I recently attended a graduation party at Fugazzis. It's been a while since my last visit. Parking can be difficult in downtown Visalia, especially on weekends. I think I better increase my effort unless I want to spend my nights in a drive through line. Fugazzis has a pretty diverse menu. Steaks, seafood, salads, pizza. I settled on the beef stroganoff, something I like but never learned how to make. But first, let me talk about the bread and dipping sauce. A cutting board lined with a variety of bread began the meal. An awesome dipping sauce accompanied the bread. I goes beyond the olive oil and balsamic which I also like. I could eat this bread all day long. My stroganoff was equally tasty. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the beef was pretty tender. Excellent. Normally, this would be the end of my review. BUT, I just ate my wife's leftover chicken marsala from Fugazzis. It was AWESOME! It was better than my beef stroganoff. I know what I'm ordering on my next visit. And yes, I'll put up with the parking for food this good. read more

We live 10 minutes away from the takeout location, and yet the food was barely warm. There were no added condiments. The meatballs were crumbly and tasteless. Pasta was mushy and overcooked. We wanted to order pizza but they were out of cheese! Overall, this was the worst takeout ever!! read more

Wife and I went for lunch today. It was quiet with only 4-5 tables seated. Waitress was attentive, and food came out at the proper time. Maybe due to the fact they weren't so busy, idk. My Louisiana Shrimp pasta dish was good, really liked the pasta and the sauce it was in, however, the shrimp were a bit over done, and chewy, and there were only 3 shrimp in the dish, which weren't very good size either. I would expected at least 3 more shrimp for the size they were. Wife enjoyed here Chicken Tequila pasta dish, but didn't realize they put jalapeños in the dish, but she removed them and said it wasn't too spicy. Visited for the first time recently---great place on Visalia's beautiful downtown Main Street. Very friendly greeting when you first walk in, sat at the bar, there was also plenty of seating in two different areas. Had a very good Moscow mule from the happy hour menu and then had delicious fish tacos! Ordered from the app menu but they were just enough for dinner . Great service , very nice bar. Just finished a great lunch at Fugazzi's today. It's been a little while since we've had a meal there and we were not disappointed. We were seated immediately and our server was very friendly and efficient. As always the food was delicious. We were sorry to see that the famous spinach dip was no longer available ( it's been off the menu for awhile but you used to be able to still order it). The coconut shrimp and truffle fries were a good alternative! Big shoutout to the whole Fugazzi team on Main Street Visalia! read more

I was in Visalia for a training session. After we were done training, our trainer took us to lunch. We got there pretty much right when they opened. We were greeted and quickly sat. Server came by quickly and took our drink order. He got one wrong. Then he took our order and didn't write anything down... he didn't get anything wrong! Nicely done. The food came out fairly quick. I ordered spicy chipotle chicken with penne. Not spicy. I thought it was too salty. I had to really drink a lot of iced tea to try to tone it down. The chicken was tender and the pasta was cooked right. Only complaint was that the sauce had way too much salt. Overall it was pretty good but nothing outstanding. read more

We went in to get some tacos without it being super busy than usual. The staff was a little slow and the table sat after us got the same food we ordered well before us. We weren't checked on and when we did receive our food it came out cold. Upon saying it to the staff their only option was for us to wait 30+ minutes again for it to be remade. We love Fugazzi's and have supported them throughout the pandemic. Tonight we ordered the Bistro Steak Salads, unfortunately when they arrived the steaks were burnt. I called the restaurant and spoke with the kitchen manager, Albert, not only did he immediately apologize for the order he then rectified above and beyond our order. Somedays are better than others it's how we react that sets up a positive or negative experience. Today, Albert, was a champion among champs. I am always satisfied when I eat here. Today I ordered the blackened chicken for lunch and it was so good! The sauce wasn't too rich and the chicken was moist and delicious. Voted best restaurant in Downtown Visalia for 10 years in a row! With this in mind, I just had to pay Fugazzi's a visit! ----The Food---- Southwestern Chicken Flatbread Sandwich ($12.50)- BOMB! Salty, sweet, and a kick of rustic boldness can be felt with this sandwich. The juicy, cilantro-limed garlic chicken is complemented with pepper-jack cheese, corn, black beans, lettuce, and tomatoes on house made ciabatta flatbread, all brought together with a chipotle aioli. Love the seasoned fries that come with it too. My only complaint is that it should be bigger in size given the price. California Bistro ($13.25)- With such a terrific sandwich above, I thought the outstanding flavor profiles would follow suit on this California bistro, but was mildly disappointed. The quality of the product is obvious as Fugazzi's uses beautiful, thin slices of Angus steak, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, thick bacon, and mayo on a toasted asiago roll. I felt the mayo wasn't enough to pull the meal together as it was bland and slightly dry with each bite. Old Towne Cheesecake ($6.25)- I'd put this NY style cheesecake up against any cheesecake ever and am confident it would be victorious. The silken texture of the cheesecake is almost magical and the buttery walnut taste is one of a kind. The graham cracker crust holds the integrity of the cheesecake to the very last crumble too. Glorious and something I'll definitely crave later. Served with white chocolate syrup and raspberry, but ask for these two on the side. Xango ($7.50)- A cinnamon and sugar coated pastry, deep fried and stuffed with cheesecake filing. Served with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel and white chocolate. They use the same cheesecake as above to stuff these tasty pastries so you know the end result would be fantastic. ----- Conclusion: After trying most of the establishments in downtown, I'd say Fugazzi's moniker of being the best in Downtown Visalia is well deserved--however if it was placed against some in OC, it'd be relatable to a Bj's. Regardless, their creative and well-rounded menu is sure to cater anyone's hunger. Can't wait to try their pizza's! Extra Notes: -Accepts credit card -Fantastic service -Their menu seems fixated on Italian cuisine, yet their decor suggests a New Mexico Feel. Kind of conflicting. We love this place in downtown Visalia, which is why I should just go in person, but 3 out of our 3 pickup/delivery orders have all been wrong. Today, we got carbonara pasta instead of the ordered tortellini, earlier in the week for my son's birthday, I ordered his favorite fettuccine, and we got spaghetti instead, and awhile back we got an order without any of the 4 salads, pizza or bread that we ordered and paid for. I've given Fugazzi's a couple tries as I'm in the Visalia area regularly for business trips. The first time my coworkers and I went, I got a pork chop dish, and it was fairly salty. Our waiter wasn't very attentive either. I gave the restaurant a couple other chances by getting delivery service, and the same guy took my order both times. What I don't understand is why restaurant staff is so sassy when I, as a customer, am giving them business. The guy on the line was rude, and the so-so quality of food isn't worth the effort and patience needed to deal with curt, bitchy employees. One of my orders was served without a side either, when that should have been included with my sandwich. With all that said, Fugazzi's is on my X list. read more

By far the best restaurant I've tried in downtown Visalia (Main St.) yet. This is the fifth restaurant on Main that I've tried and I will revisit Fugazzi's again before any of the others. Just after entering the restaurant I was immediately getting a bit disappointed because there was no one to seat us. We had to wait a few good minutes before anyone even noticed we were there waiting to be seated. However, after we were seated they quickly recovered with a pleasant waitress and great menu choices. As an appetizer I ordered the Portabella Mushroom (which I HIGHLY recommend!!!!). It was tasty with many distinct flavors (sun-dried tomatoes, eggplant, pine nuts and feta cheese). Kudos to the chef for that treat :-) As my main dish I ordered the Spicy Chicken Chipotle. Excellent choice. Again...interesting mix of ingredients (chipotle, mango, edamamebeans,onions,red bellpeppers) but they all tasted awesome together. Just the right amount of spice to keep on wanting to take another bite (anymore and I would not have been able to comfortably eat the dish) Definitely an upscale loungy feeling to the atmosphere. It was nice! Pricey, but worth it. I don't mind paying a few extra bucks for great tasting food....especially if it's something I won't make for myself at home. I sadly have to admit that Fugazzis is no longer my favorite restaurant. I loved the cilantro chicken plate they had on their menu and was still able to order it. However after my visit I sadly won't be back. The dish usually comes with a rice that has edemame beans other veggies and sauce. I got my plate with salad and a side of veggies and a very small portion of the chicken with very little sauce and plain rice that looked like it was cooked in chicken broth. It was not the same. The plate was $11.20 and the last time I was there I was given a bigger portion. (Picture posted) My husband ordered spaghetti and meatball plate with was supposed to come with two meatballs and he wanted to add one more. There was also a lunch special that came with one. When his plate came there was only one meatball and waitress made it seem like it was not on the menu. She ended up charging extra for the two. All in all it was not a pleasant experience. We arrived and placed our order at 4:05 pm in the small, stuffy to-go room. We paid $45 for a sandwich with side salad, shrimp wrap with side salad, an apple and pecan salad and two drinks; were told it'd be about 20 minutes. We were given our drinks and let the hostess know we were going to take a short walk. We arrived back to the room less than 10 minutes later with no on in sight. At about 4:20 a male employee entered the room and asked if I'd been helped, I responded I had and was waiting for my order. About 4:30 a different male employee (whom I assume to be some sort of manager) asked if I'd been helped. I advised I had and was waiting for 30 minutes now. He confirmed I had ordered, paid and received my drinks then left to look for my food. Apparently the wrap and salad were made;however the sandwich still needed to be made. At 4:50, I left the restaurant with my food (thankfully, I reviewed it as they forgot the side sauce we had requested) and an apology with a gift card from the gentleman for the wait. Upon arriving back at the hospital to feed my hungry and exhausted family, we realized they forgot to give us napkins or utensils. Ugh. My first experience here at Fugazzi's was great. My friends and I reserved a spot for dinner before going to prom. Although it was busy, service was quicker than I expected. We really enjoy the Spicy Chicken Chipotle with penne dish.... Moist chunks of well flavored chicken, edamame, mango, peppers, in a tasty chipotle sauce with a bit of a kick. Other dishes have been very hit and miss, we've tried multiple so-so, bland pasta dishes. We also love the complimentary bread and amazing garlicky/tomato dipping sauce that comes with it. This restaurant was awesome! Went here for a date night after finding it on yelp (traveling through town) and we were VERY satisfied! Everything about this restaurant made me so happy. IMMEDIATELY after being sat, our server greeted us with bread and sauce. This was incredible, and free! I ordered a firehouse seasonal draft, which was amazing, and my date had a tasty martini. Our server was ROBERT. Ask for him, he is awesome! The appetizer we had was like a portobello artichoke salad, and the flavors were insanely awesome. Then we both had two nice pasta dishes, and the crime brûlée cheesecake. The restaurant is also nicely decorated and has a fun vibe. We were very impressed with the quality of food, drinks, and service. The menu also has lower priced options as well as higher priced fares to accommodate to everyone's wallet. I used to love this place. Time has slowly taken its toll. The quality throughout has diminished from service to food. My "grilled" chicken sandwich had paper thin slices of cooked chicken breast. Nothing grilled about it. My sweet potato fries were undercooked. Our server was ok but dropped our bill off by dropping it as she briskly walked by with out a word of "thanks for coming in" or "have a nice night". My thought was to go there since it had been a while. So many new restaurants have come and opened in Visalia in the last few years. I will not be going back to Fugazzis. read more
