I booked a flight to travel and the cheapest option was FRONTIER. Three years ago I and a friend missed a flight to Florida because of the needless hassle the baggage check in desk making issues out of their mistakes as if we were to blame. Finally we both got through and I was at the gate to board and my companion was 200 feet away walking to catch up, they told me that I went through the door now or they were closing it. I said, "but they're right there!" They could see my friend walking and they shut the door 30 seconds before my friend arrived. Unbelievable! I said I'd never fly with them again. Today I am. 100 dollars for a check in bag so I brought none. Got the thicket last week. Got an email to check in. I clicked on it and it should me nothing to click on so I figured "no big deal". At the desk 30 minutes ago, they said that you have to check in online or it's a $25 fee. I went back to the email and it only gives you the option to get the App. They assured me I don't have to get the app... but they expect you to come 3 hours ahead of flight to have them assist you with their email that offers no link to check in. This airline gouges you wherever they can... very distrust worthy. I hope they don't skimp on plane parts. read more

It is times like this they should allow a negative point factor that you are only allowed to give maybe once a year. I would use it on frontier. Sitting on a plane waiting for it to take off for 3 hours - I guess I have time to review frontier. Oh and they progressively bumped up the temp so by the time we were taking off I was stewing in a brew of greasy sweat and then needed to fly for 3 hours like that. Anyway, everything is al a carte of course.. as an example, you get water and anything else costs. I especially loved the fact that I paid $5 to get in group 1 for expedited boarding but then everyone else did too so like 95% of people were in group 1. What a load of BS!!! Everything is bare bones... at the end of the day, you get what you pay for. I should have just paid more. Oh and then one of the attendants was all attitude.. I just brushed it off but he kept being a douche and checking my seat belt a million times and explaining that it needed to be belted, even though it was the whole time! That said, the female attendant was actually super nice so idk, maybe that part evens out. Anyway, at the end of the day, frontier solidly deserves 1 star.. it is the 1 star airline of all airlines. So, maybe this review is not needed but I feel like I need to vent. I payed extra for the big seats only for them to tell me that I needed to have extra items purchased to really get the seats. I had a flight for today that they wouldn't let me board because the app wouldn't allow me to check in. I came 45 minutes earlier to desk and asked for help and she just shrugged her shoulders so I thought I would be ok. I even told her I can't see my seat after checking in and she ignored me when I asked for help but then they wouldn't let me on flight because I "wasn't checked in" Thanks goodness I had proof that I spoke to them early and Frontier refunded me and got me on another flight but these girls are so cold and dismissive, I was there early enough where she could of offered options of even going downstairs but instead they just wait until I'm ready to board. They also lied and noted on file that I was late when I wasn't. Thank you. I know know what airline not to use in the future. The fees for just adding a bag, not even the normal 50lbs, but a 40lbs checked back is $54 both was(108 total). If it goes over to 41 to 50 lbs its an additional 75$ both ways ($258). That is for a plane ticket that started at $225 with no carry-on or checked bags and an 1.5 hr plan trip. I didn't know before I booked the tickets but I know know I will choose any other company than Frontier going forward. read more

Our plane from Santa Anna airport to Las Vegas was delayed for 50 mins. The same thing happened to the flight before us, which was to fly to Denver. Since we were not in rush and the workers sincerely apologize for the delay so I am chill about it but do feel sorry for those who have another flight to catch after land Las Vegas. We didn't check in with any bags so they put us in the front rows so we can get down from the plane fast. We got two all-you-can-fly-passes with Frontier last November so this whole flight is almost free. Frontier can offer such good deals to customers all the time, I am very thankful for that. You ask for help and get treated like you are incapable, again just simple questions but the attendants cannot be bothered with that as if they have something else way more important to do. Frontier is an absolute joke. No one who works for the company is on the same page. After I bought my ticket I realized they charge 70-80 for a carry on or checked bag one way. So I found a gym bag that was the dimensions of their personal item which is ridiculous. 18x14x8. I measured it and figured I was good to go. I get to the airport and they make me pay 80 dollars to consider it a "carry on" because it doesn't fit in their little size thing. After I get on the plane I see someone with the same Bag as me and he didn't have to pay. It's a slap to the face customer service wise and now I'm going to pay 160 round trip to bring my gym bag with me for a flight I paid 186 for. Absolutely horrible. You risk spending WAY more flying this "airline" in an effort to save. You also risk your trip in general. My daughter was an hour and a half early to her flight, but the code given Via email didn't work. No one would help her. When she finally got to the front of a line to check bags, she asked again for help but they refused to check her in. They claimed she was late, that she didn't have time...even an hour early. They refused to let her even try to make the plane. She was crying, across the country and alone. They pushed her along like cattle after taking our money. We had to buy another ticket to get her safely home. This time we were smart and booked a real airline. Frontier runs through digital systems, no customer service and likely deliberately functions like a scam. They overbook and then select only the first to show to fill seats. They actually get to fly and make the trip already paid for. Those that show a bit later don't get to fly, and they don't get their money back either. Scam, gamble...whatever you want to call it. No Customer Support! I was ill trying to fly home from San Francisco to Santa Ana and arrived 5 hours early to the airport for my $65 flight. An hour after arriving I got a text that the flight was delayed 40 minutes. Then an hour after that the information board said the gate had been moved to a whole other wing. Then I got an e-mail that there was another delay of 1 hour, something about maintenance issues. Then 2 hours later another e-mail that the flight had been cancelled offering a refund. Meanwhile not a Frontier agent in sight, offering to re-book or anything. I tried to find another airline flight but they were all 9-10 times the price. What's everyone complaining for? I flew from OC to SF roundtrip. No delays. Friendly crew. Yes only one personal item (backpack), app only service, you DO have to pay for everything. But if you knew that going in, there should be no problem. They even offered exit seating upon boarding for free. There were 3 of us, I checked in and let the system choose our seats. 2 of us sat next to each other and the other person in front of us. The seats don't recline, not too comfortable but so what. 1-2 hour flight, suck it up. All this time I was afraid of using budget airlines like frontier but there's nothing wrong with it. Discovered a whole new frontier on this trip. If you are traveling last flight out at night, listen up, this could apply to you: My flight originally was set to depart at 9, unfortunately it arrived late. Apparently there is a rule that planes get fined out of SNA if they leave after 10pm. So they grounded the flight and sent us to the front to rebook and get vouchers and what not. I recommend just rebooking yourself on the phone it's much fast before others get it in line. If you don't live here, they provide hotel vouchers!! I was very surprised by this. However didn't know when they had it ready. Luckily, the manager at the hotel responded pretty quickly so by 11:30pm we all had a room. Otherwise it would be $150 a night. We also got 3 more emails that gave $10-15 food vouchers to use within the next 24 hrs. I ordered brunch for $20, and it seems my luck ran out cause it depleted my supposedly $30 voucher.. there should be a smarter way to use it. I got an email saying my flight is delayed until 9:59pm, with is an hour and half from the original time of departure. I asked the frontier customer service representative if that true and she went to ask at the frontier counter and came saying it's only delayed one hour not an hour and half. She asked me to step out of the line and come back at least an hour prior to 9:29, like 8:20 or so, since we are unable to check in before that. We listened and left. We returned to the line at 8:20pm as advised and the waited in line, less than 2 minutes in line, the front desk staff were screaming at the line, is there anyone else waiting to check in for NY flight your flight will boarding will be closing and you need to come to the front of the line now. Not only us responded in shock, but there were a hand full of customers that left with us and rush to the front desk of the check in counter and we formed a line of front of the front desk. At the counter we were met by an angry, rude, extremely unprofessional and unpleasant frontier customer representative, who is a female white or Hispanic individual, in her mid 20's. She yelled at us as if we did something wrong. Then she told us she'll charge us $25 each to get us our tickets. I explained to her that all we did is follow directions up to this point. I explained I was a a disabled veteran and I could not afford to pay for her "inconvenience fee" I asked to be seated next to my wife who was my care taker and she ignored our request and said, "I don't care if you are a veteran or not" next time you pay and she seated us farther apart, I was in the center of the plane and my care taker wife was in the back. The entire time with no snack or water being offered for a flight that was 5 hours. FRONTIER WILL NICKEL & DIME YOU! We used Frontier on a short, return flight from Denver to SNA several days ago. The boarding took forever as personnel checked EACH bag, including back-packs to make sure they were small enough to carry on. First checked bag is $53. Needless to say, the flight was delayed. Then there's this: "It's $5 for an emergency oxygen mask and $10 for a life vest." My husband can swim but I can't, and I wasn't about to pay it ahead of time. The tray table is micro-mini, can't be pulled out and won't hold a phone! We paid extra for the seat and still can't believe how small it was! Soft drinks were extra at $3.50 per can. When we made the original reservation online, it was so confusing a $328 one way flight ended up being over $700! I gasped, cancelled, and started over. This company is a scam. You pay 100+ just to add a carry on bag not to mention each checked bag has a fee of about 110$ per bag or more when purchased at the airport. The staff is of lower education and has a hard time doing their jobs correctly. I had to transfer a ticket and upon doing so my bag purchase was not included on the ticket although I had paid for the bag which was showing on the frontier website "manager" insisted that because her screen did not show the purchase of the bag that the bag was not purchased, even though there was a confirmation email receipt and the purchase was showing on the frontier website. The manager "veneal" from the Denver airport refused to allow us to rep purchase the bag and told us to standby forcing us to miss our flight. on top of being extremely rude forcing us to miss our flight we were told that we had to purchase brand new tickets just to get home for the remainder of our trip. Thank you to Expedia for their 4 hours of support and for reaching out to higher level executives to rectify the problem if it wasn't for them, I would've never made it out of Denver. I love the growing Frontier Airlines presence here at John Wayne Airport. (SNA) My family and friends normally fly from the Las Vegas to Orange County route to take advantage of Disneyland and Huntington Beach. The airport team and flight crew are very professional and caring! I find it very interesting that at this airport, the pilots have to take off in a special way due to orange country rules. Regardless the crew is always able to take off perfectly. The lines are normally never long and the checking in is a straight breeze! This airline is a budget airline so everyone should know how U.S. carriers impose fees on seating assignments, luggage's, etc. If you're flying to Orange County. I flew with them only a handful of times and they gave me grief every time. Don't be fooled by the low airfare. Everything else will cost you and it will end up being more than flying business class. Your seat will cost you $20-50, if you didn't have your ticket printed out or have their app to check in then it will cost you $25 just to print out your boarding pass. My carryon luggage is the right size and fits into their measuring bin and they still charged me $99 and forced me to check it in because they said it didn't fit in smoothly and I have to tug on it to get it out of the measuring bin. Don't bother talking sense into them because their attendants will right out yell at you. I couldn't stand them anymore and canceled a flight I had with them and it took them a little under 3 months to refund me.
