Do yourself a favor, order the Mandioca E. Linguica! Whole man of there items are delicious, this is an absolute home run appetizer. So much so that I order it as a meal, all the time. My girlfriend, family and friends eat here all the time and have always had delicious food, coupled with wonderful and attentive service. It's one of the best places to eat on the island as far as I'm concerned! Its not cheap, but not expensive. A dinner for 2 with appetizers, wine and entrees is around $75, but don't let that scare you. The food is delicious, unlike many of the bland restaurants on the island. It's a great date place too. First of all, I'd like to say that up until last evening I would give Frix Fireside Grill 5 stars. We frequent this establishment because we are locals and have for years. The owners and staff are always attentive and friendly. I realize we are in the middle of the Covid -19 pandemic, but last evening trying to order food for carry out was a fiasco. The " person" ( I use this term very loosley) answering the phones was very disorganized and very rude. While I understand this is a time of struggle for all of us and tensions are high, I still do not understand the series of events. Our friend placed and order for carry out. My husband attempted to call and place an order directly after and got no answer for almost 1/2 hour. When they finally answered, she asked him to hold and then laid the phone down with the line active. She proceeded to answer other lines and calls (we could hear it all) for almost 45 minutes. Our friends called to cancel their order since we were going to eat together and the phone attendent hadn't even bothered to pick up the phone and take our order. When they tried to explain why they were canceling, she got very defensive and condescending. Mind you, we could hear both sides of this conversation since she still had that phone laying down with my husband on the other line... Instead of saying, I'm sorry we are very busy and it's a little hectic, she chose to escalate the whole thing and when she got a taste of her own crappy attitude back she said "fuck you" to my friend and hung up. Again, we heard the whole thing from my husbands phone. I probably don't have to tell you, that didn't go over well. It got worse from there and the police were called, and subsequently this bitch " banned us forever". I know this is not how the owners expect their customers to be treated, and they probably have no idea what transpired last evening but I'm going to hope that after reading this review ( since they were not available last evening to help straighten this mess out) that they will do something to correct our experience. As I stated, we've been eating here for years and this women is someone we have never seen before...and ages doing a really bad job representing a business that the owners have tried to build for a very long time and maintain in a very turbulent time to boot. Sorry for the long post but I was a bystander and watched this whole thing unfold and I know this is not how it should have gone. read more

The food was okay we ordered blackened mahi mahi and it was okay lacked seasoning. My son ordered grilled chicken breast and it was a very very very thin piece of chicken breast and it was super pale as if it didn't have seasoning but it was edible and the portion of the fries was enough for my 3 yrs old not for a teenage boy. The jalapeño poppers were really good. If you order fried banana just know that's exactly what it is not fried sweet Spanish bananas. The waitress was great!! She gets 5 stars from us. read more

The reviews were spot on - what a gem! Incredibly friendly service, and absolutely yummy food. Had a mix of crab dip, Avocado/shrimp, and "pastels" small plates, along with an order of grilled salmon with grilled asparagus and a mango salad. Everything was great. The pastels are similar to empanadas I've had at a Spanish restaurant, but with different filling choices. Had the shrimp & crab. Good ambiance, and nice music, too. We were hoping for so much more after reading the reviews. Apparently Sunday night is not the right night for this restaurant. It was dead there was no one there, the parking lot was empty, and we thought they may have been closed. The abioaunce was very nice and waitress was very friendly. The menu looked good, enough variety but not too many items which makes you worry how fresh everything is going to be. Prices are on the fine dining end. My wife order the house salad. It came out quickly and was fresh and delicious. She ordered the mahi-mahi, asparagus, and mango slaw. I ordered the sword fish, mashed potatoes, and fried bananas. The food came out after an adequate wait. Both fish dishes were good but tasted as if they had been frozen. We were expecting more for the price. The mashed potatoes, asparagus, and fried bananas were better than the main dish. The mango slaw was okay but was probably a day or two old. Again the food was okay but we did not feel it was up to the quality of the price. We don't mind paying fine dining prices if the quality matches, unfortunately in this case it did not. read more

I've stopped through here several times. Brazilian influenced cuisine that's mainstreamed enough for the Eastern Shore. In comparison to some of the nicer restaurants I've been to, this place is probably closer to 4 stars; however, the food is perfectly executed, service is fast, the staff is friendly and the prices are unbeatable (e.g. my husband got a steak, hand cut fries and a nice salad for $10 during lunch). Did a take out dinner last night and it was delicious. The grilled fish was as delicious as it's always been in the restaurant. They were fast, efficient and made it easy. The only advice for next time - the fries that went with one of the sandwiches didn't travel well. I'd ask for a side substitution next time. Food was AMAZING!! Service was functionally adequate (took forever to get the check and pay, and some other steps took longer than usual; otherwise ok) but the *attitude* of the server was POOR. Our server, who never smiled or gave us her name (older short petite woman with white hair in a chin length bob) was visibly annoyed every single time we spoke to her. Despite us repeatedly saying please and thank you, and being as easy/friendly as possible, she barely spoke any words to us. Every time we made a request (ie for a box to pack up leftovers or asking a question about the items on the menu), the several seconds before she gave a response (and accompanying facial expressions) made it clear we annoyed the bejeesus out of her. Even saying thank you to her as we left, she refused to make eye contact while she stood idly at the hostess stand. Have never felt so unwelcome in our lives! Best restaurant on Kent Island. Period. It is slightly more expensive that other places, but the service and quality of the food are worth every penny. The people are friendly, prompt and accommodating, while the food is ALWAYS cooked perfect. I frequent this place every couple of weeks with my wife and son and we are always incredibly pleased, whether we are sitting down or taking out. I have been here a few times and it is always great. The crab dip is always a hit! Other options that we have enjoyed are the southwest flatbread, and the Chicken Stroganoff. I most recently tried their Lemon Salmon entree, which is a nice grilled piece of salmon topped with crab, shrimp and a lemon sauce. This was very delicious. There are so many options for mixing and matching entrees and sides, that there are seemingly unlimited possibilities. The appetizers were also divine. I can highly recommend the sauteed spinach side - it is the best spinach I've ever eaten. I had the mahi mahi, while my husband and son focused on the steak. The interior is beautiful, but you could never tell from the outside. This restaurant is located in a strip shopping center just off the highway, so it could be easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Nice change of pace for Kent Island. The decor is lovely and the atmosphere was great in the dining room; tables spread far enough apart to not be disturbed by your neighbors conversation. We had the 2 dinners: shrimp and mahi mahi. Both were delicious from the flame grilled cooking, ample portions, and delicious without need of heavy sauces. We had grilled asparagus, black beans, and sweet potato fries as sides. The asparagus was delicious and also cooked on the grill. The fries were hot and fresh fried. The black beans were flavorful and some of the best I've ever had; with a husband from Latin America, I have had LOTS of black beans! Service was attentive, and management very welcoming and friendly. Definitely give it a try. As a side note, I am on a restricted diet and had no trouble finding simple, fresh, delicious food with lots of choices. Great for low carb, gluten free, no-processed-food diets. We had two cars and I arrived in the area about an hour before the second car so I spent some time looking for a good place to eat. I found Frix Grill based upon the positive YELP reviews. I also checked out some of the other local restaurants. I ruled some of them out because the prices were higher that we are comfortable with. Frix Grill is very nice with plenty of room between the tables. The menu has a terrific choice of fish, meat and salad options. The food was fantastic. The four of us had different dishes and everything was perfect. The bill was very reasonable - especially compared to some of the fish houses in the area. read more
