This place surprised me! I mean it's super cute inside and service is great but honestly I thought it would be a little basic. I was so wrong! The ingredients are fresh with tons of different flavors. I had the Waldorf salad which I immediately was blown away! Definitely not bag salad, lots of different greens and fruits with a yummy dressing and I added chicken that was perfect, not fatty or gamey. Potato salad was delish. How cute is this place? We weren't here at meal time but it looks great! We just browsed in the store. Found gifts for the family - a tea cup and some nostalgia candy. Bought some jam - tart cherry jam and strawberry margarita jam - can't wait to try them. And you know when things are super busy but someone still goes out of their way to be pleasant and helpful? We've been to this place a few times before but that was to acquire various jams and treats. We've never stopped in for lunch and that's only because it wasn't in the lunch hour and we weren't hungry at the time. In our quest to find breakfast places close to home we found out that Froehlich's has weekend brunch. This last Sunday we stopped in to check it out. I decided to go with the biscuits and gravy and my wife went with the Savory French toast. I thought the sausage gravy tasted like pizza sausage and was lacking with the amount of biscuit. I ended up leaving half a biscuit because the gravy was all gone. All-in-all it was OK but next time I'll try something else. Now my wife loved the Savory French toast, she asked to change up the jelly to strawberry instead of the Jalapeno jelly and our waitress was accommodating. She thought it was excellent. This is a cute little store with all the kitchen fixens, wines and jelly's and we usually stop when in town. We will be back. read more

Went there with a friend on a non busy weekend. There were tables open but we were told there would be a five minute wait. So we sat and waited. 10 minutes went by and in walks a group of 5 young girls. They were promptly seated. I'd recommend the owners take down the understaffing is the new pandemic sign, and realize that the issues they have are with the plentiful staff they employ! No, No and No! Went there for Mother's Day, just two of us and also made a reservation. They were not busy and we were asked to wait. I said I had made a reservation outside but since it didn't looked like they were seating anyone out there it would be ok to sit inside. The elderly gentleman stated, I wish someone would have told me. Strike one! Mentioned that we would take the two top at the window if it is available and the elderly gentleman said it's too hot there. We said we didn't mind. He wouldn't sit us there. Strike two! 15 minutes later he sat us on the opposite side. We sat there for 20 minutes and no one came to the table. I asked the waiter that was serving tables next to us because he brought water to a couple that sat down after us and, he said it wasn't his station. Strike three! We waited for coffee, we waited for food, we even had to get up to ask for butter and jam. The food was cold when it came. Strike Four, five and six! We were charged $5 for a biscuit in substation for toast that he did not mention an up charge for. Strike 7!!! Do I need to continue??? We will never go back there again. Froelich's hit another home run for us tonight. Friendly service, delicious food, pleasant atmosphere, and a thoughtfully planned protocol amidst the pandemic. The pimento cheese and bread appetizer was an ample portion for two, not to mention really tasty. I'm a big fan of the fruit and nut salad and it was exactly what I craved--a great combination of sweet and savory. And the pineapple cake with ice cream and brandied cherries topped it all off. I bought a jar of the cherries because they were so good. I love visiting Three Oaks and lunch or dinner at Froelich's will continue to be a must. read more

This was probably the best meal of our weekend getaway. We were concerned about dining during covid so we got there 15 minutes before they opened so we didn't have to wait too long for an outdoor table. We also had 4 dogs with us and it was great they allowed our babies on the patio area. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. Everything from our drinks to meal was just delicious. Totally wasn't expecting to come across this amazing place when I asked my husband to take country roads while we headed home to Indiana. Restaurant, Bar, Deli, Shopping Galore! For our first experience of Froehlich's, we thought carryout to cooler to winery for picnic might be a pretty good way to go. In retrospect, the winery part might have been much better on a weekday than a crazy-busy Covid-19 socially-distanced Saturday. But the Froelich's-carryout part was very good. Therese H. had the "Pick 3 Salad" with a.) egg salad, b.) chicken pesto salad, c.) Mediterranean tuna salad, and a whole lotta greens. John H. had a tub of chicken-pesto salad and one French baguette (holy cow, that thing seemed 30 inches long!) obviously fresh-baked, with a perfect crust. F's offers many options, bakery, pantry, lunch menu, dinner menu, dine-in, carryout, even catering. We ordered our carryout online, and appreciated the text-message notification system. Excellent food and a really cool atmosphere. I tried the chicken sandwich. The portions were large and it tasted very good. There were several things on the menu that look worth trying and I look forward to going back. Not one of the five people in our party left happy. Despite numerous staff members standing around, it took almost an hour to receive our food. Two cold wraps were the first to be done, but not worth the wait. The other two sandwiches from the deli were mistakenly given to someone else, resulting in a further 30 minute wait. To top it off, the only order from the restaurant (a burger) never came out. After following up, we were told the order was never sent to the kitchen. We should have asked for our money back. We came for brunch and were seated promptly. Lovely space and the store/pantry section is wonderful. The food service was horrendous. Our server wore his mask barely covering his top lip (nose exposed), he took our order and then we waited 25 minutes for the drinks to arrive and over an hour for our food. at about the 60 min mark, the manager came over ON THE DEFENSIVE to tell us that everything is made to order and that it's normal to wait 30 minutes for food orders. We told her it had been an hour and she said, "hmm, I'll check on that". She never came back to apologize or offer "drinks on us". When food arrived, it was good, not great. Went there over the weekend. 20 minutes for a table. Sat at the bar instead. Ordered egg over easy, WHITE toast, bacon and hash browns. Well they have NO white bread - only multigrain. I canceled the egg and toast. As a diabetic I needed to eat. Order arrived with egg that looked like it was ran - over by Santa's sleigh and stomped on by the reindeer, just to make sure it was dead. Over easy?? Mind you, i canceled the egg and toast. The multigrain toast arrived - i told him i canceled that with HIM and he seemed to not recall that. I ate the smallest order of cold hash browns I have ever been served. Two pieces of bacon that clearly came from the baby piglet as they were 1 x 6" MAYBE? I had to walk around the store and try to find some food to eat. Spend additional $16 to get something in my stomach. Do i recommend? Uh that would be a big N O. read more

After eating dozens of courses at Froehlichs from lunch to dinner and brunch I can't find any flaws to speak of for Colleens dream restaurant and retail space. Too many reviewers often use one experience to critique a restaurant while I return many times before sharing my experience. Not only is Froehlichs a truly unique dining experience for farm to table options but more so for the astute and proud business woman who Colleen Froehlich is. Her vision for the Three Oaks community is unparalleled in its reach and scope. To remodel an old general store and former corset factory into a space that brings comfort and warmth to thousands of people a month reveals who Colleen truly is, a giver, a mother, a visionary. The food is good, but a limited menu and much more expensive than you would expect for this type of food and the location. The host also forgot to seat us saying he thought he had seated us, even though we were the only ones sitting the in lobby ten feet away from him and went up to his stand twice while waiting to inquire when we would be seated. By the time we were seated 40 minutes after arrival, I was so hangry my head hurt and I didn't enjoy the lunch I dropped $100 on for 3 people for a burger, salad and sandwich without alcohol or dessert. He apologized, but no mention of comping us anything for his mistake and making us sit 20 minutes longer than promised. This was our 3rd time there and we won't be back. read more

Showed up at 3pm on a Saturday, which is apparently the NOT magic hour to arrive, as they stop serving food??....and won't seat you? But if you go to the back deli they'll throw something together for you. What nonsense is this!? The poor hostess had to explain herself over and over again as people walked in to eat. Lots of lost business. She needed some help up there to explain the asinine break in service, but no. Left all alone. We ended up ordering food to go at the quoty fingers "bar"....that they would allow us to eat in the discombobulated other eating area which consisted of messy tables that had not been cleaned or put back after a large party. Left over glasses and napkins all over. Well needless to say our order got goofed up. Only received half our order, and then they fixed it. But then wanted to see our receipt to prove the order, then requested we sign a second receipt???.....what!? Positive note!!....our sandwiches and salads we bought we GREAT!!! The store is very well done, but lacks management and service standards. It's too bad really. Hope to go back sometime when they actually want to let us spend money? I had a very upsetting and unpleasant experience at Froehlich's Kitchen and Pantry. My husband and I were greeted and seated by the host along with our service dog. The host and our server couldn't have been nicer. We ordered and were served our lunch and had just started eating when the owner's husband (who said he was a part-owner) came over to us and asked us to leave. He said since our dog didn't have a service dog vest on that he had to "draw the line" and have us leave. I said that I had proof on my phone to confirm that our dog was indeed a certified service dog. He said that didn't matter since the dog had no service dog tag or vest. He was dismissive and unreasonable. We were in the middle of eating and we were being chased out of the restaurant and told he would call the police if we didn't leave now. Coincidently, there was a single gentlemen across from us who also had a dog without any service vest. I asked why he wasn't being bothered and asked to leave. I was told he was finishing his meal. I said that is what we were trying to do as well. I simply don't understand why my rights were being violated while the man with the dog across from me was being treated differently. I suspected it was because we are gay and he simply didn't want us in his restaurant. How appalling! I have never been treated with such disrespect and would only hope that this establishment is not homophobic. Anyway, we ended up leaving as we were told and we will never be back. What a disgraceful way to run a business and to treat people. Shame on you!! read more

Extremely disappointed and wouldn't recommend. We waited over an hour for food that was way too overpriced for what we got. We ordered a few salads and a spaghetti dish so there should be no excuse why it took so long. We are from out of town for a few days and decided to spend our dinner out at this restaurant which we now regret. Our server barely checked on us and didn't care to offer refills throughout the hour plus we waited. We even watched the table next to us get complimentary bread for having to wait when we were offered nothing. We spent our time there very upset which didn't cause for an enjoyable night out. We were told they wanted to serve the two biggest tables first which caused the delay, however, when we looked around the restaurant we didn't see any tables much larger than ours. We left enraged and quite honestly hungry as we didn't anticipate to order enough food to tide us over for our hour plus wait. I love this place. Beautifully created space with impeccable food. We're had the gouda mac and cheese (best I've ever had hands down) and - a forget the name of it - but it was a ham and cheese sandwich with slices of green apples in it. Freaking phenomenal! And the service was perfect. The second we walked in it felt like we were family. Wonderful host, servers, and fantastic food. Keeps me coming to Michigan for sure. read more

We always have a great experience when we visit Froehlich's. We usually visit for dinners but recently stopped in to try their brunch. The service is always excellent. Our sampling of various appetizers, entrees, and desserts have been carefully crafted, artistically plated, and delicious. The menu seems to rotate on a regular basis. I can't narrow down my favorite dish as they have all been great. However, my wife and I greatly enjoyed their dessert flight when you can't deceive what you want and would like a sampling of several offerings. read more

Seriously, don't even know where to start... we have never been to Three Oaks but the "Peterson" sisters happened upon this gem. We were seated promptly at a lovely table by the window...Leah, our server was quick to greet us and offered great drink recommendations. And, then...dinner. We all ordered different entrees and shared - I mean, what else would sisters do?? Catfish, shrimp po boy, seafood pot pie, chicken Asian noodle salad...are you kidding?? 5 stars all around.
