I was in the immediate area today and I stopped in Frutta Bowls to grab an acai bowl to-go. Because why not eat cold fruit on a sub-zero temperature day? That's how I roll! I've visited this location several times and it's consistently "meh". Nary a friendly greeting to be had, day nor night. I hate places that make me feel like they're doing me a favor. It's just uncomfortable. I've only had the Frutella bowl (granola, banana, strawberry, Nutella, peanut butter, and coconut flakes). They are always skimp with the acai and it's often watery. The fruit is fresh (as it should be) but they aren't generous with the serving size. I think they forgot to add the Nutella today. There was no trace of it whatsoever. Come to think of it, I barely tasted any peanut butter either! I don't understand why every time I order in person, customers who place their order after me always receive theirs ahead of me. I tried Frutta bowls for the first time yesterday since they were doing a discount bowl day for their anniversary. Their small bowls are normally $9.99 and yesterday they were $7. The girls in the shop seemed miserable and were not friendly at all even though no one was there at the time. On the keypad there were only options for tipping 15, 20, 22% or other. I choose other but you had to enter in some tip amount, there was no option to skip which was bizarre. When I received the bowl, there was less than an inch of the açaí and it was very watered down. Açaí at other bowl shops is normally a frozen consistency. The bowl was majority of toppings and no açaí. I was very disappointed in the size and quality of the bowl and won't be back for anymore bowls from here. read more

Visited Marlton at Sagemore location yesterday. Avoid at all costs. Very filthy. Upon entering, the mat was embedded with dirt. Windows grimy. One beat up old menu with who knows what on it. I was meeting a friend there, if not for that, I surely would have left. The food was meager and missing some ingredients that were indicated on the store menu. My friend's bowl was also missing some fruit which she didn't realize until she begun to eat and they brought out a small portion of fruit that was missing from her bowl. I used to go here since it's opening however not any longer. No quality control. The fox is watching the hen house here. Not worth the cost and risking your health. The beverage selection was non-existent. They only offer bottled water for sale and no longer kombucha or other drinks. This place went down hill. No napkins in napkin holders. This place is super trendy with their acai bowls and fancy toast, and honestly it's delicious. I love how they have gluten-free options! I got their PB&J bowl with the gluten free granola, it was a really big portion and the flavors were all really good. I could have used more PB, but I feel like that's a universal opinion anytime PB is involved. I also got the toast with goat cheese on gluten-free bread to split with my fiance, it was superrr tasty and I am definitely open to trying their other toasts. It is kind of pricey, but I feel like that's kind of expected in these sort of trendy places. The first time I went here it was amazing. That was a year ago. My Frutella bowl was filled to the brim with lots of delicious fruits and plenty of Açaí. But each time after that I got less and less Açaí and more and more bananas. So I switched to the muscle bowl and it just keeps getting worse. I totally agree with other negative comments regarding the customer service: the customer service in this store is ridiculously horrible!!! I would give zero star if I can. They told me that they would call my name when the food is ready, so I was sitting in the sofa away from the pickup counter. Turns out they just left my order on the pickup counter WITHOUT BOTHERING TO SAY ANYTHING to notify me. When I walked into the store, there was no other customer, but I was waiting for more than 15 minutes until I found my bowl silently left on the counter. I went in there to order a regular açai bowl with just strawberries,Nutella and granola. I leave the store in my bowl is 75% granola. There is absolutely no açaí very very little I would say like maybe 15 or 20% of the bowl... I let it go and go to my car to eat the bowl and realize the base is completely frozen. I go back in the store frustrated and ask for a refund or for them to remake it. They refuse to do either I just left and I'm completely unhappy every time I come here I'm disappointed. I have had many different versions and levels of quality. I would say the acai bowls from here are just as good as some of my favorite places in south fl. I have been here a handful of times, none of which were wonderful. They do get a star because if you want a smoothie, this is the closest to natural place (i am not a fan of Smoothie King). I unfortunately had the same experience as other reviewers noted in terms of ingredient portions in my açaí bowl. I got the Frutta Bowl and was disappointed with how little base there was. There was SO much peanut butter, it actually made me kind of nauseas. I wanted something cool and refreshing on a very hot day, so getting essentially a bowl of fruit with a ton of peanut butter and so little smoothie base was not a good experience compared to other locations I've been to. I was excited to try this place and to have a "healthier" alternative than the coldstone here before but... the staff had no idea about any of the ingredients or info when it came to nutritional value. When I asked about what was in their protein balls they legit answered with "protein." Not their fault... They dont have any information on any of their products... apparently the company is still creating that. I was the first person in after they opened. I ordered a smoothie and an acaí bowl and didn't wait more than 5 minutes. The bowl was delicious and my sister liked the smoothie. The staff was friendly and moved quickly. The atmosphere of the place was super fun and comfortable. Sort of felt like hanging out at a friend's house. They have sofas, games, and lots more places to sit. It can be sometimes difficult to hear in there because it's echoey and the TV and music are on. Also I think I read in another review that the workers put the order on the counter without calling the customer's name, and that did happen when I was there so I waited a couple minutes longer than I needed to. Underwhelming. My Fiancé and I came into the store for smoothies. I ordered the Chocolate explosion and it was anything but. What was supposed to be a smooth blend of chocolate protein, banana, Nutella, Pb, and almond milk. Just tasted something like banana water. The drink was so barely blended that we both had large chunks of ice all throughout the smoothie and mine was far from even drinkable. I'm not gonna lie to everyone and say I don't love Frutta Bowls. I love the food, but I mostly appreciate the dedicated workers that are efficient and pristine. I was truly saddened and disgusted to learn that the owner of this establishment does not distribute all of the girls tips, and even worse, picks and chooses what hourly to pay the girls. These girls are the only reason that this business does so well. They show up everyday and serve their customers with passion and care. To hear that this owner is stealing money from them is horrible. The downside is, of course, that this is a healthy lifestyle eatery so they don't carry soda (duh). I've been here more than a couple times to know the açaí base will be frozen hard first thing in the morning. I also know firsthand if you come on a lunch break, you might run late. The wait can become ridiculous during peak hours; proceed with caution. There is a large variety of bowls and smoothies available. The staff is friendly. They accept credit cards and even offer a rewards point system. Pretty cool. What's not cool? The lack of hair nets. Twice, I've witnessed a girls long ponytail dangling above my food. Is it yummy? Yes. Is it expensive? Yes. Do they offer frequent customer incentives? Yes. Are there other healthy food options in the promenade plaza? Yes. Is it worth spending over $20 on two bowls? Debatable. Do I want to spend almost ten minutes waiting for my fruit bowl? Absolutely not. Do I want to worry whether or not I'll get a surprise hair in my food on my next visit?
