First off, those who give this place 5 stars must have never eaten good food and those who give this place 1 star either got food poisoning, or hate beer. That being said, I've dropped in a few times, and am always pleased with a such a large beer selection, probably Frisco's greatest quality. I'd give them 4 stars on this one alone. Why not 5? Well, unlike another local place with a great beer selection *coughs* Victoria *coughs*, Frisco lists no prices, sizes, or descriptions, so the I get to play beer roulette unless ordering something I've had before. More on this... During my last visit, we squinted across the restaurant at the screen displaying current on tap offerings and finally asked our waitress if there was a printed list of the beers. I'm all for reducing paper consumption, but this wouldn't break the bank nor the planet. Our waitress told us no, but we could look it up on our phones if we wanted to. My two friends and I informed her that none of us has a phone with internet and sat there while her facial expression revealed her apparent judgment of our personal philosophies regarding phone choice. The food is rather unexciting. I do wish there were more meatless options. We ordered the "Holy Trinity" (salsa, queso dip, and guacamole) and "Fire Grilled Wings." The trio of dips was fine, but underwhelming, especially the cheese dip. Next time, I'll go for the guacamole by itself. The wings weren't bad. They started off sweet and smoky, while the heat from the ancho chiles slowly crept up on me. I've also realized that I'm quite fond of grilled, rather than fried, wings; I have to want smoky flavor more than crispy texture. The accompanying "tequila lime blue cheese" had no taste of tequila and the lime was subtle at best. I went for the buffalo burger with a side of fries. Like many pubs, a supposedly "medium" burger came out rather gray. It was average. On the plus side, the fries had a very boardwalk fries (think Thrashers, not Boardwalk Fries) taste and texture. Got takeout once with my coworker. She got the burrito and I got the fish tacos because you can never go wrong with fish tacos... Or so I thought. The fish tacos had this weird mango salsa which just seemed like the flavors were all clashing with one another and whoever made it was just trying a little too hard. It was sour and just weird. And definitely overpriced for disgusting food. My coworker threw up after her burrito. She actually used to be a waitress there a while back and she said the food used to be good but I guess it went downhill. The only reason it got two stars instead of one is because I went with coworkers for drinks and their beer selection was huge and the waiter was very nice and let me try a bunch before picking which one I wanted. read more

Went on a whim because we didn't feel like cooking dinner. We were seated right away- the place looked about half full. The beer menu was large and seemed interesting. About 15 minutes in a live band came on and you couldn't have any conversation. We were on the opposite side of the room with a slight barrier in between and still couldn't hear one another across the table. I ordered the chips and queso for an appetizer and my boyfriend ordered the spicy chili de alejandro. The queso was gross. It reminded me of that nasty, sat too long after being served at a ballpark cheese. The chili was interesting and yummy. Our waitress was just okay. She wasn't attentive enough, didn't double check on things, didn't inform me which tequila the bar had ultimately made my margarita with... etc. She wasn't rude- she was just barely there. The margarita was gross. My boyfriend was ordering beer and seemed to enjoy the ones he chose. Our entrees were better. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was tasty. We visited Frisco's Friday night... First time going and most likely the last time at this location! The service was poor! We had a group of 4. Some other friends came through the sat beside us (3 people). The same server covered both tables. The food was not bad. It took forever to get drinks! I had a Smokey Old Fashion. The first one took a good 15 minutes to arrive I had to keep asking for it. The server said the bar tender was getting slammed... The place was not that busy there were many open tables. When the drink arrives it was not what I ordered... There was no smoke! She took it back and returned maybe 5 minutes later. I ordered a second one it took about 10 minutes. The server announced last call, my friend's ordered and I was on the fence... The server returned quickly with beers and I said let me get one last Old Fashion... She responded I'll have to see it he'll make it.. The bar is in plain view of our seat. The server returned and said the bar is closed now he will not make it... I said ok... Then as she turns away two (2) white men walk in and sit at the bar... The bar tender takes there order and proceeds to make them drinks! My wife was livid! Used to come here quite a bit back when I lived in MD. They have a fantastic selection of draft beers all available on large screens behind the bar. Bartenders are very friendly and knowledgable and chat it up with the regulars. A great bar to watch Caps games too. Food is hit and miss but mostly a hit. Okay...I'm a fan! This place is tucked away and out of the way but worth the hunt. This place boasts a tap worthy of west coast praise. The house beer is tasty and creative and if I didn't have to go to work later I'd spend the rest of the day here. The food was, in one word, amazing! The Frisco hot pastrami was put together well and super tasty. Ordered a custom pizza which blows away any of the pizzas I've tried elsewhere. We have been here twice now but this is my first review. The first time we came, we started off with the queso and I had the corn dogs. I must say I was not too impressed with them. They just did not hit the spot. Hubby had the gumbo and of course he ordered it again. It is not Louisiana gumbo but it is very tasty. Today I had the queso twice today. It is just so good!! We also had a great bar tender who let me sample a few beers before I settled on one that I like. I was looking for this beer that had a blueberry taste to it but she informed me that the beer is always changing and so I was like ohhhhh. However, I settled on this Hawaiian beer and it was light and for summer. Our food came rather fast and we will certainly be going back especially with football season coming up. read more

Start with beer. Today they have four in-house brews. The ESB was pretty good. The food was good for bar food, but just OK for a restaurant. I really enjoy the house made corn dogs, but recently other places have risen to the challenge. We shared a cuban sandwich. It was a bit dry, but the flavor was good. It did come on a hoagie roll, so it seemed a bit odd. We shared a calamari. I looked for the lemon, but that does not appear to be part of the deal. The fries are made with golden potatoes, so they cool down and get limp rather quickly. They only have high fructose ketchup, and no real mustard for the fries. As for mustard, they make an awful whole grain rendition that is runny and without the traditional mild bite that mustards have. They have had it for years, and made no effort to improve it. In fact, I think a number of items follow the pattern of executing a clever idea without any follow-through. For a place that brews beer, you would think some experimentation. Oh well, there are lots of TV screens and if you go in the afternoon, it is less loud than in the evenings, which is nearly unbearable. In fact, the last time we came in the evening, the only way we could talk was to text in ALL CAPS so we could hear each other. We always enjoy ourselves, though. It is a local institution! Freakishly good. The caliburrito is just one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten. The cheesesteaks are amazing. I also love the steak sammich. The only thing thats meh are the fries. I really enjoyed my impromptu late dinner and drinks with friends at Frisco taphouse. The space is open and welcoming, I really love it they have a communal table. However we sat at the bar which was spacious and comfortable. I was in need of comfort food, so I ordered the latkes and onion rings as well as a Moscow Mule. I really loved their Latkes! Being raised in a Jewish family, it can be difficult to find a decent Latka when ordering out. What really made these potato pancakes stand out Where their seasoning, perfect portioning per pancake, and the accompanying applesauce and horseradish/balsamic drizzle. Great flavors really hit the spot! The onion rings were good, they came with a nice aioli dip. My mule was also made really well - I appreciate the extra effort the bartender put in when asking what type of vodka I would prefer! I hope to return soon to try out more of the menu! read more

Hung out here before a show at Merriweather Post Pavilion it was a good "home base." They were happy to give us a big table for a group of 6-8 even though only 2 of us were there for the first 45 minutes and our group grew and shrunk through out the afternoon. Our server Bob was a delight. My beer was never empty. They have a huge selection of draft beers and a list so long of bottles that they encourage you to look at it on your smart phone (how green!!). Despite the reviews, the service was amazing. We were seated immediately and got our drinks and wing appetizer immediately. The sauce on the wings was really, really good. The drumettes were a bit fatty. Before we finished our appetizer, our order arrived. Definitely bar type food, but the meals were very good. The chicken burritos was very good. I came here on a date based on the suggestion from a friend that this was a great local place. My date drove up from Gaithersburg and easily found a parking spot; I was not as lucky and had to drive around a few times- definitely get there early on any popular night (we went on a Wednesday at 8). I have to say, this place was hyped up by my friend. So when I came here and I was told by our server "Oh we dont have that" (I asked for Heavy Seas, Flying Dog, and something else), I was disappointed. Some were on the menu but they were just out of them, others, they said they never carried- BUT their Crofton location did. And after looking up that menu, it is apparent that they are the better of the two locations, from the beer menu standpoint. The house beer was okay. We ended up trying some that our server recommended and they were decent. We both had salads and enjoyed them (they are salads afterall, pretty hard to mess up). I think this place would be good for a drunken Sunday Night Football experience, but definitely not a date or a gathering with friends. Tucked away and randomly placed, I've never had a bad experience here. Been here for multiple happy hours and a date, so I've been here for various occasions. I feel like this place is always packed from the bar area to the dining area. I really enjoy the lounge area, I came here for happy hour and we legit just ate appetizers, drank beer, and hung out in the lounge for what seemed like hours. Along with what seemed like a million types of beers the food selection is not to shabby either...from typical bar food like wings and nachos you also can have burritos or jambalaya. You honestly can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but I would highly recommend the nachos they're amazing. The beer selection is immense, they have a board above the bar that will list all the options and servers are really good about explaining the breakdown and helping with recommendations, there's a beer for everyone. Came here on a Thursday night with some homies. The parking lot was full, but I found a spot in a nearby plaza. The chorizo queso dip was flavorful, but a little oily. Tuna poke was decent, though the fish didn't taste too fresh. Sante Fe burger tasted like a regular burger; we didn't taste any Santa Fe-esque seasonings. It was cooked well and the fries were good. My mahi fillet was subpar. The fish was overcooked and I tried to mask the rubbery taste with large forkfuls of polenta. Service was quick and friendly. There was a good selection of beers. Poor start that didn't get any better when I decided to get the "jumbo grilled wings" which I found out were neither "jumbo" or "grilled". Don't put false advertising on your menu. Wow! This place is amazing! My fiancé and I wanted to grab a bite to eat before a movie and ended up at Frisco! We were not disappointed! For some reason Frisco's can be tough to find via GPS even though it's right there on Dobbin Road. It's built into one of the industrial complexes along that road, but still perfectly visible, yet I find myself driving right by it almost every time I'm heading there. This place has a large main room with a long bar, as well as a secondary dining room. This wide open space does make the place very loud when it is corwded, which is often. They have lots of craft beers available on tap, but that is kept exclusively on a video list at the bar. If you don't have a good vantage point, you can usually ask your server for a recommendation. Food isn't the focus here, but it isn't ignored either. We are usually impressed by their rotating sandwiches. My wife got a Bratwurst special last time we were there. She was very happy with the Brat, and the spicy mustard it came with was eye-popping good. My Roasted Vegetable Pannini was also tasty, and the Onion Rings I ordered were the right kind of crispy. We are also impressed that they offer Rice and Beans as a standard side, tough to find outside of a Mexican restaurant. read more

I do wish they had prices listed as there is quite a range and they're no where to be found without asking (which is awkward). Their house beers are now called Reckless and their quite good. I stopped here for Happy Hour with a few coworkers and had a really great experience! First of all, there are plenty of beers on tap. If I had to guess, I'd say there were at least 40 different drafts to choose from. The layout of the place is very open, with several large tables for bigger parties and about a dozen smaller tables for more intimate groups. The bar stretches across the whole place, but fills up quickly. Our bartender, although I didn't catch his name, was fantastic. He checked up on our table frequently and recommended some great brews when I told him what kind of beers I usually like. All of the appetizers I tried were fantastic, but I would highly recommend the pita & hummus. The pita bread is soft and fluffy, while the hummus is fresh and of high quality. I also enjoyed the crab dip, but the portion was relatively small. This is a great place to socialize and an awesome spot for beer lovers! read more

One of the better selection of craft beers you can find in the area. Do yourself a favor and skip the beer that they brew in house -- it's cheaper for a reason -- and they need to give up the hobby. Why the two-star review? How much are the beers here? It's not listed anywhere and you have to follow some convoluted color-coded system to figure out how large of a pour it is -- and heaven forbid it's poured out in their goblet which is a terrible cup to drink beers out of. If you ask a bartender why they don't list prices, they'll get salty and give you some absurd reason. Try it out. Also the TVs are set really high for people with giraffe necks. read more

We were invited to a private happy hour at Frisco. The staff was so attentive and friendly. They were constantly asking what they could get for you, bussing the tables and making sure that the sumptuous appetizer buffet was always full. We were so impressed with the appetizer buffet that they laid for us. It included Chicken Eggrolls, Crab Dip, Nachos, BBQ Wings with sauces and several different kinds of pizza by the slice.
