Food is amazing but I constantly see girls come and go working here and this one is funny! I called on the phone for a BIG ORDER and even mentioned it! The girl was sweet AT FIRST I'll give her that and I thought I had the whole order in place before I called but my big party kept adding on to it after our phone call and kept texting me about what to add and I told her that ! The so called "manager" which is who I was on the phone with tells me after 5 minutes of placing the order "umm do you wanna maybe call back once u get the FULL order?" in a rude manner...maybe she was over stimulated idk ? Which I understand getting overstimulated but TO HANG UP ???? and before I thought I was finished w my order I told her I was adding on to it!! literally insane! - I mean I feel like whenever u have a big party it's known sometimes ppl will add on to it last minute...So she definitely sounded aggravated & aggressive on the phone! Like I'm sorry but Who says that?!?!? Should be NO room for that! Very unprofessional. I was in the car while I was ordering outside willing to wait KNOWING it takes a long time since it's two chefs & ik this place is very popular! This is a solid family-owned sushi spot located close to MSY airport! The restaurant is cozy and they have a variety of items including sushi, rice dishes, dumplings, and soup. Everything we ordered was promptly served and the waiter stayed attentive for our large group. I don't see mango with sushi often but the combination was very refreshing! Another notable dish was the salmon nigiri with garlic and chili oil - the fried garlic added a really nice crunch at the end of every bite. The fried rice with steak wasn't my favorite because of how chewy the steak was, but all of the sushi/nigiri tasted super fresh and also looked great in presentation! read more

We were out in Kenner and wanted good sushi. This place did not disappoint. We started with a tuna and jalapeno roll and it was so tasty. We then ordered a spicy tuna roll. It was great and they put a lot of spicy mayonnaise on top which is just how we like it. I then asked for an order of eel sushi which came with 3 pieces of eel. They had toasted it which added to the layers of flavor. We then ordered the LSU roll which was on the fried roll portion of the menu. It was really great and like nothing i had ever tasted. We also ordered a volcano roll and that was great. We don't get out to Kenner that often, but when we do, this restaurant will definitely be one of our stops. read more

Yes, I know that when in NOLA you must eat Cajun, but I have to tell you that one of the best meals I had during my last visit to NOLA was at Tokyo Grill in Kenner, LA. Our server - exceptional, the Sushi -delicious and fresh, the price - cannot be beat! Three of us ordered the Any 3 Roll, which comes with the choice of Miso soup or salad with ginger dressing ($12.95 each). We ordered the Haru Maki (fried spring rolls $4.55) and Seaweed Salad ($5.95) to share. Soft drinks are $1.50 each. Our total bill was $57.17 minus tip for the three of us. Yes, it's still a bit pricey for lunch, yet still cheaper than many competitors in the area. My Mom and Nancy couldn't finish their meal, leaving them leftovers. After devouring mine, I was stuffed the rest of the day; leaving the remainder of my daily cash allotment for daiquiris, beer, and hard liquor, nice! I ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, and Crunch roll and went with the salad versus the soup. All of the food was delicious. I did not find any of the rolls to be overly spicy. Our server provided additional condiments at our request at no additional charge. She also provided Togo ramekins of our favorite sauces to take home with our leftovers; she was a sweetie! My Mom actually found this place the day previous when she took the grandkid's here for lunch. If it wasn't for Mom, we would not have never experienced Tokyo Grill; great job Mom! This was the first time I've had Tokyo Grill in probably about a year but it's just the same as I remember it! They started doing their restaurant service again, but I normally always take out because they're always so fast and they're super close to my house. I ordered the hibachi shrimp and steak that comes with a generous portion of vegetables and an enormous serving of fried rice. Their quality is always great, and I did notice they were a bit more expensive than they used to be (but honestly what place hasn't gotten more expensive nowadays). I was really looking forward to going here once I moved back to the area.This place doesn't look like much & it is easy to miss since It is located in a shopping center. But for years I've told people that they have some of the best hibachi. The portion sizes are huge. I included a picture of my vegetable hibachi plate. That is a kid's serving size & it comes with pineapples as a side. It's so much I could never finish it all in one sitting. Their sushi rolls aren't bad either. I've never had one I did not like. Tokyo Grill in this location has huge selections of sushi on the menu. My first time here I asked the chef for recommendation and he recommended 2 chef special! The taste was simply amazing. Whenever I goto other sushi restaurant most sushi taste very similar to me so I was very surprised by the recommended sushi I was served. One was raw salmon sushi and one was a roll cooked. I do not know the name of the rolls (only have picture as reference) wbut even my father who doesn't like raw sushi said it was really good. My daughter brought me take out from this restaurant and it was wonderful so we thought we go back. Entering the restaurant no one's wearing a mask that works there, you cannot dine and it's close to dine in only take out, and it was super dark that makes me nervous. I ordered food and take it home to eat and it taste differently not bad just different. However, I froze what we didn't eat only to thaw it out about a month later and it was delicious it taste like the first time so maybe I needed to have the ingredients marinate for a while before we eat it. There prices are very reasonable. My daughter had the roll special & received a snow crab roll & California roll with a clear soup for under $8. Not bad at all. Located in a shopping center across from the W Esplanade Ave Walmart, this little sushi place offers a pleasant variety of Japanese dishes from chicken katsu and donburi to sushi and hibachi. Unfortunately, there are no hibachi tables, but if you want the flavor without the flair, this is the place for you. Hibachi prices are also much more reasonable here. The sushi rolls here are moderately sized and priced, and the crunchy rolls are lightly filled with crunchies. The tuna avacado rolls are half tune and half avocado. In other words, there is no skimping here. The dish I have ever purchased here that I was not fond of is the brocolli with garlic sauce. I thought the concept was great, but the brocolli were soggy and the sauce was too runny. Other than that, everything is great. The waitresses who work here tend to be high school students, but all of them are very pleasant. However last night I decided to try the udon noodles and was blown away. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the sauce was amazing. I ordered the vegetable version which came heaped with broccoli, zucchini, and mushrooms. Between my husband and myself we ate every last bite (except the mushrooms). We thought we'd be taking leftover noodles home and instead ended up bringing our unfinished sushi rolls home. I can't wait to go back. Update: went last night. Noodles are still amazing. My kid ordered the fried rice and it was delicious. Was my first time trying it. Rice was the perfect texture and well seasoned. This place is very affordable. My husband ordered the three roll special. Each of my two sons ordered a specialty roll. Plus we had an order of fried rice, two orders of fried gyoza, order of veggie udon noodles, and a bowl of soup. Total came to about $60 without tip. read more
