We used our GPS to find Dugan's Pub since we were not familiar with the area. We went right by it. We called our friends for guidance, and they helped us find them and the Pub. It was dark! That's how we missed it. We were seated by a friendly host. He impressed us with a book he had on his podium. We all love readers! We got the corner booth, which was roomy & comfortable. We looked over the double sided menus as we waited for someone to take our orders. Mason was our server in training with a regular who didn't give her name or I didn't hear it. Husband and I had the cheeseburgers with lettuce & mayonnaise. Husband had the huge, crispy waffle fries & I had small cup of coleslaw. One friend had the chicken sandwich with coleslaw (we both avoid fried foods), and her husband had fish'n'chips with coleslaw & fries. Only Husband had a drink - ice tea. Three of us had water. The drinks came quickly, and the hot food was delivered as soon as it was ready. The food was good. We liked the pub atmosphere & decor. Our friends had been here before & recommended it for its food & casual ambiance. So often when attracted to an Irish pub I imagine lively music, convivial laughter, and hearty food served piping hot. In America I'm more likely to discover I have stumbled into a joint more like an Applebee's and poorly ran at that. Sadly, here, too. While the cod filets were properly sized, correctly priced, and seasoned well, the slaw was warm and barely dressed. Our server was nonchalent and more engaged in chowing down on her lunch with a coworker than monitoring our order. All the food was delivered lukewarm including the cold stuff. Meh. I'll give a hard pass on the Reuben Eggrolls, too. What I imagined as a juicy bite into a steamy roll of goodness filled with cornbeef, sauerkraut, and swisscheese was actually three tiny rolls of dry, tasteless, overcooked wads of dough. After walking busy Main St to find a place where 4 of us could have a late lunch, we were directed to this restaurant pub less than a 1/4 mile away. It is in a newer building. We parked down the road from it although looks like building has indoor parking as well. We were hungry and the meals were delicious and plentiful. The deep fried fish (sandwich or chips) was one of the best I've tasted in the area. The ?beer batter coating adhered to the fish even as it cooled down; the cod was moist and flaky. Kaleigh was our friendly and helpful server. Several of our party had burgers and remarked that the grilled taste was a bonus. Fries were generous and condiments were fresh. The cole slaw was tasty but seemed to be just chopped cabbage without seasoning or dressing. It could be improved on. They have a good assortment of local beers, wine, cider and what appeared to be a full-service bar. Live sports on multiple quiet TVs. We visited on a Friday afternoon at 4:00 PM. The atmosphere was very "pub-like" and nice. The restaurant was maybe 25% occupied. The waitress took our order and I ordered Shepherds Pie. The waitress came back 5 minutes later and said they were out of Shepherds Pie already. (By 4:00 PM on a Friday with that amount of occupancy???) So my wife and I both ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with the brown gravy on the side. Both meals came out with gravy poured all over them. I realize this is not the waitress fault and she did offer to take them back, but we just scraped the gravy off and ate it. Food was mediocre. I'm sure they do great things at the bar with just drink orders, but the place was not crowded, they were out of some food already, and couldn't get the order right. Visited Dugans 9/7/21 0800 Masks still required to enter and be seated. Fish and Chips, Ahi Tuna Sandwich, Salmon filet ordered were decent dishes. Philly Cheese Steak was abysmal meat was tough and dry and sauteed onions were severely undercooked. Dugan's was also out of sweet potato fries forcing one member of our party to change their side to a salad that was delivered late with the meal. Our waitress Sarah H. was scatter brained took 3 different times just to get a side of lemon. Also failed to disclose up charges for changes to side dishes that were not listed on the menu. When returning to table from restroom one of the members of the staff unprofessionally dropped an f-bomb. Personally I wouldn't visit to dine again based on our experience. But might visit if only having a drink so I could tolerate the profanity from the staff. read more

We took a long hike that lasted until dark and by the time we showered at our AirBnb, many of the food options in Brevard area were closed. Thank goodness or we may not have stumbled on Dugans Pub! We got there for their late night menu and both ordered the Corned Beef Reuben sandwich. It may have been one of the best sandwiches I have ever had and I don't even like sour kraut. My boyfriend agreed that it was one of the best sandwiches he's had. He tried a few of the local beers they had on tap and said they were great, too. As an Irish girl, I enjoyed their Jameson on ice. Well it's a classic Irish pub/eatery, we came in early evening on a Monday, had some ribs and these really amazing cored beef and sauerkraut eggrolls. Wow! So they had a few things on the menu that were kind of exclusive to Dugan, and they delivered!!! Egg rolls had choice of dipping sauces, 1000 Island for classic Reuben tastiness, or Jalapeño Ranch for a smoky corned beef flavor that suppresses the "pickled" flavor of the Kraut. Mmm!!! Irish-themed sports pub with plenty of TVs around to catch the game. We were in town visiting family that lives in the area and met up with a large group one Saturday night for a late supper. They were out of something that a few of us had wanted to order (I don't recall now what it was) and the server didn't remember to tell us this until she was taking our order. So after perusing the menu a second time the Hubs and I decided to share a Rueben since it was late and we didn't want leftovers. It was a a big sandwich and tasted quite good. My cousin sitting next to me had their Irish Ribs and gave me sample to try. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and had a nice flavor with the sauce they used. Tha Pub has listened to the experts advise and have lots of space between tables. Server are wearing a mask and doing everything they can to keep everyone as safe as possible. This was our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised. They have a diverse menu and the portions are large. We ordered the Corned Beef and Cabbage and the Shepard's Pie. Both were served hot out of the kitchen. We enjoyed both dishes are are eager to return to try other menu items. Celebrating our two year anniversary (7/08) and defeating cancer together, we chose the pisgah area. After a perfect day of hiking waterfalls, this place was the cherry on the ice cream . Awesome lunch and reward after a beautiful hike full of waterfalls. We were tired and hungry (and had the dog with us). Dugans was recommended as a dog friendly restaurant. We sat in the outdoor patio and had plenty of shade for doggy. They even had dog bowls for us to use. We ordered a pint and a flight with the potatoes skin appetizer. Yummy cold beer . A solid 3. The food wasn't too bad, something was wrong though with the server or kitchen. Here's the breakdown. Came 4 years ago. My wife HATES pickles. She asked for no pickles on her sandwich. They had extra pickles on it. She sent it back to get completely remade. We didn't return for four years.... Tonight we went back. Beers were a good price. So was the wine and it tasted good. My dad said, "Mama, that's the least I've ever paid for one of your wines." and my mom and the rest of us loved it. My wife ordered a burger with no pickles and a ranch sauce. Of course it came with pickles and no Ranch sauce. The waitress fixed it quickly. I ordered Bangers and Mash but no sauerkraut. I asked for potato salad instead. I got sauerkraut, no mashed potatoes. Yep, Bangers and mash minus mash. The waitress got my mash. I also ordered the broccoli cheddar soup. It was absolutely delicious and not fake cheddary. Good soup. We ordered our small son a cheeseburger completely unseasoned. It didn't come out with our meal. It came out 10 minutes late. Gotta give them credit, it was unseasoned as we asked. We visited here twice while we were in Brevard and were disappointed both times. We sat at the bar and the bartenders acted like we were bothering them. Granted the first time was in a Friday so they were understandably busy but the second time was a Monday and were not busy at all. The bartenders were very friendly with the locals so if you're a local in Brevard you would love it here! My husband had the meatloaf one night and it was superb. We walked around the block a few times before we ask a local and were pointed in the right direction. Luckily it was worth the trouble. Cozy atmosphere, well-stocked bar, friendly staff. We stopped there as it was said that they had outdoor seating where we could sit with our service pup. The outdoor seating is acceptable with the acceptance that everybody sitting out there was chain smoking cigarettes. They seemed like local folk that came every day to enjoy happy hour. . I might suggest that they have a area For smoking folks and an outside area for people who just wanna sit outside and have their meal . The outside area was long and narrow along the side of the building and there's no reason they couldn't designated one area for the smoking folks. It was very uncomfortable having to eat my meal with five or six people chain smoking all around us. We were never notified ahead of time that the outside area was smoking only.
