Two of us stopped in for a quick bloody and some breakfast. While I understand that Bloody Mary's are a bit pricey, but $16 and $17 ( for spicy) a piece seems a bit steep. (About a 12oz serving) To be fair, there was a pickle, celery stalk and a mini slider of pimento cheese sandwich, but that was it. Very bland and basic mix. Just not good for the price. As for the meal, after seeing the prices, we decided to split a "deconstructed French toast" plate. It was 3-4 slices of French toast, cut sideways and a slight drizzle of frosting. It did come with a nice handful of fresh fruit, but there again, not really worth almost $20. The server was great. Very responsive and friendly. They sell wine ,beer, and a variety of whiskey items in the back of store bar shop. They have a large variety of kitchen items, bakery items, jams, preserves. You could spend hours browsing. Fun little spot in small little town but the food was good especially the pepper burger. Not too spicy. The place was clean and nice and the service was great. Seemed liked a sleepy little spot but it had a nice bar and food and also a nice store. Will definitely be back. Worth the trip. read more

This place was a miss, unfortunately. The biscuits and gravy was very bland. I decided to have it wrapped to bring home and will add seasoning and sausage to it. It is hard to mess up sausage gravy when sausage has a lot of flavor in itself. There was very little sausage in it though. Full Circle has it down. So, I ordered the pickle brined chicken sandwich, which was also bland and quickly getting soggy because the supposed pickle aioli was a liquid. Such potential. A good pickle remoulade and chow chow would be amazing. Oh well. The chicken peanut noodle salad was ok. The coleslaw and potato salads were good. I spent $75 and left a bit disappointed. This place definitely has a cook in the kitchen, not a chef. The store is nice, service was good. I may try some of the jarred products on the shelf sometime, but I will skip the restaurant. read more

We met at The Oaks but they were closed so ended up here unfortunately. Would never go back.The frittatas they served myself and another reeked so bad evreyone was like "what stinks? "The other individual wouldn't even touch it,it smelled that bad.I tried a small bite that had to be spat into napkin.Manager named Hannah came over and was beyond rude. First and foremost...No one asked for the inedible food to be taken off bill she started off with she would t be removing it from bill and that's what feta cheese smells like.We are Greek so...We know what Feta smells like and this rank smell isn't it. Three Oaks has a lot to offer for a small town, and Froehlich's has their hand in more than one place. Their main location is a unique place as it has a restaurant and bar as well as a deli counter. What's different here is that, amongst the bar and deli area, you can shop for kitchen ware and other craft items. In the back, they have a "bar shop" where they sell all kinds of interesting bar ware as well as beer/wine/spirits. The food is outstanding with options for everyone. If you aren't sure, just stop in and walk around (since it's a "shop" as well as a restaurant/bar, you can just walk around the inside and gauge for yourself if you're interested, which you will be). read more

Excellent, excellent, excellent! I had a fantastic experience at Froehlich's for brunch. My family came early, 30 minutes after opening and are happy we did. This place is popular and fills up fast. Awesome ambiance. Large windows with an open kitchen and bar in the middle of the space. Nice background music to add to it. Reminds me of a nice Chicago spot. Their menu is large enough. Not too small, not too big. The biscuits and gravy were tasty. My wife got a breakfast sandwich with a jalepeno blueberry jam. Wow. I must say, their drinks are good but damn near virgin . Have tried it twice; with a few months in between. I had a salad the first time. Their burger the second. It was supposed to be a panzanella salad but it was anything but. Just a lot of lettuce, a few tomatoes and some hard croutons. Burger was underdone and no flavor. My lunch companion had the Po-boy which consisted of a large bun with a dab of sauce and 5 dried up overcooked corn meal encrusted shrimp. Service was ok but the gentleman in charge of seating people was inefficient, forgetting who we were and why we were there - both times. Second time I reminded him I was waiting, on the list, and as I sat there (the only person sitting on the benches), he proceeded to call me on my phone. So, food lackluster overall besides all the a shopping and nice trimmings. Nice building. But I can make better meal at home for less than half the price. read more

Stopped here for brunch to meet a friend as a halfway point between Grand Rapids and Chicago. Located right in quaint downtown Three Oaks, it's across from their bakery which is a little confusing but not unclear. (However once inside, you see that this location also sells their baked goods and other wares too so guess you need to visit both!) Managed to get in without a wait into the airy farmhouse style dining space. The menu has a locally focused vibe featuring many of their products that they sell in store as well. Seemed to also have a seasonal feel. I enjoyed the monte cristo style stuffed French toast which was topped with a blueberry jalapeño compote/ jam. I was skeptical about that jalapeño element but it was so good and really added interest to what could have been a fairly basic dish. I ate every bite. The staff did seem pretty busy, probably short staffed and harried. But it seemed like there was great teamwork and our experience didn't suffer for it. So incredibly disappointing on every level. I am not one to post reviews but my experience was so terrible I had to post. My food was terrible. Bland, cold and incredibly over priced. $19 for a crappy flavorless piece of quiche and cold tasteless hash browns. When I pointed out to the bartender (who might be owner-manager) how disappointed I was she only said I'll talk to my chef. Chef? This is not chef quality food. Brought me a second serving of a cold blob of fake hash browns and thought I'd be happy. Do not go here. I left hungry and annoyed that I wasted $19 of my hard earned money on such a mediocre meal. read more

No idea on correctly pronouncing the name; the welcoming staff didn't tell us and once the food arrived, it did not matter. They grow 'em big in the country as I asked for a shot of whisky for my coffee and the waiter brought me about half a cup. It and the hearty barley beef soup warmed me up. Colleen's Pickled Chicken sandwich is fried (of course!) and yet another addition to the list of astoundingly good SW Michigan fried chicken sandwiches. Fries were also outstanding, crunchy and flavorful. The slaw is light, not saucy like KFC, but not too vinegary as sometimes happens with this type. A great companion to any sandwich or burger. Inhaled the rich, supple but not over-sugared Pumpkin bread pudding before I could get my phone out for a snap. Nice sized, but not ridiculously huge portions. Froelichs (fraylicks? fro-licks?) is a gem within a gem, located in Three Oaks. It's a cute little burg that also houses Journeyman Distillery. It is also worth the 87 mile drive from GR. read more

Visited the new kitchen & pantry ~ husband I were warmly greeted and sat promptly. A lot off trees inside, from sit down dining experience, to walk up sandwich/bagel tripe to-go ordering offered. also a bar-style beverage area with plenty of unique offerings Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices. Stopped at one of our favorite stomping grounds for a light lunch and beers around the three of us. The food was, at best, disappointing as it was definitely not on par with their standards of our past visits. The menu lacked interesting choices. A charcuterie board, for instance, was no longer offered. Wanting to grab something light, we ordered a tuna salad and Irish logs. Neither were remarkable. Think a roadside stand turns out better fare. If only it ended there. We tried a bakery special; cinnamon coffee cake with pecans. It was stale. The staff and management passed it off as dry as it typically would be served with coffee. Even after heating what remained on the plate (we each had cut a portion from it which the hostess did not heat but had not been consumed), it was inedible. The best option would be for the restaurant to remove the dish, offer some sort of regret that the food didn't satisfy the customer and reduce any discord and the bill as quickly as possible. Not so. The management took off $2.50 for a $5 piece of cake (one could ask why it was a daily special), claiming half had been eaten. This was after waiting on someone that could reduce the charge and then expected us to wait longer for upper management to wander out to further reduce the charge. After wasting a good 20 minutes on this debacle, we exited immediately. Just for clarification, the bill had been paid in full with a charge card while we waited for the cake to be warmed. The cake was not deducted. Adding further insult was a "Karen" that kept saying "Wow!! every few seconds towards the end of things. In general, if a patron cannot diffuse a situation, (this "Karen" could not) silence is best. As for Froelich's, one bad experience quells future expectations and patronage. Typically, one upset customer loses 10 whereas a positive experience yields 3 new patrons. All this over $5 and denial that the cake was just not good. It happens. read more

There a lot of word on the street about froelich's on both sides of the argument. Bottom line is the food for me has been consistently decent. Never once has it been bad and frankly my only complaint has been when the entire establishment is overwhelmed with patrons. I've had some very good meals here with friends, great cookies, and fun nick knacks around the huge store. The building was once a pharmacy and its large with tall ceilings giving it a good open feel that can make it loud but keeps it from feeling claustrophobic when it gets so crowded. read more

We were driving back from New Buffalo to Indianapolis and decided to stop for lunch on Labor Day. this place came recommend it from some locals that we had been staying with. I was so impressed when we entered the restaurant. It is a restaurant, deli, small general store and it had all kinds of goodies! We were seated after about 10 minutes, which I didn't think was too bad for a holiday. I got the Monte Cristo Style Stuffed French Toast with the blueberry jalapeño jam. It was excellent! I ate the whole thing, and it was huge. It was salty, spicy, crunchy, sweet, and savory. 10 out of 10 would recommend. My husband got the Pickle Brined Fried Chicken sandwich and he really enjoyed it as well. I didn't try it because I was so stuffed from my meal! We picked up a couple goodies for the road and I was sad I didn't get more after we left. If we head back up to this area I will definitely stop in again. The bartender, Sarena is awesome! She made me the best Bloody Mary served with a yummy pimento cheese sandwich and pickled veggies. We stopped here for lunch. The fruit and nut salad was amazing! I ate it with great gusto. My husband had their special cheeseburger with home-made potato chips. Nothing was left on his plate. Our server was very friendly and checked in on us several times. What a wonderful dining experience. We came here on a recent Saturday evening before a concert at The Acorn. Upon entering I knew we were in for a treat. First there was a gentleman playing piano on the "bar" side. Second, I stood there in awe looking around this wonderful old building. And third, we were seated immediately and our waiter came over quickly to introduce himself and to get our drink order. Everything on the menu sounded wonderful. I opted for one of their specials, Braised Veal Shank with pasta. It was delicious and very filling. The veal was tender and paired nicely with the homemade pasta. D had the Chicken and Peanut Noodle Satay, which he really liked. I took a walk around the pantry area. It is filled with home décor, wine & spirits, jams and condiments, and a sandwich & soup counter where you can also pick up items to go. . If you're looking for a lovely place to brunch on the weekends... this is the place to go!! I really did love it here!! You for sure get the farmhouse feels here, and it's so nice and cozy. There's an adorable gift shop within the restaurant that has so many cute things!! And now to the food... Some great options to choose from, and I got your classic eggs, bacon, and hash browns. The bacon was some of the best bacon I have ever eaten!! SO YUMMY. The hash browns were cooked to perfection, as were the eggs. Literally, the perfect breakfast! A few things to comment on... the Bloody Mary was just "okay" and it was very overpriced for what you get. For $15, I would have expected more of a "snack skewer" and a better tasting drink. I thought it was very weak and almost watery. And then my friend who got a mimosa... she said there was barely any orange juice in it. And then one more thing, when we had brunch, there wasn't any jam flavors left that we liked. The only jam flavors left were rhubarb and some type of bacon jam. So, it would have been nice to have some more jams to choose from. But overall, it was a lovely breakfast experience, and I would totally go back! read more

We decided to sit at the bar as most bartenders tend to be conversational and hospitable...well the young man we had made it clear we had inconvenienced his day by sighing and forcefully taking our orders. I ordered the renowned house burger...definitely nothing to rave about. Disappointing to say the least. The minuscule slice of tomato..which would be better off if it wasn't plated with it because it was ridiculous. But the olive aioli the highlight of the burger was non existent. Also you would think they would take advantage and serve it with a pickle to entice you to buy their canned products..nope you have to ask for a taste and it's the size of a piece of relish. This place surprised me! I mean it's super cute inside and service is great but honestly I thought it would be a little basic. I was so wrong! The ingredients are fresh with tons of different flavors. I had the Waldorf salad which I immediately was blown away! Definitely not bag salad, lots of different greens and fruits with a yummy dressing and I added chicken that was perfect, not fatty or gamey. Potato salad was delish.
