Rice Noodle in Fish Fillet w/ Pickled Cabbage Soup.

A quaint little noodle house on a busy street offers delicious food. We had never a hot pot before so our server kindly helped explain how to best enjoy our meal. We each had a hot pot one with beef and another with white fish. The fish was light and delicate. The broth was so rich and had a bit of spice. It was Devine. We also tried crispy tofu and ribs. Yum yum. Yum. Can't say enough about their food. Try it. You'll love it. You'll find the place streaming with a steady flow of friendly customers and take away orders going out the door.

Amazing service! As soon as we walked in, one of the waiters immediately sat us down with a choice of lemon water or hot tea, menus, a spoon, and chopsticks. The food is amazing, well flavored, and plenty hot. The place is well decorated and very clean. They come by every once in a while to refill your water and serve some salted nuts while you wait for your food. Being able to speak Chinese is recommended.

2023 update: Still the place to go for affordable rice noodles! They have a deal where you can get an appetite, noodles, toppings, and a drink for around $20 after tax and tip. There are also choices for different dietary restrictions. Washrooms are downstairs. 2018: Good value: boiling broth, unlimited noodles, and 10 side dishes. From my experience, the broth is quite lean and the noodles are nothing special - it tastes healthy to me for some reason. Clean washrooms

Aside from the typical Chinese service attitude, it's a bit of a fun meal. The showy and not necessary massive tray of cold and raw accompaniments is a little too space consuming (table for 2 is too small for two people). I'm not sure if there's unlimited free noodles, as the waiter asked a few times if I wanted more. If the portion wasn't as big, I would have definitely accepted the offer for more noodles. The broth is amazingly good, and would have downed the whole thing if my stomach was capable of such volume. A little note about my Chinese service experience. It's not a bad thing, assuming you're fine with being told aggressively how to order (as if she's in a rush with only 2 other tables who already have they meals), and then aggressively but in a humorous way to just dump everything in the boiling pot of soup - as if she knows I like everything . May be I elicit such attitude because I come across as hopeless?

Wow this place was great! Quite a few number of options, great prices (especially for a downtown location), very good food, friendly service, and free refills (on rice, noodles, and broth)! I got N10 - the FuDao rice noodle in curry soup ($10.99) and thought the broth was so , finished up all my broth and got a refill for my second bowl of noodles. It comes with the toppings pictured in the menu (pork, corn, mushrooms, etc) as well. The broth was super creamy and delicious and was like liquidized curry sauce made into soup! The prices were great for what you're getting (and I wouldn't even factor the refills into that!) and the food is overall just really good. Only tip is that it'd probably be helpful to have someone who speaks mandarin with you as the staff seemed much more familiar with that. but I really enjoyed my time and meal and would be happy to come back!

    Thai Curry soup base

I simply can not rave enough about this place!! Very good price for the amount and quality of food! This is another place that serves crossing the bridge noodles (a boiling hot broth with toppings on the side that you add into the soup to cook/warm up) with unlimited noodle refills. They have a wide variety of soup bases ranging from original to pickled cabbage to tomato to spicy ones. My personal favourites are the thai curry (not too spicy) and tomato. They are always adding new flavours such as the recent tom yum. Each soup comes with a bowl of rice noodles and 10 toppings with meat. Sometimes the toppings are on rotation but you usually get: a quail egg, corn, black fungas, fish tofu, shrimp, squid/ham/sausage slices, corn, and tofu skin. It is recommended to put in the meat first into the soup to cook it. Most of the toppings are cooked already so it is just reheated in the soup. NOTE: When you receive your plate of toppings, you can ask to switch out a few for other ones instead! TIP: If you go before 5pm, they have a 'lunch' special where you get a soup combo with an appetizer and a pop for $10.99!! Previously their combo was a cold appetizer instead of their hot ones. Side Dishes: For their hot ones, the deep fried cuttlefish balls are my absolute favourite. They come in an amazing sauce as well. The takoyaki is not bad but a little bit too doughy for my taste. I tried the fried tofu but its a bit soggy and too saucy. For their cold ones, I like the garlic cucumber or the duck tongue with seaweed salad. Service: Fast and attentive. They would usually remind you to order quickly as well especially if you are borderline near the cut off time for the lunch special. Overall, YES. Come here and get your noodle fix!

Place: This place is so my favorite! I cannot stress how this is probably a top thing to do in Toronto. Service: The service is pretty good. They are good at providing the necessary things needed for your entrees or what you ordered. Food/price: The food is known for their hotpot and "DIY broths". It is worth your buck because it is really fun making your own soup. There are some dishes where the noodles are all you can eat. SO WORTH Audience: A lot of my friends said that they really love going here when they travel to Toronto. Good for friends or dates! Recommend/tips? I highly recommend this place and the tip would be come when it is not that busy! So not the typical lunch/dinner times.

Came in around 8 PM and it was still quite busy, though the restaurant isn't that big maybe 30-40 seats. Service is pretty good you can see a waitress going around from time to time checking up on water refills. This restaurant specializes in crossing bridge rice noodle soup, which you might have seen with the platter of a ingredients beside a stone bowl of hot broth and a bowl of rice noodles on the side. They have a dozen different soup bases for you to choose from whether you like it spicy, sour, or something light. I ordered the new kimchi soup. It arrived in about 10 minutes, but it was hot and visibly boiling in the bowl. Had a nice flavor; not too salty not too spicy. The soup was quite light in texture, not too much grease, and easy to go down. There's enough soup for two or three refills of noodles if you have a larger appetite. The ingredients provided include a piece of shrimp, mushrooms, chinese sausage, ground meat, sliced meat, and tofu, which is a pretty nice mix. According to the menu they have a daily afternoon special between 2 and 5 where you can get any noodle, a cold dish, and a soft drink for only $10.99 which is pretty nice if you're having a late lunch, or an early dinner.

    Chicken ginseng rice noodles
    Kerry W.

It was one of those evenings when I wasn't up for anything heavy for dinner. My friend suggested ginseng chicken rice noodle soup, and I thought, why not. Something herbal will do me good. And it proved to be the right choice. If you haven't tried chicken ginseng soup, give it a go. Ginseng is supposed to help with your immune system and boost your energy, which is perfect for this chilly autumn evening. My order came within 10 mins. The soup was lightly fragrant with a myriad of flavours that tantalized the tastebud. The soup was light and non greasy, with a touch of bitter sweetness. It was excellent for my sensitive stomach. There were lots of ingredients in the bubbling boiling hot bowl such as vegetables, eggs, chicken, tofu skin etc. I also tried the fried chicken appertizer and tofu, albeit reluctantly at first because I didn't want anything heavy. To my surprise, it wasn't oily and was tasty. I also drank a can of cooling herbal tea that was refreshing... a nice balance to the ginseng soup. Last but not least, the service was exceptional. I like how the server came back with a second bowl of soup to refill. He was very thoughtful. Thank you Fudao for your amazing hospitality. I love how you welcome us and made us feel at home.

Went to Fudao a couple more times since my first review and also ordered takeout during covid. Props to them for really packing as much soup and noodles as they could for their takeout orders (unlike Dagu). I had to split up the order for two meals because there was so much food!

    Pork and pickled vegetables broth.
    Kaori T.

I think I ordered the wrong broth here. I probably would have enjoyed my meal much more but the broth was overpowering, a lot more pungent than I'm used to. But I powered through it and it ended up being good. So point is, don't get the pickled vegetable with pork broth unless you know what you're getting into! I wish I could come here to try more soups. I love the concept: Piping hot soup still boiling as you dip the veggie and other condiments in. Add a few slices of pork and then the noodles as your last bet. Very presentable and affordable!

Totally in love with this place. I always come and order hot pot for my meal and feel really full whenever I finish. I would recommend try hot pot with noodles. When you become a regularly customers, the manager will give u the soy milk for freee. Lol that's what I love from this store. I love the way the manager treat his customers. They're so nice

Came here for lunch on a weekday and quite enjoyed this place. I ordered the original broth with the regular set of 10 ingredients and it was really tasty. It was fun putting in the ingredients one by one and preparing my own meal. And then equally fun to taste each ingredient directly from the soup when it came time to eat it. Though the idea of making your own soup with "10 ingredients" sounds like a fad, I would totally come back as the broth was very flavourful and well worth the price. Definitely recommend !

Sansotei Ramen Review…read more Order: Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen Ambience: Sansotei at union station is more like a quick takeout /food court ramen spot than a sit-down restaurant. It's great if you're grabbing something fast, but the seating area wasn't the cleanest and I had to look around for a table that had been wiped down, which wasn't ideal if I am paying 21$ for a bowl of tonkotsu ramen. Food: I tried the black tonkotsu ramen and it was definitely rich and filling. I liked that you can choose between thick or thin noodles, which is a nice touch. That said, the broth was a bit too rich and salty for my taste and could use something to balance it out, maybe an order or Diet Coke. The meat was good but not as tender as I would like. Sides and Pairing Tip: I'd recommend getting a side of gyoza or even a Diet Coke to help cut through how rich, heavy and salty the ramen feels. Value for Money: It's a good option for a quick meal, but it does feel a little expensive for the experience you're getting for that price. Overall: Great for a fast ramen fix when you're on the go, but maybe not the best choice if you're looking for a more comfortable dine-in experience, or more value for money. 3/5

We decided to walk up to Queen Street to see something we hadn't seen and seemed like a good area with a wide variety of restaurants. I was almost writing this review for the one on Dundas Street, but realized there are a few locations in downtown. Glad I double checked. We walked up along Spadina to Queen, not all the way up to Dundas. We were weighing options, but we were unsure what we wanted and struggled. We almost ended up at another restaurant with live music outside, but we weren't being served and wasn't enthusiastic about their menu. So, we looked at a couple of options. We didn't want Chipotle or Chick Fil-A; I can get that anytime as I live near those in Maryland. Also, I wanted cuisine that was harder to find near where I live. Ultimately, we settled on Mogouyan Hand-Pulled Noodles. After a lot of hunger trying to decide, this ended up being an excellent choice. Server was friendly answering our questions. It was moderately priced. We got their hand-pulled noodles, which was a large bowl, and was delicious with beef, veggies, & plenty of noodles. I also got their Japanese Toki brand whiskey. This was a FINE choice at a reasonable price. We got into some conversation with the server about being from the US and various other topics. This was an excellent experience, highly recommend.

The weather in Toronto this week has been in the 20's and 30's! The restaurant does serve the dodgers when they are in town! If it's good enough for them... I ordered a Canadian whiskey to start off. It was very nice and smooth. I think it was a Sleeman and sons? Not positive but I really liked it! Then the food. I ordered the first roll from every section. There were some repeats which he advised me would happen but I didn't mind! The sushi was so tender and had great flavor. My husband ordered the ribeye steak and that was really really good. I would order that definitely next time and come here again!

I don't usually go for high-end sushi restaurants, but Miku has been on my list for a while, so I was genuinely excited to finally check it out. The restaurant is located on the ground level of an office building, but the moment you step inside the restaurant, everything changes. You go from bright, corporate lighting to a moody, romantic space with soft, dim lighting and a refined, intimate ambiance... it truly feels like entering a different world. Bonus points for the complimentary coat check, which is a huge win during winter when everyone is lugging around massive puffer jackets. We were seated in plush, velvety sofa booths near the bar, with a view of the street, which felt both cozy and upscale. Shoutout to our server, Shintaro, who was phenomenal with his warm, attentive, and energetic service, which made the whole experience even better. We started with drinks: my coworkers ordered sake flights, while I went with their signature cocktail, the kumquat cosmo. It was sweet and citrusy, and exactly what I needed on a Tuesday night after work. For appetizers, we all chose the sushi and sashimi selection, which included 9 pieces of chef-selected sashimi, chef-selected nigiri, and aburi oshi sushi. This was chef's kiss. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, and the sushi and nigiri were perfectly seasoned and sauced, so that we didn't even need soy sauce (though they do have a lovely house-made sweet soy sauce). I ordered the Red Wave Roll just to use their house-made sweet soy sauce... and wow. I've never had sushi that didn't fall apart after biting into it For my main, I went with the roast black cod. It was cooked beautifully, with a tender, slightly chewy texture that was rich but not overwhelming. For dessert, I went with their famously loved green tea opera. It's a small green tea sponge cake layered with matcha buttercream, red bean cream, and a hazelnut wafer crust, paired with a rich, velvety matcha ice cream on the side. Balanced, not overly sweet, and the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, Miku lived up to (and honestly exceeded) the hype. Incredible food, top-notch service, and a beautiful atmosphere.
