She checked the steelers score game, made a phone call, and worked on other customers nails while working with me. As you can see in the photos my fingers are inflamed and cut up. I showed her a photo of ombre nails with one rose gold marble nail. I have no problem with a manicurist saying they cant do a certain design but she seemed confident about it and this is how it came out! 3 streaks of paint and some glitter. She told me she couldn't do the massage thats usually included cause her fingers hurt but still charged the same price. You can also expect to be rushed out with crooked nails and gunk stuck under your fingernails

Thrilled to have found Letting Go in early March when Lorraine put me on a waiting list and got me in on a Friday when another customer cancelled. Perfect timing, too, because it was just a few days prior to me and my mother putting ourselves on "house arrest" because of the C-Virus scare. Although Lorraine is a "nail artist," I told her I only wanted something similar to what I have been doing a long time; purple base with glitter. I asked her, don't you have samples you can show me from a bottle? She says, "We don't do it that way here. I custom-make your gel colour and glitter to your specifications." I showed her some pix of my nails from the other salon, and she used that as a starting point. Now that I trust her implicitly, I will likely let her come up with her own purple colour and glitter ideas next time. It is nearly a month since I had the work done and only ONE nail is starting to chip so far. I hope I can hold out until my house arrest is over, like another month, by clipping the nails carefully. This is a small intimate salon, not crowded with people since is appointment only. Unlike most other salons, the technicians are not rushing, so plan extra time for this type of quality. Also, be prepared to pay more money here than at an assembly line salon, but it is worth every penny of it. (My last nail shop couldn't even get the colours straight cuz the samples were often in the wrong spot with the wrong number). That can't happen here because there are no samples with numbers! I can't wait to go back for my hands and feet, hopefully by late May!

Would be a ZERO star if possible…read more I'm not particularly big on writing reviews, but here we are. Yesterday, I went in for a spa pedicure and basic manicure. I was asked what color nail polish I wanted for my manicure, and I said, none. I explained that I work with my hands in my shop, and the polish doesn't last (even gel). The technician asked me if I wanted them buffed "really shiny" instead. I said, no thank you. As she was about mid-manicure, she asked again, "Want me to buff shiny for you?" Again, I said no, I just want the regular buffer." I declined this "shiny buffing" because I know the salons charge extra for everything, and I didn't want to pay extra for the shiny buffing. If I wanted my nails shiny, I could've just gotten clear nail polish for free with my service. She and I continued our conversation. She was asking what I did in my shop, etc. Small talk. Well, it came time to buff my nails, and I noticed that after using the regular orange buffer, she grabbed a white one and started going to town on my thumb, and it was becoming very shiny. I stopped her and said, I do not want to pay extra for shiny nails. The regular buffer is good. She told me, "It's ok, this is regular." I said again, clearly, I'm not paying extra for this." She said, "It's ok." Well, YOU GUESSED IT! I went to check out and lo and behold, there was an added $6 charge to my manicure service for ... the buffing service. I explained to the person at the counter that I would not be paying the extra $6 and that I had said NO to that service several times. The person at the counter told me, "Oh, sorry, it's because she doesn't speak English very well." The person at the counter was extremely insistent that I pay the $6 extra. After going back and fourth I made it clear I am not paying for a service that I specifically declined. He eventually gave in and took the $6 off. This is such a bad business practice to impose services on customers who literally declined said service, then try to sneak it into the customer's bill. It made me wonder how many people have they done this to who didn't ask "what the extra fee was for" or didn't know they were secretly being billed. How many people have they taken advantage of like this, or the people who are non-confrontational and won't stand up for themselves, so they just pay it...? It's really disgusting to be honest, and to play the "She doesn't speak English" card was utter NONSENSE!

Today I had my first experience at CL Nails and it was so much more than just good! It really exceeded my expectations. That tells me that she was not just friendly to me because it was my first time, but that she has a regular set of clientele that keeps coming back, and that says alot!
