The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the coleslaw it didn't taste like a traditional coleslaw and just wasn't for me. My husband ordered the fish and chips and said it was one of the best he's had in a very long time. The service was excellent, and everyone was so accommodating with our 11 month old, which made a big difference. Also, if you like cocktails, order the "I Don't Give a F...ort Myers." You tell the bartender your liquor of choice, and they make you a custom drink. Such a fun concept, and ours turned out great. We'll definitely be back! read more

Had a reservation, yet got put right next to the kitchen/drink station employees come out of constantly! The place was dead when we got there(4:30 reservation). People without reservations (I know this bc I dropped my party off and parked the car and walked in and heard ppl walk up and say they didn't have a reservation) were given a nice table by the window. Pretty annoying to watching the staff all laughing and joking around and not paying attention as we are trying to eat and then waiting around for a box and the bill. Staff should be out in the open more often and checking on their table. Not coming 1x during your whole meal and hiding behind the walls. The Gulf Coast Cioppino is an attempt on Asian flavors, but in a seafood/italian style/vibe. Idk. Lemongrass needed more flavor. If you didn't eat everything all together it seemed like it didn't balance well. Overall it was okay, but I would not order again. The triggerfish sandwich was probably the best food served for the evening. Ahi tuna nachos, tuna was tasty, but was the size of an appetizer in my opinion for $22. Oxbow pork belly - Tasty flavor but a little dried out/over cooked. Needed that coleslaw to help hydrate it. Amazing location and view of the water. Gift shop area as you walk in is a little weird and random. Felt like I was walking through Cracker Barrel to get to the hostess. I Have wanted to try this place for years. Guess I should have read other reviews first on what foods are said to be best. Only thing we would order again would be the fish sandwich. Food and location look beautiful but there's clearly no adults in charge that can act in a professional manner. Sad with such a good location . This must be why they seem to never be very busy. Although I have stayed at the hotel nearby here I don't know how many times, and this restaurant probably features in so many of my photos, I had never considered Oxbow. A mistake on my part. Oxbow is inexpensive, and the food is DELICIOUS! I had the goat cheese cakes as my appetizer when I happened to be in the area on Thanksgiving, and they had a deal on the Thanksgiving plate. It featured all the traditional foods: turkey with brown gravy, sweet potatoes, orange cranberry sauce, dressings, the best tasting green beans I have ever had in my life, and super creamy mashed potatoes. All for $35! The only drawback is they don't let you take this specific meal to go if you eat in the restaurant. No clue why, but I didn't have much left so it didn't bother me much. I went to try out Oxbow Bar & Grill for lunch with a friend. Not much parking nearby. As I walked in, I was immediately in a neat gift shop, and walking through the gift shop led me to the host stand and bar. I was greeted by a friendly hostess. We chose to sit at a table near the windows which was nice to be inside that day for the air-conditioning but I loved the waterfront dining option, and I definitely want to return sometime and dine outside over the water. The interior decor was upscale and neat. Food was delicious and priced fairly. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. My friend ordered one of their fancy cocktails and I got one of their craft beers on tap to drink. We shared an order of their Roasted Garlic Hummus and an order of their Burrata. My husband and I were in the mood for a light lunch and a restaurant on the water. We read the reviews for Oxbow and decided to try it out. The restaurant is part of a hotel across the street. Kind of strange that the restaurant is disconnected from the hotel however, it's definitely a bonus since the outdoor seating for the restaurant is right on the water. The outdoor seating area is somewhat small and narrow, but if you can get a table outside it's so pretty to sit there. Inside is a big room with a bar and more seating for diners. It's somewhat darker in there and there's a gift shop when you first walk in and meet the hostess. We sat down and decided to order a carafe of sangria. It was supposed to serve three people, but we got two generous pours out of it. It was light and slightly fruity, but because we sat outside, the ice melted relatively quickly and it got watered down. For lunch we chose baked oysters, which were amazing!! The lemony creamy flavor to the miso sauce on top was great. The oysters were a little bit on the tough side, however, they were not inedible. My only disappointment was there were only six on the plate and since we were, sharing them, we each only had three. We finished off our light lunch with a piece of Keylime pie that upon being set in front of us smelled so delicious with grated lime rind on top that took my breath away the way it smelled (just like great Keylime pie). It was served beautifully and tasted just as wonderful. Our server Garrett was amazing and so attentive, incredibly polite and professional! There was also two major events happening so their parking lot was blocked off which was very inconvenient since we were visiting from out of town I had no idea. I hat the Cavatappi which actually tasted better the next day lol. The shrimp dish I ordered as an appetizer well...I hate to say, but some of the shrimp weren't cooked thoroughly. Such a turn off! I also had the carrot cake which was mid at best. To be honest whole foods market has a way better tasting carrot cake and trust me I know I just had one for my birthday Anyway, I will probably go back just because I love being downtown and being by the water. Friday 1/26 Great service! Some of the food was hit or miss. We were there with a party of 9. We had cocktails and ordered appetizers of smoked fish, hummus and meatballs. Meatballs were excellent. 10/10. Smoked fish was good about 9/10 and the hummus I did not try but was told it was terrible and there was a lot left so guessing the entire group wasn't a fan. I ordered the Cuban which I would not order again. It's not something I often order so do not have much to compare it to but would definitely look toward something else like maybe the burger.. my coworker ordered it and it looked good although the patty appears very thin.
