We gave them another chance and they failed again. We used to go to Pocono Friendly's every time we were in the area, and while they were never fast, the food and service were always good. The last two times, the waiting times just got worse. Yesterday, the dining room was about 1/4 full. It took about 55 minutes from order to getting our lunch served to us. The people behind us also took about an hour to get their food and it was wrong and cold. When the food finally arrived for us, it was good, not piping hot, but warm enough. It tasted good as well. Management needs to step in and hire more kitchen staff, or train them better, or something. Unfortunately we won't be returning. read more

Definitely did live up to the name- the staff was super friendly and accommodating for our large party of 10. The menu had a ton of options and a lot of us did the entree + sundae deal. My favorite side was the loaded waffle fries which never disappoint. I got the Fishamajig SuperMelt Sandwich which was delicious! The portions weren't massive like diner food but I think the portions were appropriately sized and we were full afterwards- the entree, the side, and a sundae. For my sundae I got the new Barking Pretzel flavor which my friend and I loved. One thing to note is the Yelp check-in discount is super old and they don't honor it anymore. Come Again? Yes !! I wish I could give a zero. Here's my story... My wife and I were thrilled to find a friendly's restaurant in Mount Pocono. We have been planning this trip for months and, since they vacated our area, Western New York, this was going to be a real treat. I downloaded the app and we were ready to go. It was quite disappointing to pull up to the restaurant at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, May 14, to find out it was closed on that day only. It would have been helpful to post this information at the website or if the app could send a notification of the closure. We could have visited earlier. Now we will return home without having enjoyed one of the best hot fudge sundaes around. Our day was ruined. We have a 40 year relationship with Friendly's and it's horribly tarnished by this episode. Please take this story into account and help your loyal customers in future. read more

Everything went down hill after we were seated. Our waiter tried to get my husband to change his order because he wasn't sure how to remove bbq sauce from the sandwich on the ordering device. We waited an extremely long time for our food. Two tables that got there after us got their food before us. They did have a different waiter. Food came cold. Fries cold. Burger soggy. You could tell it had been sitting. Salad had huge pieces of lettuce that I needed to cut. And the wrong kind of chicken. It was just a mess. They weren't busy. I have always loved coming to Friendly's since I was a child. It's been a few years since I last came to this location. Our server, Julian, was very helpful and friendly. The meal was fantastic and did not disappoint. Always makes me feel like I am home. Not the best experience. Was so excited to visit friendlies as the ones in our area have closed. The food was super skimpy and lack luster. So different from how it used to be. The food just didn't deliver. I got the honey BBQ super melt which used to literally melt in your mouth. There was barely any BBQ sauce and the tenders were skimpy. Half used to be quite filling, this sandwich left me hungry after eating the whole thing. The bread used to be lusciously buttery but this bread felt like regular old toast. the food was really good. Service was insanely slow. They forgot the drinks of my to go order. Worst of all, an EMPLOYEE started banging on my stall door aggressively. My chicken tenders and waffle fries tasted like it was fresh out the grease and it came out fast. If Lisa is your server, you are lucky because she will work nonstop to get you your food. 2nd Review Due to my 1st time being a success I went back here a couple of days later. When I got here I was told I would be seated in 10-15 mins. I ended up having to wait a hour to be seated and the place wasn't even halfway full. My assumed reason for the long wait time is because the kitchen was understaffed. Came here with my family after skiing and the food was so worth the trip. I don't often go to diners, but Friendly's is the epitome of what a diner looks, feels, and serves. If I'm ever in the area, I would definitely go again. We ordered a few entrees and appetizers for the entire table. The munchie mania allowed us to try three options-waffle fries, chicken tenders, and onion rings. The waffle fries and onion rings here are amazing, but the chicken tenders were a bit small and tasteless. We also ordered the fried shrimp platter and steak tips to share as a table. These were not as good as we expected them to be. The shrimps were obviously frozen beforehand and just defrosted, the fries on the side were soggy, and the steak tips had more veggies than actual steak. Would not recommend ordering these. The Mac and Cheese burger, however, was very tasty and filling. It also came with waffle fries, which are delicious, on the side. The clam chowder was alright, nothing spectacular about it, but it did get overwhelming after a few bites. There was a membership coupon for a free sundae that was advertised on the side and the waitress was so willing to hand us all free sundaes, so we took advantage of the offer! What an amazing experience we had at this Friendly's. The staff was extremely sweet and kind especially our waitress (I don't recall her name but she worked closing on 2/7/21). We previously stayed at Kalahari the night before and was not impressed with their food options, so we ventured out. We no longer have any Friendly's close to home, so I'll admit choosing this was in part due to nostalgia. The cost of our dinner was 1/2, the food was better than Kalahari, and the service was AMAZING! As we were leaving, my little 4 year old wanted to play one of the arcade games, but we didn't have any quarters with us. Our waitress, commented that she knew what it was like because she had a 3 year old at home and reached into her tips to give my son 50c for the game. It was so sweet. Couldn't even give yelp a review about the food. Waited about 10 mins to even get seated, cause all the workers are just talking to each other instead of serving the customers. I asked one of the workers do we seat ourselves and she said no. Then finally we got seated, 5 mins later, I just left because no one came to serve me still. This is unacceptable. This is my first time at a Friendly's in PA. Walking in, there was a friendly middle aged woman that greeted me and my four friends and tended us immediately. Because we were carrying out, we were directed to a younger woman at the cashier. I was first to order and I did not understand what a Fribble was. When asking her she was not outright rude but her face and her body language said everything. She seemed slightly annoyed when I needed her to explain it. After my order, my friend paid by card and the same cashier did not return her card immediately and implied that my friend was at fault that she didn't ask for her card back. After all of us ordered, other workers gave us all of our food, well NOT ALL OUR FOOD. We left the restaurant and checked that we got all of our food in the car, but mine was missing. Despite being the first person to order, my order was not included in the food we received. I was slightly annoyed dealing w a not so friendly cashier and already waiting for my food for over a half hour from a nearly empty restaurant, I was pissed when I didn't receive my food. When I received my food, the quality was below average. I orders the homestyle turkey dinner. I don't expect much from a Friendly's, but the texture of the turkey was like dried jerky you would buy packaged at a pharmacy. In addition, I did expect to receive cranberry sauce from a can, but the least the worker could do is mash it up to give it a more appetizing appearance rather than seeing the impressions the side of a cranberry jar would give if you just scoop it out. In terms of the corn and mashed potatoes, they were as expected. Not amazing, not disgusting.
