All I can understand is when food makes my taste buds happy, and these flavors hit the spot for a satisfying lunch last week. On a weekday afternoon around 2pm the customer occupancy at the food court hovered around 15-20% capacity. Office employees grabbing a late lunch, remote workers with laptops, a handful of students and tourists grabbing early afternoon coffee or cocktails. There wasn't a line to order though a few people ordered right after me and there was about a 5-7 minute wait for tacos to be prepped. I didn't have much interaction with the staff since I ordered at the tablet, it was an easy process to select which menu items you want, tacos require a min of 2 tacos. Staff calls your name once the food is ready, appreciate that I was passed my food with a smile. Of the two tacos I ordered, both brought together a thoughtful melding of flavors and textures, and were stacked with protein. The army of meat taco with beef chunks $5.50 was had a flavorful mole sauce paired with a guac "sauce" (a little thinner in consistency than regular guac) that added a good level of moisture. The radish provided a crunch and the cheese a bit of umami. Yum!! The carnitas taco $5.00 the meat was tender, juicy and plentiful, a bit of pickled onion punctuated with a hint of sour and brininess. Pieces of chicharron on top added a crunch. I'd totally recommend both and want to go back and try the shrimp, fish and chicken tacos too!
