We sat between the bar and main dining room. The Live mariachi band on the weekend was nice, but challenging to have a conversation. The steak fajitas were delicious with plenty leftover.

The girl squad loves to catch up and have nights out at Frieda's - the food is always good, the waitresses are very friendly (and make excellent table side guacamole) and the ambiance is fun! Cool decor and excellent food - thankfully the wait for a table never seems to be long, but I'd make a reservation just in case.

This is one of the Honey's and I favorite place for margaritas and fresh guacamole. Their food is always fresh and seasoned well. We started off yesterday as we always do...Cucumber Jalapeño Margaritas. They were on point, as usual. Tortillas that are bought out with salsa when you first sit down, are light and crispy. You receive two complimentary baskets of tortillas. We usually have one with the salsa and one with the fresh guacamole, that is prepared table side. We rounded out our appetizers with Ceviche de Pescado. An exquisite mixture of fresh fish, onions, avocado slices, lime juice and spices! (Chef's Kiss) The Ropa Vieja and Arroz Con Pollo entrees were plentiful and delicious. Flan for dessert and an Expresso Martini... yeah we weren't skimping at all!! Our server Leo was friendly and attentive as are all the servers we've experienced here. Although the place can get quite busy and with live entertainment, the noise levels can be a bit high. That being said, It's never been a deterrent for us. The welcoming, feel good vibes and Mariachis are well worth it!! Stop by for good food and fun! Thank me later.....

Had a wonderful dinner and our waiter Walter was exceptional. So friendly, professional. Great watermelon margarita too!

At the time of this review I have been to Frida's twice and have thoroughly enjoyed each time. The vibe is very similar to Margarita's cafe and other Mexican spots on the island but this place just sits better with me. The staff is extremely friendly and I feel like there's a good variety of items on the menu. Last time I went with a buddy for dinner and I knew the queso fundido was good but he was just taken back by how good it was. The enchiladas are very filling and of the highest quality. I will definitely be coming back anytime I am in the mood for Mexican.

Food was good. Interesting decor. Reasonably priced. It would be our go-too for Mexican if it was closer to where we live. We will go back some time.

The service and food are why this place stays in my regular rotation. I always order the ceviche de pescado and the skirt steak fajitas--both are excellent and highly recommended. They also have the best churros I ever had in NY. The ambiance is vibrant, especially with live mariachi on the weekends.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a staff member who was very welcoming. We ordered an arepa with shredded beef, yoyos with grilled chicken, and a chicha. Everything was delicious! Just be prepared to get a little messy. It's not exactly a first date spot lol. The chicha was especially good. It's a bit thick, which makes it feel more like a dessert drink. It tasted just like rice pudding, which I loved. I'll definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu.

At first i didnt understand why then I realized they were donations for Venezuela victims from the earthquakes which was nice. My sister ordered me the Venezuelan sandwich "pepito" with chicken and steak. The sandwich was very good and tasty. It was a big serving and tasted like it was made with love. However, when my dad went to pay the bill at the end they tried to charge an operating fee of $7. My dad complained thats illegal and the lady tried to say its a fee to maintain the space. I never heard of an operating fee anywhere and for that I took off 1.5 stars. Please eliminate that fee if you want to keep customers because the food was great!

Most of our table ordered…read moresteak while one person went with chicken, and those steaks came out sizzling, which definitely made an entrance. If you're starving, go ahead and grab an appetizer. If you're just normally hungry, skip it because the entrées are more than enough. I had the steak with mushrooms and onions. The steak itself was cooked well, but I would've loved more mushrooms, and personally I think it would pair much better with rice and beans instead of French fries. The chicken options also felt a little limited compared to the long list of steak dishes. The appetizers could use some love too. Three empanadas on a plate and calling it an appetizer felt a little... phoned in. Give us a little flair! Service was a bit confusing because it seemed like everyone was helping every table, so we never really knew who our actual server was. We asked for the check because we had a show to get to, got an "okay," and then watched our server head over to another table first. Cue everyone checking their watches. The drinks were tasty, but I'm still on the fence about whether they were freshly made or not. Overall? It was a decent experience. The portions are generous, the steaks are the star of the menu, and there's definitely potential here. Would I rush back? Maybe not. Would I tell you not to go? Also no. This is one of those places where you'll have to grab a fork and decide for yourself.

Can't compare this with fast food locations like Popeyes, but can draw similarities to say an old school Boston Market that no longer really exists on L.I. You get an option of a side or a few but more homey to the Latin cultural roots of this chain. Therefore instead of ordering say mashed potatoes you can order Yuca Fries :) which are a healthier version believe or not, with just a slightly starcher root vegetable texture. On this outing to try the new location we opted for the 2 piece Drum Thigh with one side (slaw) drink and dinner roll, and added two Breasts and the Yuca Fries. All were made hot and fresh and served to our table by a friendly counter server, family style in large festive plate (w/side plates, disposable utensils). The flavorful chicken was great, yuca fries yummy and the slaw was definitely worth trying since their recipe tastes different than others. Pricing was more than fair for what we ordered, and I would consider definitely going back to try more of their menu items, as well as recommending others to give them a try. If you're not in this area to give them a try, I believe you can spot them at Penn Station. ;)

The meal includes 8 pieces of leg and thigh, 4 rolls, and 2 sides--we chose yucca fries and mac & cheese. I had takeout from a previous Yelp event, so I didn't expect dine-in service, but they gave us a table number and brought the food out to us. They also provided melamine plates, which was a nice surprise and made the meal feel more dine-in than fast-casual. When I the staff member about takeout containers, she misunderstood and immediately brought them over with a bag--honestly, super helpful. Service was outstanding. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The chicken was crispy and full of flavor. My son loved the yucca fries and rolls. I especially enjoyed the mac & cheese and chicken. We also tried the jamaica and horchata drinks (not included in the meal), and both were excellent. I wish I had a Pollo Campero near me--but maybe it's for the best, or I'd be here all the time!
