We stopped here on our way to Ocean City and we enjoyed our meals so much, we knew we had to stop here on our way back as well. The service was great, and the quality of food was beyond phenomenal, particularly for the price. I had the cheese steak sandwich and the chicken soup, along with unsweetened iced tea. The Tudo Hamburger was full of so many things. Their food was a topic of conversation for a while because it is original and fun. The burger had egg, ham, corn, potato crisps, and more on it. Had the Abacate Avacado. Its like an avacado/shrimp salad. Needed some salt, but otherwise it was a nice light fare. Think of it like a chicken salad. Been a couple of years since we last ate at Frix's. I had high expectations from last visit's great food and service. Ordered Crab Dip, Abacate Maraja, Asian Salad with Salmon and a Caipirinha. Bread that comes to table was delicious and hot! Crab Dip was hot, cheesy, and delicious. More of the good bread comes with it too. The Abacate seemed very bland. The shrimp had almost no flavor at all. My wife helped me eat it and she too found the dish bland and the shrimp flavorless. My wife had the Asian Salad which I tasted and found to be a little bland as well, but she liked it and finished it. More dressing on the side would be my recommendation if ordering this. I've been on a long search for a good Caipirinha drink in the USA. The South Americans make this drink smooth like a Margarita. I still have not found a place in the US that can duplicate this drink! Heading home from OC my husband & I stopped in for an early dinner on a Sunday. We sat at the bar. Our bartenders were super friendly and attentive. I enjoyed the house red sangria. The bar filled up quickly and we were happy we got there early. The camarao com maracuja (shrimp appetizer) was delicious... I think I'll order three of them next time. Busy place on a Friday night but we had planned to visit so we waited for a table. Cozy atmosphere and the service was friendly. So looking at the menu you have a good amount of options to where you want to return to try another entree to test out other sides. The caipirinha cocktail had a great taste to where you might be tempted to order a second one. I like that they have kids meals but would suggest they offer toppings for the pizza since it seemed pretty plain and lacked flavor. The mahi-mahi with fried banana was delicious. The mango coleslaw was ok but felt too dry. The bife acebolado was ok but not something we would get again since it didn't pop in flavor. We made reservations to dine here for an early midday Valentines meal. Our server, Courtney was great from the time we sat down until we walked out. We started with a glass of red sangria. We ordered two appetizers. The fried shrimp and the avocado with shrimp. For our entrees we had grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. On my most recent visit, I ordered the filet mignon, which comes with any 2 sides(kits to choose from). There are many gluten free options. Everything on the menu is perfectly prepared and for the quality, very reasonably priced. I also enjoy their martinis. They have a Brazilian fried cheese basket with ham that is out of this world. Grilled chicken in mushroom sauce with fries and fried onions - the mushroom sauce was creamy and flavourful - perfect compliment to the juicy, tender grilled chicken! Shrimp avocado - diced grilled shrimp folded into mashed avocado and cherry tomatoes topped with two whole grilled shrimp. Light and refreshing! Went so well with the side of sweet potato fries and complimentary bread. I wasn't participatory hungry and this appetizer hit the spot! Sweet potato fries - fresh out of the fryer! One of the best sweet potato fries I've ever had in any restaurant! So crispy yet retain their soft so yummy center! I wished I had a whole bucket of these! Overall - Foods were delicious. Amazing place! Worth going out of your place for. The food was excellent--great range of interesting dishes at a reasonable price point. Good wine list by the glass or bottle. The decor is elegant too (I like the orange tableclothes.) There is no outdoor seating, but spacing is good inside and the staff were wearing masks. For apps we had the stuffed avocado (like guacamole with shrimp and green peppers), fried yucca with linguica and onions, which my daughter said was the best thing she's ever eaten, and just baked pao de quiejo with ham spread--I'm addicted to those tapioca cheese balls! Their grilled meats come with chumming-churri sauce--I shared the lamb chops and rib eye--both cooked to how I asked. My daughter's salmon topped with shrimp and crab was terrific, and Anderson, the wait staff was so kind and solicitous of my father who wanted the filet with mushroom sauce but neither of the sides. So glad I used Yelp to make our dinner decision! My fellow Yelpers did not steer me wrong! We would not have found Frix's if we had waited to see something on the main road. We got lucky and arrived right before the rush started. We ordered the shrimp avocado starter, which was deeelish! Of the options I gave the server, he suggested the mahi mahi, and it was SO good! The fries were also very good, and I really enjoyed the mango slaw! My friend ordered one of the other apps that was pretty tasty as well. Reasonably priced steak- their "top sirloin" is $18 and comes with two sides. I asked for medium rare and i got a steak that was well done on one end and rare on the other. There was almost an inch of fat along one side of it as well, which I ended up cutting off. I was still full from the meal without it though, and the chimmichurri sauce was delicious. I was grateful they brought it out early and dipped the complimentary bread in it while we waited. My boyfriend's medium well steak was cooked more accurately, so maybe mine was an anomaly. The sides selection is pretty wide- I got sweet potato fries and sauteed spinach and my boyfriend got mashed potatoes and asparagus. The spinach was cooked well and the portion of fries were generous. They were nice and crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside - reminded me of Costco fries. For the price it's decent, but I probably wouldn't go back. read more

Loved the french bread. Light and soft on the inside yet crispy crust, yum! Our waiter was Andre, always smiling and effectively got our food and drinks out to us with out any fuss. It competes with larger restaurants with waterfront seating, outdoor fire pits etc. it sits right off rt 50 which is not a great view. So they have to be good to make it in their location. The service is top notch especially Dean at the bar. Being a Brazilian restaurant you may not recognize some of the food. Ask questions and you'll have a great meal. All the meat is very flavorful and well prepared. The steaks are cut a little differently than Americans are used to. Still tastes great. Give this little gem a try. Unexpected great Brazilian-themed restaurant. On the left my daughter took a picture of her chicken tenders. I tried the shrimps in coco milk with mango rice - tasted really authentic. My wife went for a top sirloin with sides of mashed potato and mushrooms - 'tasty'. If you're familiar with it, we also had THE Brazilian great side dish called Pan de Quejo - small puff pastry with cheese in it. So good, and theirs tasted authentic (we've been to Brazil a few times over the years). Good advice - if you've never tasted it, order one side and see for yourself, you won't regret it. read more

Repulsive, i would rather get food poisoning then eat their caesar salad for more than 2 bites (which is all i took) the romaine was stocks with no leaves, the chicken was cooked with the streak most likely bc all it tasted like was a full cheeseburger (i do not eat cheeseburgers) the peppers that were labeled in the description were barely found on my plate there was a total of 3 small slices of bell pepper. THE CROUTONS i could've gagged. they were SQUISHY and the flavor was inedible. We got the jalapeño poppers for an app and they were over cooked, and not to mention the weird canned looking and tasting chicken filling that has no cream cheese and was dry as the desert. Our server never asked anything, other than our orders and never ever checked on us and that's if she was even out in the dining area, she was no where to be found the entire meal read more

It's not often that I give a perfect review. The food, the ambiance, the decor, and the fair prices for such quality, blew me away. You can literally feel the chefs passion in the flavor and presentation...it's rare to see that kind of care in a small establishment. The hand cut fries, need their own sentance! They are presented in a miniature fry basket, which is adorable, and very fitting. The taste, natural but seasoned perfectly. Born and raised in Maryland, I chose to add Old Bay, but it just made good taste even better. I personally ordered the Filet. For less than $25, I had an extraordinary cut of meat, and huge portion of fresh sauteed asparagus and mashed potatoes. I'm not ashamed to say I cleared my plate. The meat...oh, the meat...tender, juicy, and I cut it with a butter knife. Why? Because I could! I was told they were cooked on lava rocks for evenness, and rubbed with a Brazilian rock salt to cook in the natural flavor, in leiu of seasoning, and I'm so impressed. I never knew steak could taste that good without random chef chosen seasonings. Needless to say, if you are a red meat person; eat here. Or, if you are human and appreciate flair, passion, and excellence in your meal, eat here. I declare a do-over! A do-over of ever reading these reviews on this establishment and being "Yelped" to actually try this place out! DAY/TIME: Sunday, 2pm AMBIANCE/DECOR: nice. Main sitting area at center of space with bar and lounge on the side. SERVICE: Waitress was attentive enough without being too over bearing but she also wasn't anything extraordinary to the point she gets an extra star. We were pretty much the only ones in the restaurant, so she was able to handle our party. She also looked like LaLa from Vanderpump Rules but with glasses. It didn't hit me until the day after. FOOD: okayyy. The most important part! Here's a list of what everyone got and their thoughts on the food... - Small Plates, Cheddar Mac N Cheese - The way it was presented literally made my mouth water. However, it was bland. We had to add salt to make it taste better. - Small Plates, Camarao Empanada (Shrimp) - The party like this a lot. This was a winner. - Small Plates, Coxa Crème (Chicken skewer w/ hot sauce and Yuca seasoning) - This was good too. Kinda would have preferred this as my main meal; however, I would've had to get like 4 of them as the small plates serving is literally only one skewer. - Small Plates, Provolone a Milenasa (fried mozzarella balls with their tomato sauce) - this was good. The burger was overcooked and it just had absolutely no flavor. All 3 who got this agreed it wasn't good. One of us asked for medium rare and all of ours were all cooked the same way... This is a great place to eat on Kent Island. My husband and I found them via YELP last month. I love their menu which to me was a delightful fusion of European, South American and Caribbean flavors. I fell in love with the Avocado appetizer. It's enough to share or to have as a meal. The empanada appetizer is also delicious. I chose the seafood option and it was perfect. Staff and service are impeccable, pricing reasonable, and portions generous. We have recommended Frix's to others and we will definitely return. read more
