We visited mid-morning so the Georgetown location was not busy. First, we had to repeatedly ask our server for the items we ordered (hot tea, decaf coffee, orange juice). Secondly, the food was lukewarm to cold when it was served--the butter was not melting on my waffle. Third, the the server did not get our orders correct. I ordered the waffle with a side of bacon. I didn't get the bacon. Our friend ordered sausage and an English Muffin. He got neither. Instead he got my bacon, but he never received the English Muffin. I asked for syrup when I got my waffle; the server didn't get it to me until I was done with my food, which was very cold by that time. He did remove the side of bacon from our bill after I complained. We have never encounted this poor level of service and quality of food in all the times visting First Watch in Virginia. While we will continue to visit the location we are closest to in Virginia, our friends will never visit one near them.

We had stopped at Fava's a few weeks earlier with another group of friends for breakfast, and it was excellent. With that great experience in mind, we decided to try Fava's again, this time for lunch. The décor is classic Old Town Kentucky--exactly the kind of place that brings back childhood memories of small-town restaurants. Charming, comfortable, and familiar. We seated ourselves and looked over the menu. I went with the chili cheese hot dog with fries. My wife and one of our friends chose the open-faced Reuben, and the last member of our group ordered the club sandwich. Every dish was excellent. The club sandwich was so large it required a to-go box. Before leaving, everyone except me ordered pie to go-- Fava's pies are legendary, at least to my wife and me. I skipped dessert this time and immediately regretted missing their ice cream options. We dropped the pies off in the car (it was cold enough outside to keep them safe), and then the ladies headed off to explore the shops of Georgetown. And I cannot leave out the wait staff, very attentive and friendly . This was my second visit to Fava's, and both times have been outstanding. I'm already looking forward to our next "shopping trip" to Georgetown so I can enjoy their food again--and this time, I won't miss out on the ice cream.

Both were very good. My sandwich had a thick cut of Bologna and my wife's Rueben was piled high with Corned Beef and Sauerkraut. The Kettle Chips were crispy and fresh and the Cole Slaw was creamy. We arrived too early for a dinner time rush so the dining area was not crowded and there was less ambient noise so that was especially nice. My wife had wanted breakfast and lo and behold Cracker Barrel has a breakfast anytime menu. The menu over the past couple years has been streamlined and the company has made other changes such as adding alcohol to the beverage offerings. But the nuts and bolts of why folks go to Cracker Barrel has remained. Country cooking and warm surroundings with quality foods and people who are glad you're there. The retail store side has always had unique novelty gift and snack items, and they have created a big music footprint with country and Americana performers. Bottom line is you can't go wrong with Cracker Barrel if you looking for a nice dining experience with no surprises.

I got some chicken tenders with some Mac and cheese as a side and I was pretty satisfied. The taste wasn't greasy nor overly salty. The crunch was firm and light. I also got some berry Bo biscuits and they tasted like scones. Their service and staff were quick and polite. The Ambiance was about the same for any fast food chicken place.
