That was the worst airline experience I have ever had. Been flying for over 40 years. They made up some weird and very vague reason why we had to get off the plane and then reboard. Over 3 hours late to Colorado. Agents in Colorado were horrible and didn't act liked they cared at all. Not their problem! I got stuck in Colorado for 11 hours or so, freezing in that airport and no help from anyone. They then sent me to Vegas, made me pay for motel 6 (expensive in Vegas I guess) and left me to figure everything out on my own. Between that and Lyft rides back and forth from the motel, I am now broke because of the extra expenses. Never will use them again. Not worth it. And there is more I can say about them on this trip. The customer service and website needs a seri overhaul. I have been trying to speak to someone on the phone about my reservation since Friday morning. Was on hold for over 2 hours with the estimated wait time steadily increasing. Finally I requested a callback at 12:54pm (wait was quoted to be 35 minutes). I received the callback at 2:10 AM. A. M. naturally I missed that call, phone rang 2x so although it woke me, I was too late. Here it is Monday and I have currently been on hold for 3hours and 54 minutes with an estimated wait time of 192 minutes. The time quoted when I called at 10:32am was 20 minutes. I tried to chat but the AI/chatbot was unhelpful. I even tried to complain via their social media platform but not surprisingly, my comments would not post. I attempted to resolve my issue on their site but that only led to more confusion and frustration. Here's the issue: I purchased tickets through Expedia from MDW to IAH, received confirmation from both Expedia and Frontier, created a login for Frontier so that I could select a seat since the option did not pop up during booking. This is where things got frustrating. Before I could select a seat, it asked that I update information (last name, contact, zip code which was prepopulated and incorrect). I got an error message about the information being entered and then I got an email that the booking was cancelled. The site still showed my reservation with the confirmation so that is what prompted me to contact custOmer service and to trou bleshoot why I was getting the error and to get help with selecting my seat. while on hold in the phone, the site kept logging me out causing me to have to log in again where I was prompted to update information and continued to get an error message. after the 3rd or 4th time logging in, I see a $75 name change fee that is due where before the amount due was $0. I did not request a name change at all. I looked at the screenshots I took and the only difference was my name was in all caps initially but now it was the 1st letters in my 1st and last name. This could have been the many times I entered my information, I typed it out instead of using autofill which is the only thing I can think of but that should not be a name change. So the questions and frustration is building because this fee would appear and disappear if I logged in on a new tab. So sometimes I would see the fee and sometimes it wouldn't be there. This morning when I logged in on a desktop, which is what I used Friday, and went to my trips/manage trips and entered my last name and confirmation, it kept bringing me back to the same page, as if nothing was entered. I accessed flyfrontier.com from my phone and was able to successfully go to my trip and it also allowed me to select a seat and did not show the $75 name change fee so it appears that everything should be good to go however, based on the inconsistencies since booking on Friday, I am still on hold at 2:43pm after being on hold for 4 hours and 18 minutes, estimated hold time is now 254 minutes. Oh, where to begin??? My husband and I were electronically paying for our baggage the day before our departure. We were in so much denial over the cost of checked and carry on luggage that we thought there was no way this could be true, so we waited until we were at the airport to deal with it. The people working at the Frontier counter barely acknowledged our existence and just asked if our bags were paid for. When we said no they said to go to the kiosk. I asked if they could help us and the lady rudely said we are trying to save you money. What?! It's more expensive if we pay at the counter? I then said at this point for what we are paying in luggage costs we could purchase another seat and have it ride home next to us. This is absolutely no exaggeration. The man behind the counter started laughing, and I said you're are laughing because you know it's true. I truly don't understand the benefit of Frontier Airlines. I bought my husband the go wild pass about a month ago. They advertised it was good through May of 2027 and you can start using it right away. We have tried several times to book one flight over the last month since purchasing the pass. It will not give him the option to even choose go wile pass to fly. We got it to work one time and then the browser refreshed and would not allow us to pick the go wild pass again. Tried chatting with the airline and cannot get a real person. We called and there was a 96 minute wait time. Waited on the phone for 30 minutes and then the wait time started going back up again. Would not allow us to choose the option to have them call us back. We pushed 1 to leave our number and wait for a call back and it just ignored it and kept us holding. We are using the browser to book flights as that what the website says to do. The whole thing was a complete waste of money. Cant get through to anyone to even get help or answers. The tech for this airline is trash. My mothers flight got delayed, she left her phone in my vehicle when I dropped her off, I asked the agent (horrible attitude) if there is anyway to get the phone to her, she said no we're running short handed, there were currently 2 agents behind the desks, I said ok I understand, even though she could have easily contacted the gate and they could have called my mother up to notify her and she could have met me at security checkpoint, but that would be to much effort from her. But it gets better, 5 min later I'm standing by the ticket desk trying to figure this out and there are 5 frontier agents now, laughing and giggling about, nobody in line and the lady still looks at me standing there. If I could leave them no stars I would. This experience has been terrible. Our flight was cancelled after being delayed for 2.5 hours and the boarding agent advised us that the flight was overbooked by 10 seats due to flights being booked outside of the airline through sites such as Expedia, Priceline, etc. After the delayed cancellation we were told the next flight available would be two days after our original flight date. The only options were to rebook or be refunded for the tickets. Not to mention our baggage fees were $304.00. Immediately a $100 travel voucher was provided for a flight to be booked in 90 days or it will expire. Who in their right mind would travel with them again and why is there a timeframe onto when I can rebook at a discounted not free rate for their mess up. Because here it is 14 hours after the cancellation and there has been no hotel voucher provider. The front desk agents informed us one would be provided by email however it may take up to 10 hours or more to receive. Try contacting the customer relations team and you can't speak to anyone unless your flying in 24 hours and being they rescheduled us 48 hours out there wasn't a sense of urgency to speak with me and an automated message request my callback number for a callback number in 24 hours. The reservation line advised the front desk should have provided the hotel stay vouchers and there was nothing they could do but submit an escalation ticket to be reviewed. Let's not mention the awful customer service from the ticket counter workers and supervisor who had little to no interest in the inconvenience their airline has caused not only me but the 100 people on the flight. There was no shame, no empathy, no compassion from individuals who are paid to do a job they choose and got to go home to their families and everyday lives after there shift was over. Frontier Fiasco: From Fan to Frustrated Flyer Frontier Airlines was my champion. I downloaded their app, and attended meet-and-greets - I was their biggest cheerleader, defending them against naysayers. But on 6/13/24, that all changed. My Charlotte to Atlanta flight, with a confusing (but tolerable) Houston layover, seemed like a steal. I even splurged on the "bigger" seats in the front. Spoiler alert: they were just regular seats with a tacky sign blocking the middle spot. But hey, I got a great deal! I checked in on the app the night before. At the Charlotte airport, a slight delay - nothing major. Landing in Houston, I opened the app to find my connecting flight's gate. But... my 2nd boarding pass was not there! It was already a short layover and with the delay it was imperative I get to my next gate quickly. Panic rising, I made it to the gate and they were already boarding all zones I raced to the gate agent, explained my app issue, and the connecting flight situation. The response? A curt dismissal. "You didn't check in. go over there and wait and see if there's a seat." How is this possible I just landed from a connected flight, one confirmation number But logic fell on deaf ears. Tears pricked my eyes as the agent, radiating rudeness, challenged me, "Show me your boarding pass then!" I was distraught - I was stuck, frustrated. After everyone else boarded, they called us (myself and another young lady waiting for a seat) back. But the nightmare wasn't over. Apparently, in Spanish (because she clearly thought I wouldn't understand), the rude agent declared, "Seen it all! Don't care if she cries, I've been here 14 years." Lovely. Then came the kicker: a $25 fee for "using agent assistance" to get checked in; Frontier's fees are legendary, but this was a new low. I made the flight (to my very uncomfortable, middle seat - passing right by someone in the seat I paid for). But Frontier lost more than a customer today. They lost an advocate. I work hard for my money, and I won't be paying to be disrespected and fly in discomfort. This experience wasn't just a delay or a bad seat. It was a masterclass in airline apathy. I do not normally do reviews, however this one HAD to be done. The gate agents at George Bush Airport in Houston Texas were highly unprofessional! Tracy or Tammy (I believe that was her name) was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional! A paying customer ahead of me in line had asked for her name and she stated "I do not have to give that to you" in my experience if you know you are doing everything correctly you would be happy to give your name. She was rude to everyone around me and seems to absolutely hate her job... she should definitely be audited because Frontier should see who is representing their business. Bradley was semi helpful when he was not around his peers but other than that he had the same nonchalant attitude. Jennifer the supervisor absolutely TRIED her best but she still could use a ton of training!!! I do have a bit of sympathy for her because of the staff members she has to supervise on a day to day basis. I know it can't be an easy job for her. The staff needs to understand that not everyone flys on a consistent basis if at all and could definitely use a lesson on how to be helpful and not straight up jerks to people who are just trying to get home/ or to a destination. We are paying for a service, and at the very least deserve to be treated like human beings. Overall my experience was chaotic, confusing and very unprofessional. They won't let me deduct stars, otherwise this rating would be lower. Priceline/Booking.com, Spirit Airlines, and Frontier Airlines should all be put out of business because of their unethical and predatory business practices. The 3 work closely together to ruin the travel plans of countless naive frugal travelers every day, and NEVER refund or properly compensate you for the ruined or cancelled trip that's ALWAYS THEIR FAULT. Megabus and Greyhound are FAR better airlines than Frontier except their both less expensive and will actually get you to your destination much faster without the completely non-existent customer service experience. Annnnnd the biggest bonus is that unlike Frontier, if the maintenance people are on par with the product and non-existent customer service you get with Frontier, at least falling 30,000 feet out of the sky won't happen or sitting on a runway for hours. I said non-existent customer service, which is worse than the regular old bull customer service you get from Spirit (The ONLY airline as worthless and as Frontier), because you can't tell a Frontier Airlines employee how badly they f'ed up your vacation plans and had you stranded at the airport ALL DUE TO THEIR FAULT since 1.) The woefully understaffed Frontier ticket desk only has people who wear Frontier Airlines shirts but are contracted through another company & have ZERO access to boarding and flight once it's within 1 hr of scheduled departure. They literally CAN'T help you get on the flight they KNOW you're supposed to be on that hasn't arrived yet!! AND 2.) THERE'S NO TELEPHONE CUSTOMER SERVICE TO HELP RESOLVE ANY ISSUES LET ALONE A TIME SENSITIVEAT THE AIRPORT ISSUE! I was stranded at the airport for 3 hours on the phone with Booking.com trying to rectify a situation that Frontier should have been able to handle to get me on my flight when I arrived at the ticket counter about 90-100 mins prior to scheduled departure (Frontier emailed me that it was critical I arrive at least 1 hr early). They did not refund me my money or have an acceptable alternative to get me to my destination before I'd lost my entire investment on the hotel reservations for those days and my return flight on Spirit. At least Spirit had a live person to tell me to go screw myself. Frontier offered a chance to chat through What's App with a likely AI agent.....Real helpful when you need to secure a boarding pass but the system at the airport won't let you book & the gate agent isn't a real employee & is locked out of the system in that last hour. I pray that Frontier just disappears, along with Spirit. How they are still in business despite the fact that virtually EVERYONE that has used these 2 garbage airlines swear they're horrible so loudly and consistently is beyond me. You have to read or hear 150 horrible reviews to read 1 review that is not exactly horrible ("It wasn't quite as bad as I always heard" or something similar) and then another 50 horrible reviews to get the rare positive experience. That's the type of widespread customer dissatisfaction that can only be enhanced and multiplied 1000 fold by having no live customer service or actual employees for customers to deal with. Used Expedia to book a very simple trip from Denver to Houston to visit my brother and nephew. Flight from Denver to Houston on the Friday night of Memorial Day weekend, no problems, booked with United Airlines. Flight back from Houston, I reluctantly chose Frontier because of the time of the flight on the way to the airport in Houston to arrive 2 hours early, received 2 different text messages from 2 different numbers that gave 2 different delayed departure times, however no terminal and no gate. Long story short, I had to figure out what terminal and gate with no help from Frontier. Boarded at 11pm for a flight that was supposed to leave at 9pm, still sitting on the plane on the tarmac at 12:30 am with no Hope n sight and no updates from Frontier. I truly hope this company fails terribly and I hope that everyone that works for this company suffers from being laid off/fired for their complete incompetency and is unable to find another job because they do not deserve a paying job. One star rating is very generous. They need a negative star rating. I was on flight 1547 from PVD TO ATL on July 29, 2022. The worst plane experience EVER! First of all they offer you NOTHING for free! Make sure you have something to drink and something to snack on. The plane wasn't very clean. Then when we were on the runway wait to get to our gate a lady had to pee really bad. Every time she would try to go the bathrooms were occupied. Well the ONLY guy steward got on the loud speaker and said "the reason we are delayed is because someone had to pee". This was very uncool and unprofessional. I told him it was uncool on the way out and he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. FRONTIER may be cheap but they charge for even carry on bag. You are allowed 1 personal item ONLY. Anyone familiar with Spirit Airlines already know this setup. You get discounted travel via air on slightly dated planes and nothing more than that comes with your plane ticket. You can normally get even a better rate than you find online if you go to the ticket counter and ask for rates. With your ticket, you are only allowed one (1) small hand carry item. In gist, think medium sized purse, briefcase, or medium sized backpack. Only 1 (one) item that can fit in the seat in front you is allowed on the plane for free, so pack lightly. If you wish to place luggage underneath the plane, you get charged. It is cheaper to check in online and purchase your bad vouchers while online checking in. The price is considerably bigger. If you have luggage that you wish to carry on the flight and place in the overhead bin, you will be charged. The online purchasing rule applies to carry-on luggage as well, so make sure to purchase that voucher online as well. In regards to seating, you can purchase more legroom when you buy the ticket or just let the computer randomly pick a seat for you. The closer you are to the front of the plane, the more legroom you will get. With that same mental diagram, you pay more for legroom the closer you get to the front of the plane. You can also buy a variety of snacks and/or liquor on the plane, but it is debit/credit card only. All in all, I didn't find my exit row seat lacking in legroom, but comfort was different. My butt feel asleep several times via my flight. I guess I'm not experienced with having hard items near my rear, so it was an adjustment for me. Overall, staff are consistently friendly and helpful. They will earn more stars from me when they increase their flight destinations. I was curious to know one thing when traveling with them. Don't be tricked by low price enticements. This bottom rung airline has sneaky hidden costs and absurd guidelines regarding bags and check in. Their kiosks don't allow check in at the airport. In my case, I showed up over an hour before my flight with no suitcase to check. I was lamely directed to their app, which said the flight was closed. Their customer service number directs you to a cheap chatbot that gives very limited menu options and runs you in circles. In my opinion, this is a substandard, ripoff airline with abysmal customer service that should be avoided like a plague. read more

Today was my first experience (and last) flying Frontier. My cheif complaint is with the number of blaring announcements made by the flight attendants, which were overly loud and incessant. Moreover, I truly resent the pitch, which the flight crew is forced to make to try to get passengers who are "captive audiences" to sign up for a Frontier MasterCard, which I found repulsive. Don't plan on using the lap tray in front of you if you are a passenger, which the flight crew calls the "Barbie Tray". You can barely fit an object the size of a paperback on the tray. And if leg room is important you can forget having any on a Frontier flight. Frontier makes you pay hefty prices for soft drinks and snacks too. They can't even provide passengers with a measly bag of free pretzels or peanuts, which is pretty sad especially in view of the fact Frontier charges $ 15.00 more than all other airlines to check a bag. I am certain I am not the only person who feels the same way. Frontier offers low fares yet when you add all of their additional charges the airline is not really a bargain. Frontier has received quite a few one star ratings on Yelp, which I read before writing this post and can easily see that many people in addition to myself have had negative experiences, which I hope Frontier will take seriously. Meanwhile I do not recommend Frontier Airlines for the reasons I have stated within this review. I was really hoping Frontier would be the alternative airline that Spirit once was; however they're anything but. As a result of deregulation there aren't many airlines left to choose from. Flight delayed 30 minutes with no warning. The roughest flight back again with no reason why or no warning of turbulence. Something felt weird since the start. Arrive to Houston, only for Frontier to bring us to US Customs and have over 100 people lost. They direct us back into a tight hallway and won't unlock the door for awhile while it's 110° outside and becoming a hotbox. Everyone finally gets in and goes to the baggage claim we were told to go, only to be directed back down stairs because it wasn't Frontiers baggage claim. Purchased 2 separate flights wanted to swap the passenger from one flight to the next. Made a call to see if it was possible, they confirmed to us it was possible they'd put a note in the system no issue and to ask when we get to the airport. We get to the airport they inform us they can't do it after waiting for them to figure something out we missed the flight and they could only change the flight they gave us two option tomorrow at 9pm or today at 9:30. They gave two separate flights, one to a location, then one for our destination. Got to the airport, we were meant to board at 8:15pm got delayed all the way til around 10 we got on the plane so we were already going to miss the connecting flight due to the delay. As we waited it was announced the flight was slightly more delayed due to the door latch not working properly. They called someone over to take a look they said that would take 10 minutes for them to arrive and they don't know the additional time to fix the issue. Summary: Overall, a pretty good experience. My friends and I were really concerned with how the flights may be delayed up to 9 hours, cancelled, or even operate safely for our whole round trip. Plenty of terrible ratings and reviews for Frontier exists for a reason but I don't think enough people who have had good experiences posted any reviews. Some issues are with hidden fees, delayed flights, cancelled flights, and customer service. My friends and I did a bit of research before flying. Like all of our travel plans, we like to be prepared in case of certain emergencies. One more note, Frontier is really affordable. My friends and I have saved roughly $2,000 to fly Frontier as opposed to United or Southwestern. So a lot of their charges like food and services help out with their airline. At the Airport Service: From IAH to SFO, the attendant at the checkin desk and baggage check in was friendly. Mostly because it was 4am, the lines were stacking up to 30 people, more than any other line at IAH. Only one attendant was handling checkins and baggage claim at the time. After that, it was smooth sailing. From SFO to IAH, the attendants at the checkin desk and baggage checks were pretty friendly. Around 7am, the lines were stacking up for a 9am flight. 4 employees were assisting us with our bags and check ins, the man at the front desk may have appeared a bit impatient and did speed up the process I suppose and I don't think he should have thrown all of our baggages which may be the reason why people are getting broken luggages coming from or to certain cities. Who knows if it's mishandled after that when the luggages are either thrown onto the airplanes themselves. Environment: Mostly clean, just don't dig into the pouches behind people's airplane seats. Cushion for the head incase you like sleeping and the chair reclines for comfort only 2-3 inches. There is a small television screen on the back of everyone's seat, you can watch television or movies for 5 bucks. If you did not bring your own entertainment and wanted to stay on the flight for 3-4 hours to watch tv on the plane, you are dumb. Hidden Fees: They're not really hidden fees, they post them online for you to read what's included as the charges for the trip. While it wasn't surprising to us, we still didn't like the fact that they charge for carry-ons, but it was part of their service. Tips/Hints? 1. Travel light and don't put fragile items in suitcases/checked baggages. 2. Becoming a Frontier Member gets you discount on your baggage checkin. 3. Register during certain special occassions or holidays for discounts, we got discounted on Valentine's day. 4. Bring your own entertainment. 5. Eat before going. 6. Don't make this your most important trip of the year through frontier if you're afraid of things going wrong. 7. Check in within 24 hours of flight, baggage check 2 hours before flight. 8. Be at gate 30 minutes before flight, not 1 minute before or after. 9. Measure your personal items, carry ons by their specified dimensions. 10. Frontier Airlines seems to have the unique marketing plan of maximizing consumer irritation while minimizing price. Or at least the appearance of minimum price: carry on is $45/ea IF you have time to pay before getting to the gate. At the gate the price is $60/ea. To add to the confusion, there is no explanation regarding your "personal carry-on" that you MUST place under the seat. I, like other fellow passengers, was surprised to find three (3) kiosks to print out boarding passes. Convenience? No, finding only one that was working, we soon were reminded: We were definitely Frontier passengers! Finally found a way to print my pass (the confirmation number was not recognized) and rushed off to stand in security lines. Sadly, I'd picked up the Receipt for my bags and not the pass. TSA cheerfully said I could probably find my pass back at the kiosk and enjoy standing in line....AGAIN! read more
