She didn't just point me to a few pairs--she took the time to do a proper foot measurement and fitting test to make sure I got the right size. Based on that, she even suggested specific insoles that would give me better support. I tried on several pairs with the insoles, walked around the store, and she patiently answered all my questions without ever rushing me. When I mentioned I work at Costco, she let me know I qualify for an employee discount--which was an awesome surprise and definitely made my day. I've been to this location on three different occasions .... I'm giving 2 stars because they never have what I'm looking for. Apparently my husband wears the same size as one of their employees so when there are hard to find boots in that size they are always on hold for that employee. When I was looking for the Charcoal boots for my husband for Christmas, the employee had them on hold for 2 weeks and would not sell them. The entire team was telling him to just let me buy them but he would not budge. Most recently, I was looking for a 9.5 Hawthorn boot and decided to try my luck at a different location. Unfortunately they didn't have it, but they said that the Fontana location had it ... I explained to them what I had experienced in the past and told them that they probably have it on hold. Once we were able to get through to them, they said that they have them but they were on hold. I ended up ordering through the Temecula location because I was in the area and drove to the Fontana location to see what they look like in person. The employee at the Fontana location did offer to try and order them for me, which I politely declined because I had already ordered them from the previous location and had them shipped to my house. read more

So I called the store and spoke with a Jason about the situation and he said he couldn't mail the insoles to me. I informed him that I received a message from a William S. on Yelp who said I could call the store and ask for this courtesy. The salesman, who's name is Jason said that they couldn't do it and that I would have to drive down an pick them up. I again informed him that I was instructed that this was possible and he said I would have to call back tomorrow and speak to his manager. Now being a former shoe department manager for Nordstrom I hold every interaction I have at a place if business to that standard, especially the customer service part. And I know that I would be willing to do whatever is in my power by empowering my employees to assist and correct and solve customer issues so they would be satisfied and return for more business. This is one of those incidents that as a salesman I would have offered to see if it was possible to mail them out, then I would have taken the customers info and promised to follow up after I talked with my manager. So far my first experience with this company is not been well received. Right now it's become the principle of doing right by your customer. If something was left behind and you know who it's from and you have the means to contact the customer you do so immediately, you don't wait for the customer to contact you. And you don't put the blame in them, you apologize for the situation and make them feel valued. Right now I don't feel like a valued new customer to Red Wings who would return to purchase more. read more
