Perfect dry martini
Peter M.

Cavernous eatery with plenty of seats for singles all the way up to your team's victory dinner. I sat at the bar, which provides a spot without all the brouhaha. Simple. After 8 hours on the road, a Tito's very dry martini was my number followed by a freshly rolled Fujiyama roll. While both were excellent, the roll was massive. I found the flavors began to muddle the longer I continued to eat. Less is more IMO. I left half of it on the plate--too much. I give a warm recommendation as they made my "Give 'em a whirl" list. Try 'em!

We we're seated immediately upon entering the establishment. The place was hardly occupied so I just knew that we would be in and out, but no! We sat there for 20 minutes unacknowledged while other tables got whatever service they needed. They weren't short staffed because there were 4/5 employees standing around the front and the hostess was playing on her phone. This is maybe the 3rd/4th visit here with consider subpar experience. The place is clean and well spaced out, however.

I think this is the best sushi in the Charleston aside from Fuji's on Jefferson road. Service is always great, sushi is delicious.

Always nice to come home and have some good sushi and conversations. Lunch combo is a good deal to try a few different sushi rolls.

We heard from so many folks that we needed to come try this gem but what we experienced first hand…read morewas an expensive bomb. There's an amazing selection of bourbon but I love tequila! My margarita was not good at all. So bad that I didn't even drink more than half which is just a sin when it comes to expensive cocktails. My husband's chicken sandwich had about as much chicken as a tiny tender strip. He left hungry. I had the steak special. Which had good flavors (as anything covered in cheese would) but if I'm paying $60 for a medium rare steak, it's a shame that it came out medium well. Roasted cauliflower was mid, I make better at home in my air fryer. Service was good but the waitress was pretty pushy with the extras like we were insane for not ordering appetizers and not letting her bring us a glass of 4 roses. Ambiance was fine. But the experience was not worth my money, not even if it was half the cost honestly.

The bar staff was outstanding from start to finish. We had a few different bartenders taking care of us, and each one was attentive, friendly, and great at helping with recommendations. We ordered the New York steak and the Brussels sprouts special. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium, and the Brussels sprouts hit that ideal balance--crispy, flavorful, and just right. Everything we had was packed with flavor. The drinks didn't miss either--ice-cold beer and expertly crafted cocktails all around. If you find yourself in Charleston, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommend.

My wife and I stopped in here to grab a bite for dinner recently after we'd checked into our hotel…read moreon an overnight stay from Christmas Vacation. It was a Thursday night and DT's looked like a very nice place. There seemed to be a lot of tables open but the hostess said there'd be a wait since we didn't have reservations. The bar was pretty empty so we just grabbed a seat at the bar. We decided to split a Grilled Caesar salad and an order of Lamb Shanks. We also ordered two house wines. The Caesar salad came out first and they had split it on two plates. We thought that they had given us each a salad since it looked like they had placed two romaine heads on each of our plates. The bartender said "No, that's how they split it". They must've grilled the romaine on the grill with steaks because the lettuce had a steak taste to it....very very good. We'd never had lettuce taste like that. The salad dressing was very good. Next they brought out the lamb shanks. The menu said it came with 4 shanks, but there were only three on the plate. They were done perfectly and there was a lot of meat on the bone. Some of best I've had. It would've been nice if they'd had 4 on the plate as advertised but we were fine eating just the three of them. Nice place...good service.

The place was packed with what appeared to be a downtown after work crowd. I was able to get a seat at the bar. I ordered an old fashioned of course. It was good, but no craft ice. The guy next to me ordered a bourbon with a single cube and it came out with the craft ice. Weird that you would need to ask like that. The filet was downright awesome. Well prepared and seasoned. It came with a loaded baked potato which was well appointed. The bartender was attentive, but not overbearing. I washed it all down with a nice local lager. Great dinner in Charleston.

My boyfriend and I were passing through Charleston, WV during our roadtrip and looking for dinner…read moreduring the work week. I wanted to try something new and interesting and through my Yelp research I found this spot. It's located in downtown with metered street parking free Monday-Saturday nights after 6pm and all of Sunday. Luckily, we were able to find a spot easily. Inside was modern and relatively clean. We had to wait a little bit to be seated as they were pretty busy; however, this place had a decent amount of seating and space. Service was good overall, but it wasn't as consistent as I would've liked for actions such as water refills, asking for extra napkins, etc. This was partly because they were very busy that night. They have a variety of food options - apps, salads, sandwiches, pies (pizzas), and dessert. We ended up ordering a large pizza (thin crust) to split - half Thai and half Chicken Gouda. Both were yummy although the crust was a tad burnt - nothing bad to the extent that taking bites were an effort. Overall, I preferred the Thai since I've never come across a Thai style pizza and I could really taste the curry sauce. The only downside of the Thai was that the shrimp were slightly overcooked, which could be potentially explained by us ordering a pizza split in two styles with them cooking the entire pizza evenly versus what is needed for each ingredient. We finished the entire pizza between the two of us, but I could see someone having some leftovers. If possible, they might want to do some minor pest management. The entire time of our visit a fruit fly or gnat was hovering around us and the food. We tried to catch it and protect the food, only for it to ultimately take a permanent dip in my water. My overall assessment was that it was a good place to try in the city. It's not something I would crave, but I wouldn't mind coming back again if I was in the area.
