From the beginning, she didn't seem very engaged or in good spirits. My daughters are both former restaurant servers, so we understand how demanding the job can be and always try to be patient and understanding. We started with coffee, and my daughters both ordered the diner's most popular breakfast sandwich (#1 on the menu). I ordered the lunch special: open-faced tuna, which included a cup of soup. I chose the cream of zucchini, and it arrived quickly and was delicious. After waiting more than 30 minutes for our meals, our server came over and apologized, explaining that the kitchen had mistaken the "#1" breakfast sandwiches for "#4s." While I appreciated the apology, nothing was offered to acknowledge the delay. When the food finally arrived, my daughters enjoyed their meals. Unfortunately, my order was served as a tuna melt rather than the cold open-faced tuna I had anticipated . The menu description mentioned cheese, but it was not described as a tuna melt. I personally don't enjoy hot tuna, so while I ate some of it, I didn't finish my meal. The coleslaw on the side was also very bland and could have used more seasoning or tang. After the sandwich mix-up, it seemed like our server avoided our table. After waiting several minutes, I asked for the check and dessert. She also seemed unaware that my lunch special included dessert. We took the rice pudding to go, and it was excellent. I truly wanted to love this experience because the diner has so much charm. Unfortunately, we left disappointed. Our bill was approximately $80 for two breakfast sandwiches with home fries, one tuna lunch special, an order of bacon, and three coffees. Mistakes happen, but I felt there was a missed opportunity to recover the experience. Even a small gesture--removing the coffees, offering a dessert, or another courtesy--would have gone a long way toward making us feel like our time and patience were valued.

I normally never write bad reviews, especially since I'm a server in a fine dining restaurant so I understand it can be difficult at times but this was honestly the worst experience ever. Went to dinner here on Thursday night with my family of 6. We were sat and not a single server came over to us for over 10 minutes, when they finally came over they weren't very friendly. We placed our drink and food order right away with her and waited another 10 minutes to get our drinks... mind you it wasn't busy tonight. When we finally got our food she gave us 2 wrong orders and handed my kid brother in law a hot plate with no warning which he almost dropped on my 3 year old son. No apologies. She took one of the wrong orders back to fix it which took another 20 minutes and by the time she came back everyone else was done. She never once checked on us after the food was brought out and we needed refills. We spoke to the manager about this and he was very nonchalant towards the situation. They ended up taking 5% off the bill but honestly didn't seem to care that they were losing customers. When we were ready to pay we had to wait another 5 minutes before anyone would help us even though our server was standing right there.. Needless to say we will not be returning here.. read more
