I was craving an açaí bowl and found this place pretty close to my work. The parking lot is a little confusing to get into, if you are driving down Anton from the direction of South Coast Plaza the entrance is just past the building, do not turn before the building or you will go into some business parking lot that you have to pay to park in. Went with the Super Açaí bowl which has soy protein, soy milk, banana, strawberry, blueberry and açaí. It is massive, I've gotten it for lunch at least three times. It's definitely enough food for me, makes you feel great and is really a shot of energy in the middle of the day. I would like to try some of the other bowls but I always end up ordering this still! They have smoothies as well, if you couldn't tell by the name. They have lots of healthy snack options there too, like baked chips, protein bars etc. And you can order over the telephone, which is what I normally do on the drive over, save a little bit of time. read more

Refreshing and healthy! This place is starting to become my daily juicery. They have a good variety of juices and smoothies and you can customize your juice if its not on the menu. I usually replace everything that has celery which is not my fave to drink (its so bitter) with cucumber to get a lite and airy refreshing taste. Since its been super hot I ask for extra ice and they always put it in a bigger cup which shows that when I order a 24 oz of juice it still will be a 24 oz of juice even tho I added extra ice. My two fave juices? The Big Green and Pineapple King. They also have those power shakes for all the gym fanatics who need the extra boost in protein and energy to build those muscles and keeps you from telling yourself you can only walk on the treadmill. The price may seem high for juice but if you went to the grocery store to get the amount of ingredients it takes to make the juice and add in the time it will take to clean your juicer it will forgo that the price on your juice. It's a great way to add that kick of nutrients into your body without having to make sure each of your meals has enough veggies in it...it sure does beat having to remember to take all those vitamin pills you have shoved in your drawer. This review is long overdue; however, well deserved. I go to Fruithies at least once a week (their location is across from my office's complex). I love their flavor combinations -smoothies and acaí bowls. They are definitely better than any other place around (chain or small business). If, for any reason, you're not satisfied with your order, they will make it right (there have been times I've asked for sweeter or whatnot because a fruithie tasted differently than I expected). On a personal note, Miguel, Brenda and Tony are now like good friends. They are, without a doubt, awesome. They're cheer in my day, and their customer service is second to none. I went here once recently for the first time. LOCATION: It's in Costa Mesa, in a little center. If you go there, try to get there going east on Anton Blvd, and then make sure you just pass Sakioka Dr, and then, right away, you should see a path to turn into the center on your right. This way, you avoid hitting gates that lead to businesses. 3/5 ATMOSPHERE: It's kind of small inside, and it's really nothing special. It reminds me of a knock off of a Jamba Juice. They only have two tables inside, with two chairs each. And it was busier than I expected when I went, so I had to stand while waiting for my order. It wasn't a big deal, but just thought I'd mention that. Although, there might have been some seats outside, but I'm not certain. 2/5 SELECTION: They have smoothies, juices, acai bowls, etc., and they have a open fridge thing with some already prepared foods that you can grab. 3/5 WHAT I GOT: I got their Original Acai Bowl without honey (bc why would you want to eat bee vomit?). Overall, it was better than I expected, but not like one of the best acai bowls I've ever had (and I've had a lot). First off, it was slightly bigger than I thought it'd be. I mean it was basically a normal size for an acai bowl, but from looking at pictures beforehand, they looked smaller than normal acai bowls, but they really weren't. The taste of it was fine. I could definitely taste the peaches in the mix, which was very unique to put in an acai bowl blend. But I could also taste the other fruits too, and I liked how they didn't mask the acai flavor. I could still tell it was an acai bowl, and not just a smoothie bowl with a hint of acai. The bowl's texture was mostly smooth, and I liked that it was pretty thick. The major downside though was that it wasn't thoroughly blended. There were little chunks of peaches and I could see the specks of blueberries (although the blueberries being like this didn't make it have a weird texture, which is good). It wasn't that bad though -- I've had worse acai bowls where there's been chunks of frozen acai puree, or bowls where it's not properly blended, and so the texture is all messed up. But obviously, the blending still needs improvement because I still didn't appreciate the chunks. Anyways, on to the toppings, the granola was fine, and had a pretty good crunch. And the banana on top was pretty good too. I saw the girl cutting it up and I loved seeing a spotty, ripe banana being used. And it tasted good too. Plus, it was more than just a couple slices, making it better than some other places where I've gotten acai bowls that only had banana as the fruit topping, and it seemed like they only put a few measly slices. 3/5 SERVICE: The service was pretty good. The guy who took my order seemed friendly, and the girl who made my bowl and gave it to me was very courteous. And I waited a very reasonable amount of time for my bowl, considering the amount of other customers there, which was again, more than I expected. 4/5 read more

I can't say enough how much I love this place. I work right down the street and it is SO INSANELY easy to order my smoothie online as I leave work and then by the time I get there it's always ready. The staff are super friendly, they even say hello to me by name whenever I come in and who wouldn't feel super special when that happens. My only bummer would be I wish they had a few more options that were dairy free, but that being said I'm sure the awesome stuff wouldn't hesitate to make a dairy free version if I asked. read more

Wow! I love this place. We recently moved in across the street. I've seen this place while getting my coffee next door many times. Tried this place today and my mine was blown!!! I've never had an açaí bowl; but decided to try that. Their menu is very extensive and had many different options available. All of the items looked fresh, healthy, and delicious! I got the Nutty Açaí Bowl. This was a blend of PB, açaí, blueberries, bananas, and granola with a tiny bit of honey. It was refreshing, super tasty, and super filling. I wasn't even hungry until dinner. My partner got the berry açaí bowl, and was just as yummy! Staff was super friendly and fast. The shop was very clean inside. The big green is very strong here and I added some ginger. The taste is ok, but it definitely makes me feel vitamin loaded. Large 32 oz is way too large, especially after a big lunch. Amazing orange is probably the best taste among all. You can taste the sweet of carrot & orange. read more

This place is the best! I've been looking for a good green smoothie in the area for awhile, and I've tried most of the places in Costa Mesa. Fruitthies is now my regular go-to place. The staff is super friendly, and the drinks are delicious. I get a gigantic cup of Green Monster smoothie about twice a week, and today I tried a pitaya bowl. YUM! Sometimes I wonder: am I really super spoiled because I live in San Francisco? I mean, look at these "fresh-pressed organic juice shops" that are a dime a dozen. Look at The Plant Cafe or Frapeez in the Castro; their smoothies are all fresh fruit, no added sweetness (unless you want to add honey or something). So going to a juice bar (besides Juice It Up or Jamba Juice), my expectations were that I would get juice or a smoothie made from fresh fruit. Then I head to Fruitthies for a quick smoothie breakfast the day before my wedding, and the sweetness of the frozen fruit and whatever juice or milk they use is just super overwhelming. I actually thought I'd totally made a mistake and gone to a Jamba Juice (wedding mode put me in somewhat of a robotic state). Disappointing, but I won't give it fewer than 3 stars because I would give it another chance with their acai bowls, as it seems most everyone is raving about that. Its such a blessing to me because now i dont have to drive 15 mins to Whole Foods in Tustin. This place is a hidden gem for juice lovers in Costa Mesa! I usually get the various blends of fruit and veggie juices here. I am a veggie juice lover so I would recommend the spinach storm or the big green. First time coming to Fruitthies and it was super delicious! It's a little tricky finding the parking lot but be sure to not go into the business gated parking. Frutthies parking is shared with Starbucks and Quiznos. The parking lot is really small but you'll manage to find a spot. When I first walked in the workers were extremely friendly and inviting. They have many options for smoothies, juices, acai bowls and pitaya bowls. Their prices are the same as other smoothie places. And acai bowls start at $5.50. I got the guava pineapple smoothie and it was amazing because it was perfectly thick and not watery at all. Didn't have that powder taste like other smoothie places. You can also add one supplement (boost) into your smoothies for free. My friend got the acai banana smoothie and that was superb as well. Would definitely recommend coming here and I'll be back tomorrow for their bowls! read more

Compared to the other juice bars and acai bowl places this place is not up to par. When you walk in it looks like a rip off of Jamba Juice. The man taking my order was rude. And they use frozen fruits for the blend instead of fresh. Pretty disappointing. Especially for the price I paid. They charge for added fruits 50-60 cents each. And he gave me soy milk instead of almond like I asked. Overall it tasted average, doesn't compensate for the size and price I paid. Won't go back. Go to Nekter people.
