Chicago to Houston flight, terrible, terrible wheelchair service in Chicago. We arrived at 3:30 am for a flight leaving at 5:20 am. Everything was going well. An agent helped us with our luggage because there is a weight limit of 40 pounds not 50 like other airlines. I was bringing back luggage I had intended to keep in Chicago but things changed. She helped us with tagging and getting us through the process through our phone to avoid the $25 agent fee. When it came time for my friend to get a wheelchair, we waited an hour and were told to get walking because we would miss our flight. My friend is 73 years old with spinal stenosis. We had to rush to get through security which took forever for her since she wasn't in a wheelchair and I have TSA pre check. She told me she was almost in tears because she didn't know where I was. Needless to say we barely made it to the gate on the other side of the airport where everyone had already started to board. As far as flying everything was great and we got in to Houston early. I would give 5 stars but because of the wheelchair fiasco I won't. read more

I arrived at frontier airline back drop counter exactly at 4:41 AM. My flight was to leave at 5:45 AM. Due to the line at the self service kiosk. I was unable to print my bag tag at 4:46 AM. Despite explaining that I was waiting in line since 4:41 AM, The agent refused to accept my bag and offered no accommodation. They told me I had to purchase new flight and I was forced to pay $84 more because of the flight change. They didn't refund me for the seats I purchased in the original flight. This airline is full of crooks! And I will never fly with this airline again. They charge way too much money to lack customer service and offer no accommodations to their customers. I want all of my money back. This airline doesn't deserve a penny from anyone. I hope they shut down just like spirit airlines. read more

I often fly Frontier. For Thanksgiving we landed without issue but when we went to baggage claim, we had to wait over two hours. (landed at 8:45pm) left the airport just before midnight after waiting at the carousel without communication of why the delay was taking place. the rain was blamed yet no other airline baggage claim was impacted and the frontier baggage claim in Atlanta was surrounded by the passengers from all of their flights. it was clearly a frontier issue. I finally got my bag, drove our long drive home (2hr 30mins) and promptly reached out via what's app. For $100 for a bag, that service was not acceptable. I reached out to see if we could get something back for our greatly delayed experience that lacked communication. I found their customer service to be deeply unserious, and dodging all accountability. I heard excuse after excuse from both baseline and supervisors. Was first told my delay was an airport issue and to reach out to them. which was decidedly ridiculous and the airport said the obvious that this was an issue directly with the airline. then was told because I didn't make a claim within four hours of landing I had no claim. I spent three hours in the airport waiting for the bag! and then had to drive home to greet my family. So they put the blame on me for not reaching out in their arbitrary time. They have no legitimate customer service. truly. They dodge all accountability for a poor service. And we didn't even save on our flight in any budget friendly way. I went in knowing it was a discount airline but plane was nice and daily modern, A320 with great seats and it was half full. $120 total round trip IAH to RDU and that included priority boarding and I paid for a nicer seat... if not I could of got for $90 Will fly frontier again for sure.. read more

Never travel with Frontier Airlines. (Long post) On November 23, 2025 I had the worst travel experience I have ever had in my entire life. My family and I booked a trip home for the Thanksgiving holiday. This is the first Thanksgiving we'd be going home to Denver in 4 years. We arrived at the airport at 5am for my 6:45am flight. We spent 25+ minutes in line to be helped by a ticket agent because all the kiosks were down (we are charged $25 for agent assistance by the way). Weighed our luggage personally and confirmed it was 40.02 lbs. Once the agent weighed it, they said the luggage was 53 lbs and charged us $125 for the overage fee. While making our way through TSA another 45 minutes (traveling with 3 children ages 14, 6 and 3 which will be important later), I got a text that our gate changed and instead of terminal A, we would be departing out of terminal D which is about a 10 minute train ride away. After catering up my kids and running to the train, we got to the gate at exactly 6:25am. While running with the stroller, I watched the gate agent close the doors as boarding ended at 6:25am (exactly 20 minutes before the flight). I asked if she could please let us on to which she responded "I am actually too busy, I can't help you. I need to work another flight so you need to return to the ticket counter to be rebooked." and walked away. I make my way back on the train back to terminal A, outside and back to the ticket counter. The ticket agent let me know the next flight to Dever would be the next day 11/24, or we could catch a flight from Houston to Phoenix at 12:13pm, have a 2 hour layover then fly from Phoenix to Denver arriving. Reluctantly I agreed because I did not want to spend 24 hours in the airport with 3 children. After going back through TSA for the 2nd time, and getting back to D terminal I looked at the flight information and they had all 5 of us sitting in separate seats. Because my youngest children are 3 and 6, they absolutely cannot sit separately. I called customer service and talked to different representatives for about 3 hours who eventually told me there was a non-stop direct flight to Denver, leaving at 11:48am and there were plenty of seats so we would absolutely be able to sit together. They processed the change however I wasn't able to access the boarding passes. The gate agent told me they couldn't help me, that I need to go back to the ticket counter again. I got back on the train, went back to the ticket counter again and the agent confirmed the flight was changed but we had no seats. And if I wanted to change it again, I would have to pay $1400 for the flight difference. They eventually gave me boarding passes, and sent me back through TSA for the 3rd time. We had 11 minutes to get to the gate before the door closed again! Thank goodness the flight was delayed by 30 minutes which gave us time. I called Frontier today and spoke with Aman Kothiyal who let me know the most he could do was offer a $75 voucher for a future flight booked within 90 days. Imagine being charged extra, being told I am too busy, I can't help you, navigating through TSA 3 times with 3 children just to be offered a $75 voucher for a future flight... This was one of the worst airline experiences I've ever had. My luggage was lost, and the staff were dismissive and rude throughout the process, refusing any form of compensation. On our return flight, the crew was openly rude to multiple passengers, even after several extended layovers and delays. When we finally arrived home and went to retrieve our bags, my friend's hard-case suitcase came out severely damaged--cracked to the point that it looked as if it had been used as a landing brake. A friend told me about the good fares on Frontier Airlines and I was inclined to think so myself, BUT when you add up baggage fees and other incidentals then you might come out better flying with other airlines. I was not pleased at first with having to do any kind of transaction through their app, especially being my first time with this airlines. Trying to get in touch with an actual agent if you have a question is infuriating to say the least. After my travel, I reflected on the experience and came to the realization that you get what you pay for with their business model. For this particular travel it was more on the PRO side because I did not have to fight traffic going from and to LAX instead landing in Ontario (ONT) put me closer to my destination. First of all, the customer service is horrible. My wife and I had our flight cancelled and we had to wait for three hours for our voucher. After that the next morning we got a 5.15am flight first flight was fine and than disaster struck again. We got to get our seats which we had rebooked from Frontier in which we had seats we choose to sit together and they changed our sit with no notification and than started to get angry with us when we asked a question and after that basically said he can kick me off flight. I stayed silent from that point on. He than pursued to challenge me with a glare when the doors were closing hoping i would respond I didn't and had a very uncomfortable flight in a middle seat in which is why I originally got a isle seat. It's not as bad as I was anticipating. As long as you pay for bags in advance, get the app, check in like you're supposed to, everything is smooth sailing. My gripe is that it was delayed and they did not update the gates in the app. I didn't know until we read the board that it changed. The seats are extremely uncomfortable. Even for a 3 hour ride, it was not the best. All in all, if you have a free day in between your arrival dates, feel free to book. This was the worst flying experience I've ever had, and my family had made it a rule to never fly Frontier ever again. Our first 10:35pm flight was delayed by over 3 hours before finally being cancelled at 1 in the morning. They never gave us a hotel voucher (said it would arrive to my email in 45 minutes but never came) and rebooked us only within Frontier flights to a flight the next night also at 10:35, which they cancelled with no warning or explanation at 10:30 that night. The website to talk to an agent or refund our flight was magically not working. By the time we calculated the cost of the hotel stays, Ubers, extra meals, missed time at home, and the flight on a different airline we finally had to book so we could get home, we could have just flown first class on a different airline. I was double charged for a carryon bag and when I called customer service they did nothing but stand up for the fraudulent gate agent at ORD airport. I will NEVER fly Frontier even if they are giving free rides out of an apocalypse. They are something else. The area by the gate in Houston's Bush Airport was very unkept. The prices for tickets are low and you have to pay for everything and in my case they scam you for the same bag on the same flight and then wash their hands on helping you. On my return flight from Philadelphia to Houston was horrible. I tried to check in on my phone and I couldn't. So when I got to the airport, I went to the luggage check in. A black man kept yelling check in on your phone I told him I couldn't. Finally a black lady the manager helped me. Come to find out the airline had sold my return flight seat. That was the worst airline experience I have ever had. Been flying for over 40 years. They made up some weird and very vague reason why we had to get off the plane and then reboard. Over 3 hours late to Colorado. Agents in Colorado were horrible and didn't act liked they cared at all. Not their problem! I got stuck in Colorado for 11 hours or so, freezing in that airport and no help from anyone. They then sent me to Vegas, made me pay for motel 6 (expensive in Vegas I guess) and left me to figure everything out on my own. Between that and Lyft rides back and forth from the motel, I am now broke because of the extra expenses. Never will use them again. Not worth it. And there is more I can say about them on this trip. I will start off by saying I should've known better. I knew what I was getting into. I am a Southwest Airline loyalist through and through and I guess this is what I got for cheating on my airline. My friends and I decided on a whim to do a quick trip to Denver. They googled flights and lo and behold, Frontier had amazing prices for roundtrip. Without doing my own research or even checking Southwest, I booked so we could all fly together. I know Frontier is a budget airline, but did not realize how much they rely on nickel and diming their customers to make up for the low ticket prices. To get the actual low fare, you basically need to come on their with the clothes on your back and small personal items like a purse or tiny backpack. My toxic trait is I like to over pack because you just never know what you're going to get into on vacation. I like options! So I forked over some cash so I could bring a checked bag. This alone cost more than the flight. At the gate, all the announcement were more ways to upsell with subtle threats to not let you board if your carry on is too big. Oh, and they do check. Luckily my friends and I checked in around the same time 24 hours prior so we were seated next to each other. When we walked on, we were amazed at how they stacked seats right up on each other. Skinny or fat, there is no room for movement! We squeezed on in and really got to know each other. For my flight back, I forked over more cash so I can get a row to myself as I knew I wanted to sleep comfortably. All the exit rows were completely empty and people asked if they could take them once everyone was seated. The staff refused and wanted even more than the online prices to make that happen. In case of emergency, no one was going to help I guess. During the flight, even more announcements were made about what else they could upsell us on. Not to mention, you only get a cup of ice water for free, everything else had to be purchased. Would I fly Frontier again? Abso-freakin-lutely not! The customer service and website needs a seri overhaul. I have been trying to speak to someone on the phone about my reservation since Friday morning. Was on hold for over 2 hours with the estimated wait time steadily increasing. Finally I requested a callback at 12:54pm (wait was quoted to be 35 minutes). I received the callback at 2:10 AM. A. M. naturally I missed that call, phone rang 2x so although it woke me, I was too late. Here it is Monday and I have currently been on hold for 3hours and 54 minutes with an estimated wait time of 192 minutes. The time quoted when I called at 10:32am was 20 minutes. I tried to chat but the AI/chatbot was unhelpful. I even tried to complain via their social media platform but not surprisingly, my comments would not post. I attempted to resolve my issue on their site but that only led to more confusion and frustration. Here's the issue: I purchased tickets through Expedia from MDW to IAH, received confirmation from both Expedia and Frontier, created a login for Frontier so that I could select a seat since the option did not pop up during booking. This is where things got frustrating. Before I could select a seat, it asked that I update information (last name, contact, zip code which was prepopulated and incorrect). I got an error message about the information being entered and then I got an email that the booking was cancelled. The site still showed my reservation with the confirmation so that is what prompted me to contact custOmer service and to trou bleshoot why I was getting the error and to get help with selecting my seat. while on hold in the phone, the site kept logging me out causing me to have to log in again where I was prompted to update information and continued to get an error message. after the 3rd or 4th time logging in, I see a $75 name change fee that is due where before the amount due was $0. I did not request a name change at all. I looked at the screenshots I took and the only difference was my name was in all caps initially but now it was the 1st letters in my 1st and last name. This could have been the many times I entered my information, I typed it out instead of using autofill which is the only thing I can think of but that should not be a name change. So the questions and frustration is building because this fee would appear and disappear if I logged in on a new tab. So sometimes I would see the fee and sometimes it wouldn't be there. This morning when I logged in on a desktop, which is what I used Friday, and went to my trips/manage trips and entered my last name and confirmation, it kept bringing me back to the same page, as if nothing was entered. I accessed flyfrontier.com from my phone and was able to successfully go to my trip and it also allowed me to select a seat and did not show the $75 name change fee so it appears that everything should be good to go however, based on the inconsistencies since booking on Friday, I am still on hold at 2:43pm after being on hold for 4 hours and 18 minutes, estimated hold time is now 254 minutes. Oh, where to begin??? My husband and I were electronically paying for our baggage the day before our departure. We were in so much denial over the cost of checked and carry on luggage that we thought there was no way this could be true, so we waited until we were at the airport to deal with it. The people working at the Frontier counter barely acknowledged our existence and just asked if our bags were paid for. When we said no they said to go to the kiosk. I asked if they could help us and the lady rudely said we are trying to save you money. What?! It's more expensive if we pay at the counter? I then said at this point for what we are paying in luggage costs we could purchase another seat and have it ride home next to us. This is absolutely no exaggeration. The man behind the counter started laughing, and I said you're are laughing because you know it's true. I truly don't understand the benefit of Frontier Airlines. There is no customer service, they charge an arm and a leg for everything, even down to a cup of coffee. The tickets were the same price as American Airlines, and there were no extra fees with them. You think it's a good deal until you go through inconvenience. Flight 4426 delayed 4 hrs and 14 mins due to weather issues: de-icing plane and ramp. From Houston, Texas on a 47 degree Sunny weather to Orlando, FL 56 degrees sunny weather. Boarded and deplaned us 3 times. Very disorganized. Kept passengers hanging. I bought my husband the go wild pass about a month ago. They advertised it was good through May of 2027 and you can start using it right away. We have tried several times to book one flight over the last month since purchasing the pass. It will not give him the option to even choose go wile pass to fly. We got it to work one time and then the browser refreshed and would not allow us to pick the go wild pass again. Tried chatting with the airline and cannot get a real person. We called and there was a 96 minute wait time. Waited on the phone for 30 minutes and then the wait time started going back up again. Would not allow us to choose the option to have them call us back. We pushed 1 to leave our number and wait for a call back and it just ignored it and kept us holding. We are using the browser to book flights as that what the website says to do. The whole thing was a complete waste of money. Cant get through to anyone to even get help or answers. The tech for this airline is trash. Complete trash and makes you wonder if they cant get their website together and customer service, should we really be trusting them to get onto one of their planes. Will never do this again. My mothers flight got delayed, she left her phone in my vehicle when I dropped her off, I asked the agent (horrible attitude) if there is anyway to get the phone to her, she said no we're running short handed, there were currently 2 agents behind the desks, I said ok I understand, even though she could have easily contacted the gate and they could have called my mother up to notify her and she could have met me at security checkpoint, but that would be to much effort from her. But it gets better, 5 min later I'm standing by the ticket desk trying to figure this out and there are 5 frontier agents now, laughing and giggling about, nobody in line and the lady still looks at me standing there. If I could leave them no stars I would. This experience has been terrible. Our flight was cancelled after being delayed for 2.5 hours and the boarding agent advised us that the flight was overbooked by 10 seats due to flights being booked outside of the airline through sites such as Expedia, Priceline, etc. After the delayed cancellation we were told the next flight available would be two days after our original flight date. The only options were to rebook or be refunded for the tickets. Not to mention our baggage fees were $304.00. Immediately a $100 travel voucher was provided for a flight to be booked in 90 days or it will expire. Who in their right mind would travel with them again and why is there a timeframe onto when I can rebook at a discounted not free rate for their mess up. Because here it is 14 hours after the cancellation and there has been no hotel voucher provider. The front desk agents informed us one would be provided by email however it may take up to 10 hours or more to receive. Try contacting the customer relations team and you can't speak to anyone unless your flying in 24 hours and being they rescheduled us 48 hours out there wasn't a sense of urgency to speak with me and an automated message request my callback number for a callback number in 24 hours. The reservation line advised the front desk should have provided the hotel stay vouchers and there was nothing they could do but submit an escalation ticket to be reviewed. Let's not mention the awful customer service from the ticket counter workers and supervisor who had little to no interest in the inconvenience their airline has caused not only me but the 100 people on the flight. There was no shame, no empathy, no compassion from individuals who are paid to do a job they choose and got to go home to their families and everyday lives after there shift was over. I'm totally disgusted with them and if I had the power or authority this whole airline would be closed until they learned and were taught to accommodate disruptions in people's lives and a system that is readily prepared to remediate their flawed system! read more

I do not normally do reviews, however this one HAD to be done. The gate agents at George Bush Airport in Houston Texas were highly unprofessional! Tracy or Tammy (I believe that was her name) was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional! A paying customer ahead of me in line had asked for her name and she stated "I do not have to give that to you" in my experience if you know you are doing everything correctly you would be happy to give your name. She was rude to everyone around me and seems to absolutely hate her job... she should definitely be audited because Frontier should see who is representing their business. Bradley was semi helpful when he was not around his peers but other than that he had the same nonchalant attitude. Jennifer the supervisor absolutely TRIED her best but she still could use a ton of training!!! I do have a bit of sympathy for her because of the staff members she has to supervise on a day to day basis. I know it can't be an easy job for her. The staff needs to understand that not everyone flys on a consistent basis if at all and could definitely use a lesson on how to be helpful and not straight up jerks to people who are just trying to get home/ or to a destination. We are paying for a service, and at the very least deserve to be treated like human beings. Overall my experience was chaotic, confusing and very unprofessional. Highly recommend someone audit this staff immediately!!! I'm 1000% sure I'm not the only one who will be saying how rude and unprofessional and disrespectful they are. read more

The airfare are cheap and yet you get less than you paid for flying with Frontier. Coming into Houston August 26, 2024, was an absolute horror story. The ghetto-fabulous frontier representatives at the gate deliberately provided inaccurate information for about 20 of us passengers who arrived on a late night flight. I know this was deliberate because I saw the 3 hood rats walking through the tunnels as they were exiting the airport to leave their shift. I asked them why did the provide inaccurate information to passengers and the laughed walked past us! I am here this morning to check in for an 11am flight, as I need to check 1 bag.
