I have been to this restaurant 5 times and have tried to like it. The first time was good. That's the only positive thing I can say. The food is always so undercooked that I think the chefs might actually eat this garbage too, resulting in them getting the runs constantly and having to shart their brains out before they finish cooking it. It's entirely possible that they're actually serving me their sharts. I like tempura as an appetizer and it is always so undercooked that it basically tastes like wet sponges covered in lukewarm cornflakes. This time I asked our server, Tina, to have our tempura well done. She barely spoke English so I asked her to have them cook it longer than usual. She nodded in Chinese. I ordered a double mojito and received a drink with less alcohol than O'Douls non-alcoholic beer. The appetizer and the main courses (seafood udon with miso soup) came out at the same time, approximated 7.6 seconds after we ordered it and we're expectedly undercooked. The udon was always acceptable but this time it had so little seafood on it I think they split it between 8 plates like they were rationing food after the apocalypse. The udon noodles were about as firm as forgotten spaghetti and the vegetables were near raw. The miso soup was missing the miso soup. I wanted to drown my sorrows in more "cocktails" but our "server" never came back and was likely studying for some exams or also sharting her brains out with her coworker. The only other server there, who I will call Princess Leia, gave us to go boxes and our check and told the adjacent both she was going on break and that the bus boy would be taking care of them. I was astounded. Yeah the tempura always sucked mega balls but at least the service was decent and the entrees were ok. Last time I was here, the bartender was so drunk that he was dropping stuff all over the floor and couldn't recognize a bottle of sake from a picture menu that another customer tried to order. He also called me Jake, which is not my name. He was a complete mess and needs professional help not only for his drinking problem, but for his lack of fashion sense. He also needs a new tattoo artist. I think the next time I go out I will literally pick a random place out of the phone book without looking and then tell them to order for me. I've had better service from the IRS. Maybe I just need to find a decent strip club and eat there... at least it will smell just like today's meal. This is the first time in 15 years that I didn't tip. Hopefully Tina passes her exams and her college is already paid for. I'm not sure what's more fake, the positive reviews for this place or all my ex girlfriends telling me they finished in bed. It's a toss-up. I came here for restaurant week last Saturday with my boyfriend. We had a friendly hostess and a polite waitress. Once we looked at their specialty menu, we decided it was cheaper and more delicious to order off the regular one. I got a bellini as my drink and it was great. Then my boyfriend got squid rings, which he shared with me. These were good, they had a nice char, sauce, and texture. I ordered the 3 sushi rolls for $10, which included eel and avocado, spicy tuna, and cooked shrimp. Our waitress made a mistake with my boyfriend's order of a shrimp bento box by just bringing him shrimp and rice. She brought the correct food for him quickly, however. My sushi was fresh and tasty. My favorite was definitely the eel and avocado roll. During our meal, we watched the different hibachi chefs perform for other diners, which was a nice addition. We decided to order dessert and got a passion fruit mango bomba. I couldn't stop eating this. It was absolutely the best part of the experience. It's a mango sorbet cut into a circular shape with passion fruit syrup in the middle. Then there's a delightful white chocolate outer shell that's frozen onto the sorbet that you get to crack. Like I said, delightful! This is a nice restaurant. The people who work here are welcoming and the place is clean. It's kind of your standard Japanese restaurant so the decor and music are the usual, though that's not a bad thing. Lunch special pricing is excellent!! For lunch the price for is about $6 which is roughly half of he usual entree price of $12. No combos for the lunch special however. When I visited I paid extra for the Shrimp & chicken combo and added the option of Hibachi fried rice (per server suggestion) which isn't that much extra ($2) and is definitely worth it! Way better than plain white rice. The combo came with a soup, salad, and fried veggies which were all delicious! The combo of the shrimp/chicken consisted of only 3 pieces of shrimp, I would've liked more, but there was plenty of chicken to make up for it. The sweet barbecue sauce that the chicken was in was absolutely AMAZING! i mixed it up with the rice and was very delighted at how sweet the sauce was but how it wasn't loaded with sodium, because it didn't make me die of thirst. The salad dressing is a carrot ginger dressing and it is very sweet but not too sweet, it goes very very well with the salad. The soup is a type of mushroom soup, mostly broth, only a couple small mushroom slices. This soup isn't the traditional creamy mushroom soup, but still is excellent! My girlfriend had the Lo mein dish, she's a huge Lo mein fan and she approved of the taste. I don't really care for Lo mein, so I didn't even try it. We chose to sit at the hibachi table because neither or my friend had done a hibachi dinner. The young chefs are acrobatic and skilled with their knives. We didn't care for the squirting of sake or the tossing of bits of food into people's mouths, but other tables were obviously into into it. The food was salty, greasy, and without much flavor. My friend got the vegetable dinner, and I got the shrimp dinnk. The soup used what tasted like canned broth. My friend liked the ginger salad dressing, but I didn't. Went to pick up my To-Go order and was attacked by one of their drunk customers in the past, who punched me in the face and spit on my car, had to take him to court. Learning that they also serve minors and serve customers way too much alcohol is very concerning. The sushi is super dry, place is very dirty. Staff (and owners) dont even really understand what's going on. You will not be safe at this establishment. I would recommend DAO. read more

Absolutely TRASH establishment. Placed an order for take out just now through the online ordering service on their website which uses Chow Now. Our order was supposed to be ready at 6:55. We show up at 7:11 and they can't find our order. Turns out the kid working didn't send our order through so they told us it would be 15 more minutes and were not apologetic. I come back 15 more minutes later with my food and make it a few steps out the door before all of my food comes crashing out the bottom of the bag all over the side walk. My boyfriend stormed back in and demanded a refund for our ruined food. They refuse to refund and say they will make new food but we have to wait for it. I then go inside and demand a refund because I'm not waiting any longer and they tell me to contact Chow now for my refund. It says directly on their website to contact the restaurant directly. I will never order from this incompetent, rude, horribly run restaurant again. What a joke. And this is after I spent $43 on TAKE OUT! read more

Don't go on a weekend unless you want hibachi in that case you'll be served right away. Sound warning needed before my review. For those with guests on the spectrum, if you have a migraine, or anyone sensitive to loud and sudden noises will not enjoy this experience. With that said, this was a fun experience. Very busy but always a good sign of good food. Once seated, there are clear table dividers to separate parties to safely eat without a mask. I did the hibachi which is a show in itself. Seeing how the food is made in front of you is fun. The onion volcano and the fire bursts are especially spectacular. A good option to wow the kids. I ordered the hibachi filet mignon which was cooked to medium; anything more and would be a waste of such tender meat. I ordered my meal with rice. I tried my friend's noodles and wish I ordered that instead. The rice was good but the noodles carried more flavor. There is also the moment where the chef squirts warm sake in your mouth. Even if you can swallow with your mouth open, I get the impression the goal is to have you soil some on yourself. It's clear so it didn't stain. I will say that my only real issue is that we were cramped into a hibachi table so minimal elbow room. Not a real breaker as overall, I enjoyed myself and will go back again. Normally I really enjoy hibachi here, but last night was a mess. They were completely overbooked. We had a 6PM reservation and were not seated until 6:30. There was no explanation other than "we're a little behind." Not an ideal start. The chef's "show" was lackluster and rushed - absolutely no personality. And our waiter was extremely slow at service. I ordered sushi as an appetizer and after getting my rice, inquired about the sushi. The waiter said "oh I forgot to put that order in." No apology. I would suggest going with friends/family, the experience is better, we've went three times once with family and twice with strangers. I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at this restaurant. Stopped by for dinner with a group of three girls and we were seated in a booth that seemed very separate from the chaotic Hibachi activity taking place feet from our table. The booths had a sort of enclosure that blocked some of the noise and made us feel cozy and comfortable. They pour a nice glass of wine and there are several options with a separate menu including an array of mixed drinks. The red sangria is delicious. For appetizers we started with a California roll and the Disney Roll. Didn't try the California, but my friend said it was delicious. I did try the Disney roll which consisted of cream cheese, salmon, tempura on the outside and some other secret ingredients that were OUT OF THIS WORLD. The flavors were so delicious, I highly recommend trying this one. For entrees I went with the chicken hibachi. Safe choice, they added two pieces of shrimp on the side which was a nice touch. The dish overall was OKAY, there was way too much sauce and it was loaded with salt. I suggest asking for light sauce when ordering this dish. Also, the fried rice was very bland, nothing special about it. After tasting the sushi, I would stick to that next time I come. Everything tasted fresh and the food came out in a timely manner. They have a split dish fee. I don't like when restaurants do that. It leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. Also they don't sing happy birthday unless you sit at a hibachi table. read more

This was my first experience at Fuji Grill and it made for a pretty fun Saturday night. The hibachi stations were, for lack of a better word, wild. If that is not your cup of tea, you can also sit at a private booth with a curtain which seemed like a pretty intimate experience. We were promptly seated at our reservation time, and sat around the grill waiting for the big show. The waitress seemed a little frazzled, which was understandable due to the chaos of the restaurant. She took our drink orders but it took a little longer than anticipated for them to arrive. The hibachi show was great, it was my first experience with the sake bottle, don't wear a nice shirt if you want to participate. The table all pretty much ordered the same thing, shrimp, chicken, steak, and the girls got an order of sushi to share. We were promptly served our soup and salad just as the rice was finishing up. As everyone got served their meat, my boyfriend realized he didn't get his steak. The chef was apologetic and cooked his up right away, and offered some extra shrimp. He put on a great show and cooked some great food. Sake bombs were fun too! As we were finishing up, the waitress brought out a dessert as she saw we were celebrating a birthday. It was then we realized, wait a minute..we never got the sushi. Honestly. I don't think I could've fit any more food in my stomach, so it was probably a blessing in disguise. Fuji Grill is a great time, I recommend definitely going with a large group, and be prepared to have a loud, fun time. The portions are huge too so i enjoyed it the rest of the weekend. I love the Fuji Grill II. Never have I (and I go there a lot) had a disappointing meal there. The servers are top notch and the chefs are absolutely fantastic, both for making delicious food and giving one hell of a show. What's amazing is all the options; whether you're going for sit down Japanese dinner, the Sushi Bar, Hibachi or just cocktails at the bar. Every meal there, whether a deeply discounted lunch special or the most expensive combinations of luxurious options on the Hibachi menu, is an event. And that is worth celebrating. read more

I really enjoyed myself here, this was the first place that I went for Local Restaurant Week (even though we didn't get any of the Specials). I showed up with my Co-Workers (Gina & Jeremiah) I organized a Group dinner (I thought it would be nice for us to do something since we all work a lot of Hours). Besides me, Jeremiah & Gina there was also: Kevin, Tracey, Claire, Chris, Christine, Bonnie, Danielle and Amanda and her Boyfriend. While we were waiting for everyone to show up I ordered a drink at the bar, a cocktail called the Blue Sumo (Absolut Vodka, Blue Curacao, Sour Mix and Pineapple Juice), the bartender also gave me a sample of Plum Wine (it was Sweet and Rich kinda like those Star Anise cookies you get around Christmas Time). Finally after almost 20 minutes of waiting we were finally sat, but not at a booth this time I was experiencing something I've never done before (Hibachi). Hibachi is where the Chef cooks dinner right in front of you for your Viewing Pleasure. We all put in our Orders for the Chefs to cook for us, after that he dazzled us by setting things on fire (Big Flames flaring up real high). Kevin ordered a Volcano Bowl (Similar to a Scorpion Bowl) he had a few sips but he had to leave to go to a Hockey Game so he said we could have whats left of it. The Chef cooked up some Fried Rice and Teriyaki Noodles he also Squirted Sake in everyone's mouth (Sake is a Rice Wine with a High Alcohol content 9.5) everytime he Squirted the guy kept saying: Mo Sake Mo Happy. I was the only one to do it 8 Times (by the End of the night I was wasted). I also liked that he tried flicking bits of Zucchini and Carrots in our Mouths (even though it almost made me fall out of my Chair). I also ordered some other stuff, The Lobster Salad (to be honest my least favorite dish of the Meal, it was a mound of Chilled Lobster surrounded by Lettuce Leafs. Very unattractive, I was expecting piece of Lobster Claw and Tail but the flavor was decent). I also ordered the Scorpion Roll (Tempura Shrimp inside and topped with Eel and Avocado) I shared it with some of my friends (they seemed to like it). Then we our meals were getting cooked, It was stuff like Shrimp, Scallops, Filet Mignon (All so Good). To finish off the Meal I ordered a dessert called the Exotic Bomba (a combination of Mango, Raspberry and Passionfruit Sorbet encased in a White Chocolate Sphere and drizzled with Dark Chocolate). It was an amazing dessert, I loved the Sweet and Sour mix (some of the others loved it too. This was an amazing Experience (I ate Good, talked with Friends and drank too Much) and with my bill coming to about 90 Bucks (Tip Included). I'm looking forward to doing Hibachi again real soon. Placed an order for pickup. Order was ready on time, but cold when I got it home (5 minutes from Fuji Grill). Ordered filet and lobster which comes with soup, 2 jumbo shrimp, salad, fried rice and vegetables. The "filet" was unedible. I could not break it down with my teeth and after chewing for so long, my jaw was sore. Gave up on the meat. Fried rice, lobster, shrimp and vegetables were good - once warmed up. No soup was included in the order. No excuse for the poor quality of meat - especially quoted as "filet"...... read more

Great place for large groups of friends. They have an awesome sushi bar and cook all the hibachi style righy in front of you. If your looking for a fun time out a d don't want to venture in the city this is the place to do it. I always have a great meal and servers are on top of everything. My first hibachi experience! It was a little intimidating at first with the whole squirting the sake in your face and throwing prices of zucchini at you to try and catch with your mouth. But had a group of kids and the giggles with the water squirt bottle was worth it. I love that I can see the quality of the food before it gets prepared and it's quite tasty! (I like filet and the noodles). It does get pricey but they have kids specials and cubbies/tables if your not feeling the whole dog and pony show or want something a little quieter. read more

The food is always good here. This visit however was not good. There was a grease trap above us that needed cleaning as it was dripping on the table. Told the server and a guy came and wiped the trap. While eating, it dripped into my food! They offered me 20% off. I declined and requested full reimbursement which, at an Asian restaurant is a joke because they won't do that. I ended up with a new half portion meal which I accepted.
