Always a smooth sailing with Alaska Airlines here in SNA. I did everything online through the app, if I go international, I had to checkin in person to shown my ID. Staff are nice and great. Sometime if I'm lucky, then I could get my choice of seat or upgrade (due to statues).. Majority of time, they are on time and efficient and courteous at the gate.

This is my first time flying Alaskan Airlines. It was recently bought out by Hawaiian Airlines. I actually have a Hawaiian account, so I was able to book this flight through them. And surprisingly, it was cheaper doing this, than the price it would have been to book directly through Alaska with my man's Alaska account. No delays ever experienced with this one. Thank goodness. And we hope it stays that way.

    Safety first!

Just like my Yelp Elite friend, Van D, I've not have any negative experiences when flying with Alaska Airlines. Don't read any of the 1 or 2 star reviews from the non-Elites. Read her review, and that's all you need to know. The end. ........................................................... ........................................................... ........................................................... ........................................................... ........................................................... ........................................................... On second thought, that intro was arguably curt, and I don't think a review telling readers to read another review would count as a valid Yelp review, so let's see what else I can add here. I've flown Alaska Airlines several times in the past both for business and personal travel. I honestly cannot recall even one bad thing about Alaska Airlines except for a hard landing on the flight back home, which I plan to write about on the SeaTac Alaska Airlines business page. It's not clear to me if a business listing for Alaska Airlines at a certain airport should be for your departing flight or for your arriving flight at that airport. To make it clear to the readers, my rating is for the departing flight from John Wayne Airport. Check-in was smooth. Since I didn't have any checked bags, I simply went to a kiosk to print out my boarding pass, and off to security I went! Remember your six-character confirmation code for super easy hassle-free check-in! After going through a TSA Security Checkpoint, the gate to my Alaska Airlines flight to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SeaTac) was just steps away, and I immediately sat at a seat facing McDonalds. Even though I could have gotten a Breakfast McMuffin, I wasn't really hungry, so I passed the time by utilizing the Orange County airport's free WiFi for my cellular device. Boarding starts between 30-40 minutes prior to takeoff. Pay careful attention and listen to the announcement that your boarding group is ready to board. I was in Group B, and when I heard the announcement, I was practically the only one to step in line. Or did my ears deceive me?? Luckily no. One of the agents asked another if she had called for Boarding Group B as in Boy. Yes she did, and since I was already in line, I was pretty much the first passenger in economy class to scan my boarding pass, stow my carry-on in the overhead stowage bin, and get settled into my seat. Not quite first class, but first in economy class has a nice ring to it :) After boarding, it took a while for the remaining passengers to fill up the cabin, but there were still a handful of empty seats in the plane. In fact, the row directly across from me only had one passenger! My row had two other passengers, which kind of confused me because I didn't remember seeing that many available seats when I checked on the Alaska Airlines app the previous evening. Anyways, I won't dock a star for that. I just wanted to throw it out there to let readers know they can check for available seats in the hours leading up to their scheduled flight. Be sure to look carefully to see which side of the airplane you're on. A and F are windows seats. B and E are middle seats. C and D are aisle seats. Don't sit on the wrong side of the plane! The placards directly beneath the overhead stowage bins will tell you. The flight from Santa Ana, CA to Seattle, WA was pretty uneventful for the most part. There are some cards on the back of each seat, and you can peruse these cards to learn more about safety procedures and what food/drinks are offered, either complimentary or for purchase. About halfway through the flight, the flight attendants wheel carts down the aisle to service the passengers. One handed out bags of pretzel braids alongside a napkin. Two others were asking each passenger for his/her preferred drink choice. In the past, Orange Juice was my go to, but on this particular flight, when the passenger next to me mentioned she'd like coffee, I hurriedly looked through one of the aformentioned cards to see if it was complimentary or not. Since it was a 7 AM flight, I could definitely use a cup of Joe, and once I saw it was indeed complimentary, I chose coffee as well. Definitely helped me get through the busy first day of my temporary assignment in the Pacific Northwest! The flight arrived earlier than expected, and a smooth landing later, I was just a rental car away from being able to report to my temporary assignment that same morning. Seamless check-in and boarding process, courteous flight attendants, and a smooth flight. What more can I ask for? How about miles to my Mileage Plan, Alaska Airlines' one and only loyalty program?! Why yes, of course! :)

I'm on the plane waiting in my seat. Boarding is taking FOREVER and it's already a packed 737 from SNA to SEA. Luckily I paid for a first class ticket so I'm in the 3rd row. Food choices are limited and not gluten free. The flight attendant is really sweet so all the stars for her!! It's pretty smooth so far and my WiFi works for free thanks to T Mobile! It's great to travel again!!

    Worse nightmare

Still giving them 5 stars ! Mark is @ your Bozeman, Montana location and handled this with ease and even hooked me up on my trip back! We had delays & my hat is off to the pilots that flew around Seattle Washington as well. We had 30 mph winds for a couple hours! The service and the pilots did an unbelievable job! This was a major ski trip with a group of friends meeting from all different destinations, and I was trying to get back home to San Diego.

It is always more expensive to fly out of here but it does save you from the headache of LAX. You have to weigh your options and priorities. I am willing to pay a little more out of here at times. The location of SNA is ideal if you're staying in the OC - the only other options in the area are SAN and LAX which are both over an hour drive away in either direction. The airport isn't large, but large enough to have several routes passing through it. The aesthetics are fine - not the most modern airport I've been to, and they seem to have a good amount of shops and eateries relative to their size. The rental car counters are super close to the terminal - I can't remember the last time I walked to one from baggage claim. My only real issue with SNA is that because of its size, you will likely be limited in routes. Flying from JFK to SNA was fine, but coming home my only options were connecting flights or a red eye. Neither were ideal, so I planned my itinerary accordingly to fly out of another airport. Overall, SNA is good for what it is, and a great option if you're visiting the Orange County area.

I am deeply disappointed by United Airlines' handling of my family's travel matter and the manner…read morein which the company addressed our subsequent concerns. My mother was denied boarding on a flight to Vietnam despite presenting travel documentation that satisfied the applicable entry requirements. At the time of the incident, United personnel determined that her documents were insufficient because she did not have a passport for travel. However the document that was presented that day were valid and approved document by IATA as exception for the specific country she was traveling to. As a result, our travel plans were disrupted, and we incurred significant unexpected expenses. Following the denial of boarding, we were forced to purchase a last-minute ticket with another airline in order to continue our travel. Most concerning, however, is that the same travel documents that United rejected were subsequently reviewed and accepted that very same day, by a different airline. Allowing my mother to travel without issue. Afterward i went to United's terminal to ask for explanation, that was when a United's lobby lead made a phone call to verify with timatic and was able to figure out their mistake. This directly contradicts United's determination and raises serious concerns regarding the accuracy of the original document review and the manner in which United applied its document verification procedures. Throughout the complaint process, I repeatedly sought a clear explanation as to why the documents were deemed unacceptable by United but were later accepted for travel. Rather than addressing this specific concern, United's responses consistently relied on generalized references to company policy, passenger responsibility, and Timatic verification procedures. While I fully recognize that airlines must adhere to strict international travel regulations and document verification requirements, the central issue has never been the existence of those policies. The issue is whether those policies were correctly applied in this particular case. United ultimately refunded the unused ticket; however, the company declined to reimburse or compensate us for the substantial additional expenses that directly resulted from the denial of boarding. More importantly, United declined to meaningfully address the evidence presented regarding the subsequent acceptance of the same travel documents. The final response from United was particularly troubling. After multiple rounds of correspondence, the company stated that it would maintain its decision, considered the matter fully addressed, and declared the case closed. At no point was a detailed explanation provided regarding the discrepancy between United's determination and the later acceptance of the same documents. Nor was there any indication that the company was willing to conduct a meaningful review of whether an error may have occurred. Large organizations inevitably encounter difficult situations and occasional mistakes. What distinguishes exceptional customer service is a willingness to thoroughly investigate concerns, provide transparent explanations, and acknowledge potential errors when warranted. In this case, I was left with the impression that United's primary objective was to close the complaint rather than fully examine the facts that were presented. As a long-time traveler, I expect a major international carrier to demonstrate a higher level of accountability, transparency, and commitment to customer concerns. Unfortunately, my experience has significantly diminished my confidence in United Airlines. I hope the company reevaluates how similar cases are handled in the future so that other passengers do not experience the same financial hardship, inconvenience, and frustration that my family endured.
