While in the area and on the hunt for Sushi today, I came across Lover's Sushi & Hibachi and…read morestopped in for lunch. Walking in it was fairly dimly lit and silent as I was to be the only diner. The staff was very friendly and got me seated with a menu at the sushi bar immediately. The menu was fairly baseline with a few signature specialty dishes but all consisting of the same ingredients. I order a Hot tea, the Sashimi lunch special which came with a Miso Soup & side of Rice as well as the Treasure Island appetizer to sample some of their more unique dishes. The Miso Soup was both warm and flavorful. The Treasure Island app was an interesting blend of sweet savory and fat flavors with fresh Mango, Avocado, Tobiko, Ponzu and diced fish's but it was unfortunately all just overtaken by the heavy Mayo and tempura flakes. The Sashimi lunch was presented fairly but the quality of the fish was sub par to say. All of the previous frozen variety and using Izumidai "tilapia" in place of Red Snapper. Overall it certainly was not the greatest Sushi dining experience for me personally and I would pass on the next opportunity to visit. That being said there seems to be very limited Sushi dining opinion this area and it was fairly reasonably priced 2 course lunch. 3.9/10 Very friendly staff, lower quality ingredients.

My wife and I had been to this restaurant at least six times in the last year. I used to go when…read morethe previous elder couple ran the place and introduced my wife to it not knowing the new people took over. I loved the black bean shrimp and still do. Today on the first Tuesday of June we went in around 2 pm. The lady and man working there were eating. We felt we were interrupting. The man quickly asked what we like to drink. We said hot tea and water. Once delivered we discovered the water tasted bad due to what I figured was freezer burned ice cubes. The hot tea was also bad, a pity since we loved it before. I complained to the woman that the water and tea were bad and while she was in the kitchen I grabbed two waters from a glass refrigerator by us and had every intention to pay for them. She took the tea and bad ice water away complaining to us how could this be. I asked her to taste the water with ice and she refused. It must have upset her because we heard her yelling with her coworkers in the back. Prior visits we were offered crispy noodles in a bowl with duck sauce to dip them. No longer. The lady who once ran the place always sliced a orange on a plate for her guests to clean their palate before they left. The new manager seems to care less about her customers. Since she ate nearly the whole time we were there, we felt as if we were intruding on her lunch. If we were, she let it happen and didn't even remember me or my wife and how we tipped well. Not this time. We will never go back regardless of any circumstances. The booths are more than uncomfortable. Steer clear! I will miss the back bean shrimp but nothing else except the old kind woman who once ran the place and her chef.
