Just went in to shop for my brothers prom tux! They were very busy but did not to greet all of their clients that came in! My brother found several different styles he was interested. They also had many sizes to accommodate to any size. My brother was helped by Jose, and he was amazing. Gave us the details of everything and helped us with all the decisions we needed to make. Even with an appointment, both times my fiancé and I have come to this location the wait was over 2 hours. There was one appointment we came to where our order was not even to the store yet and we waited 4 hours for the order to get to the store. Our order had multiple mistakes that we repeatedly corrected at earlier appointments, yet when we came to pick up the tux's for our wedding, we received a different color than we had asked for. The Riverside -Tyler location is much better and we have always received much better service there. I will never be coming back to this location. Very poorly managed and terrible attention to detail in a business that really requires that you listen to what people are telling you (i.e. what color tux we want for our wedding). Update: I wish I could give this place 0 stars. After getting home and trying everything on multiple tux's were measured incorrectly and do not fit. We are getting married in 3 days and now have to scramble to get correct tux's AGAIN. This has been a nightmare. We will never do business with Friar tux ever again. read more

One of the best experiences I have had while renting a tux. I have been involved in multiple weddings and have went to various places to rent a tux. This company and location by far exceeded my expectations. Erica from day one won me and my wife over. She was so helpful and pleasant to deal with. She was genuinely interested in our needs and made us feel as if she was a friend more then a salesperson. This means a lot coming from a person who is a sales manager himself. TLDR; You get fitted in suits you won't take home. Cheap suit rentals. Higher quality suits/tuxes were available in Macys. Don't recommend. As one of the groomsmen to a wedding, I recommend you to another place. We had an appt. to try on suits. Unfortunately, we groomsmen were not given a complete suit to try on, instead we had mixed brand/color jeans and jackets. I suppose the employee was just trying on suits to check our measurements, but the store should also carry the styles we want to rent, especially if they want us to pay in full or leave a deposit. When we picked up the suits, I felt they were not as good quality as the ones we were given to try on. The suits felt very basic and cheap and for $150/day I felt they could have been a better brand, not ones similar to those sold in the Fashion District of LA at half the price. Honestly, now we all regret not going to Macy's and just buying our suits there. Not only did they have more variety of suits, more colors that matched the bridesmaids, but we could've purchased and kept a Ralph Lauren or Calvin Klein suit for less than what it cost to rent here, plus they even had staff that could measure you and find your perfect suit/tux. read more

Post wedding i actually did forget to return the suit but they said theyd waive the late fee if i wrote a review, but dont let my review make me seem bias. We had a formal event to go to and my husband needed either a tuxedo or a very nice suit. He went down to Friars Tux and was going to rent a tux but they were having a sale to where you can buy a suit for the same price as the rental. He figured that would be the best way to go, he couldn't have been more wrong. He ordered a classic fit suit with shoes and vest and all the trimmings and they told him it would be in in two days. First of all it didn't come in for 4 days, and when it had finally arrived we never got a call telling us that it was here oh, I had to be the one to call them even though they said they would call us . The best part was when he went to try it on and he noticed that the guy who ordered it ordered it in a slim fit. Your average man is not a slim fit and when he orders a classic fit he expects to get a classic fit. My husband couldn't even put the pants on because they were so slim. They weren't apologetic for ordering the wrong suit and by now we were about 4 days out from our event. Their solution was to order another suit and if it didn't fit when it came in then it would basically be my husband's problem to deal with. There is no way we have enough time to order another suit and have to deal with alterations when it finally came in if they needed to be done, which they probably were going to have to alter it considering that the sales guy told my husband that when they took his measurements they try to order a suit that is somewhat close to his size, what's the sense in taking measurements if they're not going to use them? My husband was so unnerved and upset he told them just to cancel the order all together. It was such a horrible experience we will never go back there again. The only reason why they are getting two stars is because when I called the first time to see if it was there the guy was very nice and polite. read more

First time here to help my son shop for prom. I needed to write this review because the employees really impressed me. Specifically Jenna, who was the one to help my son pick out his tux. My son has autism. He is a senior in high school and this was his first dance and he was super excited to go. My son "looks normal", so sometimes when he deals with people in customer service who try to talk to him or ask him something, and he doesn't respond "appropriately", they tend to look at me for help. Jenna never did. I know she obviously knew something was different about my son, but she never wavered, she never looked confused, she never looked at me for help. She just smiled, and kept her full attention on him the whole time. She kept talking to him, and treated him just like she would anyone else. She was amazingly sweet and super helpful. On pick up, Edgar helped my son and it was the same thing. In fact, my son was super anxious that day and not in a good mood, so he was very quiet. At one point I heard Edgar trying to make small talk, and I was about to step in, when very nicely Edgar said, "Its Ok buddy, if you don't feel like talking we don't have to." And he continued helping my son try on his tux. I was so impressed with the kindness of these two individuals, that I had to write this review. OH and my son looked amazing in his tux!! I was worried about the fit. My son has long and skinny arms and legs. It's even hard for me to find jeans that fit because he's a 27 waist and a 32 length! He's also only 110 pounds. I was worried his tux would look baggy in order to have the arms leg length fit properly, but it didn't!! He looked perfect!! Awesome fit!! Thank you! ** Things do get crazy the week or two before prom. So expect to wait a while. I would recommend planning ahead and going a month before prom if you can. Came here to rent suits for my wedding. Never dealt with Friar tux before this for any kind of event needing a suit. From start to finish the entire process was quick and smooth. We were lucky enough to have Marc as the one that helped us each time we were there. Every time we walked in there he was welcoming and happy to help. Even when we walked in when things were busy he seemed to pay attention to everybody, without forgetting anybody. The people working there were great but we got all different brand suits for our wedding and they all fit different. We went in in MARCH for our MAY wedding and they didn't get the grooms shirt and vest to him until the end of April. The manufacturer didn't have it and then problem after problem occurred. Very frustrating and very stressful. I would not recommend a friar tux shop. Then I got an email asking us to rate them and how things went and replied and explained our frustrations. I had my first experience with as a groomsman and we all met at this location for a "fitting"..lol After 40mn of trying shoes, pants, shirt, jacket with a personal fitter I was charge over 150$. I though it was a little pricey for a 3 day rental when you can buy a cheap set for less than that. Anyways. I guess you pay for the experience of having all matching suits in a diff way. Clean, iron and fitted... 2 weeks later I get a txt (48hrs before weeding) about tux being ready. All 5 of us headed to this location, for some of us 25miles away and pick up the suit... Surprised surprised.. 1 of us had super a shirt with short sleeves and someone else had really short pants. My question here is... why do we spend all that time fitting. And why do we pay that much money for the experience of now being here 200 miles away from home 5 hours before the wedding picking up the suit with our fingers crossed?? read more

I think people don't know you can buy suits here. I'm an aspiring professional and unlike a lot of my peers, money is hard to come by. In the past, I came to friar tux to rent a couple tuxedos for weddings. I also indulged in buying a suit a while back as it was under $100 dollars to get the pants, the jacket, shirt, and tie. I have a very important interview coming up and I decided to see if I could get a cheap suit there. I hate discount suit shopping. You never really find suits that match. They are also usually picked through or are missing pieces. I mean the best experience overall is clearly Men's Wearhouse but you have to pay over 400-500 for a suit so that it is tailored to you. I knew from the last time I was at friar tux they measure you, find suits that suit you, and it's just as good an experience as Men's Wearhouse minus the champagne. I was lucky enough to run into Michael at Friar Tux and he made my experience enjoyable. He measured me and gave me his honest opinion on what type of suit to buy. I loved it, I got a suit, shirts, and socks. It was amazing and he deserves all the praise. I would come again for the personalized experience and the expertise. read more

This place is HORRIBLE. Zero customer service, totally unprofessional, an extreme lack of communication m. I had to drove out of my way 3 days in a row to go pick up pants that were NOT Ready each time. AFTER receiving a confirmation email that they are ready for pick up. Found this place from the internet and was baited by their great-looking suits. They are primarily a rental store, but I went there to buy an off-white vest for my wedding and was very satisfied with the item. They didn't get my vest on time because they forgot to order it, but they were busy around April due to prom. A very small store so don't expect too much as far as in-store selections of suits (to purchase). Friar Tux Shop: 1. Location - Off the foothill exit on the 15 Freeway. Located on a plaza opposite Best Buy and not to mention Mens Warehouse. 2. Service - They didn't order my vest on time but thats because they were dealing with higher-than-normal business. Makes me wonder if thats consistent when they get busy. Did see them treat their rental customers very well. 3. Products/Price - At the time I was there, they were offering suits for under $100 (pants, jacket, shirt and a tie). No prices on their rentals but my vest hit the registers just under $70 (after shopping around, this price was just a tad bit high). read more

Service is very prompt, precised, friendly, and understanding. Product for the most part is really good, the suits and slim fit cut is very well made. Suits' material on the other hand can be better. As for the tie, its horrible. I understand that both ties and bow-ties are clip ons but it can have better materials. read more

So with those discounts we got the suits , shirts, cuff links, and tie for only $109 each!!!!!!!! Men's warehouse wanted $149 each and they were super ugly suits. This is way better. Coming here to browse with little knowledge as to what I really needed was a little overwhelming.
