First time ordering. Ordered an order of Crab Rangoon and Utah Roll To Go on a Monday night. The Crab Rangoon was 90% wonton and 10% filling- very disappointing and not worth the price at all. The Utah Roll tasted like sushi I'd get from Rouses, I didn't eat half of the tuna because it did not taste fresh. They couldn't even cover the roll with avocado. To top it off, the guy who checked me out was not friendly at all - said "to go order?" and "$28.90" and that's it. I said "thank you, have a great day" - nothing in return. Not a smile. Everything was good. I got the clear soup which I love, I'd just like a few more noodles but I find that to be true often. I ordered the fresh salmon roll which is salmon, avocado and roe. The salmon was fresh and clean. It was decorated perfectly. So why not a five star review? They have a $2.00 uncharged to hold rice because they have to "use more fish." I don't want more fish- I just want no rice. I'm okay if they put it all in a bowl like a poke bowl but no, I just get to waste the rice. read more

Large selection of sushi rolls and sashimi. The staff is cordial and fast. The restaurant is usually below capacity, and is quiet and comfortable. I recommend the Sunrise roll as a selection. My wife likes the Utah roll. The regular rolls are great too. When we order hibachi, we usually get the filet option. We began ordering this after Hurricane Ida, when Fujiyama was one of the few local restaurants having a generator and enough staff to be open. I was somewhat not expecting the best, but was glad the restaurant was open. There are not many in Luling and can't drive very far when you're hungry. I would say 3.5 depending on what menu items are ordered. I ordered beef teriyaki which usually don't come out bad. This one was okay and fried rice was not impressive but again, not bad. Ate here on Thursday, July 14, 2022. We were seated immediately and the wait staff was attentive. The place was clean with a good atmosphere. I was a little concerned that there were few other diners despite it being noon. This usually speaks negatively about a restaurant's local popularity. I ordered teriyaki shrimp with fried rice and my dining companion ordered a noodle dish, which they reported as, "OK." My dish came with soup and salad, which were both passable. The teriyaki shrimp consisted of a few flavorless boiled shrimp on a bed of lettuce that had been daubed with some kind of bottled teriyaki sauce. The fried rice wasn't really fried. It was white rice to which some oil and soy sauce had been added, and then served as fried rice - there was nothing else in it. Maybe our mistake was ordering menu dishes rather than ordering rolls. Given my first experience here, I really don't intend to return to find out. read more

The staff is friendly and always go above and beyond. On yesterday's visit we dined in because no one would answer the phone for take out. It's been like that here lately. I ordered the clear soup and it was a bigger bowl than most places. I then had vegetable tempura which is always fresh and crunchy and a luling roll to which I added mango. Again, tasty. I have came here a couple times their dinner and lunches special has good portion. Coming with soup and salad as appetizers and then they main meal comes with noodles, fried rice, vegetables, two pieces of shrimp, and your choice of meat. I have had the chicken and steak so far and I would like to recommend the chicken as it was really good and the steak maybe not so much the meat felt a little tough as it was hard for me to chew and a little dry but overall the place is great if you are looking for some food. They have great servers who are attentive and nice. This place has hibachi specials (what I ordered) but it is not a sit and cook in front of you.. just in case some of y'all want to know but regardless I recommend trying to place if you want to grab some sushi or food in general. read more

Used to be my favorite place to eat, but within the last two years their prices have gone through the roof especially takeout. One tiny cup of spicy mayo not even big enough to use for 2 bites of a roll is an extra $2. Soy paper on a roll, extra $2. Want to substitute salmon for tuna? $4. You can see where I'm going here. That's not to say the food isn't excellent, I would just rather go somewhere that if I'm paying extra for these things I don't feel like I've been scammed out of money. read more

Customer service (two thumbs down). This is probably the 4th time I have pulled up and they were closed before posted time, worst part is that I called and asked what time they close and was told that they stop taking orders at 7:30pm. Call at 7 and no answer, continue to call and no answer so got in car and drive there where the closed sign is on the door at 7:18. They stated that their power had gone out (but it was so on when I got there). This is not good business. What a Shame I really do like their food. read more

First trip to Fujiyama was amazing! The menu is a good size. Not too small, but not overwhelming. The squid salad came out in a cute little boat. It was delicious! The squid was tender. The flavor was on point. One of the very best squid salads I've ever eaten. I also got a spicy tuna roll with rice paper. The tuna was amazing. It was delicate and velvety. You could tell it was good quality, fresh tuna. I will be back for sure! Although they don't have hibachi chefs "performing" table side, their hibachi dinners are delicious.

They're pretty fast and the food is good. Sometimes the crab Rangoon is a little too fried but doesn't happen often. Their yum yum sauce isn't that great and the hibachi is just okay but it's gorgeous and very fast and friendly! I've mostly gotten my orders to go but the few times i dined in were great. read more

The clear soup was a large bowl but lacked fried onion topping which is the best part and had only 2 slivers of mushroom. The salad is iceberg and mayo. That dressing was not any ginger dressing I've ever had. Mayo with your lettuce anyone? I passed. The steak was tender. Cooked well. The sauce was a little too much and too sweet for my liking. The sushi and hibachi is fantastic. They have a wide variety of rolls to choose from. I'm not a huge fan of raw sushi, so I like a clear menu to show me what is raw and what is not.
