    Lemon poppy deviled egg!
    Molly H.

Oh my goodness, what a hidden gem! Recently visited Frick Park Tavern for a friend's birthday dinner and I was blown away by the charm and the food at this lovely spot. It's cozy and well-decorated inside, not unlike a nice British pub, and the food offerings were plentiful! I enjoyed the special deviled eggs (lemon poppy, which sounds strange, but they were great!), the spinach and artichoke dip, and a salmon salad with fries on the side. Everything was excellent! Service was friendly and attentive to a large group, which I was impressed by throughout the evening. A great place for a date, bringing parents for a nice meal, or sitting at the bar for snacks and drinks. I'll be back ASAP!

Tavern steak. Very small and barely any sides.

The issue I have with this restaurant is the price to portion size. Serving sizes are extremely small. Most of our party left still feeling hungry and un-satisfied. $58 plus tax for a steak that's barely the size of a small kid's meal hamburger. The sides also barely made a dent on anyone's plate. I will say our server was great and very accommodating. Unfortunately, I don't see us coming back.

Frick Park Tavern continues to be a solid neighborhood restaurant. Got the salmon salad and the haddock special. My only complaint is the food is a bit salty sometimes. Bartender made me a great gin drink not in the menu. The perogies were excellent served with crispy Brussels sprouts. Ended the night with a rich chocolate cake!

1/9/25 Ate List: Custom Burger - Score 6.7 W/ Fries - 5.9 Starting here, the restaurant is beautiful. Cool spot in this area, moody lighting, stylized bar, feels like a cross between a moody wood and green chic office and an elevated hotel bar. Love it. Now your service may vary - we were seated immediately but felt like our waiter was having a bad day. A table was seated ten minutes after we arrived and they received both their app and entrée before ours even though they would logically be receiving theirs after us. Didn't feel great watching it happen especially when our orders were not far off from theirs. The burger components were pretty good. I added a fried egg, bacon, House Sauce, and red onion. Everything tasted a bit more charred than I'd have liked especially since I went Medium Rare. Some fries were more burnt and crispy and others were fine. But overall were heavy on seasoning and were just okay. Might come back, would likely try other menu items. Hoping for better service too.

So my husband & I were here date night. First off the ambience caught us. It was so romantic with a casual upscale/speakeasy vibe. We ordered drinks- the espresso martini was good. Husband enjoyed his mule. For app the deviled eggs were gooood! I had the French onion soup-- it wasn't watery like many places. It was thick with great flavor. Husband had the burger which he loved. So I'd food was on point. Definitely on the pricey side but great for a date night. Good wine list.

We had a lovely dinner here on Saturday night. It was pretty busy, but we were able to get right in without a reservation. The service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious. We had the deviled eggs and caesar salad to start. The eggs of the day were orange chili, which was a nice sweet/spicy contrast. The Caesar salad is made with homemade dressing and was delicious. For entrees we had the blackened salmon and BYO burger. Both were excellent and the portions sizes were pretty big. The restaurant has a dark/cozy vibe, which was nice for a chilly fall evening. Highly recommend!

Had a STELLAR meal here! Started off with two glasses of wine. I had the Pinot Grigio and I really enjoyed it- crisp and refreshing. The bread with their seasonal butter was fantastic, served with plain butter and a maple brown sugar butter. The Caesar salad was one of the best I've had in pgh, perfect amount of dressing and great for sharing! We opted to share the meatloaf entree. They charge $5 for sharing entrees which is totally fair- they plated two separate portions for us. And the portions were so generous. The meatloaf was delicious and oh so comforting.

Neighborhood gem!! So happy I have finally tried this place. I have been here 3 times now so it's safe to say I can leave an in-depth review and save you the time and trouble reading Great food! Beautiful ambience! Sometimes there is a wait, I would say make a reservation but luckily anytime we've been told there is a wait- it was shorter than they anticipated I've tried the meatloaf, the roasted half chicken, chicken parm, mussels, soup, multiple cocktails, and some of the wine. Everything has always been great!

I felt like I wasn't in Pittsburgh for an evening. The decoration was and vibe is so cool. I went to celebrate my friend's birthday and Palm Palm did not disappoint. I'm very impressed by the service and very pleased with the food,m. We had Oysters, fries, caramelized oranges, bread & jam. It was all so good! I can't even pick a favorite. I also want to thank them for arranging a fun large candle with our desserts as a surprise even though it was such a short notice. I highly recommend this place! Will definitely be going back.

We loved the roasted carrots and beet salad as starters, the orange was delicious too, they served cod tonight and it was excellent with the nutty topping. The mussels and scallop, served with rice cake was also tasty. Then we ordered several desserts, my favorite was the pistachio cheesecake, and it came with a big volume. Our server was very charming and she celebrated the night with some fireworks. Having access to a private room was so nice for the family setting so we can hear each other more easily. I really loved my overall experience tonight. Too bad there is only five star.

Nice waiter, but it took 30 minutes from when we arrived for us to be seated, order our drinks, and get them (this took the longest). The food was meh. I guess I just had higher expectations. My 'veg' soup was actually a bean soup and had zero condiment...no chz, no crouton, no herb thing...just soup. My dates French onion had two slightly melted slices of cheese...no dark brown coloring on the cheese. This would be an execution problem. My salad had 4 ingredients- greens, squash, nuts and blue cheese...I've seen more complexity and flavor from a eatnpark salad bar. We wanted to order oysters with trout row but was told they were out of the caviar. I will say, the two cocktails we received were very tasty. Enough to bump this from a 2 experience to a 3 . I would definitely go back for drinks and maybe some apps but I'm nervous about the main dishes being underwhelming...we'll see, maybe one day The ambience and views are impressive. Not great service, and not great dishes leave me thinkings even the entrées are gonna be a let down. Sorry

My friends and I visited during Restaurant Week, and the menu looked really great. Boy, was I wrong. The bartenders were also the waiters so service was VERY slow. They had trouble seating my group of 3, and they even sat us right next to the supply cart and refused to seat us downstairs where there was plenty of seating. We ordered drinks, and many of our orders were wrong. I, fortunately, really enjoyed my passion fruit cocktail. We proceeded to order off the Restaurant Week menu. Our appetizers came out, and we all really loved the smoked clam chowder. After that, service went completely downhill. Our waiter was not attentive at all. At one point, he completely forgot about our entrées, and we waited about an hour for our waiter to even realize. I ordered the cacio e pepe ravioli, and they were not great. My friend thought her pot roast was OK, and my other friend really loved the fried chicken. Once again, when it was time for dessert, we waited another 30 to 45 minutes to order and get our dessert. They had forgotten about us again. By that time, it was the end of the night and all the desserts were gone so we couldn't even get what we wanted, which was chocolate creme brulee. They allowed us to order whatever dessert we wanted. I got the lemon bar and my friends got the tiramisu. The lemon bar was so ridiculously tart that you couldn't even eat it. My friends liked their Tiramisu but it was nothing special. In the end, the service was absolutely atrocious, and I will not be back. They did comp us our meals and we paid for our drinks, but I wasted a good 3 hours of my life at this restaurant. The restaurant wasn't even busy, so there truly was no excuse for the poor service. They definitely did not seem prepared for Restaurant Week.

Service was adequate once it actually started. Everything seemed very expensive, especially the six dollar cup of coffee. The chicken and waffles were very generic, small chicken tenders and waffles. The hot honey was, as advertised, very hot. Could have used some syrup on the side. The bacon was very, very, very hard and slightly curled up like it had been cooked in the oven the day before and reheated. The yogurt cup was nothing special with some slightly frozen fruit on top.

Some places just know how to make a random night feel important…read more I've been to @fishnorfowl_pgh a few times now and every single visit I leave just as impressed as the last. Chef Drew's consistency deserves its flowers because it's rare to find a place that delivers that level of care every time you walk through the doors. And no-I wasn't invited. I just genuinely believe in spending my own money at places I enjoy because that's what keeps this industry going around. The spots that make people feel something deserve people showing back up for them. The chicken parm will neverrrrr not get ordered at this point and I truly don't think I've ever left without a full belly and leftovers I was excited about later. Huge thank you as well for the duck dish and champagne that somehow made an already good night feel even better. Also starting a little series on the people I share meals with because food's always been tied to connection for me. She's quiet but confident in a way that makes people naturally gravitate toward her. And once you really get to know her, you won't stop laughing. She works hard, plays even harder, has seen more of the world than most people ever will, and somehow still stays one of the most genuine people I know.
