Absolutely recommend Frida's for a fun time ! 4 of us and baby in stroller we'll situated at table with plenty of room. We were welcomed and seated immediately per.our open table rezzy. Had heard wonderful things about this .. made a reservation for 7 of us for 7 pm last evening . We showed up at 6:30 .. knowing we wouldnt be seated but wanted to be ready to be seated at 7 . We sat at the bar . I told the hostess we were there and to find us at the bar and she said fine . At 7 we checked back and were told the table was being cleaned . Shortly thereafter we all went to hostess and then were told it would be a bit as they were just finishing eating at our table . We watched for almost half an jour as people sat with their to go baskets at the table .. not looking like they were going to leave anytime soon . Hostess/ manager were not helpful had no answers and just answered they were busy and trying to accomodate. My problem is they told us 3 times we were going to be seated and werent. Why bother to take reservations when u cant accomodate them? Poor planning . We left at 7:40 and went next door to Ginos and got seated right away and had a fabulous meal . Never again read more

Fridas is a fairly new addition to the area. The new owners took over a failing Mexican restaurant that didn't survive Covid. We arrived and were greeted by a pleasant young lady. We were seated immediately and loved the decor of the place. After looking at the menu, our waitress (Ena) arrived and she was so friendly and took our drink orders. We got a margarita with ghost pepper tequila (Frida Picante), it was delicious. Service was all fast and friendly. We ordered fresh guacamole and it was made table side. They can make it as spicy or mild as you want. The jalapeño poppers were literally perfect, filled with hot cheddar inside. Our entrees did not disappoint either. I ordered the fajitas with skirt steak and shrimp. My wife got the chicken enchiladas. Both dishes were seasoned perfectly. Also, they had a live authentic mariachi band (love that). 4 yums We come here often and we are never disappointed until today. We had a horrible night. Service was awful, server was not friendly and we ended up speaking to manager. A table came in after us whose drinks and food came way before us. We ended up talking to manager who did discount our bill but waiting over one hour for food is ridiculous. Food is delish and the drinks plentiful Today is Tuesday and they have a singer playing guitar and his voice is so soothing and love his choice of songs. That's what kept us here. Made reservations for the first time here! When we arrived on a Friday evening they were packed! So happy we had a reservation. We had to wait about ten minutes more as they were running behind. We started with drinks that took a little while to come out but they were tasty. Tajin spicy margarita was BOMB. We ordered guac table side and it never came - the table next to us ordered some too and they got theirs so we knew something was up. Our food shortly came over after like 5 mins...so we said never mind on the guac. The waitress was friendly and apologetic for the confusion. She came over with two tequila shots to compensate for the confusion which was nice. I did a combo fajita which was one of the best I've had! My friend had the shrimp and steak combo with rice, beans etc. Looked delish and she said it was good too! All in all, the food and drinks were delicious. It appeared that on a Friday / busy evening they needed more service help and communication with the staff. But all was resolved and fine - hence the 5 star rating still. Will be back! read more

The start, the margaritas are huge and delicious. The chips and salsa were a nice way to start, though our guacamole appetizer was disappointing. It was missing any spice though we asked for medium, and could have used much more salt/lime/seasoning - it just felt like it was missing something that makes guacamole great. We overheard the table next to us expressing the same after they ordered guacamole as well. The chicken fajitas I had, and the sampler my friend had were both really good. So happy I finally came to try Frida's! If you come on a Friday be warned the parking lot will be full, I ended up parking behind the shopping center and walking, no big deal, but for anyone who need assistance walking it's best to drop them off at the door. Was excited to find out that on Fridays they have a mariachi band, so fun! I ordered a blue Hawaiian to drink and it was amazing! I had to order a second. We also shared some guacamole that they made table side. My entree was the sampler and I'm happy I had a variety to eat. Can't wait to come back! read more

We went last tonight with my husband and father-in-law after I wrote this review because it was on my mind, and they both raved about how good it was. They had the combination plates, my MIL has the steak fajitas again and my son, his chicken fingers. I tried the enchiladas but asked for both sauces on the side. I like to dip them in instead and if you bring home leftovers, they do not get mushy! These were SO good and so were the sauces. Definitely our new favorite place. Again, the staff were so nice! Of course, I took pics of everyone else's food except mine, the new item to review!! I reheated my leftovers for lunch and they heated up nicely. read more

My boyfriend and I come here a few times a month. It is absolutely DELICIOUS! They have a mariachi band which I believe plays Fri-Sun (the days we usually go on). After many visits and consistent PERFECT food and service, I decided we musssst have my birthday dinner here as well! We had a group of 7 that turned into 9, and then 11! When I called, they accommodated us without an issue and we were sat on time. We had an absolutely amazing time, as we do every time we go. I always get the Mexican combo. Can't go wrong there. You get a little taste of 3 items, Chicken Flauta, Beef Chimichanga & a small Cheese Quesadilla. Each entree comes with a side of rice and beans, as well as sour cream, a pico de gallo, guacamole and some shredded lettuce. I'm a huge salsa fan and their salsa never disappoints I could literally eat it with a spoon. I recommend this place to everyone, old, young, full family, or just a dinner date. We can't get enough! And we tried the wings recently. THEY FALL OFF THE BONE they are so generously sauced and come with a nice sized option of either blue cheese or ranch. The service here excels any other. We have either Jackie or Ina usually and everyone is sweet, remembers our orders and we are always greeted with a smile and sent off with a "see ya next week." It's simply, just the best. read more

What a fun experience! Frida's Mexican Grill was a complete blast. The mariachi band was a true highlight of our night!! They came right over to our table and asked us to request a song. They sang us a song from the Disney movie Coco, "remember me," and yes, it got emotional. Our service was done by Melissa (as seen making fresh guacamole at the guacamole station) in the uploaded photo. The guacamole was on the next level. It was so fresh. This place is actually really good. Way better than I expected. Ambiance was okay, nothing great, nothing standout. But the food was excellent. We really like Mangoes, which is probably ten minutes away but my wife liked it here better. Everything was on point. We went to this place before going to a concert. The service was friendly and fast which was great! We ordered the sangria which was delicious. I got the michelada with the mango flavor. It was an interesting mix of sweet, spicy and strong. I don't think the pairing was my favorite but that was my choice. We got the nachos for our appetizers. The portion size was great. They used long hot peppers which was unique but inefficient for nachos in my opinion. The beans could have spicier but otherwise it was a good plate. We also got the chicken chimichangas. These were made well with shredded chicken but was also a little bland. Thankfully they have salsas which can bring in some added flavor. I used to order takeout here once in a while and the portions keep getting smaller and smaller while the prices keep getting higher. The Steak Tampiquena going back to the El Coyote days was pretty large. Now it's 1/2 the size. They used to give you a decent amount of Guac in the appetizer but not so much now. It looked like they spread it out on the bottom of the tin to make it look like more. Also, they switched from a big cup of salsa to a little plastic cup that's not much bigger than a shot glass. You're probably better off ordering from somewhere esle for Mexican takeout. read more

So after spending $159 in take out on 3 dinners, my only comment is this. We ordered 2 fairly expensive fajita entrees. Not one tortilla in the bag. I am so glad I keep a stocked pantry and happened to have store bought tortillas. The food is just okay but having no tortillas in the bag for fajitas and the price point...we will not order again. We came here on a Friday night and despite the place being very busy, were able to grab a spot at the bar. They give you complimentary chips & salsa which I appreciated and they were good. For my meal, I ordered the chimichangas with chicken. To me, they were so bad that I could only stomach one bite. There was also a sweetness coming through from the sauce on top and what I think were big chunks of carrot inside. Disappointing and not cheap. I also got a side of sweet plantains which did not taste fresh. My partner got the steak fajitas which he said were pretty good. Maybe it was an off night but I left hungry. read more

I suck at writing restaurant reviews but here is my two-cents... My wife and I popped in for an unconventional St. Patrick's day lunch at Frida's. We had a great experience there. The restaurant was sparsely populated. Too many people in the Irish bars missing out on a great lunch and drinks. Too bad for them but great for us. (We're both part Irish.) The manager sat us and waited on us and gave us great advice on the menu selections. The Margaritas were fresh and not made with pre-made mixers. On the manager's advice we ordered a half pitcher of Margaritas and saved a few pesos too. My wife had the taco selection off of the lunch menu and I had the Ropa Vieja. The tacos look and tasted like they were off a Food Channel special and my Ropa Vieja was extremely traditional that made me pine for another vacation in Mexico. No need for sour cream or hot sauce to bring out the flavors. You could taste the fresh ingredients in every bite. We had a nice chat with the owner and got tips when were the best times to come back. No! I'm not going to share. Go and find out for yourself. ;-) It will be well worth the trip. Hint: go very early or go late. The decor is definitely up there with Manhattan style restaurants, no hanging ponchos, sombreros or maracas, It's a sophisticated yet homey, welcoming type of feel. This was one of the places where great food, decor and great people came together. I'm looking forward to trying more items on the menu. read more

We've been looking for a new go to Mexican restaurant and we found it!! Frida's delivers on every level. Bright, vibrant, beautiful interior. Management is friendly, professional, making sure you have a great experience. Wait staff is very friendly. Great selection of cocktails and beers. Food is excellent!!! We had nachos with chorizo - done perfectly and steak fajitas (huge serving, took half home) and fish tacos. Everything top quality, fresh, generous. Steak fajitas and shrimp with rice. We ordered the fried ice cream for dessert, which was a little bit disappointing. I don't think it was actually fried and it was just OK. Service was excellent. We had to get the guac as an appetizer- it was sooo fresh! I ordered the Pachuga Al La Parrilla- it was delicious. The service was great- even though it was busy, our server checked on us frequently. A few days ago I made 7:30pm reservations at Frida's Mexican Grill on Open Table for New Year's Eve for 6 people and it was 'confirmed' (Today, New Year's Eve) I received an email stating that restaurant has 'cancelled' our reservation. I called Frida's to find out if it was an error but turns-out it wasn't. They blamed Open Table and the restaurant is closing at 6pm today. Funny thing is that it's 2pm right now and I can still go back into Open Table and reserve a table tonight AFTER the restaurant closes tonight. NOW, I have to find a restaurant available for the 6 of us tonight. Happy freakin' New YEAR!!! read more

Ok so I was looking forward to eating here since it's close by and it had pretty good reviews. Ambience was good, and the bar area was nice. As for the food....I'm Latin so to me it was very toned down in terms of flavor. I make better guac at home. The biggest faux pas for me though, was the margarita. Came here on a Friday night with a party of 6, would likely recommend a reservation (we had one) as it seems like the place fills up quick, and for good reason! Chips and salsa were served complimentary, and definitely some of the better ones I've had, even ones I've paid for! We started off with the queso, which was very tasty. I went with the Mexican Combo (rice, beans, quesadilla, chimichanga, and a flauta with guac, Pico, and sour cream) which can't be beat for variety and bang for your buck value, my personal favorite on the plate though was the chimichanga and I'd find myself hard pressed not to order those next time I come in. Highly recommend asking for their habanero hot sauce on the side, it's a bit spicy, but it's got great flavor. I wish I had room for dessert, as everything looked good, but alas it wasn't in the cards. Staff were very polite and helpful, although a little slow, but it was a busy night so there's a good excuse. There were also two gentleman playing songs on violin and guitar for the tables that were quite talented and gave an extra flair to the atmosphere. Parking right in front can be a little tight, so you might need to park along the side roads, but those aren't too bad to deal with.
