Talented artist with a horrible attitude Hello Brian. I hope you are having a great day. The purpose of this letter is to notify you that I will no longer be returning to or supporting your establishment. This was a difficult decision to make because I genuinely care about people, especially those with whom I have built rapport. I also hoped that your attitude toward others would change over time. Even against Katy's advice, I continued to frequently support your establishment and listen to the harsh comments you made about other people. I accepted your negative demeanor even when I made simple requests regarding services that I was paying for with my hard-earned money. I also tried to bring you more business by referring friends, including my closest friends. Each time, however, you had something negative to say, and you treated them so poorly that they vowed not to return. The last incident was the final straw. I brought a friend in to have her nails done, and you made her feel so uncomfortable that she later asked me why I would continue spending my money at a place with such subpar customer service. Your Yelp reviews are filled with customers expressing concerns about how rude you are, and every chance I had, I tried to defend you. However, you never extended that same grace or flexibility to me. When I asked you to try something new for me, you refused. During my most recent visit, you told me that you prefer your clients not bring referrals because you do not understand why "Westerners like to do everything together." You also expressed frustration that my friend and I were conversing with one another while getting our nails done. You were upset that my friend wanted to know the cost of services before receiving them, and you even stated that "people should not enter your establishment with expectations." I found that statement, along with many of your other comments and behaviors, to be offensive and dismissive of the very customers you serve. Your attitude is not welcoming, and when concerns about it were brought to your attention, you stated that you did not care. You said that you are "not a try-hard," that people either like it or they do not, and that you do not force anyone to patronize your business. With that understanding of your true perspective, your lack of professionalism, and your inability to provide quality customer service in an industry that depends entirely on customers, referrals, and word of mouth, I have decided to no longer support Fancy Nails and Spa. I will be posting an honest review on Yelp, and I sincerely hope that you find a way to treat people with more kindness and respect. This is especially important considering that you have expressed concerns about declining customer volume and competition from independent nail technicians. I am writing this review after giving them an opportunity to fix this problem and they did not. I had a simple fill and pedicure. Once I got out in the light it looks like I need a fill all over again. I went back in to show the issues and the lady said, "Oh it's ok." So there you are... they can care less about customer satisfaction. The shop is not up to date. It's in a bad location. They do not offer any additional amenities like the other Nail Salons so the quality of their work is the ONLY asset they have. They showed me today that they do not have that. I have referred several people there I will make sure to share my experience today. Also the lady that did my pedicure snipped me twice caused my toe to bleed. read more

The entire staff, Kelly, Julie, and Brian, are all very talented when it comes to the shape, nail direction growth correction, and the artistic design. They are very detail oriented with their art and do not rush the designs. My mom enjoys when I bring her as well, as Maria and Julie are very patient and gentle with her feet. I went in for a gel manicure today. First off I was charged $15 more than I was told at the beginning of my appointment. Second I was cut multiple times during the service. Although I understand that accidents happen, I was bleeding throughout my entire appointment and there is now blood in my manicure; the gel polish is lifting due to the blood residue on my finger. The woman told me I would receive a small discount for the inconvenience, but when I was charged, I got charged extra instead. I explained to the man that I was okay paying full price, but that I was told there would be a small discount. Unfortunately he wasn't the nicest. Will not be returning. read more

I showed the lady a picture of what I wanted and when she started, I pointed out that the color was too dark. She said no it's not, so asked if she could switch to a different color and we tried it on my pinky. I asked if we could do two coats of that one instead, she said no it would be too thick. I didnt really feel like she gave any other choice than to continue. Important to note, she painted over the test pinky with original color. Not too thick? She then proceeded to rush through the designs and only did about half of each nail. She was so pushy I decided to just keep the peace and let her finish so I could go down the street and have someone else redo the polish. The actual acrylics were done nicely, which is a shame because I wont be back. read more

I found this Gem of a place last time I was here on vacation. The man(didn't get his name) remembered me from over a year ago when I was visiting last time! These are some of the best quality nails I have EVER gotten. The atmosphere is awesome, and legitimately some of the best/most creative nails I've ever had. I legit will fly out to get my nails done here for my baby shower/maternity pictures! And one day my wedding lol - that's how great this place is. I've had my nails done many different times and many different places and this place stands out among the rest. Went there today as a walk-in. I wanted to take my daughter as she likes pretty things and I thought it would be a nice thing for her. The guy there seemed annoyed at the start and clearly was by the end. So we left without getting everything I'd planned to do. My kid is 8. She's excited for these types of things, shes gonna ask questions and be interested in what's going on, she's also special needs and has fears and anxiety that are better dealt with by someone with more compassion than your regular customer. I didn't care what they looked like, I just wanted my kid to enjoy the experience. I'm certain they do good work, but stay away if you're anything out of their norm. read more
