During my tour of RC taco shops, I came to this location hopeful. After being in Irvine for almost 3 years, but originally from San Diego, I am just happy to be surrounded with taco shops again. So, I came into this location to see their offerings, and was PROFOUNDLY disappointed. The server was super nice, and the seating was minimal, but serviceable. There was a TV showing a kids movie, but no kids menu? The food was such a major disappointment. I got the "Taquitos Locos" and there is literally nothing "loco" about them. They are flavorless and small for $11, more like an appetizer. No rice & beans, just four small taquitos. My kids got bean & cheese burritos which were a staggering $8 each! They were very small (even for my kids), and had no flavor at all; they did have foil shards everywhere, though. The "mild" salsa was also flavorless, the green was almost nice, but I'm used to a much better blast of lime when having a green salsa, so disappointing. The "hot" was barely zesty, and nowhere in the same world as "hot." My friend got a chicken burrito, and the chicken was very dry. It was the worst food for the biggest waste of money ever. My coworker and I decided to get birria tacos and loaded fries here after work. My dad has catered here before and it's really good. The employees are really nice and gave some recommendations. The place is clean and the menus are easy to read. There's a few tables inside and normally there would be tables outside but it was raining today. Overall I give the loaded fries a 8/10. I liked that they used seasoned curly fries; it elevated the whole meal. I think the only thing I'll suggest is to put less onions because it overpowered the taste. My friend loved the birria tacos, especially the one with cheese. The consome added a nice touch. I hope they stay in Rancho because this is the closest birria by our houses. 100% recommend and will be coming back! read more

Came to check out this place last night, on a random suggestion by Yelp. It did not disappoint. I'll tell you what gave me reassurance the second I stepped into this establishment...the sight of what appeared to be someone's mom, grandmother and/or Tia working in the back kitchen...you know your guaranteed legit, authentic flavors and amazing taste the second you see family working the pots and pans in the back. This was a good spot for a quick Mexican lunch that Yelp lead me to. We hadn't heard of Birria, so the young lady helped us to figure out the menu. We each had a fish taco and the birria shredded beef taco. To drink, we both got their scratch made horchata. I LOVE homemade Horchata and this one reminded me of the horchata I've had on Olvera Street. So good. They also have other agua frescas in pineapple, cucumber, and hibiscus. Pineapple sounds good. It wasn't very busy but our food came fast. I preferred the beef taco over the fish taco because they did some melty cheese grilled voodoo to the tortillas and it was delectable. It's Halloween and I thought let's do something different! We'll grab some food and stay in & handout candy and watch scary movies! I was craving Mexican food and came across this restaurant with great reviews and seemed authentic. We ordered two carne asada-wet burritos and chicken nachos and asked for shredded cheese instead of nacho cheese. Carne asada burrito was very bland. It had rice, beans, meat and very little onion and cilantro. The worst part of this burrito was the meat. I did not like that the meat was so chopped up! Tiny little pieces of carne asada it practically was ground meat. I don't know why they make it this way. Also it was not flavorful, perhaps all that chop took away from the steak type meat. I didn't like the meat at all! It barely had any onion and cilantro which was also disappointing. The "wet burrito" sauce was disgusting too! It tasted like tomato sauce from the can with a little spice!! Usually the red sauce is bomb! Chicken Nachos- again Finley chopped chicken and barely any chicken. A little sprinkle of shredded cheese and tons of onion and cilantro (that should have been in my burrito). Our order was $40 which I don't mind but I do mind when it isn't worth it. The Chile was good, that's it. I would never crave this place, and I feel bad leaving this but I hope the owners make changes as it's a new establishment. read more

Absolutely disgusting. I got a chile relleno burrito, the the chile was ice cold like it just got taken out of the fridge or freezer and thrown into my burrito, and the batter around it was soggy. I tried taking that out and eating the rest of it since it was a $15 burrito but everything else tasted like it has been sitting around all day too. I love coming to this place, every time I come it's always empty so the food service here is faster than usual. Queso birria tacos never miss, always get 3. Ramen Birria is always top tier too. The reason for my rating is the price. You are paying almost $5 per quesabirria and that doesn't include the consome. That is $1 extra. I get it if you are buying one, but throw it in if someone is ordering at least 2 quesabirrias. The service was great, but I don't think we are willing to pay such high prices when there are way more places that charge a significant amount less. read more

Decided to try Fuego for their birria ramen on a cold, rainy day and very happy we did! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Vanessa with a smile and friendly service. We tried their birria ramen, birria quesadilla, al pastor taco, and pineapple and cucumber drinks. Everything was great! The consomme was excellent with generous portions of meat and ramen. The cheese was not flavorful and the tortillas were nothing to talk about, other than that they were drenched in the birria's oil. I understand that quesadillas are very typically oily, but that was just too much. The fries that were not covered by sauce and meat were very crispy, but the ones under the sauce and meat were not.
