This is a gem in the neighborhood. I went for date night /HH with my husband . The restaurant is small but they make good use of the space . The staff was welcoming and checked on us all evening . The drinks were so cute and strong ! The food was also really good . I had a few empanadas . Beef was my fav . I also had the shrimp taco meal which was huge ! Well worth the money . I got the punch drink and for $18 it did nothing and was not worth the price. The chicken tacos were wayyyy too spicy I couldn't even enjoy it. The rice and beans it came with was good. Frida..... I was going to give this establishment a 4/5 rating due to the small space but honestly, if you make a RSVP ahead of time you will be just fine . We had a table of three and we had no complaints . I love some Mexican food and a strong margarita and Frida Brooklyn was worth the wait . I had the Birria Mofongo, Chips and Guacamole, and two mango margaritas . Everything hit the spot . The ambiance was cute and decor was picture worthy . Overall upset that my group chose this restaurant for a birthday meal. They were hosting a huge group of rowdy drunks who were screaming the whole night. My wife had the Mocktail strawberry margarita and it was so good for anyone who doesn't drink liquor or even if you do it's still an amazing drink. I really wanted to like this establishment seeing as it's being raved about on tik tok but it was a let down. It's small inside, got seated at the high chair table for two. There was an illuminated wall sign that kept flickering right near my date's face and there was a decorative chair right behind his seat, he was very uncomfortable. We wanted chips and guac.. but later a guy came out & said they were out. That's weird (lol) it's a Mexican restaurant with tacos how do you not have guac??!! Anyways, on the menu it says "cheese EMPANADAS" the 's' at the end is plural as in more than one. To my surprise it was ONE cheese empanada for $6. While I did enjoy it, paying $6 for one plain empanada is just tacky business. We also had chips and salsa which was edible. We had two margaritas $14 each + $1.50 for added flavor. The drinks were trash. The bartender needs serious work. I had a lime margarita with a sugar rim it was so watered down. It's already in the shortest cup and it was filled with ice and barely any drink. The sugar rim was sparse, 0/10. My date had a mango margarita which was tasteless as well. The menu was limited but we both got tacos one chicken & one fish. The tacos were okay, edible. They gave you the tiniest accompaniment of rice and beans with the tacos, like you honestly could have kept that! I got a side of maduros and tostones. My maduros were the 2nd best thing at the establishment. They had all these employees standing around but they were not attentive as they should have been seeing as when we got there it was only 2 other tables. read more

The place itself is cute! It was very busy on a Friday night, but we were seated in 10-15 minutes. The food came out quickly, but they forgot the drinks, my date had to go to the bar to inquire about it. Overall we were satisfied with the food. I enjoyed the quesadilla and the trio appetizer. The cocoloco was pretty weak though--it tasted as if there was no alcohol in the drink. OK, let's start with the positive. It's beautiful. The decorations are gorgeous, but that's as far as it goes now the negative the wait staff particularly a young girl that was our waitress needs to learn how to be a waitress. She was not attentive. It took us at least 20 minutes to get a drink 20 minutes to get water flagging her down every single time to get a drink or water is unacceptable and then when we were ordering food, she proceeded to put on her lipgloss on while answering and asking questions. The food was nothing impressive. I'm very disappointed. I was so excited because the food looks so good on the Instagram page looks can be deceiving I've learned.it was three of us having dinner each of Our food was not edible. Mine was as if they spilled 18 packs of Ortega taco mix onto it. The sweet plantain that was in my dish was hard not sweet whatsoever. The only thing that was OK was the white rice and black beans my other friend had the Mofongo Birria and it was beyond salty both our plates there were about two bites taken from it, and it was put to the side because it was absolutely not edible. My other friend had the fried chicken which was over fried but not as bad the guacamole was a very loose consistency, which wasn't good. The drinks when we actually got them we're very weak as if there was absolutely no alcohol in them. I am not sure if the manager or just someone who works there came over to our table and ask why is it that we weren't packing the food up and we explained to him that the food was not edible no good. He proceeded to ask if we wanted something on the house but we were completely turned off and couldn't imagine anything else would taste good other restaurants would have removed both the plates, but they didn't. They didn't compensate at all. This place is a very small place that might not be such a big issue, but the staff needs to be trained properly. Specifically, the female that was attending us and the food needs to be better. I will not be returning back here. I've had other friends asked me about my time, and I let them know not to waste their time or their money because it was a no for me and my friends. read more
