Frida is cute, fun and has that effortless energy. Inside, exposed brick walls, bold Frida Kahlo artwork and warm wooden tables give it this really cool laid-back but lively feel. The Bola de Yuca were golden crispy filled with the most satisfying melted cheese inside, served with two dipping sauces & The Shrimp Tacos were fresh and flavorful, topped with pico and a creamy sauce that tied everything together nicely. The Lychee Margarita was flavorful and not overly sweet.

This was definitely a hidden gem right in Brooklyn. Frita is a Dominican restaurant with an A+ for the food. The simple white rice with black bean sauce was soooo flavorful. A touch of heaven. I definitely licked the plate clean. Inside the restaurant is quite spacious. There is residential parking, and the staff is professional and very nice as well.

Was passing trough the neighborhood and found this gem online! It's a nice sized space not large or very tiny. It did start to fill up as we dined. The server did a great job with recommendations! She even informed us that they extended happy hour which included apps until 4pm that Saturday. Overall food was delicious and I will definitely be back. Loved their style of my favorite dessert tres leches cake!

Came here with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. We liked the ambiance and the decor in the restaurant. It was very unique. There aren't many restaurants like this one on this side of Brooklyn. We enjoyed the happy hour specials. We each got a drink and the fried cheese, salami and tostones. My husband got the taco entree which meant rice and beans came with the tacos for an additional $3. The waitress asked if he wanted cheese and he said yes then was charged an additional $3 for the cheese. I asked if it was $1 for cheese per taco and the answer was yes. The wording on the menu isn't clear because it said add cheese for $1 or $3 for the entree. I had a chimi and enjoyed every bite! Heads up - they do charge a credit card fee. Overall we enjoyed our anniversary dinner and experience trying out this new restaurant.

A quick little bite to eat that turned to be a pleasant surprise. I heard a few things about things spot so I got here early to ensure I would have a comfortable time and seat. Service was okay. There were only 2 servers however it took a significant amount of time to get her attention when we needed (order more drinks etc). Order to table timing was pretty good but i had to wait several minutes at a time before my self or table could order additional drinks, food, etc. I love that they have SOOO MANY options to pick. From tacos to drinks I was impressed. I ordered the fish tacos which came out fried. I wasn't mad at that but the fish wasn't all that flavorful. It tasted pretty bland almost like a piece of frozen fish. My friend let me try her shrimp tacos which came and MAN I wish i would have ordered that instead because that shrimp was not only fresh and DELICIOUS. I was so tempted to return my plate back that's how good that shrimp was. My biggest recommendation would be to get here a bit early or call to reserve as they packed pretty quickly. Other than that would definitely put this on my local go to list.

i went here last tuesday with my coworkers in true taco tuesday, happy hour fashion. it was close to where we work and the parking was pretty good. this is honestly a deal breaker for me bc i will drive home if i cannot find a spot. the drinks were GREAT and strong. the table got a variety of drinks from coconut to mango & even passionfruit. the food was also really good. i will say the only happy hour meal deal are the chips & guac + fried salami if im not mistaken. for my meal i got the al pastor tacos. they were very flavorful and filling. 9/10 would recommend. you should def pay this place a visit. come hungry & perhaps have dd or take the train lol.

My friend and I planned a Mother's Day outing to Frida's! Because it was so last minute we ended up doing two reservations, but they were so accommodating and we're able to sit all 10 of us together. After sitting down, it didn't take too long for the waiter to come around for us to place our orders. I frequent this place because it's in my neighborhood so I was very excited to come back yet again. I got my favorite margarita, which was great per usual. I also got three tacos; chicken, fish, and shrimp! Everything was cooked to perfection. The chicken wasn't dry. The fish was well seasoned and not overly fried. The shrimp wasn't overcooked either. They all had different toppings and came with radish and limes on the side. The fish and chicken were my favorite, but honestly, I've never had a bad taco from this place. The place wasn't too packed. The music was also at a great volume and it honestly was the perfect place for a Mother's Day outing and if you're ever in area, make sure you check them out.

Decided to randomly try this restaurant and it was such a great decision! The restaurant was packed. There is indoor and an enclosed outdoor area for seating. I got a seat at the bar. The bar area is small and has seating for about 4-5 people. It was nice to see how all the drinks were created while sitting there. There is a QR code for the menu. There are also hard copies of the menu. It took a while for me to place my order because the bartenders were really busy making drinks. I ordered the coco loco. The presentation was beautiful and the drink was delicious. Hands down the best drink I have had this year. I would come back for this alone. I ordered three tacos. I got the shrimp taco which I really enjoyed. I got the fish taco which was really good. I also ordered the birria taco. It comes with a consommé. The bartender suggested adding cheese to the taco which I did. However, I couldn't really taste the cheese. The rice and beans were good but it would be easier to eat if it came in a bigger container. I also was expecting more rice and beans. The hot sauce was amazing. For dessert I got the churros. I didn't care for the caramel sauce. I really liked the chocolate sauce. This dessert is big enough to share with others. I really enjoyed the churros and would highly recommend it. The staff were pleasant. I look forward to returning again and trying more dishes and drinks.

After a long day being at the car dealership for 8.5hrs, I decided to try FRIDA after discovering the restaurant through the YELP app. Walked into Happy Hour (not properly attired for the evening affair ) my daughter and I sat down for our first meal of the day. We ordered Birria Empanadas, Bolos de Yuca, Birria, Al Pastor & fish tacos. The entrees were the tacos and it comes with a side of black beans & rice. EVERYTHING WAS TASTY & SO GOOOOODDDD! My daughter really enjoyed the Birria meat and consommé... it was the best consommé we've had. Everything tasted fresh. The service was great. The restaurant is decorated quite lovely and has a vibe to it (as per my daughter's words). We really loved everything about it. We will definitely go back to try more dishes on the menu. FYI: gratuity is included on the bill so budget for the 18% they charge

From the walk up the place is dry chic, I loved the Frida art spread around. The owner created us with a pinch of history and the inspiration to the Domican-Mexican fusion theme. The food was great! I found a new place to frequent when in Mill Basin

The food and drinks are great I'll say that! However service is abit slow, the drinks take quite some time and on a Saturday night the food arrived well before the drinks. The ambiance is nice and the music and decor are pleasant! Great place for the location and reasonable prices.

The music is way too loud and very disturbing to people living nearby. This is not the neighborhood for a loud Mexican restaurant.

Whenever friends visit my area, I consider this place one of the staples that I'll bring them to. In the summertime, I have even made use out of their limited seating outdoors. Usually, the service is fairly straightforward--you order, get your receipt then move down to the window and wait for your name to be called. Not much pleasantries but they get the job done. However, today I had an experience that left a poor taste in my mouth and honestly will put me off from going back for at least a while. When I went up to order, I asked for "the combo with birria tacos and consome", the cashier confirmed with me if I wanted "just Birria tacos? Or the combo?", I replied, "right, the birria taco combo." I think trying to be overly explicit led to the misunderstanding, because I got my order with only 3 Birria tacos. When I asked about the missing consome, she repeatedly insisted that I said no to the combo. After prolonged back and forth, she asked if I want consome, and when I said yes, she proceeded to ring it up on its own for $4. The thing is, I had already pulled out a dollar to cover it, as it's only a 50 cent difference between the combo and 3 tacos alone. I pointed this out, to which she shoved the consome at me with a look of disgust and told me she didn't want the money. I left the dollar in the tip jar anyway, but I felt uncomfortable from the exchange and also that it held up the delivery drivers and other patrons waiting in line to order.
