I went in July 2018, my second visit to this practice. While my eyes were numb, Dr. Aigner trued to sqeeze (and I could tell, she was going at it hard!) the glands in my eye and told me I had dry eye (Never had any symptoms or problems). She recommended several products, which I bought there. A few days later, my right eye started twitching and my eyelid started drooping involuntary. I went back and saw Dr. Pipkin, told her what was happening and she told me this was normal after an exam. I've never experienced this problem after an exam but chalked it up to aging. Weeks later, my eyelid started to permanently droop. I went to my Kaiser Doc and she said I have Ptosis. It has progressively gotten worse over time and now I need to see an Opthamologist. HORRIBLE! I still dealing with billing issues from a visit in December. FREA was paid by my insurance company in March but did not, for whatever reason, record the payment, and is still billing me with late charges. Ha! My insurance company was nice enough to three-way call them and tell them they had been paid. I also emailed and mailed the EOB from the insurance company with the check number. I have made monthly calls, since December, to get this dealt with. Why am I calling? I have wasted countless minutes trying to work out their issues. As of two weeks ago I was waiting on Dr.Murphy to adjust the bill and was supposed to receive a call back with the new amount to be paid. Surprise....NO CALL. At this point I am done. Additionally, the one visit was sub-par. I didn't even interact with the doctor, some intern came in and explained how to use the medications I was prescribed. Really? And then you have the nerve to bill me for a doctor visit. The one question I did have she was supposed to call me back on, but surprise...no call. Do not waste your time going to this office. I learned my lesson in one, and only one, visit. read more

Let me start by saying that I have been seeing an eye doctor every year for 27 years now. I've switched doctors a few times, and always cringe at trying someone new, with a few recent ones that just weren't right. Front Range Eye Associates has been, by far, my best experience. Mary Anne Murphy was incredibly knowledgeable, giving me answers that my last few doctors have been unable to. They have state of the art equipment, and straight forward advice. I was terrified of getting an eye exam and glasses because I don't like anyone near my eyes. But Mandy, the tech who performed my initial screening was so cheerful and comforting, I had no anxiety until the glaucoma test. Dr. Pipkin performed the main portion of my exam, including the glaucoma test. She put me so much at ease that I am no longer terrified to have the tests done. I had a good experience here. I haven't seen an eye Doctor in several years, so I was a little apprehensive. The tech that did my initial screening was very nice and seemed to enjoy what she was doing. I then saw Dr. Aigner and she was very pleasant as well. She was patient and answered all of my questions and concerns. When it was time for me to look for glasses she noticed the opticians were busy so she pulled my insurance information for me to see what kind of benefits I had and helped me look for what I could afford. Prior to coming to FREA I was a Costco optical girl. I went to FREA after getting vision insurance and because they were close to home, but I would continue to go even without insurance or if it was a long drive. The front desk staff are so helpful, the assistants are great, and the doctors are the best (I have seen 3 of them.) They might be a little more pricey than the discount places, but in this case, you get what you pay for and they are worth it read more

The staff at Front Range were absolutely top-notch! Dr. Mary Anne Murphy was the best experience I've ever had with an eye doctor. I've avoided having my eyes checked for years for fear of what I'd hear, but there was no pressure with the exam. I was in and out and got a plan for new glasses and care for my eyes going forward without getting any hard sell for any procedures. We have been seeing Dr. Murphy since 2007. We have never experienced anything less than stellar care from her and her staff for our entire family. She is extremely knowledgeable and personable, and we have developed a great relationship with her. She is down to earth and explains everything in simple terms so we are sure to understand, and has even sent a follow up email at my request, outlining a diagnoses, it's definition, and follow up needed since it's so easy to go home and forget all the details. Also, we love the optomap in lieu of having our eyes dilated - much easier and much more comprehensive too. She has been examining both my kids' eyes since they were very young. Even before they could complete the normal eye tests, her staff had other ways of testing them through games/puzzles, which I had never heard of before. Her staff is all very nice and great with kids. Their thoroughness puts the typical pediatrician office "eye exam" to shame. She once saw my husband for an emergency over the weekend when he got insulation in one of his eyes. She did not hesitate to meet him immediately at her office to help him out. After my son got pink eye the week before Christmas last year, I took him in and Dr. Murphy prescribed drops for him. Knowing my daughter was bound to get it next and that Christmas was coming, Dr. Murphy left a note in her file so my daughter would not have to be seen in order to get a prescription filled. When my daughter did get pink eye on Christmas Eve, when the office was already closed, the on call doctor called in a prescription, no questions asked, making it possible to get it filled before the pharmacy closed that day. Ordered sunglasses. They said they would have them for me in about a week and would call when they came in. Week came and went I assumed they had a supply problem and would call when it was ready. Waited a few weeks before I called in to ask what the issue was. They said they had received them in shortly after I had ordered them but didn't call. I asked them why and they said it was my fault I wasn't notified as I had asked for no email notices. Wrote them a letter expressing how I was unhappy with the situation and they ignored it. It's a shame as they do have good service in the doctor's side of the office, but the front of house is a problem and soured me on the practice as a whole. read more

I was very excited when I got new Tiffany Sunglasses for Christmas this year. On January 23rd I had my yearly eye exam and gave Amy my Sunglasses to be sent away and replace the lenses with Prescription lenses. They told me it would be two weeks, after 3 weeks I realized I had no received them and on the same day Amy called. She called to tell me that the lab that they were sent to had lost my frames, but they were working on replacing it. By this point we were at February 23rd and there was no sign of frames. They told me they could not find them and offered to buy them off of Ebay. I said no that I would like to make sure they are purchased new and that they are the same frames. We are now at March 23rd, 2 months after my original appointment and they told me that they had found another optometrist that had the glasses and they were going to be shipped and arrive this past Monday (April 1st). They were going to replace the lenses at the office and I would have them Tuesday. I called today to find out the Optometrist that was supposed to have shipped them couldn't due to other circumstances. Although the original issue was not Front Range Eye Associates fault, they have not been very helpful. If I do not call to follow up, nothing moves forward. I saved a lot to get these glasses that have been my dream forever and at this point I would just like the money to be able to go buy new lenses. read more

My family and I have been with Front Range Eye Associates for a few years now and this was my second visit in 2 weeks. I had to go back in to have my eyes dilated because I wasn't able to the week before. For the second time I was left waiting around wondering if I'd been forgotten. The first visit it was almost 25 minutes after the tech finished before the doctor came in to finish the exam so I was paying close attention to the time it would take this visit. I had a 3:30PM appointment that I arrived at 3:15PM for. I was called back at 3:41PM. The tech had the eye drops in my eyes and left the room at 3:44PM. At 4:03PM another tech came into the room and asked if I would mind switching exam rooms, which I said would be fine. I asked if she knew how long the doctor would be because I was told the appointment would only be about 30 minutes and that I needed to pick up my daughter by 4:30. She said it would only be another "5 or so minutes." At 4:08 another tech came in to ask if I'd like the lights turned down and I asked again how long the doctor would be and she said maybe 5 more minutes. At 4:20 I left the room and went to the front desk and told them that I had been dilated over 30 minutes ago and still hadn't seen the doctor. They led me back to my exam room and left to get the doctor. The doctor finally came in to do the exam at 4:26PM. She was apologetic and took full blame, although she said that she thought it was a full exam and not just a dilation. So if you need a full exam I guess you can expect to wait 40 plus minutes before you see the doctor? I still give 2 stars because the tech staff have always been great, the facilities are nice and this is the first time I've had a problem in all of my visits, but I was late picking up my daughter and I was told they only needed 30 minutes for this appointment. I was told many times the doctor would be with me in 5 minutes. If you are overbooked or running that far behind, please just give me the option to reschedule. If I do decide to go back again, I will give myself plenty of time, but at this time, I can no longer recommend them. read more

This is a very unfortunate situation--excellent doctors/techs. Terrible, terrible, front desk/customer service. The doctors are knowledgeable, patient, and fantastic. In fact, I left my first appointment seeing better than I have in years. (This included several follow ups to ensure everything was ok and working well). Front desk staff misses call backs, is rude, unable to properly process insurance, and just all around a big disappointment. read more

I have been going to Front Range Eye Assoc for many years and have referred several others as well. Dr Perez and Dr Murphy are great and have been good with my daughters over the years. Unfortunately I am tired being on time and they are late. I waited 20 minutes past my appointment time and could not stay for my appointment do to another appointment. Several weeks before my daughter also waited about 15 past her appointment. If I make an appointment for a specific time I would expect to be seen seen close to that time. I understand a running a little late but as a paying customer there should be common courtesy to find out if I can stay and 20 minutes is past a little late. I looked at frames as I waited and the two people in that area never asked if they could help and nobody else was in the area. I guess they only help people on the list but it just seemed rude. When I mentioned to a co-worker the appointments there take 45-60 minutes she was shocked, she said her eye visit are about 30 minutes. I'd like to think the longer time at FREA is for thoroughness but now I am not sure. If you have the time to wait for lateness and time for a long appointment this is the place for you. Dr GUnderson was not a people person nor did he detect an infection that caused a 4 month ongoing problem. Dr Murphy tried but failed to stay in touch and follow up even with my persistance. Found them uncaring and unprofessional. One visit to another eye docter-3D vision- and bingo they got me on the mend. they followed up and really cared. I would NOT EVER GO HERE AGAIN. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE BAD DOCTORS WHEN THEY WERE NEEDED. Anyone can do a basic eye exam. read more

I have been a patient there for the last few years now. I have had very good results with the exams and such. I last saw Dr Perez and she is the best. Very friendly and thorough. Not pushy at all. The optician Amy has been great to work with too. However, as one of the other reviews stated, the service I have received has been great, however the customer/admin support has gone downhill the last couple years. I had some minor issues last year, and they were minor, so wasn't worth making a big deal about. This year, has been different. First of all my daughter scheduled via the online method they are pushing. Then right before what she thought was scheduled, she was told that appointment is no longer available so they gave her the next available....which was another week + out. That ran into the eve of us moving her out of state to college. She ended up ordering some contacts with an updated prescription and was given some to try and hold her over until it was confirmed these would work for her. She had exchanged some emails and provided her school mailing address and was told we were even eligible for a rebate. So I called to place the order. They never sent me a receipt, but I assumed they took care of it. I waited a bit and finally called and asked about the status and the rebate info. They told me they would just go ahead and send it to me...COOL! However the person(s) that would be able to provide status on the contacts was with patients, but they would call me back as soon as they were able. No call back that day. No call back the next day, so I called again, and was told the same thing. I even emailed as well....thinking someone could email me status as an option as well. No response. I called back a week later now, and they still didn't have status, and gave me some goofy answers to the rebate forms issues. Well I did finally get the forms and looking at what I needed to submit I found I could not do anything as I needed info of the boxes of contacts.....oh and still no contacts and no calls. Well then Sat afternoon I go get my mail and there is a box in there.....HEY I have contacts!!! The problem is....now they are in the wrong state. I knew it was late in the day, so I run down to the post office....closed. Went to a UPS store....closed. So now I have to wait to mail them out on Monday!! So I did finally get them and they should finally get to my daughter. I suspect they were never ordered, so it was a scramble to order them and in their haste just sent them to the address on the account and NOT the address they discussed all this in the email, which is probably why I never got a return status call!! Very sad and disappointed, as I have been happy with all the other services there. But fighting things like this the 2nd year in a row is frustrating. read more

I've had many different optometrists in my life, but these folks are definitely the best. The doctors provide a very thorough exam and genuinely seem to care about not only your eye health, but also your overall health and well being. I love that I don't need to get my eyes dilated and instead can opt for this wonderful machine that takes a picture of the inside of my eye. They take VSP which is great for us. They don't have the largest selection of eyeglasses, but we've always been able to find some we like. They also do a fabulous job fitting contact lenses. My family uses Dr. Shira Pitkin, but we had an emergency visit with one of the other doctors and she was just as fabulous. We've never had to wait more than a few minutes to be seen by the doctor. Have waited about 10 minutes to pick out glasses at times since they really want to make sure you are happy. I can wait for good customer service. read more
