Partner: "Decent burger, good service": bacon cheeseburger + fries = 4 stars Medium human: cheeseburger + fries + Oreo shake = 4 stars "I thought the burger was kinda gross." Tiny human: cheeseburger + dipped cone = 4 stars "The burger was good"

This, believe it or not, is a size "medium"! It was gigantic! But sadly didn't taste good

5 stars for service 4 stars for food like their burgers 4 stars for their old-timey ambiance 2 stars for their soft serve ice cream -the taste for me is 1 star. I LOVE soft serve and had loved the old Mariposa Frost Shop and Robert's Frosty in Coarsegold - both of which have had delicious tasting chocolate and vanilla soft serve -Unfortunately, Frosty in this more northern mountain community does NOT use the same soft serve. The soft serve ice cream they use here is chalky tasting and severely lacking in flavor. My chocolate did not taste chocolatey at all. Which is a shame considering the portion sizes are GIGANTIC! (Hence the bonus star for their generosity) I ordered a medium and it was as if they gave me a XXXL triple extra large! Literally the ice cream cone was at least 12" tall, actually slightly larger than a ruler when you include the cone! That would have been amazing if it tasted good, but sadly because it tasted so bad, I threw the majority away. Sad!! So come here for their food and old-timely ambiance but AVOID their soft serve ice cream (unless you don't care about your 'taste to calorie ratio' and will just eat any ol type of sweets)

Perfect place for a cheap soft serve ice cream! I of course got a swirl of chocolate and vanilla. There is plenty of seating on benches out front. Easy parking and a clean bathroom. Couldn't ask for more!

The fries at the frosty are always so fantastic. I love getting a good pineapple milkshake and fries. The corn dog bites are phenomenal. I love this place. The license plates on the walls are so cool. The food always comes out super fast.

This place is a Jamestown institution, and I'm so glad it's still around. Been coming here for over 30 years and it's always been the best treat on a hot day in a charming setting. I recently had a chocolate shake and fries which were both great and great service as well. The inside has booths otherwise you order outside and pickup food from the window.

Perfect spot for a frosty treat on a hot day! Delicious soft serve. Chocolate dip for the win! The small is giant! Great value. We stopped here both coming and going to our mountain vacation. Only tried dessert, but they have savory options as well. Small parking lot in the back.

Food was good ordered 2 burgers and some side for $40. Servings size was good and food was made at a reasonable time. Staff were friendly and we did enjoy our selfs. Will come back to try more items.

This place is an iconic landmark in Jamestown. Their prices are on the higher end but the portions are very generous! I got a small swirled chocolate and vanilla frosty for about $4.00. That's a great deal! It's the other food that is overpriced in my opinion. $10 for a hamburger for example. Not a combo meal, just the hamburger. This was a perfect treat as it was over 100 degrees today and this hit the spot! I highly recommend this place for it's frosty! If your in the area you must stop by for a frosty. I didn't get a milkshake but saw others who did. $5 for small (about 12-14 ounces) and $7 for a large (about 22-26 ounces). They looked good too! I didn't see anyone eating the food though I did see one couple get a bag of food to go.

    Cheeseburger and waffle fries... yummmm.

Tried this place out since new owners took over and loved it. Will be back often. About the same price as the fast food joints but way better!

Warm day- medium chocolate frosty! Huge! And tasty!

Great food, convenient location, covered picnic benches, lots of locals and travelers. Fast friendly service! We enjoy this place. You can customize everything: cheese, double or single, and add extras. For drinks- loads of lemonades plus fruit add ins. Don't forget the ice creams- chocolate or / and vanilla - swirls small... to large. Nice place to enjoy a good meal and then head home with a smile!

We were strolling through old Jamestown, enjoying the old buildings and reading the historic clamper plaques. We visited an old little Black smith/railroad museum, then tried to visit the old jail next to it but unfortunately some homeless addicts have made it their drug lair. But luckily we stumbled upon this adorable ice cream and burger place. It had the old time feel Of a fosters freeze with a walk up window and outdoor picnic tables. My daughter was excited when we saw people eating these gigantic soft serve ice cream cones. Of course we had to order the large and also a Pepsi freeze. Both were so delicious. I will definitely be back to Frosty but not so sure about the jail. I really did want to check out that historical monument but at least we found delicious ice cream

Stopped here on my way to Yosemite and waited ~30 min for it to open just so I could try it. NOT WORTH IT! Burger was not memorable. Family members that got the smash burger said it tasted chemically... like cleaning chemicals. Disgusting. The only good thing was the truffle fries with the garlic aioli. The first couple bites of aioli were really good, but then it just got too mayonnaise-y. And, overall, they were no better than any other truffle fries that I've had. Mac & cheese was not good at all. The penne noodles were chewy, like they had been frozen. Cheese sauce didn't taste good. It was all on the pricier side as well, especially for what you get. Service was slow. I asked for extra containers so that we could share the Mac and cheese. The worker hesitated to respond, seemed like they wanted to say no, but then reluctantly gave me two cups/bowls. Why are they sooo stingy here?? Also, no free water cups?! They make you pay for water. Glad I brought my own water.

However, I Visited on Mother's Day with my daughter and sister and had a completely different experience. I have a gluten allergy, one daughter has gluten sensitivity, and my other daughter has celiac disease. We informed our waitress that we needed gluten-free options and were told they were out of gluten-free buns but had gluten-free sourdough. After double-checking, the chef confirmed it was gluten-free. Something didn't seem right, so we asked to see the packaging. Wheat was listed as an ingredient. Thankfully, we caught the mistake before eating it. Unfortunately, when our food arrived, two of the gluten-free meals were still served with gluten-containing items, including a flour tortilla and the same bread we'd already identified as not gluten-free. The food itself was actually delicious, and I wish I could leave a more positive review based on that alone. However, for anyone with celiac disease, a gluten allergy, or a serious gluten sensitivity, accurate ingredient information is not optional--it's a health and safety issue. The repeated errors from both the kitchen and serving staff were extremely disappointing and left me with little confidence in their ability to safely accommodate gluten-free guests.

We came for an early lunch on a Monday on our way back to the city from visiting Yosemite. They offer breakfast and lunch options. All the food taste fresh and the prices were reasonable. All of us ordered different burgers with a side of our choice. I had the hot and spicy burger which was topped with jalapeño, pepper jack cheese and salsa. It was not that spicy but had good flavor. The salsa was a bit messy so I probably wouldn't get it again. For my side I had the sweet potato fries and wish they were more crispy. I enjoyed the regular fries off my husband's plate more. I also had a taste of the coleslaw which was also good. The burger itself was cooked well but not dry. We all shared the cheesecake for dessert which was thick and creamy just as you expect. I also had the fresh lemonade which was refreshing but could have more lemon flavor in it. Overall we all enjoyed our food and would recommend visiting.
