work schedule the very next day is incredibly foolish. Renting about 8 Tuxedo's for my wedding and I decided to use Friars. I cannot say enough about their customer service at the Friar Tux Shop in RC off of Foothill Blvd and Day Creek. Specifically, Diane was excellent. She gave me all the time I needed, was extremely helpful and offered multiple great suggestions. I'm a person whose all about service. Went to Friar Tux shop to rent for Prom on Sunday before Prom.Store was PACKED as to ALL THE HIGH SCHOOLS WERE HAVING THERES THE SAME WEEKEND.Me and my Dad signed in on the list,wait was about an hour,(expected with this many Proms going at once).The cool thing about it the staff handeled all the high stress very well,staying cool,being respectful to all and handling the business. My turn came,the guy that helped me was a great asset in picking out a BAD ASS TUX SET UP....measured me,tryed some stuff on,made a deal and we were out the door. Friday came,on the way to check the fit,busy again with all the renters,no prob.cause suit fit like owned it-,LOOKING LIKE A MILLION BUCKS,sharpe as Hell(is what my Dad says,old fashion term)!! and on my way out... Next day Prom came,Tux fit well,looking sharpe as Pop says,looking good with m girl on my arm and got a lot of compliments,had a great night FEELING & LOOKING GOOD IN MY Michael korrs suit. This tux shop is first class! The customer service was GREAT! We needed a tux for my 18 year old grandson prom. All the measurements were taken efficiently and quickly and everything fit perfect on day of pickup. They even had size 15 shoes for him which we can never find in a shoe store. Legit tux shop that I will go back to if I need a tux. Quality staff and nice clothes. My only complaint is they are not staffed to handle prom season. Took almost three hours to pickup and an hour to drop off they seemed more interested in getting new customers in instead of taking care of people that have already ordered. RENTAL PROCESS: I like the order taking process. The lady did her detail intake of what my son preferred, as to fit/size,etc (after showing exactly which style we have chosen). PRICE: Macy's rental would've been cheaper but felt that this place offer more expertise as we know nothing about Tux & how it should fit. But since I browsed their website, I knew there was a discount if you checked in on social media & tag them thru hashtag. However, I had to ask for that promo or else they won't mention it if u don't. PICK-UP/FINAL FITTING: it's a day away from the actual prom. It was busy. I had an hour to observe and see how most of the staff are so customer service oriented & friendly. But....the lady who helped my son (the same one who did the intake of my son's order & who looked like she has seniority over the others) was INCONSISTENT. I've seen her help some kids with much enthusiasm & attentiveness....and some with "whatever/ it is what is" kind of attitude. I can't quite tell why...I don't think she's racist. Maybe, just moody or just have a preference. My son is too nice to say everything is good bec he probably felt rushed by the lady. He stepped out not even knowing what the cufflinks & studs are for whereas I saw the other reps explain & show other clients how to use them. Overall: I'll say it's an okay experience.
