    Big Shot

While staying at the attached Marina Grand Resort, we stopped in for a drink. They strongly encourage reservations but they let us sit at the bar without one. The bartender was really friendly and checked on us often. It was beautiful inside and very dimly lit. They had a few crafted cocktails to choose from but a good variety of liquor options, beer, and wine to choose from as well. I had the Big Shot which was beautiful. The burnt tortilla chili salt rim was exactly that. I wasn't a fan of that, but it was pretty and the drink was still good. My brother had the Fortune Teller which he liked as well.

This place really!!!???? It was a last minute kinda thang my hunny asked me to join him in. A 45 Min road trip just to get outta the house as hwy 12 drives are his jam. We got hungry and actually picked this place after I used my Yelp! App! This place won after my research. It was everything fellow yelpers said it would be in the virtual world, but it ended up beyond ! The setting , the ambiance, the food, the service (Mrs Tonk) the drinks , the dessert!!?!!?! We are now permanently in their hands as patrons. The deviled eggs! Do it . Even if you're a little bit intimidated by caviar or roe as we were . Worth it and we'd do it again. The Caesar salad ? Amazing ! The baked feta on sourdough crostini ? Omg ! Yes again! The martinis ? Perfectly made . (Especially the after dinner chocolate martini served with cacao beans) The cheesy pasta thing I can't pronounce still ? Even after our amazingly warm and expert server taught us to pronounce. Omg. So good. We can't wait to go back . And if you have room for dessert. That chocolate cake sprinkled with flaked sea salt ... just sealed the deal for us as we told each other " they know what they're doing ". If it's warm enough sit outside in the marina on lake Michigan, if it's cold ? Sit inside, cuz it don't matter... the place is just as gorgeous and perfect as the rest of The experience. Thanks Bentwood! Can't wait To Come back for the other menu items we didn't have room for !

Amazing food. Started with the small plate of wood fired french feta. It was very tasty and had a great blend of unique flavors. Then enjoyed chicken thighs on a bed of lemon yogurt--Highly recommend!! Also shared Baked Lumache, a pasta dish with bechamal sauce and cherry tomatoes. Great ambiance, food, and service. Staff is top notch here.

Great food! We split the mussels and fish and chips and both were delicious. The muscles were flavorful and came with two thick slices of fresh sourdough. The fish and chips were also a hit. They give you a few toffees for dessert and since it was my birthday they brought them out in a little tray with a handle. Cute!

Stopped in for brunch while traveling through New Buffalo. The ambiance is amazing - our inside seat had a great view of the marina. The food was good - my husband had the fried chicken sandwich and I had the turkey bacon sandwich. Both came with fries. Our server was also very attentive. I will say it's a tad pricy for lunch - 3 glasses of wine, a chicken sandwich and a turkey bacon sandwich was about $90 - not including tip. But still a great experience.

Bentwood Tavern is located inside of Marina Grand Resort, not very hard to locate! Excellent ambiance with the warm lighting, comfortable seating, and nice views. My family and i thoroughly enjoyed each meal, I highly recommend the Turkey B.A.L.T. (Bacon, avocado, lettuce, and tomato). French fries were very fresh and crispy! My uncle stated the eggs and hash were the best he'd ever had. Our service was very good, we got a few recommendations for shopping and ice cream. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Union Pier!

Best burger I've had perfectly cooked with crispy buns and fresh fries. Great lakeside view, friendly service, and clear attention to quality.

Nice interior. We were surprised, for a Friday night, we were able to walk up and get a table inside with no wait. They have a patio with seating but there was a wait. Hostess was very friendly and server, not so much. The Tomahawk Pork Chops were great and had a side of Brussels Sprouts which were very tasty. The Burger on the other hand was not, save you $25 and order something else.

My wife and I enjoy coming here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner when in New Buffalo. The view is nice, sure. But we're there for the food, service, and atmosphere. It's far enough away from the main strip energy and those staying at the hotel are in slow motion relax mode enjoying their meal. Cheers.

Love the menu here! When I'm away from home I like trying dishes I can't get at home. On vacation with friends and this is the first restaurant we tried. Wonderful variety of different dishes. For starters we went with the toasted cauliflower, mushroom toast and the beets. All were delicious and shareable for our party of six. The lobster pasta was delicious. Lobster roll wasn't a favorite and my friend loves seafood, growing up in Maryland, shes pretty picky. Homemade chips were good to me but not everyone. Fish and chips were good too. Service was wonderful! Heather was training and she was great, very engaging and professional. Terry was great as well and very friendly as well as professional. Check them out!

Dinner here during our weekend getaway was outstanding, the premium ambiance, service, and food was sooo good. The vibe is primo yacht with dark colors and perfect dinner lighting. The sourdough bread and deviled eggs appetizers were excellent as were the salads and entrees-- savory moist roast chicken, crispy fish and chips, and juicy mussels. Good drinks as well. The view of the harbor added to the experience too. Def grab a reservation as it gets packed.

Had dinner with the family while staying at the Grand Marina hotel. The setting is really nice, right on the marinara with sun shades. The food was all excellent, especially the trout and cocktail shrimp. They had a good kids menu as well. Definitely pricey (trout was $40), but about what you would expect.

Is there a dog friendly patio?

Yep!!! Right by the marina. We were just there in June. Lovely restaurant and nice view, too. We sat outside with our pup :)

    Heard they are dog friendly?

I really enjoyed my lox bagel and thought it was one of the best I've had!! The flavors were nicely balanced with the onion, capers, cream cheese and lox. I was able to eat it easily and get a little piece of everything in each bite. The bagels seem smaller than average, but who needs giant bagels anyway? I found these to be reasonably sized. Big overstuffed bagels that fall apart while you eat them - lox sliding all over the place - are really annoying. These were satisfying without making you feel gross after. The coffee selection exceeded our expectations. We shared a chemex for 2. They had a few single origin coffees to choose from and we had their pink bourbon Columbian. We enjoyed our coffee and bagels outside in their seating area and this was once of my favorite parts of our trip!
