Move over Top Pot, there's a new doughnut shop in town. ;) I didn't try the bacon maple, but gave the hubby a couple and he sure did like them. I loved the Banana Bismark and the German Chocolate. That's all I had the stomach for this time around, but I have found my new doughnut place for sure. I got the mixed dozen for $14.99, I believe is the same as Top Pot, and oh so worth it too. You just have to think about this place as a doughnut version of Trophy Cupcakes. Can't help but love Top Pot Donuts. I have to admit their (Frost) new Mill Creek location has a larger space to hang out with family and friends and they have a nice variety of treats to offer. The donuts are good of course but their frozen treat was not one I cared for. Maybe I'll give it another try no guarantees but definitely go back for the donuts. read more

I saw the cute pink and brown sign from the street and knew I had to try this place. With a name like "Frost" I originally thought it was a cupcake shop, rather than a doughnut shop. First of all, I don't think I've eaten a doughnut in over a year, so doughnut shops don't usually catch my attention, but the sign was so chic I had to see what this place was about! The shop is spacious and had a decent selection of doughnuts. I got three doughnuts to go: red velvet, praline pecan and cherry bomb. The cherry bomb was .99 cents and the other two were $1.89 a piece. They wrapped it all up in a super cute brown cake box with the "Frost" logo on it with pink tissue paper inside. Can you say CUTE packaging? This is the type of packaging you expect at cake shops- not a doughnut shop, so a plus+ for that. As far as taste goes, the red velvet was incredible!!! It was so good and would rival a red velvet cake any day. The doughnut had a nice rich, chocolaty taste and the cream cheese frosting complemented the red doughnut quite well. This was definitely my favorite of the three and is such a unique flavor for a doughnut. The cherry bomb came in second and was very yummy! Had a nice cherry flavor. The praline pecan which I thought would be my favorite was the least tasty. The brown-sugar praline topping did not have too much flavor, but I will have to say, they definitely did not skimp on the pecans...... the top was loaded with nuts. Needless to say, even though I am not a fan of doughnuts, I will definitely frequent Frost for a special treat here and there. Now alot of reviewers have mentioned about the price of the doughnuts and yes- they do cost more than the sub-par ones at grocery stores, but it is then again a gourmet doughnut shop. People think nothing of paying $5+ for a scoop of ice cream, $3+ for a cupcake at specialty shops.... so why not $1.89 for a super special doughnut? I had never heard of this place, until I saw somebody carrying a box of Frost Donuts in the elevator at my work building. The smell and their fancy donut box caught my attention. *_* And so I immediately asked for the location and the name, and Googled it. Before I made a drive from Bellevue to Mill Creek, I wanted to make sure that this place was worth trying. I visited their website: www.frostology.com and was wowed by the selections they had, and loved the idea that they had different, special donuts everyday. I was a little surprised when I walked in, because 1) the place was a bit smaller than I thought 2) what happened to all the donuts on shown on the website? They had about 10 different donuts in the shop, compared to more like 100 different donuts on their website. Nonetheless, they did have some out-of-the-ordinary donuts which I love to try as always. I bought the Mexican-Chocolate donut, Double-Chocolate with Chocolate Chip donut and some Maple donut holes. They turned out to be very good choices! The donuts definitely tasted different from your average donuts. Smooth texture and VERY YUMMY I can't quite describe. Donut Holes were definitely extraordinary and best of them all. Came here because we happened to be in the area (and also because one of my friends hates herself whenever she goes here to get donuts). I do like the decor, it's seem like a great shop to sit down and enjoy a donut and other baked foods. The donuts were good - nothing that made them super spectacular or set them apart from other donut places i've tried. We got an assortment of bacon maple bars, regular maple bars, peanut butter perfection, and a matcha lemongrass donut. Out of those ones i tried, i did like the matcha lemongrass. I also got super excited to see that they had macaroons there. I was disappointed with them though because they barely had any filling in them. Frost is a good spot to pop in for a quick pastry or cake dessert/snack whenever you're in Mill Creek Town Center. They have a few other locations in the area as well, including their relatively new location in Lincoln Square in Bellevue. I don't know if it's their first, but this location has been around for many years and is a staple of Mill Creek Town Center. The store looks deceivingly small from the outside. On the inside, it is spacious, with lots of tables and a clean, light, open atmosphere. The display cases are huge and lined with a large variety of donuts, cupcakes, pastries, and macarons. Huge racks for pastry cooling line the back of the counter, and the employees are usually professional and friendly. I've been here many times and tried a bunch of things. In general, I prefer their donuts to their other desserts. The raised donuts are very large and generous with the frostings/toppings. The cake donuts are smaller, but not too heavy, and well-balanced in terms of sweetness. Their pastries and cupcakes are okay, but the cake/pastry part is often a little overly dry, with icings/frostings that don't particularly impress. I'm personally not the biggest fan of macarons in general, but I've had them from Frost and I think they are generally pretty good. One thing I like about Frost is that they're constantly experimenting with new flavors and combinations. It doesn't always work out for the best, but I appreciate that adventurousness. On my most recent visit, I grabbed a few different donuts, including their classic Butterfinger Blast (a glazed donut topped with chocolate icing with crushed Butterfinger), a blueberry cake donut, and one of their experimental flavors, "Blueberry Pancake," which was a blueberry cake donut topped with a maple glaze. Really enjoyed all three flavors. The Butterfinger Blast is a personal favorite of mine. Overall, Frost is definitely worth going out of your way at least once if you love dessert pastries/cakes. I have a SERIOUS DOUGHNUT problem! Yes, I am a recovering addict. There was a time when I would nightly frequent the 24 hour donut establishment in any-town USA for 2 or 3 of the fried beauties nightly. These days, I refrain from such eating excess except for special occasions. This standout place is over in Mill Creek which is a bit north of Seattle. In my opinion this place is better than the boutique doughnut shops around here. I've had this place bookmarked for a while so when I finally got here, naturally I got a dozen. I needed to get a good sampling of the flavors right?! the breakdown: smokey bacon maple bar: yes, this puppy is reminiscent of the maple bacon bar from Voodoo doughnuts down in Portland. The Frost doughnut version does crumble the bacon a bit more for more even sprinkling over the yummy maple frosting. HMmmm yummy! Aztec chocolate: sort of chocolate cake donut with dark chocolate shavings on top with some other spicey notes like cinnamon. Not what I expected but interesting. Marcona and Almond & Tart Bismark: Oh snap! This one was AMAZING! Sort of jelly donut on steroids. Whole almonds atop this amaretto icing capped masterpiece filled with actual almond flavored chopped cherries. WOW.... Raised glazed donut: A standard classic. In my opinion, important to make sure that a donut place has mastered the basics before they branch out into 'funky' flavors. Frost has got this classic perfected! German chocolate cake: Insane amount of coconut and pecan topping. So filling! Other stuff I got but couldn't try yet due to carb overload: 24 hour carrot cake Lemon Bismarck cinnamon Twist Bourbon pecan I was told by a trusted source that the peanut butter and red velvet are also very good. I wish their hours would accomadate the donut eaters circadian rhythm, meaning late late night. Unfortunately they close fairly early at 8pm. Also, I gather that some of their doughnuts would be tastier if fresh out of the oven. We got there at 630pm so I the donuts probably weren't as fresh as they could have been. The hubby and I went to Frost for the first time. And I don't think we will be back due to the price. Two doughnuts and two coffees cost $17 dollars! That is coo coo crazy. I guess I should have expected it walking in there - it looked like it should be in Beverly Hills. It is obviously going for super high end fried dough. And there was so much staff standing around waiting to help. But everyone was very nice while we tried to decide what to get. But none of the doughnuts even looked that good to me. I was only in the place for a minute, but I could tell that the staff was super friendly. Big smiles and friendly "how can I help you's" even in this busy holiday season. I am very thankful that I didn't have to choose my own doughnut because I think I would still be there trying to decide. What I had: Their Bismark was fluffy and delish with the perfect amount of Bavarian cream in the middle. I also had a bite of the bacon maple bar. Yep...bacon...maple bar. I was so excited to try Frost when they joined the Doordash delivery service. Caramel is my all-time favorite no matter what it's in or on, so when I saw they make a salted caramel old fashioned doughnut I couldn't wait to try it. We have treats on Fridays at work and, since it was my turn and I wanted the salted caramel doughnut, I decided to splurge and get 15 donuts from Frost rather than the 1-1/2 dozen I usually pick up from the doughnut shop up the road from work. BIG MISTAKE! Instead of the $16 I usually spend, Frost came to $44 before taxes and service charge/tip...$55.00 altogether for some of the worst doughnuts I've ever had. First, they were stale. We had them delivered at 10am, so they still should have tasted fresh. I think because a delivery service picked them up and they didn't have a customer standing there ordering, that they got day old doughnuts out and put them in a box. Second, they tasted like they'd been cooked in dirty oil. I tried the salted caramel, the bacon maple bar and something else and they all tasted the same, like dirty cooking oil. With Lummi Island and then Vancouver in our sites the next stop on our travels would be Mill Creek, Washington - home of Frost Donuts and their frequently rotating menu of "evolved" donuts. With traffic light and the weather for once not raining the drive from downtown Seattle would be a swift one and although a bit off the highway we managed to find Frost with minimal difficulty in the middle of a bustling outdoor mall and making our way in the door were met first with a bit of surprise as a large pile of empty boxes came tumbling over the counter, but then by the smell of fresh pastries and coffee - the best smell I know. With two groups in front of us and only one cashier working as the other was collecting boxes and then bringing fresh, hot donuts from the kitchen we weighed our options and upon realizing that a half dozen would garner me a free medium Victrola coffee (as well as a discount) we opted for a half dozen that were carefully hand selected by a friendly youngster named Steven who boxed them up, poured the surprisingly smooth cocoa and caramel nuanced coffee, and collected the modest tab of $8.99 before bidding us a thank you and good night and happy New Year. With plenty of time between our departure from Mill Creek and our dinner on the island our progression through Frost's treasure box of treats would begin with the classic (and still warm) Raised and Glazed, a light and yeasty donut that ranks along with Donut Vault as the best I've ever tasted and a perfect rendition of a "classic" from a place that seems to focus on anything but. Moving next to the more esoteric selections the Butterfinger Blast would both present similarly to the first in that they were both yeasted raised donuts with a light interior and soft buttery notes, but taking a total different direction the toppings in this situation was a dense chocolate and crunchy Butterfinger crumbs - a step up from a simple glaze if you ask me. Moving on to the other selections a trio of cake donuts would follow in the Bourbon Caramel Pecan, Red Velvet, and Cherry Bomb - each delicious with the vanilla cake donut and salty caramel with notes of booze being my favorite of the trio while my aunt raved about the dense cocoa an smooth cream cheese on the red velvet and the others particularly enjoyed the still warm and fresh vanilla cake donut speckled with cherries and cherry glaze before moving on to the last creation, a Banana Cream and Walnut Bismarck absolutely stuffed with thick Bavarian cream and chopped cooked bananas beneath the same dense chocolate as the Butterfinger plus toasted walnuts - yet another donut well worth the drive for those looking for a unique donut and all things being equal a better selection and better bargain than Top Pot. read more

I will say this, I am not a big donut fan but ever since seeing the maple bar with bacon on it on the food channel... its been on my list of things to try. One of their most popular is the maple bacon bar. It's a bar with maple icing and bacon! Delicious! Usually, when people think of donuts, a cheap, filling, delicious treat is what comes to mind. I think Frost Doughnuts is moving away from that idea. While the donuts here are great, they're not like the nondescript ones you might imagine moving along a conveyor belt in a giant factory. You can tell just by looking at these donuts the amount of care that is put into making each one. I think that's saying a lot for a modest donut shop, and they definitely need to open up more locations outside Mill Creek. You can expect every individual piece here to be finely-crafted and of a higher quality than pretty much any donut you can find elsewhere. I like to think that Frost does for donuts what See's does for candy. These are not just your ordinary, run-of-the-mill (pun not intended) donuts. The price of these donuts is just about the only complaint I could have with them, but they're somewhat appropriate for what you're paying for. The donuts here are simply works of art. They're beautiful and taste just as good as they look. It's too bad I don't like to give five stars to food that I know to be so unhealthy. But look beyond that and you'll find a wide array of creative, colorful donuts here. Frost has really covered all the bases; if you've seen it somewhere before, it's probably here as well. Even some flavors you've probably never imagined can be found here. A particularly interesting case is the Southern Red Velvet, which is topped with cream cheese frosting. It shows remarkably well how to take donuts, do something innovative with them, and have an outstanding final result. People seem to like this place for the Smokey Bacon Maple Bar, so I had to be sure to try it out. As amusing as I find the idea, I don't see the point. As if donuts weren't fattening enough already, they had to top them off with bits of shredded bacon. The maple part of course is going to be the dominant flavor here, so the bacon as an add-on seems like just a novelty item. That's not an intrinsic flaw of the donut itself; it's just that adding all that bacon seems meaningless if you don't taste it that much. Maybe they would benefit from being whole strips of bacon like the kind that Voodoo Doughnut offers. It's quite an enjoyable treat, although it's obviously not for you if you're really careful about what you eat. One of my favorites is the Bavarian Crème Bismarck. While at first sight it appears to be of average size, its volume is deceptive because it feels surprisingly heavy when picked up. All that creamy goodness inside contributes to most of its density, and a chocolate covering on the donut completes the taste. Yet the donut as a whole is not that sweet, but it's one of their "premium" donuts at $1.49, so I couldn't help but try a bunch of them. Definitely one of the best donuts I've ever had, although I can't tell how accurately these represent the entirety of the selection at Frost. They're so expensive and there are so many of them that it seems like an impossible task to sample each one on a reasonable budget. But if my limited experience was any indicator of how delectable the remaining donuts are, then it is apparent that Frost Doughnuts is first-rate among donut shops. read more

Checked in and used my free coffee drip of any size coupon special while munchin' on delicious donuts goodness !! So fresh and so BOMB!!! it has poke stop right outside so that was fun coming with my nieces and a great location to walk around or seated there. I went into the shop for a baby shower cake consultation. The woman I met with was very nice and grabbed everything for me. I felt bad I didn't finish the cupcake she let me try to help decide my flavors but the icing wasn't my favorite. She was very thorough with giving me pricing and letting me know how the process works. All around she was amazing! I'm excited to see my cake! When I was there I also picked up two doughnuts to try. I got the glazed and chocolate with sprinkles. Both were really good but the chocolate icing one was a bit dry. To be fair I did buy it around 1p, so it wasn't morning fresh. The store as a whole is super cute and clean. Everything is a bit pricey but the baked goods seemed to be made of good quality. Also the employees were really friendly and helpful. Pretty yummy! Came here for Father's day 2015 and ordered maple bacon bars which were over the top salty and way too sweet. There was no balance. But the saving grace was the macarons and customer service! Come here early as they get really busy! Very clean, and very friendly! They have a vast selection of goodies and they did not disappoint. Parking can get tricky as this is a very interesting shopping center. If you're lucky you'll get one of the spots right outside the actual bakery! Seating is plenty and the ambiance is very nice! I typically don't write reviews. They are definitely COVID conscious but little thing still slip through. I would suggest to practice using kitchen tong to pick up doughnut instead with hand with gloves. My last trip the helper didn't change gloves after helping me check out. Imagine if my credit card is dirty or if I am unknown or asymptotic carrier that whatever is on my credit card is pass on to the doughnut. Other then that my experience has been great and love their doughnut. The next time I visit I would ask the helper to use a tongs to pick up doughnut. read more

We've been going to Frost since they opened a year ago, and have only nice things to say about this gem of a shop in Mill Creek Town Center. My husband and son are crazy about the Peanut Butter Perfection (or as my four year old calls it, Peanut Butter Infection). My favorites are the Marcona Almond Tart Cherry Bismark and the traditional Bavarian Cream Bismark. Everything we've tried from their thoughtful and inventive menu has been great. I love that frost is located in the town center, I get to walk off all the calories ;'D. The donuts taste light an perfectly flavored, not too heavy or too light. I think they actually have the best donuts.The macarons were alright, they look pretty but dont taste so pretty. Kind of too chewy with strong bold flavors instead of smooth fresh tasting. The cafe bakery is pretty big with high ceilings, its super cute and bright inside. I see many people of all ages come for meetings and hangouts with a side of sweets and coffee. read more

Popped in here late afternoon on a Thursday with my 3 kiddos and a craving for the sweet doughy goodness that Frost delivers. Their store is beautiful and spacious. We ordered 4 doughnuts and an americano with cream. The americano came out with room and I was handed cream. I added and went back to my table. Snapped a pic, answered a text, grabbed napkins and then took my first sip. Yowza. Burnt my tongue. After it cooled down, the americano was drinkable but a bit watery. The kids enjoyed their doughnuts, but I could tell mine, a Salted Caramel Old Fashioned, had been sitting in the case a while. So, if I come back it'll probably only be in the morning and I'll bring my own coffee or order with A LOT of room and keep the lid off for a while. read more

So my friend and I made a plan to come here on a Wednesday night which was our first mistake (I had looked at the menu and knew what I wanted to try), our second mistake was shooting to make it there before 8pm (when they close). We got a smidge lost and ended up there 5 minutes before close and our options for donuts were slim pickings. Naturally we chose to get a dozen donuts and we just chose one of everything. After purchase we sat in the car and literally scarfed down the whole box, yes we ate around half a dozen donuts a piece in a 10 minute span. A lot of the donuts tasted like regular run of the mill donuts. However! The salted caramel doughnut was delicious! I saved it for last and even though I had a slight tummy cramp, I still was able to shove that little baby in my mouth. I really wanted to try the white chocolate raspberry, maple bacon bar, and red velvet. Maybe if I can pull my ass out of bed on a day off I'll be able to make it there. read more

Located 10 minutes from the freeway in a small strip mall. The donut shop is surprisingly big and it was very clean. Me and my friends got a dozen and split it amongst ourselves. I had the French toast and butterfinger donut. My French toast donut was more like a maple bar with some cinnamon flavor. It was still a good donut but I guess I was expecting something else. The butterfinger donut is exactly what it sounds like/ expect; a donut with butterfinger candy on top of it. The donut shop is a nice place to catch up with people. I absolutely loved there white chocolate raspberry a friend bought me when I came to visit 2 weeks ago, so you know when I came to lynwood today had to hit Frost again....
