The representative for Frontier Communications says I can ONLY cancel my service at the end of my billing cycle. The billing cycle ends May 10th , today is the 29th. She said they don't give refunds. she asked for a Customer service identification. I asked should I have it... long pause... I'm sending it via the postal service. you should receive it within 3 to 5 business days. Once you receive it you can give us a call so we can cancel your service.(MUTE POINT) DUH... I questioned her again, she said I already told you that. Also, almost every communication and notification is via email even my payment. MY PAYMENT HAS NEVER BEEN REJECTED!!! The internet is so bad I could barley even open yelp, to leave a 1 star review. Don't waste your money. customer Service comes out of a different country and can barely understand what I'm saying. If you enjoy having TV and internet do not get this service it is crap. My child can't even do her schoolwork and my wife can't even do her work. I saw a Frontier tech when our internet was installed 9 months ago. He was helpful and efficient. Fast forward: I continually have spotty coverage and am at the mercy of their robo-loop support (so no support whatsoever). Before I disconnected with the Robo-tech today it did ask me if I wanted to upgrade and never lose connectivity. Um..no. Don't spend your $ here. read more

Frontier scheduled me for an appointment with a 5 hour window for delivery so I took the day off. Woke up, double checked the timing, and they had rescheduled the appointment despite me having taken the day off. Tried to get clarified, and after speaking to several people that admitted that they not only rescheduled things but don't know why. I am being screamed at in mostly ebonics about something? I literally don't know why Frontier isn't hiring people that can't communicate in English. There is no joy in typing this. Charter had me setup in literally 30 minutes after Frontier literally ruined things for self-installation of a competitors internet... but Frontier doesn't actually show up for upgrades. Charter showed up, fixed all of Frontiers issues in 30 minutes. Let me be clear. Frontier gave me a 5 hour window to do a minor service upgrade, changed it without notification to us, and then the customer service had no idea of why Frontiers service changed the schedule. On top of that I was screamed at by a Frontier customer screaming everything is my fault and speaking in a dialect that literally makes no sense. Frontier told me they'd be here in a 5 hour window and no showed. Asked what was going on and was yelled at by Frontier in a dialect that I literally don't know why I was being yelled at. Called Charter. Went over everything. They showed up in 15 minutes to fix the issues Frontier created. From the end of my call with Charter it was maybe 30 minutes to a resolution? They didn't scream at me and blame me for their own inability to do service work that they recommended the time for. If you speak what I can only describe as "hood rat" and you are use ti being let down Frontier is for you. Frontier is really bad. My service request would have upped the monthly spend by 5x, and they literally didn't care or have someone that speaks English assist me. read more

They upped my bill and now I pay more than double the advertised rate. I used the chat on their site and asked to speak to a person and the "person" they gave was just AI, very clearly AI but claims to not be, I put the text in an AI detector and it even came back 100% AI. People can tell, especially when it keeps touting version ads in the chat. Ended up just switching service. I signed up it was $60 am paying $110. read more

I signed up for Frontier 2 years ago at $40/month, they jacked it up to $50/month a year later, and this year up to $60/month. I found a better rate elsewhere, called and cancelled on the 2/10 and they said a) I can't get money back for the rest of February b) there's a $50 "restocking fee"...they're a crummy company, bad experience. read more

I scheduled to have service set up in November, after 3 failed attempts to come out and service men showing up while we weren't home I decided to stay with my carrier. 5 months later and 4 phone calls I was told equipment had been installed in my home and I would be charged. Finally spoke to someone who was able to cancel the service I never had and assured me I wouldn't be charged. Yesterday there was a debit from my account for YouTube TV which again I do not have. So now I have to dispute the charge!!!!! I would rather pay more money and never have to deal with Frontier. They were horrible 10 years ago and are no better today. This is the most frustrating experience with an internet service. I moved out of my apartment 10/31/24. The internet installer told me to leave the router in the apartment. Do not do this you must mail back the equipment so you do not get a charge. I paid the fee 6/10/25 for the charges for the router that was not returned. Now I am getting a late fee charge 7/2/25? I have no clue what this charge is for? I don't live at this address anymore and I no longer have frontier internet. What is the late fee charge for? This makes no sense. I have been trying to cancel this service for the past 8 months. I've spoken to people on the phone and it seems like no one can figure this problem out. Frontier are so terrible, we canceled our service because we were moving. It apparently got canceled the day after the billing cycle ended, so they sent us a bill for the entire month of service we did not use. They also charged us for a equipment restocking fee, which was not told to us when we called to cancel service so I had to call and dispute that, which we did get credit for. After calling three separate times about why we were still getting a bill for a month of service we did not use, they continued to tell me it would be disputed and taken off the bill. Which brings me to now, we've received a notice saying our unpaid bill was going to collections. So after an hour on the phone and being transferred five times, they are telling me that we should have paid for the month of service and then we would have had it credited back to our account...an account that is deactivated. So after jumping through 10,000x hoops they finally submitted a credit request for the month of service that we had it disconnected...which will have to be sent to a supervisor to approve or deny. Oh and on top of that, everytime I asked to speak to a supervisor since I was transferred so many times, I was told No, there was no one available. So if you have Frontier internet because that's the only service that reaches you, I'm sorry...if you ever have to cancel, make sure you speak to someone higher up to begin with because this has been absolutely ridiculous. read more

Stay away from Frontier. Technical Support is just sales people that will shove a "free 3 month extender" down your throat as every solution. An extender will not fix my broken internet that does not even work with a LAN cable. Wish I knew this before, I will never be a customer of Frontier again. read more

We were originally with Verizon FIOS until Frontier took over. It's been a hassle dealing with Frontier. Their online platform has bug after bug and it's a wonder they even know about it until we actually report it. Why are we doing the job that their test engineers should've caught? This is assuming they have a testing plan in place of course. Customer service lacks.. customer service. Being with VzW FIOS for 20+ years doesn't garner any loyalty. They have us paying twice as much for fraction of the internet speed a new customer pays for. How is that for customer loyalty. And the few times I've reported issues, they cannot resolve. I've had to take things into my own hands and do their job for them at times. It's frustrating and takes me away from my family time. Do better. It's a small thing to ask. read more

I had Frontier and I would not recommend. First the service was unreliable. The modem needed to be reset all the time and speeds seriously lag if modem wasn't reset on regular basis. Second the "free" router they give you is really a loan. They want it back when you cancel and charge a $50 restocking fee. That's on top of the full month of service if you happen to cancel on a day that is not your last day of service. I did call customer service and they prorated my bill, so I can't complain on that. Ultimately the service was over priced and under performed. If you have another option, I'd use that one. read more

Frontier sets a new level in lack of customer service. Pay bill via auto draft. They took money out of my account on the 6th of last month for my bill, shut me off today. And TRY to get a human to talk to. You get 11 minutes of commercials while trying to understand why they fkd up MY bill. Total garbage. read more

If I could give a lower rating I would. The service was at best okay. I just called to cancel service because they aren't available where I'm moving. They are tacking on all sorts of fees because they don't provide servcie and they want me to find a replacement person/family for the location I'm moving from. They don't tell you any of this when you sign up. I have QR codes for turning in the equipment that I just read in some other reviews don't work. I guess we will see on that issue. I would never reccomend frontier service to anyone and would tell anyone/everyone to get any other service available. read more

The absolute worst company I've ever dealt with in my life. Zero customer service and zero technical support. Then after all the misery they inflict on you, they send you ballooning bills and mismanage your payments. I can see why they went bankrupt. We have been with Frontier since they took over Verizon. In all those years, we only had one outage, apparently due to someone damaging one of their boxes. A couple of weeks ago, a Spectrum salesman came to our door and persuaded us to switch to Spectrum. The monthly savings appealed to us. Egor, the technician who completed the installation, was polite, but he was non-communicative, so we had no idea what he was doing, and he really didn't present himself as one who likes being interrupted. He was about to leave when I asked, "Shouldn't we make certain everything is working on our devices?" He agreed to wait for us to check. We confirmed that we had internet, but in our haste we didn't think to try connecting our printer to wi-fi. That was a mistake because after he was already gone we realized we couldn't print anything from our computers. I also manage a website. Later in the day, when I attempted to put in an update, I was unable to do so. I called Spectrum customer service for assistance. The agent suggested waiting a week for our new ISP to transmit. I thought that was odd advice, so later in the day I tried chatting with a technician online. He suggested the problem wasn't with Spectrum, but rather with our web hosting service. Our web hosting service assured us everything was fine on their end. After a week of waiting for a miracle to happen (and it didn't), we decided to cancel our subscription to Spectrum and return to Frontier with our tails tucked between our legs. Today, a polite and communicative Frontier technician named Ed came to our home and set us back up with their service. He announced when the installation was complete and let us know we could then check our devices. EVERYTHING worked, including our printer, plus I was able to put in the update to my website. I'm sorry to read that so many people are dissatisfied with Frontier--our experience is that they are responsive, professional and courteous. Thank you, Frontier--and Ed! read more

June 4th we went to bed with internet, slept well. Wake up June 5th we have no internet. ‍‍ Check for outages, none. Chat with various techs and supervisors and as I sit here now, our repair date is June 14th. 9 days, let me say this one more time, 9 days to hopefully get internet again!!! Did come out after 2 days and run a temp line across street. Tech told me it wouldn't last long with traffic. He was right. Cable cut in road crossing over night, no internet still. Sadly I have to give one star, but that's being way too generous. After speaking with three different agents and getting the run-around, the only thing they could say repeatedly is, "I'm sorry. But we can't get a tech out to your 91 year old Mom's home until five days later (she will have to go 7 days without ANY internet service). Frontier has no customer relations whatsoever, so we're heading over to AT&T and saving over $200 a year with much faster service. read more

My primary use for wifi was for work no issues or service disconnecting. I was surprised when disconnecting my service as I " moved out of the serviceable foot print" you will receive a restocking fee for equipment of $50.00?! The rep said we'll take care of the shipping like that was a favor. Also they don't pro rate so make sure you disconnect before the next billing cycle read more

I made my first electronic payment on June 15 and today the claim they didn't get it! After talking to several people from India I accomplished nothing but them putting on a late charge. I confirmed it with my bank they sent the money and after calling again and holding forever I ended up cancelling my account. This was the first month. Avoid at all costs. read more

We originally had a Frontier residential bundle package -- home phone, internet, and cable TV services. We finally decided to cut the cable TV and phone services, and only keep the internet for streaming. I contacted Frontier the 1st week of February 2023 to make these changes. I was told that a service tech would need to come to my house to install the proper equipment since I wanted to upgrade the internet. I was also told Feb. 13, 2023, was the earliest available date a technician could come out. Customer service said that we would have all the services available until Feb 13th when the tech came out to change things over. The technician came on the scheduled date, upgraded the necessary equipment, and left with our cable TV set-top boxes, remotes, etc. Our newly upgraded internet worked as promised. Fast forward... the next bill arrived and still showed charges for the no-longer existing TV and phone services and the new internet service. I thought it would be an easy fix with a phone call. NOPE. The billing rep spoken to on the phone said that our new billing cycle actually STARTED on Feb. 13th, the date the upgrade work happened, and cable TV set-top boxes were collected, which was the earliest date they could offer. He said that even though TV and phone were gone after Feb. 13th, the service was technically active on Feb. 13th, although very briefly, and they do NOT prorate or credit for service any portion of the billing cycle, no matter if you had the service for 1 second of the billing cycle or the entire billing cycle. Apparently, it's in the fine print -- but there's no fairness, logic, or customer care embedded in the fine print with it. Also, I requested to speak to a manager or someone higher ranking who might have the latitude or credentials to step outside of the fine-print box, and the rep said that I was talking to "the only person you need to talk to". He was apparently at the top end of the Frontier Communications hierarchy. I'm not done with this matter, but I just want everyone else to be aware of the dates when you're dealing with this company. After the phone communication, I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe the date wasn't scheduled by Frontier on that date with the intent to take our money through the fine print... almost like extortion because they are stacking on late fees as I argue my position rather than just paying up. You may want to consider another service provider if you have the option; otherwise, watch the fine print! read more

Poor service - they hit my account twice in a single billing cycle when I had auto pay on, and it took several phone calls where I had to prove a double amount was taken, in order to apply a negative balance to my next billing cycle (they don't refund if they make a mistake). Had to turn auto pay off. Also, if you cancel in the middle of a billing cycle, they charge you for the entire cycle, and the set top boxes often stop service to reboot. Made the switch to Spectrum and the service is better, and no double dips with auto pay. read more
